bjhaid: their are more better movies than the wedding party, the movie wasn't really passing any message compared to the likes of "half of a yellow sun, "October 1st". The Film was meant to entertain and it did just that. In the peak of Winter, people troop to Wembley Stadium in London to watch football matches just to get entertained and not to receive any message! |

It was the same message that was passed to watchers of the Film 'The Wedding Party' The guests at the party rejected foreign foods and asked for local dishes. It was a good concept! |

For the very first time on Nairaland, the Southern Nairalanders are speaking with one voice. This is commendable! The secret of liberating the South from the North lies only on Southern Unity. The South wants progress and development and therefore must push vigorously to demand for the Restructuring of Nigeria. Enough of this backwardness!!! |

alsudaes1: Just FORCE them to give us prepaid metres,
Thatsall
That won't make us pay for what we didn't use, we will manage with the darkness they are issuing out and NOT paying for darkness It is amazing that the Minister is always silent on the matter of Prepaid meters. He should be more emphatic on that because the more people are metered the more the Discos will be forced to supply light. Right now, they make money supplying darkness and that should worry the Minister! |
Car Talk › Re: Breaking News: Governor Akinwumi Ambode Orders VIO Out Of Lagos Roads by murmee: 9:19am On May 09, 2017 |
That was how the Police stopped their men from erecting road blocks on the roads but the FRSC was allowed to continue stopping vehicles on city roads to ask for particulars. I think the role of the FRSC is to be on the Highways, e.g. Lagos-Ibadan express, Ore-Benin etc. to prevent accidents and rescue or assist victims of motor accidents.
The accident that claimed 26 lives on the Lagos-Ibadan express few days ago might not have happened if the FRSC men were on the spot where repairs on the road compelled vehicles from dual carriage lanes to merge into a single lane. The officers should have foreseen possible accident occurring and be there to prevent such. |

Politics › Re: It Is In Our Interest To Give Out Pre-paid Meters — CEO, Ikeja Electric by murmee: 9:59am On May 08, 2017 |
The CEO of Ikeja Electric is not making any sense.
(1) There are people that are willing to buy the Prepaid Meters at any price and forego any refund from Discos just to have peace of mind.
(2) It is wrong for any Disco to issue an estimated bill to an unmetered person based on what a metered person consumes as some people use more electric gadgets than others.
(3) What happens when the unmetered person travels out for like two or three months? Is it fair for him to come back to meet an estimated bill at his door? Will Disco expect him to pay for what he did not consume?
(5) Discos will be putting people under so much undeserved stress if they expect consumers to visit their offices so often to complain about estimated Bills!
For the sake of Peace and Progress, the Discos should dispense the Prepaid meters to their consumers. No more EXCUSES!!! |

chuose2: Anything worthwhile in Nigeria comes from the South.
The South needs to wake up and know that the North is simply free loading.
When Lagos asked for 1% of budget as former capital, It was rejected by the North.
When Niger Delta was given a promise that oil companies will relocate to the Niget delta, again the North Rejected it.
Yet the North get most of the top positions in govt.
We in the South need to ask ourselves a question, what good does the North give us?
We spend our money educating our children, and the North takes them for cheap under the guise of NYSC.
They bring the least and take the most. Hmmm...... Food for thought! |

A woman at 43 is already nearing menopause. Besides, if the woman has a child that is old enough to pay 20m into the prophet's account, what use again will the womb be to her if removed, she be rat wey dey reproduce every 2 weeks?
Abeg talk another thing. The woman is gullible. Simple! Thank you. Exactly my thoughts. The only possible outcomes after such an event would be that the Buhari cabal would quickly appoint one of their own as Vice President, or if that isn't possible due to Buhari's in disposition, then Saraki would be eminently pleased to take the reins of Power. I totally agree that a woman should not endure any form of abuse from her husband, partner or boyfriend. The blame, however, rests with mothers in that they are saddled with the responsibility of raising their sons to behave well.
When a mother sees nothing wrong in her son beating his sister (or girls generally) then she is raising a wife beater! These violent men don't drop from heaven, they are born by women who failed to reprimand them when they begin to show violent tendencies.
Let all mothers resolve to bring up their sons to love, respect and cherish their wifes or partners and extend same gesture to any woman they associate with. |

His level of reasoning is so shallow that i begin to wonder how we come about having him to rule over us in the first place. The blame of having him to rule us in the first place should go to nobody else than Obasanjo! OBJ was simply looking for someone weak and dumb to manipulate and GEJ was that person! |
