Good evening house..please I would like someone to recommend universities in the UK that offers undergraduate scholarships and cheap as well .
Please this will mean so much to me because I want to leave this country by next year ...

I dont think anyone can correctly answer that. The questions you will be asked will depend on your profile which is gotten from the information you gave on your application form.

The questions are geared towards detecting if you lied on your form to the best of the VO's ability. Some questions are generic tho. Go through this thread and you will see those ones.

I thank God i had a wonderful flight with Turkish airlines to the US...My POE experience was easy and not easy ..The officer just wanted to tackle me for no reason but he told me straight that he is the one allowing me in and not the school as we talked ...The guy made me angry but i kept my cool .

ME :Good morning (gave him my passport and I-20)
Officer :so why are you here ?
me :i am here to study
officer :what will you be studying?
ME : Sociology
Officer :have you paid for you studies
Me :Not yet i will do that once i get to the school
Officer :Why haven't you paid ? aren't you suppose to pay before you come
Me :i have spoken to my admission specialist ,I will do that once i get to school sir ,i have enough funds to pay for my tuition that was why the school gave me admission...they already contacted the bank in Nigeria

Me :I have $4000 on me at the moment sir....(baba eyes open )
Officer :started talking in spanish to another lady who is also an officer...then he told her with all the scams that going on ...(i just dey boil for inside ..i change face for ham ) after that he just took finger print and stamped me in ...

NB: Please if you are coming to the USA and you intend to buy a flight ticket to the state you'll be schooling at the airport ,make sure you book the flight from naija ,i suffer tire oo i thought i would get a flight from JFk to Houston not knowing i will enter one chance .All the airlines are fully booked and the rest is history ...Buy your connecting flight ticket before you leave oooo if not you go waka tire ..JFK is so big ooo ...I spent the Night at Laguadia airport which was very cold ...Don't make that mistake ooo

-There's nothing to be scared off ...just tell them why you're here ...Don't carry indomie and declare what ever food stuff you have ,to avoid secondary screening because they know we Nigerians always carry food stuff when you say NO ..automatically you will be placed for secondary screening

Hello e-family I just arrived US couple of hours ago via Qatar airways my journey was smooth and Qatar airways is top notch with their service I got to point of entry which has been my biggest fear while planning my journey and imagine I did not use a min with the cbp office really cool my interview with him goes does:
Me: good morning (and I passed my passport and the form I filled on board)
Cbp: why are you here
Me: i'm here for schooling
Cbp:can I have your i20 and how long will you be staying
Me: (passed my i20) 3years
Cbp: what course will you be doing
Me: associate degree in engineering
And after that I did my bio capture....all this was less than a min tho and I got stamp and off to take my luggage.... I'm currently on a greyhound bus connecting to Maryland....
For people who will be traveling soon have no fear point of entry is not that serious just say what you are here for and you are good and carry plenty 9ja food ooo. I brought a full pack of indomi hungry man noodles and other food items....Good luck to me on my new journey

Before you waste your money, make sure the state you are going to will accept international drivers license. Check with the motor vehicle department of each state you will drive in for its requirements. Not all states accept this. Some states will require that, in addition to a valid license from Nigeria. Additionally states like New york will require your license + a simple exam to get an american license so international license is not that important. In some states like North Carolina If you don't plan to buy a car soon, getting a license shouldn't be important on your financial priority list because you will need to show proof of valid vehicle insurance before you can get a license except you want the restricted license which allows you to drive ONLY rental cars. Just find out details about all this in the state you are going too, each state different rules.

I'm not sure if its better though but my friend who lives in Houston uses an international drivers license ...

Yes it will be better for you to get an international drivers license before traveling to the US ...A friend of mine advised me to get one as well before leaving Nigeria

what airline did you book with from JFK to Des Moines ?

I arrived USA yesterday. POE was New York.
Program start date is 23rd of August and my school is in Iowa, and I didn't even purchase a connecting flight because it was darn expensive from Naija, so I was expecting many questions. But to my surprise, I was only asked two questions:

1) What are you here for?
2) Do you have any drugs with you? I said yes, Anti malaria drugs. He asked to see them and that was it.

The guys at the customs just collected my passport and didn't even check my luggage.

In JFK, if your bags are heavy, you will need a trolley which you have to pay $5 for, I tried to use my card to pay but Couldn't. A bulgarian lady used her card to pay for me.

Then I exited the building and headed to Terminal 2 where I purchased flight ticket to Des Moines, Iowa for $242. I paid $60 for my luggage ($30 apiece)

My flight was delayed 1 hour, so I got to Iowa late around 12am. I had booked a room on Airbnb. The "landlady" was kind enough to come pick me up at the airport.

I only paid $25 for the room, but she is so nice. She even offered me Dinner and a hot Chocolate drink last night.

I will be staying here till School Orientation in August 20th

Go to DHL office here in Nigeria they do international pick up tell the school about your plans, so they will give you the address the pickup man can come get it.... also explain to the dhl you want it in like 3days so that last last in five days it will be available...
2) if you know someone arround the school that can pick it up and send via dhl it will work to..
