@ Willie, the ( B.Juris) is an outdated version of legal qualifications in South Africa, irrespective of what level, Masters or Doctorate you've achieved. With that kind of qualification, you might not be able to practice as a lawyer in South African judicial melieu. That qualification has long been phased out and is no longer offered, unless your are some dinosaur of the past generations. Presently, in SA the minimum requirements to practise as lawyer is to possession of an LLB, where you can chose to be groomed as an advocate or attorney. |
Wallie: I really don't think you understand how Forbes or any other organization estimates people’s wealth! Saying someone is worth $12B does not mean that $12B is all they have nor does it mean that they have $12B in cash.. My |
collinsfbi: North West University is more or less like UNISA, they operate full time and distance learning study mode, if your course can be completed through distance learning mode, i am afraid you may have problem with your study permit and if otherwise then be patient, good luck. You are not to submit the x-ray result but x-ray medical report (The report will be in form of a letter addressed to the embassy from your medical doctor stating the result of the x-ray.). North West University differs considerably from UNISA. The NWU presents majority of their Degree programmes on a full time bases, while UNISA specialises in distance education. It is only short learning courses that are offered on part-time in NWU and has three campuses, namely, Mafikeng, Vanderbylpark and Potchefstroom campus. Unfortunately, you did not give much finer details as to why would they delay your application, because there is no reason if you presented them with your passport and admission letter from NWU, your Nigerian school results that had been evaluated and converted to SA point/score system by SAQA and your certificate of clean bill of health. |

maclatunji: Aliko Dangote. This is a scam by the west. I still do not believe that Aliko Dangote tops the list of africa's richest men. In the past a lot has been said about africa agenda of promoting the interests of white people, especially those based in south africa. Not long ago Nicky Oppenheimer was the richest and even doubled Aliko Dangote's wealth. Nicky is the chair and owner of DE BEERS (Diamonds Mining Company) estimated @ the net worth over $38 Billion and ever since Forbes was influenced by African politics they offloaded the inclusion of DE BEERS properties in Nicky's assets. In media Dangote is put on the map and in reality it tells the different story. Do not be fooled by anything that has been written on Forbes magazine, well, it gives light in some way, but is not reliable. The stats on this magazine can be hugely distorted and interfered with by politics, especially of the western to fool a black people that africa's economy is in their hands and not that of the western who are based in africa, looting our natural resources. Forbes is in the mission of diverting our focus away from reality by means of propaganda. Dangote's face is being used as a front by the Forbes, tell me how will it ever happen on earth that this noble man, whose profit is mainly generated from cement and flour (which is now sold to SA white owned food company TIGER BRANDS) overtake Nicky in just a year and half and even went on further to double his wealth in just two years. Something does not add up, in fact, something is fishy here. All this happened after the former ANCYL president Julius Malema started pushing for NATIONALISATION OF MINES in south africa and AFRICAN AGENDA that the following year statistics of Forbes changed dramatically. Is this a move by Forbes to shut us up and stop us from asking rhetorical questions about the wealth of white people in africa, particularly SA, who are making fortune in mining Gold, Diamonds and Platinum. |

Harjibode: Here is some valid information due to. South Africa never tried to create nuclear weapons, it successfully developed the most poweful atomic and nuclear weapons during apartheid era and all that was dismantled and destroyed after ANC came into power in 1994. All nuclear made weapons and explosive ammunition were destroyed in JANKEMPDORP near KIMBERLEY in the Northern Cape after SA was readmitted in the UN and agreed to sign a Geneva Convention not to develop weapons of mass destruction again. Apartheid SA had among the best chemical and nuclear scientists who were specialised in chemical and biological warfare and the most feared in the whole world. Among them was the most feared Wouter Basson aka " Dr Death" SA cardiologist and former head of secret chemical and biological warfare project. The project that developed dangerous biological weapons, that forced the whole world to obey, including America. Those scientists had the potential of destroying the land mass as big as former USSR by simply catapulting nuclear loaded missiles frm SA to its intended destination, which will then be guided on its flight by use of computer network; polluting the air that would eventually kill multitudes; contaminating water sources of the world at large; and even poisoning the fabrics and vegetation. |
Sammiejo: Pay as you go TV has been working in South Africa for over 5 years.. My friend, am based in SA. Let me tell you the truth, there is no such thing as PAY-AS-YOU-GO TV in SA, in fact, I have never heard about its existence anywhere in the world. Does it really exist? I just wonder what country has such thing as PAYG-TV and how does it operate? In SA, there are currently two PAY-TV satellite companies, ie, DSTv (Multichoice) and TOP-TV. The TOP-TV has recently introduced a new innovation, where you do not necessarily have to pay your premiums every month. You can simply buy prepaid airtime to watch your TV for a month or two, depending on how long you want after which your prepaid will expire at its due date. It doesn't matter how much you watch your TV, what matters is the duration, let's say from 15th November-15th December. |
soledayo: U are the shiit here on nairaland. They do it south africa, so why not nigeria? may be u are one of their staff or contractor. U are both thieves.SA currently has two satellite TV, ie, DSTV and TOP TV. The TOP TV, rival to the DSTV and not yet introduced in Nigeria has brought about a new innovation of a prepaid system where you can even buy prepaid airtime from your cellphones. There is a third and the forth pay TV which will be soon introduced in SA. |
Clemzy16: I'm not suprised. Despite the challenges we have in our educational sector Nigerian students are still the most intelligent in africa. Followed by south africans. So NEXT!!. This is just a nonsense, in actual facts an utter fallacy. What makes you think that Nigerians are more clever and intelligent than South Africans? If that was the case, then why Nigerians are running all over the globe like headless chicken looking for opportunities to study in SA? For your info, SA universities are currently the best tertiary institutions in Africa. In general South Africans are better doctors, engineers, accountants, etc than Nigerians. DON'T LIE, aint you ashamed of yourself? |
solbil: msauza knows nothing about our support for the ANCs and black people in SA. He doest know we gave scholarship to black SAs to study in our federal govt colleges and unis. He deosnt know that we employed your professors in our unis. He doesnt know that civil servants salaries were cut so that money could be donated into your strugles. We did all these yet he calls our support "partisan". Msauza, what you have done is unaceptable level of ungreatfulness.. One question though, what if the Democratic Alliance (DA) wins majority polls in the general elections of SA? Do you know that the DA poses a big threat to the ANC? I wonder after the DA rule SA, will the likes of Nigeria ever sing the song "We did this and that" to SA. |

We did all these yet he calls our support "partisan". Msauza, what you have done is unaceptable level of ungreatfulness.. Let me first start to tell you that my dad is a prof in one of the biggest and reputable universities in SA. He specialises in Economics and Public Administration, and he holds MBA as well. As for me, am a candidate attorney practising under an experienced group of white SA attorneys. One of the disciplines that I would like to study further after my admission in the High court as an attorney is Military law. I love Nigeria a lot, but have one problem though that even my father admit that when Nigeria is facing challenges, unlike South Africans ordinary citizens of Nigeria fail to admit that they are in crisis. Instead of debating constructively with facts, they turn to play so defensive by telling the world that they are the giants of Afica and are immune to social problems. That time of playing big is over, many countries in Africa are making a big progress and by the time you smell the coffee it would have already been over. Many countries are refurbishing their Armies with new technology and since when was the last time did Nigeria enter into an Arms Deal to replenish their dinosaurs kind of weapons in the Army. The weapons that they are using are old fashioned and remember that a war cannot be won by just a mere numbers, but the kind of technology you are using. We have to admit the NAF as well is in crisis as compared to other Air Force of other countries, let alone the fact that it is not even recognised around the world. Nigeria needs a change, we need to call for a revolution, but the problem is many of them lack political education. |
ocelot2006: ^^Lord! You black South Africans are nothing but ingrates!! Apart from the ANC,which other party played a major role in the struggle? With respect to the killings of blacks, what did you expect Nigeria to do? Invade South-Africa? But even the little, we did our very best. Throughout 70s and 80s, YOUR COUNTRY was one of the major focus of our foreign policy. Yet not even a damn thank you. 'guess now that everything's all well and good, you've developed some form of amnesia. Seriously, it's time Nigeria focuses of foreign policies that places sole priority on our own interest. The years of playing good samaritan and brother's-keeper are over.. There were many parties, majority of which were banished and that include PAC, AZAPO, SACP(formerly a whites party which merged with the ANC in exile), BCM and many others which dissolved before 1994. As for the good job that Nigeria does must continue to do it. My point is that there is no single country that can ever claim to have single handedly helped the ANC to topple the apartheid. The world helped ANC, from S. American countries, Europe, Africa and Asia even though at other times USA was a supporter of Apartheid SA. |
ocelot2006: Then why say that "Nigeria never helped South Africa by any means"? After all this nation had sacrificed for your own nation? As much as I don't want to belittle the struggle of your youth, do you really think you did all hard work? So who piled on the pressure on the foreign powers then? Who aided your ANC exiles in Zimbabwe while the South African govt hunted them down. We're not saying you should know-tow to us, but show a little gratitude.. My dear friend, ANC is not South Africa and not everyone in SA support the ANC. The ANC is a political party and not a country. SA is a multi-party democracy and so you should understand that whoever wins the general elections rules the country. There is a difference between ANC and SA as a country. When days were dark for citizens of SA and when majority of youth were killed like cockroaches in a bloody 1976 Soweto massacre, nobody intervened not even the United Nations. They just never had as if they feared apartheid government as it was rumoured to be storing a lot of nuclear weapons that had the potential of destroying the planet. |
ocelot2006: Sooo...you're saying we never gave any support to the ANC during your struggle against the then Racist govt of South Africa? That Nigeria was not your MOST VOCAL supporter and staunch opponent of the Apertheid govt. of SA? Huh...then I guess Nelson Mandela's visit to Nigeria in the late 80s just after his release was just for show.. You must take note that the whole world was against Apartheid SA, and not specifically Nigeria. Nelson Mandela immediately after his release visited many countries, majority of whom have supported ANC in exile. He visited among others Zambia in Lusaka, where the headquarters of ANC were situated, Tanzania, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, etc , to give them words of thanks for their contribution in the struggle and for not shutting down their doors on giving their fellow brothers a refuge to stay. Had it not been for the black citizens of SA, particularly the youth, the struggle would have not been achieved. ANC in exile was almost inactive since it was very difficult to cross the security-tight borders into SA territory. |
solbil: i have never been to SA before and i wouldnt mind to go there. But nigeria is one country you can be soo proud of. As for infrastructures, i dont know if you have been to nigeria before. But you can see "lagos ,nigeria. Africa you dont see on tv" on youtube.. Solbil, we used to visit my granny in Enugu a lot. I have been in Lagos, Onitsha , Abuja , and other small towns but none of those cities matched SA standard. I want to see Nigeria looking like SA, but in that case only time will tell. |
solbil: @msauza, this thread isnt about naija/SA. Its about a report we are not suppose to take without careful analysis of facts. I first saw this report sometime ago and i cared less who wrote it. But i wast surprised when i learnt it was written by a ghanaian. These people actually wished they were in our shoes.. Point of correction, Nigeria never helped South Africa by any means. This is just misconception that had been spinning around the heads of Nigerians for many years and this fallacy needs to be corrected. Remember that South Africa under apartheid was a wealthy nation that needed no any financial support from any country. Despite being sanctioned for many years, it continued to sustain itself by developing its own military weapons without importing any from other countries. In fact, SA under a white rule was more wealthier than it is today and was a dream land for every white people in the world. That's why many Jews, Greeks, English and Portuguese relocated to SA during this era as it was a land of milk and honey for white people. To be more exact, Nigeria financially helped the ANC(SA political party) across the borders, after it was banned by the SA apartheid government and having many of its members arrested for treason. ANC members outside the borders of SA needed financial support to cater for their day to day needs in order to keep the struggle going. They requested financial support from many countries including Nigeria and their main financial providers being Britain and Russian. Russia provided them military training while Britain educated many of them including Mbeki( the former SA president) and now AU chairlady Nkosazana Zuma. Just check the profiles of many SA ministers, majority of them are foreign educated while they were in exile. |
solbil: @mzauza, BTW how did you get to know this website and this topic? Did you just stumble across it? Just curious.. @Solbil. I was born of a SA mother and Nigerian father. I have both or dual citizenship of SA and Nigeria, so I did not come to stumble to this forum by accident. It was suggested to me by my Nigerian friend, as I was always complaining about slow service delivery and infrastructural development in Nigeria as compared to South Africa. |
The Global Fire Power will be our only solution at this instance. It rates countries' firepower by its standing and ranking in the world and can be accessed at www.globalfirepower.com. Visit this website and surely will give you some light. |
ocelot2006: this story is nothing but total hogwash. Then again, the journalist is Afau Hirsch, a Ghanian who obviously has a grudge with Nigeria and a source from the Malian military, a military known for cowardice and total lack of professionalism.. Stop playing all these blame games and jealousy theories. Perhaps, this is a warning that you must wake up and smell the coffee. I remember when such international reports first hit the shelves about SA being the newly discovered country with the highest HIV/AIDS infections in the world, ordinary South Africans including authorities could not believe it and dismissed such reports as an agenda by imperial media to discredit South Africa. Many of them started pointing their fingers on Uganda, Botswana, blah blah, suggesting that such reports should have focused on such under developed countries instead. They remained obstinate, until soon HIV started visiting their homes, leaving many orphans and widows. That was when they started to smell the coffee and begin to take precautionary measures by protecting themselves from this vicious virus. So, please do not take these reports lightly and let me remind you that preparations are made well in advance, while there is still a plenty of time left. Beware of elements of surprise. |
bravehost4u: They is no justification to send our brothers and sisters to die in Mali. What about countries like S/A?. Go and make a bit of research and you will understand that SA also contributes immensely in peace keeping missions in African countries excluding ECOWAS countries, where Nigerian military would play a primary role in stabilising peace in that region. Currently SA has been tasked and mandated to stabilise peace in East African countries. Ask your fellow Nigerian soldiers about who is currently keeping peace in the DRC, Burundi and Sudan. |
ROSSIKE: Do you have a military background? On what basis are you making these claims? Why should we accept what you're saying? Who are you? If Nigerian troops are as bad as you say why is it Nigerian troops that everyone calls for when there is crisis in Africa? Why not South Africa? Egypt? Morocco? These are armies that are all said to be ''better than Nigeria'', yet everyone in military circles knows the combat readiness of the troops of those nations is highly suspect, hence the reticence to call on them in times of crisis. Again, it is Nigerian troops that are called upon to save the day. How do you explain that?. @ Rossike. Go and make a little research before you comment about anything that involves Military. Nigerian Army is not the only military contingent that is involved in peace keeping missions. South African troops as well as Egyptian military are also largely involved in both AU and UN peace keeping mission in Burundi, DRC and Sudan. I have a friend who is a Lieutenant in SA Army (Engineer formation) and has just arrived from MONUC which is a french abbreviation for UN mission in the DRC. In fact, ever since a new democratic dispensation in 1994, South Africa had been playing an increasingly leading role in peace keeping missions in Africa. Every year young SA soldiers line up for deployment to various parts of Africa, where they normally spend six months, paid in US dollars, before they can be properly relieved by another SA contingent. So, my uninformed dear friend, go to google and ask it if SA military is as well involved in peace keeping missions. Please do not feel any ashamed afterwards to come back and thank me properly for that little information. |
[quote author=playmode]First off i live in South Africa and i tell you that in 2012 this result is BS! The average South African both white and black are as d.u.m.b as door knubs. There are a lot of issues that makes South Africans the d.u.m.best people on the continent just to name a few ,Racism and xenophobia. The black South Africans voted for a rapist and suspected fraudster to become their president. The Average black south African does not want to work for anything ,they want the Government to give them everything for free. The average black South African thinks he is superior to other Foreign Africans and does not want to associate or welcome them to South Africa. The Average black south African is so d.u.m.b that the Government had to reduce exams cut off marks to 30% to get them promoted in class. The Average black South African can hardly pass any international exam outside south Africa because of their extremely low education standards. White South Africans think they know it all because of their skin color but from my own experience many of them know very little. The Average white South African think that Apartheid was justified and that Affirmative action is reverse Apartheid in the new South Africa. The white South Africans are so racist and d.u.m.b that they believe that blacks can not be good doctors, lawyers,IT specialist,Farmers,Teachers e.t.c The white South Africans also believe that Africa had never produced any notable intellectuals because because they live in their little racist cocoon. In my opinion White South Africans have an average IQ of 45 due mainly to their racist beliefs and aggressive nature. Black South Africans on the hand have an average IQ of 25 due to their racist beliefs ,xenophobic beliefs, laziness and violent nature In my Travels around the African continent i can easily affirm that Kenyans(97) have the highest average IQ followed by Ghana (95) and then Zimbabweans (90).Nigeria comes in forth mainly because of our business "hustle" acumen and nothing more.In terms of general intelligence Nigerians are not intelligent ,they just think they are. This is evident when you look at how the average Nigerian reasons and votes.Instead of voting for true economic progress we vote along tribal lines and for known crooks.Intelligent people don't do that. Playmode, why do you have to bring the name of South Africa in? What is wrong with you Nigerians of always wanting to compare yourselves with SA? For your info you compare yourselves with people who are not even aware of your intention. Even though S.Africans are claimed to be Xenophobic, stupid, low IQ, violent and all, but why did they manage to build that country into an almost the only developed country in Africa? Your assertion is very desperate and seeks to undermine the likes of Nelson Mandela, Oliver Tambo, Walter Sisulu, Albert Lithuli, Bishop Tutu etc. |
andrewza: This coming from some one who is not even in south africa. I don't need the approval of you. And there is no such thing has african American, They black American. Has for jully boy he has only limited support so I don't fear him. And we are african whether you like it or not we are here and will be in africa has long has there is a africa. So do screw your self.My fellow countryman, the use of the word "Black" is no longer acceptable. I repeatedly have used this terminology before in my previous comments, knowing well that the word was politically incorrect. In fact, Americans of the African origin are more friendlier to be addressed as Africans than Americans in spite of their geographic location. There is this expression that they love the most, which says " Africans are Africans no matter where they were born or come from". This was later emphasised by a reggae singer Peter Tosh who hails from the Caribbean isles, those islands whose citizens as well prefer to be called Africans than Jamaicans or Haitians. However, in the case of *White SA* they are still perceived as Europeans, since they carry all genetic features of the westerners, but that does not bear any grounds to be excluded as citizens of SA and does not grant the ANC government any right, whatsoever to send them packing to Europe. They are referred as South Africans of the European origin, and even during apartheid they preferred to separate amenities with signs that read " Europeans only" showing their love of being called Europeans. Remember, in most countries citizenship is acquired through birth or registration. A Chinese born in Africa is not necessarily an African, but that status can help him acquire citizenship and even his many generations to follow will never come to be known as Africans. This as well applies to modern Australians whom today are still arguably accepted as aborigines of that land. This is all in the name of colonialism and international politics which changed virtually everything. People forcefully found themselves in foreign lands other than those of their forebears; slavery was rife and savagery was the order of the day; new races were produced as a result of interracial sexual molestation; and even new worlds were discovered in the form of foreign invasion and territorial robberies. Unfortunately we are forced to live with it and have nothing to undo the effects of the past generations. |
deols: I was expecting many ignorant comments. I found enough on the first page. Didnt bother reading the next pages. So, I may be saying something already said by somene else. This is a complete madness. Statistically speaking, females across the globe outnumber the figure of males. This means Islam is more fortunate to have equal number of males and females, impossible. |
abbeycial: in ur dreams dude...ISLAM is a religion of truth dat would prevail over all other religion.all d happening are just a test of faith.Islam my foot, so is that's why you are killing and bombing people just to fulfil the scripture that your religion will emerge victorious over other religions? Listen, I'm a Christian and will die a happy Christian and my religion does not prove itself to be superior than other religion, even though majority of the inhabitants of the planet earth are Christians. My religion does not force anyone to join it out of their own will. It is time that you must come to your senses and realise that life is much more precious than any religion. There has never been anyone in our life time who has died and came back to life and declare to us which religion is truthful. Since there had never been any of that incident, all of us will remain in the cloud of uncertainty. There is nobody who can ever claim that is going to heaven after his death or that his religion will prevail over other religions for that matter. |
FlexTrex: Nigeria should know when and when not to issue ultimatums. There are very few Saudi's in Nigeria in comparison to the Nigerians there. In other words, we need them more than they need us. So we are in no position to threaten them like we did South Africa and other countries.I cannot understand your argument chief. The same happens with South Africa, there are many Nigerians in SA as compared to South Africans in Nigeria. SA is playing a huge role in building the economy of Nigeria, they have build shopping malls and have imported their companies in Nigeria. Why should Nigeria beg Saudi Arabia which does nothing for it other than providing pilgrimage for Muslim based in Nigeria. The pres knows that he should never offend them because might not have Mecca to visit anymore and so South Africa was just his play ground because it has nothing to offer for his religion. |
logica: So as a South African, you couldn't even get the day you claim to be your independence day right? The day and the month was correct, I've only made a mistake with the year. |
Chanchit: Lol, you can only get crazy people here.D |
justwise: Being a South African does not mean that you know a lot about your country....I might be wrong about the dates but what does it tell you about independence of SA. I repeat myself again 1994 marks the freedom day and not the independence day. South Africa had always been independent from colonial rule even during apartheid era. We as blacks we were fighting for our freedom and not independence. Independence from who because SA was not under Britain by then? We fought for FREEDOM. AMANDLA, VIVA ANC VIVA!!! VIVA communists VIVA, Ekhongolose |
Msauza: U know nothing about South Africa. You are the one who is embarrassing himself. I'm a South African and you don't tell me about my history. 27th April 1994 is a freedom day not an independence day. 31st May 1960 is the day of independence of South Africa when it officially became a Republic. You slowpoke just google it and don't just chase after shadows. Under colonial rule SA was a union after the british won the Boers (Afrikaners) in an Anglo-Boer2 in 1899-1901, where in the British won after having lost the first Anglo-Boer war which was around 1850's.Justwise let me teach u politics- any country can still be independent from colonial rule, but still a number of people from that country continue to be oppressed by another, either on the basis of culture, sex, religion, tribe or colour. This is evident of Sudan which became independent many years ago, where the South(black) was oppressed by the North( Arabic origin). Same as in Rwanda where the tutsis oppressed the hutus. Same as South Africa which became independent many years ago, but still whites which were in power oppressed blacks. Another one to follow is Nigeria, where the North always appears to overpower the South during presidential elections. |
justwise: Stop embarrassing yourself, officially apartheid era ended April 1994 and that is the day South African recognized as independent day, that is the year they were completely free from white minority rule.U know nothing about South Africa. Under colonial rule SA was a union after the british won the Boers (Afrikaners) in an Anglo-Boer2 in 1899-1901, where in the British won after having lost the first Anglo-Boer war which was around 1850's. After the English won the war that's when they started to colonise SA after hijacking it from the Boers (White SAfricans). Remember the Boers consider themselves as citizens of SA (Settlers), that's why they have been ther before the invasion of the British in SA. The Boers fought the British to defend SA from being colonised and they won the first war. From today u must know that 1994 marks freedom day of SA and not independence day. Stop telling people lies. Even under apartheid SA was independent, it was called Republic of SA, understood? The Boers are as well citizens of SA, they were as well colonised from 1901-1960. I hate people who distort history of other countries, if you want to know history of RSA just google it or go to library, that is if they are available where you live. Gudbye!!! |
