@goshen, Churches except the Orthodox one are all registered as Private Concerns, call it NGO's if you will but it has an owner, CEO and Board of Trustees. In most cases the CEO is also the G.O, he makes all the big decisions including Rotating and Firing of Officers in this case Pastors. The Organizations is set up according to the vision of the Founder who is also the G.O. jedisco:For the Anglicans, their Bishops and Arch Bishops are elected/Chosen by Council Of Bishops. The Rt.Rev can on stay in Office Bishop for not more than 10years after which he must Retire. |
To express unbelief as an African in Africa is, well I don't think there are any real words to describe that African. I lost the only woman I truly, totally, ever loved because of my Unbelief, she couldn't handle the fact that I don't want any church wedding, that I won't be leading early morning prayers, going to church or watching multiple Christian channels. |
abdul01:I totally agree, your Prophet Mohhamed was a proven Paedophile. Like Paedophile Prophet Mohamad like Paedophile Ex-Gov Zamfara State now Senator. Can't remember his stuppid name |
nice4life:Make una no vex, e don tey I go church. Is Living Faith Church not the same as Winners Chapel? |
I'm with Pastor Chris & Joagbaje on this one. Seriously apart from Paying Tithes and almost Cult-like Adoration of Pastor Chris, I just love Christ Embassy. Kai I still remember the Love Hug I got the first day I was in that Church, their babes are the finest, ejibi jibgi jigbi. As for me, when I Lux myself I just think of picture of OBJ , nothing indecent in that |
Pongo:Hahaha Nairaland una go kill persin o . I thought Nigerians are full of the Spirit and Anointing? Even Shildren of God or abi na MOG dey fear Witch? ![]() I go to my Village very often, travelling from PH to the many Mangrove Fishing Villages that dot Rivers State is fun, I actually look forward going to Fishing villages not just my own. Many were almost abandoned due to militancy but life has returned to normal. If you guys are scared of small small Witches ( not that I believe in them) you would shitt your pants when " Owu Amapu" that's Mamiwata devotees smile at you ![]() |
erico2k2:Ok, you may disagree with me but I think you are missing my point here, I've also done my own bit of travelling. Let me expalin using the recent Subsidy Protest ala Occupy Nigeria. During the fuel protest many wondered why there was little or no protest in Rivers State especially Port Harcourt, the " Better Informed Diasporan" would have you believe Ijaw people by extension Rivers people didn't join because of Ethnic reasons but for those of us on the ground, those who are actually living in PH know the real reasons why PHC was calm. I may see a news headline and ignore it as not important when I see the News platform that is reporting that event based on the local knowledge I may have about the paper, the owner, the Editor etc but a Diasporian would lap on it sharing on Facebook and other Social Media. |
@Niapay, I'm really impressed by the information and products you offer, especially that machines are coming from Europe and not from China or India, I have nothing against the Chinese or the Indians. I have a couple of questions 1. Tried going to your website but it's offline, any reason for that? 2. Are the Soft Drink machines new or reconditioned? Thanking you. |
@Preciousangel, The best way to serve Legal Papers on Hard/Difficult or Refused to be Served people is to publish in a newspaper. There are so many Legal Notices served in Nigerian newspapers everyday, you can look up advert prices from their sites. Best of Luck. |
efisher:While it is true that you tend to Know what is Happening mostly from your easy access to more information and you can post more on NL, there is however a world of Difference between Knowing and Experiencing. A typical example is Knowing what is happening in your Village and actually Living and Experiencing the events in your Village. Kobojunkie:Ok, granted you have better Data but the average Nigerian has a better grasp of the Nigerian Reality. |
bashr8:Aljharem is a Kanuri man not Yoruba, though he claims to have an Igbo mother, no one believes him ![]() Nigeria, whether or not you believe in her needs this to be true, too many of the Political Elites from Traditional Rulers, LGA Chairman, to President act with Impunity, the Rights of Ordinary Citizens are trampled upon everyday. If the ICC prosecutes OBJ, would a wake up call to all Politicians and by extension the Security Agencies that Gross Abuse of Civilians is OVER |
adamaw2tuf:I don't know what cave you crawled out of but its high time Nigerian Rulers are brought to Justice. There has been so many acts of Genocide in this hell hole called Nigeria usually in the name of maintaining National Security, what I still don't get is how people like you defend Human Rights abuse, Genocide, Ethnic Cleansing just because the Perpetrators comes from your village! |
Mr Negro_Ntns, I think the post got it wrong to say ICJ while I think he meant to say International Criminal Court. ICC
Who are all these illiterates using ICJ as a threat for intimidating the society? ehn, who are these fools? First of all, ICJ does not recognise lawsuits or entertain legal cases filed by non-sovereign entities. This Zaki is fooling his villagers to soothe their emotions. Pretty soon he will ask them to vote him or raise funds so he can lawyer on their behalf. Can someone please tell Tivis that Zaki's lawsuit is a bogus claim fabricated to swindle their pockets. ICJ only entertains legal suit between sovereign powers, not between individuals . . . its not a civil court and it's not human rights court for individual grievances. Tiv of Benue is a component of a sovereign state which Obj was the ruler of. . . . one and the same entity! Lawsuit tossed in thrash. . . . . . .!
ICC at a glance The International Criminal Court (ICC) is an independent, permanent court that tries persons accused of the most serious crimes of international concern, namely genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. The ICC is based on a treaty, joined by 120 countries (effective as of 1 February 2012). This my 2 bottles of kaikai, I just paid my Mai guard/Security man today right here in Port Harcourt, I pay him exactly the minimum wage of 18k/ $120/ not because its a living wage but it is what I can comfortable afford for now with all the responsibilities that I have. Mr David (Security man) has a wife (petty trader) and five children all under the age of 16yrs. Rent ( I Bedroom) 7 sharing = 5000 Transport ( Bus) 50 per drop , 100 to and fro x 6 days = 600 x 4 weeks. = 2400 That leaves about 10,600/$70 for feeding of 7 people per month! Its just crazy. I don't know what his wife brings, so my input is based on the 18k I pay him. I sincerly believe and know that there are people who earn less than my Mr David, they stay with friends sharing 1 room to make ends meet, many can't afford to educate their children, last year I paid Mr David's children school fees to relieve the pressure from him but many are not so lucky. |

Typical example of Muslim killing for no reason By Associated Press, Friday, January 27, 3:37 AM KINGSTON, Ontario — Evidence against three people accused of killing half their family over reasons of honor is “irrefutable,” a prosecutor told jurors Thursday in closing arguments. Laurie Lacelle told the jury that Afghan-born Mohammad Shafia, 58, his wife Tooba Yahya, 42, and their son Hamed, 21, were responsible for planning and carrying out the murders of their four family members. 3 Comments Weigh InCorrections? She urged the jury to find all three guilty in what the prosecution has alleged was a quadruple honor killing of Shafia’s three daughters and his other wife in a polygamous relationship. The parents and son, Hamed, have pleaded not guilty to four counts of murder and defense lawyers told the jury in closing arguments the evidence suggests the deaths were an accident. The accused allegedly killed the daughters because they dishonored the family by defying its disciplinarian rules on dress, dating, socializing and going online. The fourth victim was Shafia’s first wife who was living with him and his second wife, Tooba Mohammad Yahya, 41, in Montreal. The polygamous relationship, if revealed, could have resulted in their deportation. Police made a grisly discovery in the summer of 2009 in canal locks east of Toronto: In a submerged Nissan car were the bodies of three teenage sisters and a 52-year-old woman. The prosecution alleges it was a premeditated murder, staged to look like an accident after it was carried out. “Shafia, Tooba and Hamed had decided that there was a diseased limb on their family tree,” Lacelle said. “Their decision was to trim the diseased limb and prune the tree back to the good wood.” But defense lawyers told the jury in closing arguments the evidence does indeed fit with the deaths being an accident. The court has heard evidence that it appears the four made no attempt to escape the car through an open window, and the bodies were found eerily suspended inside. Defense lawyer Peter Kemp suggested that’s plausible in an accident scenario. Kemp has told the jury that there are too many unknowns to be able to convict the accused, saying the jury doesn’t know where or how the alleged murders happened. Lacelle presented wire taps and cell phone records from the Shafia family in court. In one phone conversation, the father says his daughters “betrayed us immensely.” The wiretaps, which capture Shafia spewing vitriol about his dead daughters, calling them treacherous and whores and invoking the devil to defecate on their graves, were a focal point of the trial. But defense lawyers argued that at no point in the intercepts do the accused say they drowned the victims. Fazil Javad, Shafia’s brother-in-law, said Shafia tried to enlist him in a plan to drown the oldest daughter. Judge Robert Maranger will give the jury final instructions Friday. Closing arguments lasted well into the evening Thursday after a bomb threat earlier delayed proceedings. Police Constable Steve Koopman couldn’t say if the security threat was related to the Shafia trial. The family had left Afghanistan in 1992 and lived in Pakistan, Australia and Dubai before settling in Canada in 2007. Shafia, a wealthy businessman, married Yahya because his first wife could not have children. The months leading up to the deaths were not happy ones in the Shafia household, the court has heard. Zainab, the oldest at 19, was forbidden to attend school for a year because she had a young Pakistani-Canadian boyfriend, and she fled to a shelter, terrified of her father, the court was told. http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/americas/closing-arguments-conclude-in-canadian-honor-killing-trial/2012/01/26/gIQAH4BDUQ_story.html |
LagosShia:I, my honourable self fight you? No Sir. I'm not holding up the candle for Frosbel or Christians either, they can do that themselves. LagosShia, hardly a day goes by without hearing some mad news from the Muslim world, last night on CNN it was Honour Killing case in Canada, where a Father,Mother, Brother killed half of their own in family all the name of Islamic Honour. Why are Muslim willing to kill for the least mundane reason? ![]() |
LagosShia:Ask Who? The Egyptian Mullah who issued a Fatwa against Chevrolet? Ask LagosShia and Jehovah Witnesses who says Jesus was Stalkified? LagosShia:You didn't answer the Kweshion, Why Are Muslims Always Always Angry? |
LagosShia:Ok. Assuming he was " Stalkified" why is the Egyptian Mullah issuing Fatwas against those who buy Chevrolet? LagosShia why are you Muslims always angry? It can't just be a Nigerian thing, I've met Iraqi, French even the Black Muslims of Nation Of Islam in the Uk, it's always the same, simmering anger just waiting to explode. I just don't get it, why are you so angry at an article Frosbel did not write? |
Pukkah:Ha ha Former Governor already? How are the might fallen.Best news I heard in a long time, btw I'm no PDP fan. eGuerrilla:Now that is wicked, you don't kick a governor when he is down ![]() |

Hi Kaymed, A friend is looking for a his first car but can't find what he likes right here in Port Harcourt, his budget is #600k-#700k and he prefers the Japanese cars, can you kindly suggest cars in clean working condition you can get for that budget. Thanking you in advance. |
Hi denniseky, I have a good friend who is looking to buy his car, he has checked out car dealers right here in Port Harcourt, did not find what he likes and is right now planning on taking a trip to Cotonu but I advised him to wait till I try out Nairaland dealers as I know they are trustworthy. Please can you suggest Japanese models for between #650k-#700k. Please let it be clean and in good working condition ![]() Thanking You. |
You can't Reverse Engineer anything when you are spending more time; 1. Watching EPL, La Liga etc all day. 2. When you in churches receiving slaps, Night Vigil, Tithing and cursing real and imagined enemies. 3. When you watching Big Brother Africa, Nollywood, Multina Dance hall etc. Many people without SSCE, Degrees,Msc's, Phd's etc are trying the best they can in this hostile country called Nigeria, example being our very own Seun Osewa of Nairaland. btw, Reverse Engineering is ridiculed as Aba Made. I know the stress I'm going true right now just to set up a Manufacturing SME, from sourcing Funds, Generator/Diesel etc. There is so much you can brainstorm before you join league of Briefcase Companies looking for Government Contract |

frosbel:Shut up Frosbel I thought you're smarter than this? |
Port Harcourt is quite, Banks, Schools, Govt offices remain closed. No Protest Anywhere. The allegation in town by Human Rights Groups and it's all over the airwaves is that Labour Officials collected money from Amaechi after visiting government house yesterday and called off the Protest that was supposed to take of from Isaac Boro Park. They ( NLC/TUC) distributed money to people gathered at the start up point to go home and observed the strike. The shameful thing is the NLC secretary was on radio to say yes they gave money for " Pure Water and Transport"! The remains Heavy Security presence, shops and markets are backing in business. No Fuel except at NNPC stations, transport fare if high. |
Sweetnecta:Stop sniffing glue abegi. Which woman you dey talk about? frosbel: Tell him jare.Joagbaje: ![]() |
frosbel:Frosbel, I'm speechless I commend you for standing up and holding on to your Faith especially on NL, for challenging and exposing those you believe are using the Christian Faith for selfish gains. Love to share a pint with you when next I'm in the UK. |
I'm Anti PDP, I voted for GEJ out of sentiment. GEJ is right on this one. I will use Rivers State as an example of how State Police could be abused. In October 2007 Mr Celestine Omeha was governor of Rivers State after K-Leg elections, till he was kicked out of office by the Supreme Court and the Police (Federal) were instructed to provide Security for Rotimi Amaechi to be installed as governor. Just imagine for once, if Omeha refused to vacate Brick House because he has the backing of Rivers State Police, do you send in the Army and Navy to install Amaechi? Imagine Alao Akala with State Police with Thug Marshall Adedebu as State Security Adviser (SSA) EFCC couldn't arrest Ibori because some hooligans prevented it, imagine Delta State Police under Ibori/Uduaghan! You will need Delta Force to arrest him |
I just think of picture of OBJ , nothing indecent in that
