This is funny. How do you expect to convert somebody who has had no prior experience with christianity? In other words how do you convince him that your religion is the only true one?
What if he reads the bible and tells you it doesn't make sense to him? Do you tell him to believe first before it will make sense? Do you see how silly your propositions sound?

No, it is not IN space. It is space and I hold that space is eternal. You can't apply time to space for the simple reason that space is infinite. You can't say this is where space starts or ends. You start or end IN space.

I advise you to read that account in the bible again, humbly this time, seeking to have questions answered, not seeking to discredit God. You should also read the account of the prophets and the birth and death and resurrection of Christ. Once you read about Isaiah, joel, jeremiah, and others who kept prophesying and narrating God's great salvation, you'll be inspired to believe God.

You know what? I used to be a pretty good bible student. Many things didn't make sense to me but i kept believing, we were always told that we can't understand everything about god. Mysteriousness!

Let me summarize some things:

God made the tree and its fruit perfect. The bible says God made every fruit good for food.
Genesis 2:9
9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

But God INSTRUCTED them not to eat of the fruit. It's obvious they were not ready for it yet.

The best thing was to obey God, and eat the fruit when he gave them the go. But they didn't. They disobeyed you see. They chose the pleasure of sin.

God created intelligent beings with free will. He IS god. They were supposed to trust his judgement and decision. But they didn't. God would not stop them from being tempted, they were ready for it, and they coulda said no to satan. I know cuz the bible says God doesn't allow us to be tempted above carrying capacity. He always provides a way out. But they chose to rebel.

Infact, humans and even angels have chosen to rebel through the ages. More humans will also rebel against God's rule. In order for God to choose the loyalists, he would allow them to choose him by allowing them to be tempted and tried.

Edit: @OP, I truly do not know. I hope this topic suggests that we have to assume he exists abi? If so, this question seems like a false dilenma to me. Why not say God IS? If i must assume he exists for the purpose of this discussion then i say God IS.
