Focus: Why Should We Number Our Days

"So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom."(Psalm 90:12 NKJV)

We need to number our days for the following reasons:

1) Tomorrow isn’t promised to you (James 4:14): The sudden death of a loved one reminds us of our mortality on this earth. How could it be that someone we saw with life be dead in minutes or days? Yet it happens every day and we are reminded that we must work every day for the Lord as if it is our last.

2) Life on earth could be shorter than you think (Luke 12:20). We are not only aware of our own mortality but of the brevity of life of people younger than us. We cannot breathe one moment longer than God allows.

3) Many missed opportunities can’t be restored (Hebrews 3:15).
The problem with decisions we make in life is that we may not always get a second chance. If we miss opportunities of divine callings, we may never get to redo that moment. While there is hope even after a missed calling, we must make the most of every opportunity.

4) Relationships with family and friends could end without warning (Hebrews 3:13). We can easily take our family and friends for granted—assuming that they will always be around and available. Yet that is not the case, our closest companions could be snatched away at a moment’s notice and we don’t want our last memory to be overwhelmed with regret.

Coaching

As a leader, you should be able to teach your team a new set of skills. Instead of constantly scolding your subordinate, learn to advise them and guide them properly.

Identify the team members that are performing poorly and put them on the right path. With this, you will be creating a great impact while earning their respect. Successful leaders are great coaches that are passionate about guiding others to achieve their goals.

Teaching

Every leader must learn to be in an advisory mode. In other words, you should be able to advise your team of different situations. When issues are complicated, clarify them, provide solutions to their problem and more importantly, help them clear misconception.

Your advice should always help your team to overcome difficulties when the going gets tough.

Motivating

Motivation is among the most important communication styles that should be in every leaders’ toolbox. There are instances when the going gets tough, this is when you need to motivate them.

You should be able to encourage your team and make them put in their best. According to experts, the best way a leader can motivate his team is to work alongside with them to overcome challenging tasks.

Furthermore, try to know the motivation style that works best for your team and apply accordingly.

In trying times, teaching, directing and motivating are the best communication style to apply.

My uncle had this gf. Very nice , loving,
caring, beautiful, respectful etc. My entire loved her and damn she was a very good cook too. Guess what my foolish uncle dumped her when the rest of the family didn't approve of their union. Less than 6 months later , she came to our house inviting us for her wedding. She married a nice guy and had lovely kids.

My uncle had a hard time moving on to the point everyone kept disturbing him to settle down. Well he finally settled down several years later in his late forties.

Wow....guess it goes both ways
