You CANNOT send money from Nigeria with western union or moneygram. You can only receive. Your best option is going to Cotonou, unless you have someone that can send it for you from another country. Just make sure you're not a maga |
It's a pity despite the bad image Nigeria receive on account of internet related activities many Nigerians remains uninformed about so many things on the internet. Recently, paypal started allowing Nigerians use their service legitimately. But, from what I'm reading online of user experiences it appears Nigerians are having problems with completing transactions and as usual we're quick to blame it on Nigeria instead of paypal. Therefore, I decided to create this thread to let people share their experience with the new Nigeria paypal. The reason I'm doing this is to get everybody causious of paypal. I opened my first paypal account sometime in 2003 not long it was founded. From my person experience with paypal before they arrived Nigeria I can tell you it's not a perfect payment option though they've hyped themselves to be believed as such. For your information paypal was founded by a hacker who wanted a method he could use to accept payment online anonymously. And it still bear remnants of that original purpose it was founded. You will do better just using paypal to accept payment fraudulently or legally as the case may be than using it to PAY. I can go as far as telling you they lean towards sellers most of the time than buyers and they do not truly care about both, all they truly care for is taking their commission from you after a transaction. Just go to google and type "paypal is a scam" and you will see countless users complaining. If you do not want to tell sad tales about your money DO NOT use paypal to buy anything online other than ''download products'' of $5, $10, $50, such things. That's the only thing it's good for. Once you begin using it to send or accept payments of from $100 you will start having a bad taste. The whole paypal thing is still an idea in process. Paypal is not yet a standard means of payment and they have no rules. They keep shifting the goal post any time you have a complaint against them. They don't tell you all this but I want Nigerians know. Let us know: 1. Have you used your Nigeria paypal to complete a transaction without problem?. 2. Was this transaction a product shipped you or an online service like a download?. |
0rion: His money is not gone. Ebay has changed now. I only advice the op to talk to ebay and PayPal to get his money and he shouldn't continue with the transaction with the seller. I won't be surprised if the seller doesn't have the ops moneyYes, it's possible the seller haven't been credited. But, it's on one condition and that's if the seller is not what ebay call a "power seller" or is not a "paypal mastercard holder" or and "ebay mastercard holder". Otherwise, I can tell you for sure he/she have already received the money and paypal will side him. Ebay own paypal so there's no need talking of them as 2 different companies. Whether the seller have received the money already isn't the issue now because at the end of the day paypal will take a decision which I don't see going on the side of the buyer, especially if the seller is a fraud. OP, pray the seller is a genuine seller. Forget about his power status and many reviews. If he's legit seller you may get a refund, if he's not forget that money. I'm sorry. |
I know everything you're passing through but I don't have time to write a long response here. I'm sorry to tell you you may not receive your refund, if the seller can show them a prove your item was shipped (including fake prove). The fact, the seller is still relisting items mean he have no case to answer. You can kiss that money goodbye. NB: This incident have nothing to do with Nigeria. Back in the days I once accepted payment with paypal from a US customer and he/she did not receive the stuff but paypal sided me when the sender opened a case. I also have an opposite case where I ordered something with paypal and never received it neither did I get a refund till today. Paypal also sided with the seller. PAYPAL IS STILL A PAYMENT OPTION THAT IS STILL TRYING TO EVOLVE INTO A STANDARD. THIS'S WHY PEOPLE HAVE DIFFICULTIES USING IT. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO TELL THIS TYPE OF TALES IN FUTURE DON'T USE PAYPAL TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN PAY FOR A DOWNLOAD. What happened to you is the ebay or and paypal ''bot'' has wrongfully triggered your transaction as fraud. Much like Nairaland ''bot'' banning you wronfully. This can happen to anybody no matter what country you come from. You people should stop negating Nigeria out of ignorance. The most fruadulent countries online are; US, China, India. |
mu2sa2: Hard to find a northerner in this type of crime.Northerners in government stole Nigeria blind between 1980 -1998. Northeners in the military instituted corruption in Nigeria as we know it. Northerners are the reason Nigeria is the way it is today. Unless you want to tell me a crime is only a crime, if it happens in Malaysia. |
The only thing wrong here is he didn't invest his income. No matter how much Africans steal from Britain, all revenues from African scammers put together will never equal one millionth of what Europe stole from Africa. In Zambia or Namibia things were so bad that for Germans to show-off that they truly visited Africa each person must go back to Germany with 5 to 10 African skulls after raping women, dupping the people, stealing, killing the people. It was a taboo to return to Germany without at least 2 African skulls because you would be seen as an unsuccessful traveler. I heard they've been pressured to return the skulls recently. You can't beat nature. The law of cause and effect and consequences never fails. Britain, it's pay back time!. |
@OP Let me know answer to this question. 1. Do you feel like having sex with him? |
"What most of us do not understand is that there is a particular group of military officers and powerful civilians that participated in the events that led up to and the civil war itself that believes that Nigeria is a `spoil` of their war and that they will personally chose who governs it at their whims & caprices. People like Obj, Danjuma, Ibb, Jerry Useni, Buhari etc". @luvinhuby. This your statement above is the real problem with Nigeria. And it's as pure as snow. I have long maintained that there are some powerful people that must be dead before Nigeria can progress. Some of them you've mentioned. As long as these people are alive Nigeria is going nowhere, unless there's a bloody revolution that ends the status quo. |
I like the tone of this letter. This's what Jonathan should have done. The tone of this reply by Asari is exactly what Obasanjo need because it carries the same weight as Obasanjo's letter to Jonathan. Jonathan have proved himself to be a very weak man who can't fight for himself, I was so shocked how he sounded like a junior staff replying to the master whereas Obasanjo made it clear he's no friend to him. |
Honestly, I was disappointed by Jonathan's reply but not in the sense of what the northern elders are saying. Rather, in the sense that it was very soft. It wasn't punchy enough. Jonathan should have bare it all instead of appearing as a junior staff writing to a senior. The cat is out of the bag!. Anybody who know Jonathan should tell him incase he still don't get it. He seems to be politically very slow, whereas Obasanjo is fast and have shown signals he wouldn't be backing him come 2015 so he should strike him where it hurt, if necessary. Because if such opportunity comes obasanjo's way he will surely use it to maximum |
@Bigx. This is someone you're trying to educate yet he still jump ship claiming he already know. You know, off nairaland I will never have anything to do with such people. He claim "I too know" yet he know nothing. Actually, all cards can either be "debit" or "credit" card. And there're all ATM compliant. I don't really care whether he get it but some readers to not get misinformed. Finally, as regards where the card is accepted online depends on a number of factors; including the merchant/ the card processing company used by the online store. So, some stores can accept your card online while orders can reject the card even though it have plenty money inside. |
@Bigx. Thank you, but I wish you never made that post yet. Cause I'm sure the guy don't know what he's saying and I wanted to follow this up until he acknowledge his ignorance |
@Afam4ever. What do you mean by "for ATM" and "general use". Please clarify |
@Afam4rever. You can pass your message without insults, please. You said "I know Hostgator doesn't accept GTB atm". Now, you came back to admit some of them do work. You are the one who need to learn not me. By the way, you do not have any capacity to educate me about banks and cards or domains. |
@adewasco2k. He said "I know Hostgator doesn't accept GTB atm". That's an ABSOLUTE statement. Meaning he's 100% sure no GTB card will work. It's not the same thing as saying "I know Hostgator doesn't accept "some" GTB atm". There's a BIG difference between this two statements. And I wouldn't have said anything if he've said the later. |
@Afam4ever. You said "I know Hostgator doesn't accept GTB atm". But someone proved you wrong thereby correcting that notion for all of us. Why can't you simply acknowledge your mistake and thank adewasco2k?. |
@Quatermaine. No, nobody inpired Nkrumah. Again, as @Mikeapollo stated Nkrmah founded the struggle. Before Nkrumah no other African have thought about going against the whites. Nkrumah gave birth to Mandela as far as the word FREEDOM concerned. |
@Mikeapollo. Thank you my brother. The real African hero is Kwame Nkrumah. Nkrumah himself was the inspiration behind Mandela's struggle in the first place. |
@Quatermaine. That rhethoric question is meaningless. If you have reasons why Mandela should be placed above Nkrumah tell us. That's what this thread is all about. |
Good question but the answer is clear to anybody who know African history. If you were to place Mandela and Nkrumah on that ladder there's no doubts Nkrumah will be sitting ontop. Even Nelson Mandela knows it. Nkrumah started what Mandela stood for and Mandela learnt from Nkrumah. Nkrumah is the grand father of pan-Africanism and African freedom. Infact, Mandela is a student of Nkrumah. |
Scam! scam!! scam!!!. My people beware!. Multinational drug companies are behind all these threats. There's economic depression in America and Europe. Big multinational pharmaceutical companies need your money. That's the end game. Whatever you do don't forget they've enslaved and colonized our fore-fathers before using same strategy |
Let me add that some of this so called massive hack news are scams. It will all end us that you pay to upgrade your anti-virus which of course is theirs. I'am aware McAfee have been running this scam for ages. White people know how to run serious billion $ scams. It's same way multinational drug companies keep threatening people of HIV virus and Aids which is not more dangerous than malaria and tuberclosis. |
The governor is not serious. This is not an apology but a political statement to rescue his image |
@Paranorman. No, you are not totally correct. Everything google suggests have actually been searched by others in the past. Artificial inteligence doesn't mean google manufactures those search terms. Yes, Google cannot pop up a search term unless it had been actually searched for many thousands of times. Artificial inteligence is simply their alogrim bringing up similar search terms alphabetically when you type. Google do not make-up search terms. NEVER. @Blackteeth. Everything suggested by google has been searched "many thousands of times" before the auto suggest engine pick it up. Again, google do not manufacture those search terms. Rather, it's simply suggesting to you similar things others have searched previously. As bizzare as those search terms looks there has all been searched for |
@dryakson. Thank you my brother for the assistance. When you take your time to check the dictionary you always find out Mr. Patrick is making a lot of sense. And don't mind these empty noise makers everywhere on NL. |
@Uyi Iredia & Vivly. Both of you are bigger than what you want to descend to. There's no need to quarrel, please. Nobody is perfect, even white people do make mistakes when they speak English, same way you do make mistakes when you speak your dialect. |
@Vivly. You actually said that?. There's nothing like small minority or smaller minority or smallest monority. It's the minority. Again, it doesn't matter how small in the minority. |
@A-ZeD. Minority already suggest small. It's ok. It doesn't matter how small. |
Good job!. The one I have issues with is "original copy" there may be others but it's minor. Copy and original copy is not the same thing. Example; Can I buy a copy of the Nigerian constitution?. YES. Can I buy the original copy of the Nigerian constitution?. NO. Did you bring a copy of your birth certificate?. YES, I have it. Did you bring the original copy of your birth certificate?. NO, it's at home. |
@jennykadry. Thank you!. But even if they don't have complete papers is not a reason to abandon them. Hope you read that other countries came for their citizens. |
You begin to wonder why you should be a law abiding citizen. Pakistanis, Ethiopians even Niger republic came to rescue their citizens but Nigerian representatives in Saudi gave ZERO care for their own. We all know everything have a "fake" but for a country to have a fake is something else. I can't believe I'm living in a fake country! |
I recently migrated from Nokia to android devices but I don't see any big deal in here. The hype around these things is overly outrageous!. And the batteries run out very quickly. I will be back to Nokia any time I need a new device. |
