@K.O.N.Y,

I think it's a Bronx/Brooklyn accent aka Ebonics American accent, happy now, the kind of accent you hear from the The Wire.

The worst offenders are Amanda Douglas of CoolFm Port Harcourt. http://www.coolfm.us/ph959/ and some girl can't remember her name now on LoveFm Port Harcourt.

abelian:

simply ban any person registering more than one sim card of the same telephone line at a time

Do you also ban people from buying and owning more than 1 Cellphone? sad sad. What happens when you phone is lost or stolen and then used to commit a crime without your knowledge, try getting out police net when you are a nobody sad sad It's really sad that organizations like NBA, Civil Liberties etc did not speak up, demand for answers considering potential for abuse.

I registered my Sim just before the April elections, all of a sudden I was getting text with my name telling me to vote against Mrs Tinubu, while I'm resident in Rivers State, I got plenty of Vote 4 Me text from Abia, Delta and Rivers State, question is how did they know my name?

I had an argument about Pre-Reg Sims with a Police friend of mine, telling him it won't work in Nigeria and makes no sense anyway, I asked him why would a kidnapper make a ransom demand with his phone rather than kidnap victim's phone, he shook his head saying I must be Kidnapper or a Militant.

Whenever you see or hear about a govt agency pushing for a particular policy implementation, know that someone somewhere is getting paid, Pre-Reg budget was 5.5B naria.

@Naysayers,

Private morgues would not accept UNIDENTIFIED accident victims, those are sent straight to govt mortuaries. I think it would be lucrative if the OP was to add Value Added Services like IMC does, his wife can do the catering.

@dinggle,

Now that would make for a good Nollywood story, with OSofia playing your friend's dad

@OP,

My guy make sure your morgue is POSH, you would have more business than you can handle, remember as Nigerians  we love Efizzy

Religion / Begotten? Where Did Jesus Come If He Was Not Created By God? by mrmayor(m): 3:39pm On Aug 28, 2011
Who is Jesus; and where did he come?

John 1
1IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word ([a]Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.

    2He was present originally with God.

    3All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.

I know that this passage is used to assert the Divinity of Jesus as One Being with God ( Jehovah)  but the bible has nothing on the Origin of Jesus.

Questions.

What does Begotten Mean?

How and When was Jesus Begotten?

Since God (Jehovah) did not create Jesus, did Jesus also appear in the Universe just like God?

Did God (Jehovah) and Jesus come into existence Simultaneously?

This is not a bible bashing topic, please guys lets be civil with our answers. cheesy

Paula White: Without Walls Sues Lakeland Pastor

A lawsuit claims Randy Coggins lured members to his new church.

By Gary White, The Ledger

A Lakeland pastor faces a lawsuit from Tampa-based Without Walls International Church after leaving its Lakeland satellite ministry in July to form his own congregation. Randy L. Coggins and his newly created Bridge of Hope Church are defendants in a civil complaint filed last week in the 10th Judicial Circuit Court in Bartow. In the complaint, Without Walls International claims Coggins used his position as executive pastor at Lakeland’s Without Walls Central to lure members of the congregation to his own ministry, Bridge of Hope Church. The suit seeks damages in  excess of $15,000. Coggins said he wasn’t aware of the lawsuit until being told about it Monday afternoon by a reporter. He reviewed a copy of the six-page complaint. “This caught me totally by surprise, and my heart is very heavy,” said Coggins, 45. “I just pray this will be able to be resolved in a Godly and Christian manner. These are churches we’re talking about, and churches are not supposed to engage in this arena.” Coggins was hired in February as executive pastor at Without Walls Central, a North Lakeland ministry operated by Without Walls International Church Inc,  The main Tampa church, founded by Randy and Paula White in the early 1990s, once ranked as the second-largest congregation in the country. The complaint alleges that in July Coggins made “derogatory statements and allegations” about Without Walls International from the pulpit of the Lakeland branch, just before branching off to create his own church. Coggins, who uses the title “bishop,” would not respond to the details of the complaint.

Bridge of Hope Church originally met at the Lake Mirror Complex, according to a Facebook page created by the church, but recently shifted to the Seventh Day Adventist Church at 1435 Gilmore Ave. in Lakeland. Coggins declined to give the size of the congregation. The complaint accuses Coggins of breaching a code of conduct pledge he signed upon being hired and of converting “personal property, cash and assets for his personal use.” Orlando attorney Eric V. Hines, who filed the complaint on behalf of Without Walls International, declined to comment Monday. Messages left at Without Walls International and Without Walls Central were not returned Monday.

Without Walls purchased the former Carpenter’s Home Church in 2005 for $8 million, renaming the 9,000-seat sanctuary Without Walls Central. Senior pastors Scott and Cindy Thomas led the congregation until the end of last year, when they departed to form Free Life Chapel, which meets at The Lakeland Center. Without Walls International has generated controversy in recent years.

The Whites divorced in 2007. The church has faced congressional scrutiny and financial distress, along with the embarrassment of Randy White’s DUI arrest in May.

@OP,
I support Non-Interest Banking by any name, be it Islamic, Sharia, Holy Ghost etc, interest rates in a developing economy like Nigeria is way too high, everyone talks about but CBN,FG,NASS is willing to do anything about it. I believe that apart from sentiments right or wrong there is nothing wrong with Islamic Bank. Its really time Churches and GOs etc put the Tithes and Offerings to good use.

@ Pastor AIO, thanks for the lessons wink

@upendo98,

Congrats you had education ,the skills to bake and a loving family with a roof over your head to be the success you are today. Please consider those women who had to sell their bodies to feed their children, women have sold their body to raise money for hospital bills. I stopped judging Prostitutes many moons ago, because I have not walked a day in their shoes.

I actually know a $ex worker who is only 22 years, she's got minimal education but is caring the burden of her five siblings and parents on her shoulders, her father got sacked/retired from Nitel, lives in the village with little income, her mother illiterate house wife, what can job can she get with JSS3 Cert to take care of her family, what business can she do; why can she raise the capital on the mean street of Port Harcourt?

True there are those who are in the business for money, what about those whose only option at a critical moment is Opening of Legs?
Romance / Re: Can Prostitution Ever Be Justified? by mrmayor(m): 6:42pm On Jul 05, 2011
Is Prostitution Ever Justified.

Xmas 2010, a friend was confronted with a young girl who was Almost prostituting herself to my friend because her mother was in hospital with a ruptured Appendix, hospital would not operate unless she pays #18,400 naira. She begged my friend and was willing to sleep with him to save her mother, he gave her #25k and didn't sleep with her. She was lucky someone gave the money without demanding $ex, many young girls are not so lucky.

Its so easy to condemn women is this trade because you have not found yourself in very tight corner, where the diffrence between life and death is opening your legs

Is the Gospel Free? I'm not so sure but the Blessings e.g Contracts, Wives,Husbands, Children, Cars, Houses fat bank accounts etc are NOT FREE! You must pay your 10% and sow into the Pastors life to receive it. @Luluosas,

Church of God Mission! Tufiakwa. Don't get me started on your church, members of your church are one of the worst hypocrites I've met in my life, just a little behind RCCG. What exactly is decent dressing? Your Arch Bishop, Margaret Idahosa paints her face like a Masquerade (sic) sorry a cheap LovePeddler that has refused to retire, she would chased with koboko if she dears enters Deeper life or MFM.

Can you imagine this  luluosas telling I need repentance! So you think you angelic Bro Emmanuel turning back the man and his daughter has changed the man abi, think again. Your Bishop is busy scheming from poor Benin people, brain washing them with false doctrine and you are here  haemorrhaging on Skimpy Dressing. look inward boy, let your church deal with real issues that affect the society instead of superficial issues.

Now this a well Dressed Bishop of Church of God Mission with Uduahan. A painted Masquerade and a Thief. Go Figure

I don't want to derail this thread but what is Nigerian Journalist obsession with the word PENULTIMATE? Not sure they even use it correctly, using the word in every sentence has got to stop.

World English Dictionary
penultimate  (pɪˈnʌltɪmɪt)

— adj
1. next to the last

— n
2. anything that is next to the last, esp a penult

[C17: from Latin paene  almost + ultimate , on the model of Latin paenultimus ]

The word is used mostly in present tense to indicate an event is next to the last one or end.

I personally like the "SKIMPY" dresses, there is no better feeling than getting a Rock Hard Boner in church. Ejigbi jibgi. I still remember my first visit to Christ Embassy. The Choristers were wearing White that Sunday, during the service the Pastor asked all those who were there for the first time to stand, Honourable Mrmayor stood up.

They prayed for me and welcomed me with LOVE HUGS, Nairalanders the hug I got from one particular Chorister is stuck in my memory forever, I can still feel it. Ejigbi jigbi. electric flow no be small. Her jacket was open all through the service, I kept looking at her mellons, boy the Nipp/les, I no fit south o

The woman sitting in front of me had this extra tight low rider trousers on, it was just shear, I still argue with my friend who took me there that she was not wearing any panties.  cheesy

I can't remember what the pastor preached but I can't forget that tight backside, wish I could touch till today. ejigbi jigbi jigbi wink

Atheists Scheduling May 21st 'Rapture Parties'

BY ERIK HAYDENMAY 18, 2011
This weekend, a confused elderly pastor will marshal his worldwide band of followers for judgment day while bored atheists plan theoretical good-riddance "Rapture parties" to mark the non-event. May 21st is shaping up to be quite a day even if 6 p.m. on Saturday doesn't mark a rolling apocalypse through every time zone.

As the Associated Press noted, there are now 175,000+ people in a sarcastically self-explanatory Facebook group called "Post Rapture Looting" where skeptics hoping to "pick up some sweet stereo equipment" will be able to presumably pillage at their leisure after Harold followers disappear into thin air. "It's not meant to be insulting, but come on, Christians are openly scoffing at this," said one quoted humanist organizer of a different, but still sarcastic, North Carolina event.

Other--ostensibly kind-hearted but merely just enterprising--atheists are looking to cash in on gullible Family Radio followers. Two weeks ago, the Washington Post noted a service called Eternal Earth-Bound Pets USA, which takes care of cats and dogs of Christians in the event of a sudden Rapture--for an upfront fee, naturally.

The exploits of the Family Radio broadcaster have mostly provoked amusement outside true believers. But it's too bad that when everyone is bored with the meme on May 23rd, there will be people out there who will have lost their life savings in anticipation of a lie. One retired subway worker who became infatuated with Camping's teachings spent $140,000 of his retirement on billboards to spread the news. When asked by the New York Post what he'd do when the world doesn't end he replied, "I don't want to think about it."

That response displayed the same stubborn determination as Camping has exhibited in numerous interviews. Except that Harold Camping isn't parting with his savings anytime soon. The broadcaster made this remark when asked whether he'd give his money away: "what's the point?" That's the most believable thing he's said yet.
