if you can swear an affidavit on his behalf, go to the bank with his death certificate or any other evidence to get his signature mandate. You can transmit it to yourself and claim on his behalf.
If you could liase with the registrar on this, you could be assisted. But you know how Nigeria things be.

follow the process stipulated by SEC on their website.
Type in the name of the person, the name, the stock and the registrar's would appear.
If the documents have been misplaced, you can go and swear an affidavit and just go to the bank and get signature mandate to confirm the ownership of the account.

Unfortunately I don't live in the country, the shares I bought long ago have been moved from one registrar to the other, hence they have been tossing me around yet no solution in sight

it happened to my family too.
The brokers usually buys the shares with pseudo names and from different organizations. They usually don't keep good records and recovery now becomes a problem.
If you have your documents, you can get through to them through mail or even phone call since you are not around and talk with them in the language they will understand

If you could call your registerers and provide them with an evidence that you own the account you are referring to, and go ahead to ask them for the value of your dividend, they would tell you

popsy was there when momma kicked the bucket back then in 2005....I was just barely 13years old then while my immediate younger brother was 7+....Popsy was jobless,but how he managed to kept us in private schools,with school fees being paid ahead of academic sessions have always left me in wonderment up till this very moment...
The truth's that popsy made sure we never lacked anything,both clothing, shelter and education as he played both paternal and maternal duties very well...
