The fact Lampard hasn't signed any new players will always work in his favour but Chelsea actually have a pretty good squad of players even without new signings. I believe he's doing well enough for a manager in the big leagues for the first time so far.

Lampard didn't have to rebuild his squad and make several changes like Ole. Not saying Ole is doing it well in fact to me he's doing a poor job of rebuilding his squad but before the season started I expected us to finish outside the too 4. Maybe 6th. So if he finishes 5th, he's done ok and will argue he's improved on the previous season. Jury is still out on Ole and as much as I would have loved him to succeed at united, I don't really like what I'm seeing so far.

My only problem is changing Ole alone isnt the solution. Woodward also has to go.

he already rejected us. So highly unlikely. Not sure its worth being defensive over though. Bayern make smart decisions usually atleast better than we do so it more about Bayern being smart than anything else.

How did it go?
It didn't go well. Benfica were all over him. Forced into workmanlike performance which was ok showed some glimpses of quality though. I like the fact he's quick with good touch he'll need to improve and hopefully be consistent.

Young has been a very good servant to the club. I don't begrudge him wanting to leave because the club has been messing him around about renewing his contract. Now Inter came and the club were then scrambling to offer him a new deal. I only wish it wasn't done mid season like this. He's still been a better option than Shaw.

Of course we're biased. We have the slight edge in attack and midfield while they might have the edge in defence. I'll call gk a draw. So we win.

In football? I can't believe this.
I can. Elampiro rarely watches matches. He looks at stats which he needs to affirm his opinion. His statement confirms it. So if you want to keep arguing with him good luck.

My only annoyance with Pogba is that he loses the ball too frequently and when he's playing close to his defense, it creates problem whenever he loses the ball
My problem with him is that his attitude stinks and he lacks intensity.

This was the genesis of the current argument.

The arguement did not begin with 'Pogba will score 20 goals for Liverpool strikers'. The hypothesis submitted by two guys here was that Pogba will score 20 goals for United with the current striker. So I had to prove with his previous records that he doesn't have that ability. But you jumped in and changed the argument.

I didn't change the argument. Are you denying you said man utd's midfielders were better than Liverpool's if not due to the poor output of the utd attackers? So why is Pogba not considered in that group of midfielders?

I added Pogba's assists to my comment. Go and check. Secondly, you still missed the genesis of the argument. The argument was not Pogba vs McTominay. It was an argument about Pogba's productivity in the current team. This is the problem, some people don't understand the basis of an argument before jumping in. The question is, with Pogba in the current team, will his contribution make us compete for the title? He has actually been here for about four years and he keeps getting worse from his first season.

If you were talking about the current team you should not have mentioned di maria, Rooney etc.

No, you misunderstood the purpose of the stats

Thats the problem with watching football through the prism of stats. Anyone can use whichever stays suits your point of view which you do a lot. Doesn't make you right though.

Paul Pogba gives the ball away far too much in dangerous position, he doesn't take care of the ball well, that's not Pep ideal player. I am sorry,he will not get into Pep team.

De Bruyne, their most creative player, works his socks off for the team, he can press, track back and play a pass first time and not dilly-dallying with the ball.
This is a much better line of argument against Pogba. DeBruyne is definitely better than Pogba as his contribution shows. My main issue with Pogba is not his lack of quality but his lack of intensity. When I see DeBruyne play I always wish Pogba could do the same.

For the record, this argument came when some implied Pogna would give 20 goals if played regularly. But stats dont in anyway support that. MrTA7 wants to change the arguement to McTominay and Fred vs Pogna.

I never said those guys will score 20

Ok. I never said anyone would score 20.

First you said our midfielders were doing fine that the attackers were the ones who weren't good enough. You maintained this position for a few weeks that McT and Fred's passes would equal more goals for better strikers like those at Liverpool. But that argument doesn't sem to extend to when Pogba is in the team.

Secondly you in talking about Pogba's contribution you omitted assists and when it was brought up you didn't compare it to Fred and McT who you said were doing better than Pogba but you compared to di Maria, Rooney etc. Just seems very convenient.

You definitely shift arguement and stats to suit your point of view.

Pogba is overrated. We stand a better chance of finishing in the Top 4 without him in the side. I will say sell him, now that is stock is still high.

He doesn't work hard enough for the team, and tends to slow than our counter attacking football by dwelling on the ball for far too long and can't track back to save his life. And you think Pep will allow someone that jog around the pitch gets into his team? He will not get into Pep Manchester City team.

He his just a flat track bully that disappears in big games. We still don't know his best position, we don't need such headache at the moment.
I agree he is definitely overrated. But the haters and his fans are on two extreme ends. The truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I don't see any difference whenever Pogba is out of the team from when he is in. In fact there have been times his absence immediately meant better results since his second season here.
So its not the attackers fault when Pogba was there but it was their fault when Fred and McT where creating?

Pogba has only been able to hit double digit in Assist just once with 10 Assists

Something Di Maria achieved in just 20 EPL starts.
Nani achieved twice
Rooney achieved about 5 consecutive seasons
Valencia achieved about two times.

Yet Pogba is creative.
Why are you comparing to di Maria and others not the Fred and mcT you said are better than he is?

I think Fred is more creative than Henderson.

Henderson though is good at long passes.
Fred hasn't shown creativity. He has played some decent passes forward but not much and not consistently. I'm not convinced he has shown enough to prove he's more creative than Henderson who is probably the least creative regular midfielder for Liverpool.
