Okay, so I took my son out one day, we were in the car and I told him if I could take him to the eatery, he said yes.

Okay so when we got there, he ordered for what he wanted. Just meatpie and a drink. We sat down to eat it.
I asked him what he wanted to be in future, he said he wanted to be an aeronautical engineer and architect.( It was not a surprise because we all knew, I just wanted him to reiterate it).
So I brought out a form I had typed at the business center with their school logo.
I told him that unfortunately he was going to repeat his class, because he wasn't doing well and all his classmates including his best friends were all going to move on to the next class.

I told him, I had already signed for his repeat, and there and then I could see the shock. He burst into tears and begian to cry.
He pushed his snacks away and told me not to accept and sign it.
I pretended to be helpless.

We got into the car and went back home, snacks forgotten
When we got home, I went into my room to pretend to cry while talking to myself that my son is going to repeat a class.

On Monday the following week, I already made his class teacher and proprietress know of my plan, so I went into their offices with him, gave them the fake form and told them I had signed up for him to repeat.
They began to beg me that he should not repeat that I should not allow him to repeat ( it was all drama). They were like how would your son feel when his friends and classmates are promoted?.

Finally I told them to give him a form to sign that if he doesn't improve, he will repeat.
They gave him a form for which I had earlier dropped off with them without him knowing. He agreed and signed it and wrote his name. The class teacher read it to him and he understood it perfectly.

To cut the long story short, he came first and carted away 5 awards in their school prize giving and graduation day.
And since then, he never looked back.
Psychologically he realized that if he could have done so well,to cart away awards and be acknowledged, he can continue like that all his life and be getting accolades while getting his good grades.

I know my children's emotions and I had to think out of the box to get results and I am happy I did.

But one thing you should know is that most little boys usually get playful st that age.
And again if your son is good In music, you can help him use that same music to improve on his grades.

A lot of reasons can be attributed to him not learning on time.
Most children have slow learning pace and later pick up and move very fast.

It could even be as a result of the pressure the aunty is giving him at home.

He may be overwhelmed with house chores and have little or no time to rest so as to assimilate.
Fear too, can make him not to ever assimilate.

Poor nutrition
Constant beating and abuse would make him not concentrate.

Beating a child to learn is all shade of wrong and it usually does more harm than good.

Yes, you can subttly scold a child, but not make it a habit of instilling fear in them as it concerns learning.

A careful parent or guardian would try and find out what the problem is, and not just beating the child like that.

My son was a very fast learner in primary school, later on his grades began to drop. I know what I did, because I had to think out of the box, and he picked up again and began to do much better than before.
I didn't have to beat him.

Once that head or brain locks up, if you like use cutlass and open the head and shove the books inside, the books will still fall off.

Honestly his death shook me
Yes everyone must die some day, but the circumstances surrounding death is what we are usually concerned about.
He was doing very well and well loved by people that knew him even on set and off set.

I know someone that said the guy was like a landlord to him, because he was living in his boys quarters in surulere.
But he being saint obi would give the struggling guy his clothes, cars to use and even take him out to hang out.

He was a good person like I heard.
His marriage was toxic.
I kept following his story of his marriage on the tabloids.
It was meant to be a secret that's why a lot of Nigerians didn't know, but somehow it was leaked out.

I have done so many good that started working for me later on, even when I had forgotten about it. Doing good is not only about financial assistance but a whole lot of other things.
So many times my goodness have frustrated me, as in,the people I did good for will pay me with so much evil that I will cry for Days. But in the midst of that cry, If I get a call or message for assisting someone, I will still do it.
My son reported me to our pastor because he felt I was allowing myself to be taken for granted by people, because he doesn't understand why I will still want to kill myself over people's situation even with what my experiences are.

Some friends and relatives and in laws I could have died for, have dealt with me o, and returned my good with evil, but some how God that fights battles for people like us has always seen to it that He helps me even through unknown people whenever I am in need.
( Not just financial need)

In my despodent times, God used someone here on nairaland to bless me financially. I didn't beg him o. It was just like play, so please forget whoever has wronged you and keep doing good.

Someone insulted the living day light out of me here some time ago, I took note of his moniker and email.
That same person reached out to me to assist him in claiming his father's dividends and I offered him the advice that worked for him.

Meanwhile, some of us knew saint was having terrible issues in his marriage.
His wife and her siblings tormented him. But he tried to play the macho man in reality as he used to do in the movies.
He just fizzled away from Nollywood. Yes he was doing well in his private business that was rumoured to have gotten a massive assistance from his wife due to her financial strength, but the guy was not happy.

Igbos are probably the most hated tribe in Nigeria. In my personal opinion sha.. And it shouldn't be that way... It's really sad.

I visited Osun state few years ago to see an old friend of mine... And also get to know about the place, the people there and their way of life. I was really excited and filled with life to be there...
But while driving somewhere around "ife" i think.. with that my friend showing me around... Something terrible happened. We got into a very serious accident that almost claimed our lives...(But Baba God just no gree)

There was also a tricycle(Keke) involved in the accident... The tricycle driver didn't sustain any serious injury, but his tricycle was seriously damaged as it was knocked over. I was seriously injured, bleeding out about to pass out. My guy was also seriously injured.
Ok the locals quickly rushed to the accident scene and was helping pull us out of the car as the car doors were jammed.

I was glad, Everything was going well until they learned that we were both Igbos and not Yoruba. Viooooola!!! Everything automatically changed! their tone and visual expression reversed! They became aggressive towards us, bro? These people held us hostage there and insisted I must pay for the Keke before going to the hospital... (the Keke driver was yoruba)

They didn't care that I was bleeding out, they didn't care about our lives... Blood almost completely covered my eyes,,, I could barely see anything.. but I struggled and struggled and finally managed to transfer the exact amount of the Keke to the Keke guy Before they could allow us be taken to the hospital.

I have never experienced such hatred in my entire life... Even as a traveler I have never experienced such hatred even from whites or the notoriously racist Asians. But then from my own black brothers? That I share relatively same DNA with? All because we spoke different language? It was really hurtful... Sh!t really broke my heart!

What made the whole incident worse was how almost everyone at the scene were indifferent in their opinion to hold us hostage till the tricycle was payed for... Both the elderly ones there and the younger ones... I could literally feel their hatred for us just by how they were staring at us,,, "omo ibo, omo ibo" na wetin I dey here from everyone at the background. Please why so much hatred for one another? Hausa, yoruba Igbo etc... We are all the same people and not that far away from each other... I believe that If we can go way-way back in history, there must have been a time when we were all the same people and probably spoke the same tongue(it's possible) cos language and culture evolves and changes with time. You only probably know about your grandparents and have only heard stories about your great parents... OK what about your great grandparents?...your great great grand parents? The ones after them? It's a very long line bro... A very long one... But it's probably still the same bloodline.. And somewhere along the long blood line, you probably shared the same lovely ancestral patents with members of the tribe you have grown to hate today... I will give you time to think about it.

We are all just one big giant family! We are all Just brothers and sisters who don't know each other. The difference in culture and language is only a result of long time separation due to migration. Language, culture and tradition evolves with time... And faster than you think.
