VaselineCrew:See, stop exciting your mind with technological advancement that can't be mass produced. You think if it's that easy, US will have over 20 Nuclear Power Plants? Same with France with over 50 Nuclear Reactors. |
Reference:Well put. The average Nigerian only knows nuclear to be nuclear weapons. They love show of power between US and North Korea that anything nuclear means bomb and destruction to them. |
TMKsouth:You are very correct. And South Africa is miles ahead of Nigeria in terms of everything technology. In education the same. |
JetStar:This is a wrong analysis to only subject the cost to the cost of production. Nuclear surely do have larges start up or build cost but it remains the cheapest longterm. Have you checked the cost of maintaining hydro? The cost of gas? etc.
|
mzhazel:Chernobyl exploded first because of the flood, not design faults. There's hardly any known Nuclear power plant disaster caused by design faults. Chernobyl was a civil engineering design fault. Simple. You are just complicating issues and saying nothing. You can equally say the same of Ajaokuta, etc. A nuclear power plant is not only monitored by host country, rather other countries. Also, the construction is expensive but there's no embezzlement of such fund. It's known already and nothing of such can happen. |
meetme01:Coal? Sunlight? With heavy rainfall in Africa? You mentioned Hiroshima and Nagazaki yet you forgot it's a nuclear bomb not nuclear power plant. Some of you do not truly understand these energy concepts. I don't want to talk about coal (its never an option). Opting for solar energy is the worst option for a country, small countries let alone a large countries like us. It's cheap, but it can't support large industries. You need a vast land to put it and you also need to get a lot of batteries which in itself isn't good. |
NwaNimo1:Lol, solar is only good for small countries. Putting money on solar in Nigeria is purely a waste of time. It will amount to nothing. |
jerryunit48:You fuel used for nuclear power generation is a low enriched fuel. It's not weapon grade. They are two entirely different things. |
donbachi:He just told you you can't make any meaningful progress without stable electricity. Don't you know everything revolves around electricity? |
Fidelismaria: |
PrinxArthur1:Which one is Russian BN800. What is the technology. Reactors are not called like Aircraft. Mention the country accompanied by the reactor technology. |
Jaqenhghar:US have a lot of Nuclear Reactors. Do you even know how many people are in US. Over 300 million. They can't use one source of power. Do you know the number of nuclear reactors in US alone? If you think Nigeria will ever get close to electricity stability in the next century without considering Nuclear, then you had better wake up from that slumber. |
MrStan11:Honestly. Even some African nations are seriously advancing. Imagine SA of yesterday has set their house in order. They now offer Nigerians scholarships to come and study in their great universities. But you will see youths instead of being ashamed of themselves, proudly say we are not ready. |
Jobia: ![]() It could be very scary watching a nuclear accident. However, even the accident is not anything closer to the risk of living in Nigeria not to talk of the Covid-19. |
KingAzubuike:South Africa has already advanced it's construction of a NPP. While many of you will continue to think you are superior to other African nation, sooner, you will realize how backwards you are. |
electromagnito:Congrats. I am glad you got a Ph.D offer. This is a great step for you than doing another masters. Wishing you the best bro. |
Skymoore1004:Lol, France is more or less like UK. Come, study and leave. It's even very difficult to work and study. Extremely difficult. You will enjoy your stay here if you are funded. Coming to France hoping to work and study is actually suicidal. Depending on your school anyway. But generally, it's very difficult as doing so will deeply affect your studies. To be forward with the truth, it's hard to effectively and efficiently work and study here in France. For my school it's impossible. There's a Mexican classmate of mine who was living big in his country that he was able to afford my tuition fee which is 12k euro/year. He paid the tuition fee hoping he will work and study for his living expenses. In my school, it's impossible to work and study. So when the little he had finished, the guy deferred his admission and returned back to Mexico. This is the reality. Except you have all the money saved or scholarship, coming to France with the hope of working and studying isn't recommended. You can try it for public schools but for grande ecoles, it's impossible. This is true for science related courses. |
With the increased risk of living in Nigeria, having up to 3 becomes important. You can't begin to think like someone living in US or other developed countries when you know you are living in a high risk country. I do wish both of you the best, but bro, just born 3 or 4. |
GIDIBANKZ:Email sent. You can remove your email address |
Davidson5:The environmental implication of mining Uranium lasts forever. Mining alone constitutes 72% of environmental problems of Nuclear Power. Except in cases of Nuclear Accidents, I think it's best to operate a NPP than to be mining Uranium. Little wonder France stopped all it's mining activities and focused in other countries. Unfortunately, Africa is only good in making noise, leaving in delusion of how rich they are or how wise they are. Niger is so dumb. Nothing stopped them from exploring NPP option like SA and Ghana. Namibia too. Namibia alone takes 46% of global release of radioactive materials to the environment caused by the mining activities happening in the country. Same thing done for oil, we don't have working refinery, yet we have oil. No one wants to take responsibility yet, unfortunately, the world is moving forward and we are spiraling full circle backwards. Each time I see pictures taking in Nigeria, each time I see pictures coming from Lagos, Onitsha, Kano, etc, I weep. We are doomed people. |
So I decided to step out to check the compliance against the compliance seen in Nigeria. I was actually the only one outside. However, towards the evening, you'd see people jogging around, or taking a walk with their dogs. Also, the French government has not done anything for individuals. All it's measure has been for SMEs and companies.

Hi Guys, I trust we are all safe in this challenging times. Covid-19 has no doubt affected everyone and everything. 2020 is no longer a year to pursue any dream, rather, a year to stay alive. It's as if everything is on standstill. For us, though lectures are being done online, truth is, Nuclear Engineering is most hit. Most of our courses require we use or stay close to the department network in order access some applications with strict license. These applications are sensitive applications that are well secured and it's use strictly monitored. Also, other hands on activities/courses like lab work are also cancelled. We are only left with few theoretical course. Interesting anyway. For students and lecturers, we all miss the physical engagements. Some of our courses has been pushed to September (About 2 or 3). Another aspect the emergence of covid-19 affected badly is in the area of examination. The French would naturally prefer to subject you into their usual hard system, thus, online examination model has not received much acceptance by most the french people especially my school. I wouldn't know if they will push some exams till September or proceed to do it online. However, one of our lecturer has already proposed an oral examination where he will be asking us questions himself and watch you respond to them. This is a bad idea to my classmates as some of us are already preparing weapons of mass destruction should we be allowed to write exam online; being monitored by Time/duration of the exam. It's been predicted that Africa would be worst hit by Covid-19, and from the way things are going in Nigeria, I am sure that prediction will happen sooner than predicted. I have taken time to study the response of Nigerians to Covid-19 and realized we are not yet serious. Everyone including the government. Why we play politics in everything beats my imagination. Well, it's the reason why we are less developed country. We truly do not understand how things are done in civilized society, I just weep for the country. Please keep staying safe |
GIDIBANKZ:Thanks for reading. Let's start via email. It works best for me, and I respond to mails faster than Whatsapp messages. Please stay safe |
kaffy4tope:Nothing stops you from stating the price. People want to guess if it's within their budget. Some don't have the strength to negotiate. |
sapientia:There's a protocol for protecting the president. The president don't even have a right to his own security. There's a unit responsible for the president's security. Once you get close to the president, you will be required to wear every protective equipment necessary to keep the president safe. It also means not getting close to the president. He won't wear a mask except when he is going to a crowded area which for now isn't possible. |
kingyang:Of course .Usually, Corolla nah hot cake. I sold mine, 2004 for 1.250 after one year of driving it. |
kingyang: Nigerians. Even if it was stolen ![]() Bro check out the car nah. If he sells it for 1.6, just know it was stolen or it has a fault |
successemma: ![]() Which theory has failed? You know what a scientific theory is? And these are even theories of modern physics. My brother, it has never failed. And you want me to believe which theory? The imaginations of your heart with no proof? Something someone in his room developed and sold. It didn't pass through any proof of concept? We are bigger than this, you guys are drawing us backwards |
sonnie10:Do you mind them. I converted everything to wavelength for easy comparison because we are talking about 5G network, so I had to convert to frequency for easy overview. I never even mentioned 50kGHz anywhere. |
Denko2721987:It's because of people like you that this article was written. Unfortunately, you guys has been sent to Nigeria to ensure we remain timid, stagnant, and hundreds of years behind development. You have so conditioned your mind that you lost taste and sense of objectivity. Now, since you know what is bigger than me, can you show me with proofs beyond your conspiracy theory. Ever imagined that the things you said is bigger than me is just the delusional thoughts of people that anyone can also think about? It's so baseless. Yet, you are excusing theories that won noble prize in Physics, which is also the basis of the phone you are using to type this trash. If you guys are not interested, why not leave us to move forward. What have we done? ![]() |
patosky3310:Lol, it's not possible for it to cause Covid-19. Neither will it aid the propagation of Covid-19. Also, 5G is harmless and poses no health danger to anyone |
awhybliss:You guys are never getting tired. Upon the extent the op went in showing you evidences, the loads of contents from well read people with experience, you chose to believe in the delusion you called facts you created, sold and bought in your room? And tomorrow, you will say Buhari or another person is dumb. God have mercy on Africans.
