PoliticsThe President Must Hear This - By Utum Eteng In Calabar by msmon(op): 6:55am On Nov 04, 2014
For as long as it is necessary, President
Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP must hear this, as
our elders say “it is only a blind man who falls
into a pit twice” and put the other way, “once
bitten, twice shy”. As the President is getting set
to publicly launch out his 2ND term ambition for
2015, it is expected that, he and the PDP
leadership have done an examination of the past
challenges which were aimed at detracting him
by some governors from the PDP umbrella family.

The President has a solemn duty to squarely
project into the future, navigating his projections
from the unwholesome sabotage suffered in the
hands of those governors, who later defected to
the APC. Politics, is a concentric layers of
conspiracies laced in daylight smiles covered with
midnight sabotage. Today, in the Senate, House
of Representatives, State Houses of Assemblies,
APC numbers increased significantly following the
said defection of those governors with the
legislators they influenced to be elected in their
states. Political analysts argue that this strategy
by the governors, to move to the APC with their
legislators, was to stabilize them as observed in
the case of Rivers, Kano and Sokoto states where
majority PDP members are APC members now.

For now, the president should not sleep with his
two eyes closed. The virus to decamp to the APC
is still hovering in the air and may soon manifest
after the PDP presidential primaries. This may
appear unbelievable to Mr. President to hear, but
this is the plan of some PDP governors who are in
search of a soft landing from prosecution. They
are secretly hobnobbing with the opposition. Part
of the bargain and strategy is to ensure that the
stooges and cronies they sponsor as governors,
legislators at all levels decamp to the APC with
them after 2015. Today, the Tambuwal the
governors foisted on PDP has moved, the game
plan is for those who influenced his election to
subsequently move to join him.

The great Ijaw leader, Chief E. K. Clark once
argued that part of the crisis in the polity was
caused by some of our governors. This indeed is
an objective statement of truth and to be
forewarned is to be forearmed. Some of the out
going PDP governors are merely wearing PDP coat
inside an APC body.

It should be noted that they were part of the
game in 2011 using some of their House of
Representative members, to foist Hon. Tambuwal
as speaker against PDP majority. This betrayal
should not be forgotten in a hurry.

For emphasis, the president and the PDP must be
sufficiently interested in who become state
governorship aspirants and National legislators
for 2015. It must not be business as usual where
everything was left in the hands of the state
governors. It’s no longer funny. It may not be out
of place to remark that some of these PDP
governors have entered into a secret pact with
the opposition to do otherwise after 2015.

Outside the sponsored insurgency and sabotage,
President Jonathan still remains the man to beat
in 2015. Nigerians are aware however what steps
he takes to protect his second term administration and to prevent a repeat of the attendant bitter experience is now. It entirely rest on him and the PDP leadership. The governors cannot produce their successors as state governors and legislators and go ahead to foist national legislators on the president. This again is dangerous. Their aim is to influence or control the centre from outside.

Political analysts have continued to argue that
the matured handling of the affairs by Dr. David
Mark and his principal officers gave stability to
the Jonathan administration. The President and
the PDP national chairman, as tacticians should
rise up to the challenge now to identify and
constitute a future loyal and dependable team of
national legislators for 2015. This may not be an
easy assignment. They have to contend with the
selfish organized resistance of some of the state
governors to impose their stooges in keeping with
their secret bargain with the opposition. Surely, it
may amount to gross political miscalculation,
misadventure and or self inflicted injury should
the president again fold his hands and watch the
governors now pretending to love him more than
they love their wives have 100% of the National
legislators who will work with him. It has been
observed that in some states, the governors to
pre-empt the party have suddenly introduced the
abstract popularity test and or zoning to areas of
their surrogates to beat the interest of the party.

If anybody is to be watched, therefore, it is the
state governors now creating fear and the false
impression that without them the president will
not win in 2015. It is common facts that PDP
wants Jonathan, Nigerians also want Jonathan to
consolidate on the achieved gains.

I repeat, the outgoing governors must be watched
because they may have a secret agenda to help
consolidate the opposition. One is not here saying
that, the president, the PDP must believe this but
that this must be heard, for if Julius Caesar heard
or believed the soothsayer, he would have saved
Mark Anthony from his epoch funeral speech.

NYSCCourt Jails Youth Corps Member, 2 Others Over Visa Scam by msmon(op): 9:16pm On Nov 03, 2014
Ikeja – An Ikeja High Court on Monday sentenced a
National Youth Service Corps member, Helen Bando,
to one year imprisonment for using forged
documents to process an Indian visa.

The judge, Justice Olutoyin Ipaye, also jailed her
accomplices — Samuel Obiakor and Segun Alimi —
one year each.

She sentenced the trio after they pleaded guilty to
the charge during their re-arraignment by the
Independent Corrupt Practices and other related
offences Commission (ICPC).
The defendants had entered a plea bargain with
the ICPC.

According to the deal, each of the defendants will pay a N50, 000 fine and will be sentenced to a maximum of six months imprisonment.
Delivering her judgment, Ipaye noted that Section 75 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State was only to guide the court.

She said the court was not bound by the plea bargain between the defendants and the ICPC.
The judge said the desperation of the first defendant (Bando) to travel outside Nigeria made her to conspire with the others to submit forged documents to the Indian High Commission.

Ipaye said the action of the defendants had brought
the country into disrepute and could lead to the
denial of visas to other Nigerians with genuine
intentions of travelling.

She, therefore, sentenced them to one year
imprisonment each without an option of fine on the
one count amended charge.
The judge held that Bando’s sentence would begin
from the day of the judgment, while those of the
other convicts would commence in June 2014 when
they were first remanded in prison.
ICPC had filed the charge on Nov.15, 2013.
The ICPC counsel, Mr Paul Bassey, said the
defendants conspired to submit forged documents to the Indian High Commission sometime in 2013 to enable Bando obtain the country’s visa.

He said the offences contravened Sections 25(1) and (a), 26 (1), (a) and (c) and Section 96 (1), (a) of the ICPC Act.

It's not a gain saying that guys can be very funny when a lady they love keep saying 'NO'.

I have a lady friend(just friend) whom a guy was really in love with but she keep turning the guy down. The guy try so hard and did everything to impress my friend but she keep turning him down, so I decide to talk to her 3 days ago that I hope she won't lose the guy who truly love her because that's what I noticed from the guy.

In her response, she told me she's trying to find a place in her heart for him but it's just impossible, she explained that she detest him because he's trying to hard and even go to the extent of crying in a public place.

On a personal note, I have cried as well because 'she' said NO to me but not in a public place (never will that happen).

Here are some of the funny things I see guys do if a lady they truly love keeps saying 'NO'.

CRY: Either privately or in public.
REPORT TO HER FRIEND: a guy will talk to her friend to assist in wooing her.
FEAR HER: Because he doesn't what to do anything that will further create hatred

So guys, what is that funny thing you did because she keeps saying NO?

Ladies on the tried should share with us what funny thing they notice guys do when they keep saying NO.

Let's go there!

PoliticsShias In Potiskum Yobe State Hit By 'Suicide Attack', Almost 20 Dead by msmon(op):
A suicide bomber has blown himself up at a
Shia religious ceremony in north-east Nigeria,
killing about 20 people, eyewitnesses have
told the BBC.

The bomber joined the ceremony in Potiskum town
and blew himself up, the witnesses said.
No group has said it carried out the attack, but
suspicion is bound to fall on militant Sunni Islamist
group Boko Haram.
It denounces Shias, a small minority in Nigeria, as
non-Muslims.
Witnesses said the bomb exploded as the crowd was
marking Ashura, a solemn day when Shias mourn the
martyrdom of Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet
Muhammad, in 680 AD at Karbala in modern-day
Iraq.

Boko Haram has waged an insurgency in Nigeria
since 2009.

It has repeatedly targeted Christians and rival
Muslim groups.

In July, it was blamed for bombing an open-air
mosque in Potiskum, killing four people.

PoliticsJonathan Warns Against Do-or-Die Politics by msmon(op):
NOVEMBER 1, 2014 BY NAN

President Goodluck Jonathan on
Saturday urged political office seekers
to shun desperation, saying their
ambitions should never be a do or die in
the interest of the nation.

The President made the appeal at
Otuabula 2, the headquarters of Ward
13 in Ogbia Local Government Area,
while monitoring the conduct of the
Peoples Democratic Party congress in
Bayelsa State.
Jonathan also warned the leadership of
the party at all levels against the
imposition of candidates for various
offices.

The president said such a stance could
adversely affect the fortunes of the party
in the forthcoming general elections in
the country.

He, however, urged all the candidates to
be loyal to their party leadership.
He commended the peaceful conduct of
the Ward Congress of the PDP in the
state.

Mr Blessing Odeh, the Ward Chairman,
later presented Jonathan with
membership card number 2851001.
The President’s wife, Dame Patience
Jonathan, was also presented with
membership card number 2851002.

Speaking in a similar vein, Governor
Seriake Dickson lauded the leadership
and members of PDP for their peaceful
conduct during the ward congress of the
party in the state.

Dickson, who participated in Tarakiri
Ward 2 at Angalabiri in Sagbama Local
Government area of the state, said the
members’ conduct was a further
confirmation of the unity and stability in
the party in the state.

I'm surprise I'm the first to like your comment, very informative. My choice isn't included on the list though, don't be surprise he is Austin Jay Jay Okocha. Its my opinion

TDonald:
These 3 are it for me

KANU ‘PAPILLO’ NWANKWO

Although Kanu made most of his EPL appearances as a substitute,
he is the reason the league became a popular one here in Nigeria.
He moved to Arsenal from FC Internazionale of Italy for 4.1 million
pounds after a scare about his heart. He went on to play for West
Bromwich Albion and Portsmouth. He made a total of 315
appearances (118 as a substitute, an EPL record) scoring 57 goals.
He won 2 Premier League titles, 3 FA Cup trophies, and 1
Community Shield, African and BBC Footballer of the year during his
stint in England.

JOHN MIKEL OBI

John Michael Nchekwube Obinna popularly known as Mikel Obi
joined London giants Chelsea after a tug of war with Manchester
United that saw FIFA intervene and act as a pacifier between the
two rivals. The matter was resolved and Chelsea were asked to pay
12million pounds in compensation to Manchester United and
4million pounds to his parent club, FC Lyn Oslo of Norway.
He made his EPL debut as a substitute and scored his first goal in
English football in 6-1 thumping of Macclesfield Town in January
2007 (FA Cup). He’s gone on to play in the League Cup, FA Cup,
and Champions League finals for the club. He’s the most decorated
Nigerian to play in the EPL; he has won a Premier league title, 4 FA
Cups, 1 League Cup and 1 Champions League medal during his 5
years at Chelsea. He’s also made 160 appearances for the club
scoring 2goals.

YAKUBU ‘YAK’ AIYEGBENI

After a tremendous display in the 2002/2003 Champions League
campaign in which he scored 7 goals in 8 matches, he earned a
loan deal to Portsmouth FC, who were fighting for promotion in the
Championship. He helped them to the EPL before signing
permanently.
He is the third highest goal scorer in the history of the Nigerian
national team. He made his debut in English football as a 57
minute substitute for Vincent Pericard in 1-all draw against Brighton
& Hove Albion on 18 June 2004 and scored his first goal against
Grimsby in his first start.
He played 37 times in Portsmouth’s debut season in the EPL
scoring 16 times; he scored his debut EPL goal in the 1-1 draw
against Manchester City (his second match).
He went on to represent Middlesborough, Everton, Leicester City
and Blackburn Rovers. He scored 29, 26, 25, 17 EPL goals for
Pompey, Middlesborough, Everton and Blackburn Rovers
respectively. He has a total of 97goals in 213 appearances;
averaging 0.45goal per game.

PoliticsAgents Of Corruption Are Against Buhari's Presidential Ambition - Tsav by msmon(op):
A former Lagos State Commissioner of
Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has said
those against the presidential bid of the
former Head of State, Maj.-General
Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), are agents
of corruption who do not mean well for
the country.

Tsav in an interview with The PUNCH
on Friday in Makurdi, noted that such
people were either agents of corruption
or were themselves corrupt and
dishonest.

According to him, Buhari has been
tested four times and at each of the
times, he proved to be honest and
incorruptible.

He said, “He was military governor but
never stole. He was minister of
petroleum and never stole. He was Head
of State and never stole, rather he
introduced discipline and orderly
behavior in the society. He was head of
Petroleum Trust Fund and he never
stole money in the state treasury.”
The retired police boss maintained that
people accused Buhari of being a
religious extremist but forget the fact
that his driver is a Christian.

Tsav noted that Buhari had no landed
property in Abuja and Lagos or
anywhere in the world unlike others
who steal in Nigeria to own houses in
major cities of the world.

The former CP pointed out that Nigeria
was “decaying fast like a basket of
tomatoes kept under the tropical sun”,
arguing that under Buhari there would
be sanity and orderliness in the country.
He said, “No terrorist will operate with
impunity, no pastor or any religious
leader would be involved in any arms
deal. The level of corruption would be
reduced, no person or group would own
private jets to mock the ordinary people
of this country.

“It is no wonder that everyone is afraid
to talk in Nigeria. The love for money
and position has compelled all Nigerians
to remain quiet except general
(Olusegun) Obasanjo and (Imo State
Governor) Owelle Okorocha.”
