emmykk: if when MKO mandate was cancelled they didnt do anything there is nothing yoruba can do about breaking nigeria....they are the fear fear people of Nigeria My dear, how old are you? You probably are too young to know what NADECO is. Why did you think Obasanjo was quickly sought out to govern Nigeria? It was to pacify the Yorubas that were so angry that Abiola's mandate was cancelled and the man was later killed in prison. Let your older brothers/sisters or your parents tell you what NADECO did to frighten even a Military government! |
Family › Re: Man Discovers 32-year-old ‘son’ Isn’t His Child (photos) by murmee: 8:27am On Feb 15, 2017 |
mechanics: the man should just take him as his adopted son, since he has spend so much on him, i dont think the son will forget the man at this stage. Not because he has spent so much on him but because there is a bond of love and closeness between the man and son that nothing can stop. It will be difficult for the young man to stop referring to the old man as his Dad and vice versa. In all honesty, a child's parent/s is the person or persons that raised the child. That is why some children are closer to their grandmother or their aunts or whoever raise them than to their biological parents. |

grandstar: Very sad.
Its quite common these days.
Its best men secretly take a DNA test of all their children to ascertain their DNA. Better to know early than die of a heart attack when old!) Running a DNA test on New born babies should be routine in all our maternity hospital/wards. A lot of men nurture children that are not theirs biologically. |
Politics › Re: Fashola: I Will Resist Payment When There Is No Electricity by murmee: 8:56am On Feb 14, 2017 |
Standing5: I repeat, this man isn't fit for a power minister. How can u say people will pay more when it is more stable? Is he saying the cost of generation per KwH of 'stable' power will be higher? It should be cheaper even, because vandalism cost will be gone. Fashola is fit for flower and not power. He is after money and has proven it again. You got it twisted. What the Minister said was that more people will be willing to pay if the supply of light is reasonably constant. The reason most people don't pay their electricity bills is because they have used the money budgeted for Disco bills to buy petrol for their generators. But I'm surprised that the Minister didn't talk about compelling the Discos to provide Prepaid meters. It is one sure step to solving a lot of power problems! |

doublewisdom: And how much did he Sanusi steal under Jonathan? To me, the worst culprit in this matter is Ngozi Okonjo Iwela. As the Finance Minister at that time, she cannot say she didn't know that such massive looting was going on. Like Sanusi, she said she raised alarm but the most effective way to have called the attention of the whole world to the Stealing was to have RESIGNED and say why she did so. Instead, she stayed and supervised the stealing that was going on left, right and center. There's no how she can beat her chest and say she did not partake in the unprecedented Stealing! |

Businessideas: What's this man saying? Is it discos that blew up gas pipelines delivering gas to power plants? Why can't people say the truth in their life? The power plants are down because they don't have gas and if no power is generated, how does he expect them to deliver electricity to homes? He should hold the senators from the Niger Delta responsible for not doing enough to stop bombing of gas pipelines in their constituencies. For the past few months, I am yet to finish the Kilowatts of electricity I loaded on my meter because there's hardly light and I wonder how the discos manage to survive when we their customers have not recharged for months yet someone is still blaming them? It's not their fault and as a matter of fact, they're more of victims of intense political power play. I support the government's move to move over to hydro power generation since the gas power plant is at the mercy of the miscreants that called themselves militants What caught my attention is the paragraph where you said you have not exhausted your meter credit in months and you wonder how the discos manage to survive. My dear, I can tell you for free that the discos survive on Estimated Bills. That is the reason they (Discos) especially Ikeja Disco, do not want to reduce the number of people on Estimated bills by providing prepaid meters. When they can make the majority of Nigerians pay for darkness, why would they want to buy energy from Gencos to supply to you. All Nigerians on Estimated Bills must reject this MENACE by saying enough is enough!!! |

This is a sheer display of ignorance Much as I understand the problems the Buhari administration inherited from the last Government, I really don't expect Tinubu to utter those statements. Is he not an Accountant? Perhaps the people that said Tinubu has 'Toronto' certificate are right because a real Accountant will not talk the way he did. donfemo: Our Bad roads alone is a speed limit, i don't understand what FRSC is doing Precisely! With the traffic congestion in all the major cities in Nigeria and the bad state of most of these roads, is it really possible to overspeed? The only time one can overspeed in the cities will be from 11pm-12am when the roads are clear of traffic. |

Politics › Re: Yoruba Leaders Meet In Akure, Make Case For Restructuring by murmee: 10:51am On Feb 01, 2017 |
SpecialAdviser: I really think Yorubas should be more aggressive just like the Igbos in confronting this northern domination .
History has shown that we cannot achieve anything tangible voting and hoping for something miraculous.
The north has always opposed anything that will ensure speedy progress in Nigeria just because of their fear for break up.
Time to confront them with two options is here. Either restructure or break up. Let me also explain further. Have u ever imagined what it will look like, having having Yorubas pour out in protest to demand for Oduduwa Republic just at the time Igbos are demanding for Biafra republic? I bet u, the north will call for a round table discussion. Their best bargain will be restructuring. That is what I mean by more aggressive. The sad part of this struggle is that the the South West and the South East/South South are not united in the demand for the Restructuring. The greatest advantage of the North over the South is that the South of Nigeria is not speaking with one VOICE. Already, the South East has shifted their focus on 2023 Presidency as if the North will allow it to happen. The South never learn from history. It's a Shame! |

PETUK: Lemme clarify this as an Akwa Ibomite, the only problem here is the Governor's hand in the pocket, we don't Prostrate to people (Human) as we consider it an act of Worship Even if prostrating is not your culture, what about a bow? When the Prime Minister of UK greets the Queen of England, he shakes her hand and bows (bends his head downwards) at the same time. Prostrating or bowing to greet elders, traditional rulers or people holding positions of authority is not an act of worship but an act of courtesy! |

Seunpaul01: One question that needs answering.
What will happen if the oil firm finish repairing the refinery? Will they take over? Does repairing it means it has been sold to them? The reason successive Federal Government give for not selling the refineries is that they don't want to sell them as scraps. Yet once the refineries are refurbished, the Government will neither privatise nor sell it (them). The truth of the matter is that there's a high powered cabal benefiting seriously from those refineries and it has been going on for decades! |
