Your parents living together till death isn’t a yardstick for good marriage

The reason for divorce and bad marriages of today na material things

You used your C300 Benz of 12million to snatch a hustling guys babe and tomorrow you’ll expect her to be faithful when a man who divers 2022 Lexus LX600 of 80 million

Another reason is too much of sexual expectations in marriages

Man would dump his organic wife at the sight of a big ass BBL lady

Woman will dump her organic man looking for a billionaire with 6 packs that has cucumber penis that can last 80hrs

The other day I overheard a woman defending her promiscuous act shouting on top of her voice that she cheated because her husband doesn’t give her head

I shock. Bcuz since them born me till today I never hear my mom telling my dad to give him head

Who invented this head giving sef

You can’t even use the word head in public again unless you have to be specific like head of charger head of fish head of family
sad on that head own, it is true o. I innocently asked my colleague while pointing at his charger that he should give me the head, because I already had my USB cord.
The spoilt thing just asked me when?.

I didn't understand initially, I kept on saying abeg give me the head, until my other r colleagues present burst out laughing.

I only understood later.
But trust me, I blasted him so bad. I was like why do we sexualise every thing?
He apologized because he knew I don't take nonsense, and really I made him know I was embarrassed.
So since then, even if I want to order for food, I shout give me "fish head" or "goat head" and not "head" grin

So what about the easterners slurring against the yorubas?? He's maæd

And u?? U re equally......
I really pity your situation.
Crucify him and myself all you like, but that small voice inside of you is telling you the truth that you are wrong and we are right to talk against tribalism.
It is not about you being a Yoruba or me being an igala, but it is about tribalism.

Ask your self, what has tribalism or your hatred for another tribe done for you?.
But if it gives you peace and harmony to insult people who are against tribalism, then kudos.
If you read my write up, you will see where I indicated that my friends are 75% Yorubas and we love ourselves and assist ourselves irrespective of tribe or religion. I guess you will call them mad too, because they are not tribalistic.

That said I refrain from mentioning people that don't learn or feel they they know it all

I have taken note if your moniker, I will never ever respond to you, and please do well not to quote or make reference to me.

You call your brother mad because he doesn't want to hate any tribe like you do, and you equally want to call me mad.
You should have concluded it.
It doesn't give me skin pain.
That said enjoy your day.
I wish you well

Chief,
Thank you for your kind words. I've been on this forum for about ten years. I had a former account which I stopped using because of some reasons. I can say that Nairaland has never had tribalism and bigotry this bad. It is really embarassing.

I am a Yoruba man. I have lived and been to many places in Nigeria. Everybody is my brother and sister. Everybody is my friend. I have never seen Seun so uninterested in the hate that is spewed here against the easterners on a daily basis. I made a candid statement condemning tribalism and some of my fellow Yoruba men (cowards) have been calling me a bas.tard. I weep for their future. Nonentities who have benefitted nothing from their tribalism and bigotry.

May God help us. One love, brother.
I am a sister actually grin.
Prosperity will judge you and those of us crying against tribalism well.

Morphinne:
This is the problem with Nigerians Biafrans, instead of treating a disease and preventing its recurrence, you would rather choose to treat just the symptom. Why haven’t you taken your time and ask yourself why the people who had accommodated you for 40 years suddenly become cold overnight? Have you asked yourself what preceded the tribalistic response of the Yorubas towards the ibos during and after the electioneering period?
Who started it and why are the Yorubas who are known for being helplessly nice and accommodating suddenly acting unfriendly? (After 40 years in your own case)
Perhaps, these loving people wouldn’t have turned cold and tribalistic if your people didn’t call their ancestral land a no man’s land. They wouldn’t have gone aggressive if your ppl didn’t plot to overthrow and rubbish their traditional institutions. Would the ibos have remained calm and friendly towards the Yorubas living in Onitsha if the Yorubas were saying that Onitsha had no indigenous identity; that Onitsha belonged to nobody?
Why not talk sense into your people’s empty heads first before blaming the victims (Yorubas) of overreacting ?
Last time I checked, it’s not only ibos that are residing in Lagos and the entire south west but why always them? Na only una waka come? This victim game script is becoming annoying, please come off it my friend.
Please next time if what I commented sounds like a victim card or script to you, waka pass okay.
Just move on....
Don't quote me if it doesn't make sense to you.
I quoted the person I am on the same page with.
I saw your comments but because we are obviously not like minds in any way, I Waka pass your comment.

So please respect my opinion, it's mine.
And let me respect yours.
Stay on your lane and bask in your know it all.
Don't bother to respond to me because this is the first and last time I will ever make a comment towards you.
That said may God bless Nigerians and every tribe in Nigerian Incase you missed that part in my comment

Chief,
I'm sorry to say o, but you are a wicked and dark fellow. Actually, I'm not sorry. It's just the truth. Anybody who reads your constant attack against the easterners will agree.

Your constant tribalism and bigotry on this forum is disgusting. We all saw it during the elections, we are seeing it now. People like you won't hesitate to kill an igbo person if war breaks out.

Before you reply with nonsense, I am a bona-fide yoruba man. So don't even try to spin this off and spark a tribal debate.

Do you look in the mirror and feel pity for yourself? You should. You make it seem like igbos are the only problem of Nigeria. Newsflash - we ALL have a part to play.

See, I've been labeled "omo ale" by many Yorubas because I refuse to be tribalistic. If we are being honest, yorubas aren't perfect either. The Lagos everyone hoists as the home of excellence...that same Lagos is overrun with touts and area boys and omo oniles who won't think twice before stealing from you, defrauding you or even physical assault. That's your fellow Yoruba person o.

There are bad people in every tribe. There are good people too. Judging an entire tribe because of a few bad eggs is a very myopic thing to do.

You need to repent, bro. For posterity's sake.
May God Almighty bless you and your generation yet unborn for this comment. I have been looking for someone like you on nairaland, but I just found you.
1 out of so many "wicked" nairalanders
This has been my plea, this has been my cry.
Tribalism is being propagated by people that should know better, especially that young man you quoted.
I feel so ashamed whenever I read his comment.
I am like "doesn't he look at his mirror", all the bile for how much and for what dirty politician?.
Because that is what they are; dirty, selfish politicians

I feel so hurt because I was born and raised in Lagos. 75% of my friends are Yorubas. We grew up not knowing the difference in our tribes or religion. Our parents became friends because of us.

40 years after, we are still friends.
We support ourselves.
We love ourselves.
We have a strong association.
I love Amala, and other Yoruba meals.
They love Igbo foods, and some of them ask us igbos to teach their Yoruba wives how to prepare our meals.
We travel from afar to attend our occasions.
I am Igbo, but I love my friends and they love me too.
We support each other, even those outside Nigeria do same.

So it was this elections that made some of us realize that we aren't from the same tribes after all.
Some of my Yoruba friends wanted to misbehave, but the love we had for each other brought us back again.

In my school group, every Nigerian tribe is represented and we are moving on and standing on the strength of our diversity.

I have been insulted here and called many names, but I still stand by the fact that I hate tribalism.
In Abujà here where I reside presently, my best friends are from kaduna, Gombe and I have a Fulani woman that I am supporting to pay her daughters school fees, even though say I dey manage o. I no get o, but just because the little girl said she doesn't want to marry, but wants to go to school, I plunged in to assist because they are poor.

The point I am trying to make is that we all are one, irrespective of tribe or religion. I find it easy to relate with everyone. I am not particular about tribe.
Maybe I am different, I don't know.

Because of your comments, you are my brother.
God bless you again, and May God bless EVERY tribe and PEOPLE in Nigeria

I am 35 years old and everybody keeps reminding me that age is no longer on my side.

My fiance and I have been dating for more than one year and we are getting married soon.

My fiance is 40 years old and he has never been married.

The relationship was really good when we started but now that our wedding is in a few weeks time, he has shown how controlling he can be.

From the choice of the wedding dress, to the bridesmaids selection, to the colour of the day, he wants to be in charge.

He also wants his mum to buy the cloth for our engagement as well as buy our wedding ring.

He does whatever his family says without seeking my opinion and it almost seems as if I am not the one getting married.

I told my parents about how this makes me feel and they just asked me to endure because I am getting older but I really fear for what is going to happen after the wedding.

Are these not red flags I should run from?

I am confused, please advise me.

Could you please tell us what you did in this case? I have a son like that that I introduced to music and he's also doing well in music too while his education still didn't pick up again as it was before
Okay, so I took my son out one day, we were in the car and I told him if I could take him to the eatery, he said yes.

Okay so when we got there, he ordered for what he wanted. Just meatpie and a drink. We sat down to eat it.
I asked him what he wanted to be in future, he said he wanted to be an aeronautical engineer and architect.( It was not a surprise because we all knew, I just wanted him to reiterate it).
So I brought out a form I had typed at the business center with their school logo.
I told him that unfortunately he was going to repeat his class, because he wasn't doing well and all his classmates including his best friends were all going to move on to the next class.

I told him, I had already signed for his repeat, and there and then I could see the shock. He burst into tears and begian to cry.
He pushed his snacks away and told me not to accept and sign it.
I pretended to be helpless.

We got into the car and went back home, snacks forgotten grin
When we got home, I went into my room to pretend to cry while talking to myself that my son is going to repeat a class.

On Monday the following week, I already made his class teacher and proprietress know of my plan, so I went into their offices with him, gave them the fake form and told them I had signed up for him to repeat.
They began to beg me that he should not repeat that I should not allow him to repeat ( it was all drama). They were like how would your son feel when his friends and classmates are promoted?.

Finally I told them to give him a form to sign that if he doesn't improve, he will repeat.
They gave him a form for which I had earlier dropped off with them without him knowing. He agreed and signed it and wrote his name. The class teacher read it to him and he understood it perfectly.

To cut the long story short, he came first and carted away 5 awards in their school prize giving and graduation day.
And since then, he never looked back.
Psychologically he realized that if he could have done so well,to cart away awards and be acknowledged, he can continue like that all his life and be getting accolades while getting his good grades.

I know my children's emotions and I had to think out of the box to get results and I am happy I did.

But one thing you should know is that most little boys usually get playful st that age.
And again if your son is good In music, you can help him use that same music to improve on his grades.
We can talk more on that lster

angry I understand the Woman's pain, how big girl like this no go fit recite ABCD? But education isn't by force Sha , she can learn a skill in future or join the hookupians .. all join... cool cool grin
A lot of reasons can be attributed to him not learning on time.
Most children have slow learning pace and later pick up and move very fast.

It could even be as a result of the pressure the aunty is giving him at home.

He may be overwhelmed with house chores and have little or no time to rest so as to assimilate.
Fear too, can make him not to ever assimilate.

Poor nutrition
Constant beating and abuse would make him not concentrate.

Beating a child to learn is all shade of wrong and it usually does more harm than good.

Yes, you can subttly scold a child, but not make it a habit of instilling fear in them as it concerns learning.

A careful parent or guardian would try and find out what the problem is, and not just beating the child like that.

My son was a very fast learner in primary school, later on his grades began to drop. I know what I did, because I had to think out of the box, and he picked up again and began to do much better than before.
I didn't have to beat him.

Once that head or brain locks up, if you like use cutlass and open the head and shove the books inside, the books will still fall off.
Hope you get my point on this one? grin
