Knowledge9000: If you declare, problem. If you refuse to declare, problem. What do you need my friend? Forget about all these lies about Bureau de change receipt and bank slip nonsense...they will ask for more. No be Naija we dey. They just want to cut share from it.

What do you think the Gentleman is taking such amount of money to China for if not for business? Who is so foolish to launder money to China...for what if not business.

Now, you people have to understand that, in Nigeria today, it is difficult to wire huge amount of money, virtually impossible and the limit for private individual from personal accounts is $10,000 a day( CBN stipulated this well over 7 yrs ago)except you have to open up a business/commercial account to wire more but still has limit and rigorous application for approval . The Gentleman figured out that as an individual with personal account, wiring upwards of $400,000 will take well over 80-90 days( 3 months) including wire downtime as wire takes at least 2-3 days and non working days(weekends & holidays). So he decided to do this and many business men/women going to China and Qatar do this.
so why is he the only one getting arrested?

Arysexy: Divide d damn country. He who carry cutlass never allow a cutlass wielding man to cross his back. Let senate committee on CUSTOM, NPA, NNPC, ITF, PRISONS, INEC, SON etc review the Federal character position of employement in these parastatals and let the fowl nyash open and see how hausa have murdered this country with nepotism. I wept when i did IT at NNPC Headquarters Abuja. Hausa and yoruba lingua franca were d means of communication that place and on Friday once its 12noon, work closes as the mosque inside the tower becomes another Mecca. From their prayer they go home. Who cares to ask y.
Hausa is the major language in atleast 16 of the 36 states in nigeria. Yoruba, 7 states and Igbo, 5 states. So if all states are equally represented, its only natural that you hear more hausa spoken in any government establishment. This should by no means be used as a yardstick for measuring nepotism as you want to have us believe.

If you want to convince us, give us hard facts, in any government institution where u have for example 1000 staff from Sokoto and 200 staff from Enugu.

Tell your igbo sister to get her acts together.

Hmmn, Rihanna purchased a $12m mansion and it has become hot news in America. Now, a civil servant in Nigeria is building a house of $100m.

As of July, 2012, the white house is worth $110m.
As of 2010, 10 downing street is worth £4.5m ($9m)

godsboy4eva: Just tired of NNPC/NNPC RETAIL wahala since 2010, those guys are not serious!
Moreover, the current NNPC RETAIL recriutment is majorly for sales(Gas stations) people while I'm an IT professional.
When it started in 2010 I was much younger but now my aim is not entry-level jobs but experienced hire.
I interviewed for IT and the panel told me that one of my responsibilities would be managing the IT infrastructure of NNPC Retail to ensure their systems and applications (Network, servers, SAP etc)are running smoothly. Sounds good to me.

When yakowa was running for governor of kaduna, we the northern muslims were understandably against him due the fear of the unknown. The jos saga has constantly preyed on our mind and we see yakowa as possibly playing the divisive politics of jonah jang. Yakowa proved us all wrong. He showed sincerity of purpose and was impartial to both muslims and christians. He was to us muslims what makarfi was to christians. Yakowa will be truly missed. Please join me in wishing this great man a peaceful eternal rest.

Truckpusher: Did you read the article? or you just jumped to the heading and concluded that all that money was stolen by the president and at the same time setting up committees to uncover himself?
Leaving thieves to steal the money is worse than him stealing them himself. I would rather he stole all the money himself. This way we will know that our money is in one place and know where to get them when the time comes......speaking of setting up committee i want to ask if you sincerely see any hope of anything ever coming out of those committees. They have rubbished the work of every single committee they have set up. How can you set up a committee to investigate a committee, anyway? Jonathan is taking daftness to a different level never seen before, i tell you.
Jokes EtcRe: 10 Types Of People On Nairaland by murtalaa(m): 8:25pm On Nov 24, 2012
saltanmilala: [b]1. The Lurker – This person never posts anything. Never likes anything. Never comments on anything. However, in casual conversation they will mention, "Oh yeah, I saw you had posted that on Nairaland." You know they are there, but they leave no trace evidence.

2. The Stalker – The stalker is not that much different from the lurker. You know they are there. You know they read EVERYTHING you post. They may even mention it to others in face-to-face conversations. They look at all your photos. They may even send you chat messages or post on your wall – a lot. As with stalkers in real life, the Nairaland stalker must be gotten rid of. Stalking is a crime out here in the real world. My suggestion – Mods block them.

3. The Thief – Have you ever posted something on Nairaland only to find that the thread has been taken over by someone else? They may just take over the conversation or they may change the subject entirely. They may even steal your status and post it as their own. i am also a thief because i stole this idea and edited some few things..... If it keeps happening, unfriend them or block them.

4. The Attention Seeker – The attention seeker posts cryptic comments like, "how does this change the price of garri in the market,"

5. The Promoter – This Nairalander only posts links to his/her blog, or invites you to every concert, or only posts about Mary Kay or Scentsy or For Ladies Only. I don't mind shameless self-promotion, but use other social sites for that, not your personal profile.

6. The gamer – Does nothing else than to come to nairaland and start up silly games.....

7. The preacher – This optimist only posts inspirational topics or anything related to God. I love God. He is totally awesome. I love inspirational quotes too. Just don't make it the only think your nairaland account is about. Or, get a fan page.

8. The Drunk – While great for entertainment late at night, or in some extreme cases by 10am, the drunk only posts when they have had one too many. Posts often need a cypher to understand and can be very angry. It is suggested that you advise your friend against drunk posting. If you ARE the drunk I highly recommend quitting. Drinking. Not commenting on Nairaland. Then you don't have to wake up and try to delete drunken posts all your friends already saw anyway.

9. The Whiner – Every topic is about how horrible their life is. How much it hurts or sucks to be them. They post cryptic comments like, "I told you, you know who you are," in the hopes that people will fall into their trap and ask what happened. They also tend to over share personal details. I don't need to know about your bathroom habits. we dont want to know your problems,ok

10. The Poor Grammarian – This is the person who spells so badly that you want to ask how on Earth they can not write simple sentences in their native language. Punctuation is ignored or abused. Even if you are using a smart phone to post to Facebook, they have spell check! They have auto correct. They have qwerty keyboards. At least TRY to spell correctly! Please. ok?

PoliticsRe: Religious Violence Erupts In Bichi, Kano by murtalaa(m): 4:20am On Nov 23, 2012
When a northerner is robbed by street thugs in the south or when a northerner had scuffles with a southerner its called robbery and fight respectively. The same scenario happens in the north and you hear all kind of names from religious violence, terrorism and what have you. Northerners are robbed, killed and maimed in the south but we don't invade internet barking and condemning the whole igbo, yoruba or even christians as responsible. No, we say criminals did it. May Allah save us from illiterates and backward thinking bigots.
PoliticsRe: Religious Violence Erupts In Bichi, Kano by murtalaa(m):
When i meet any Igbo, Yoruba, or christian in real world i don't see the remotest sign of any hatred or ill feeling towards me on account of my religion or tribe. But the story is completely different on nairaland. What am I missing? Could the Igbo, Yoruba and Christians i call friends secretly hate my gut with the same intensity i read on nairaland? No, i don't think anybody could be that cowardly as to habour so much hatred and just bottle it all in. So, my conclusion is that these nlanders are in no way representative of the ethnic groups in Nigeria and why should any bigoted fool, who is no better off than those he is castigating, matter to me?

Bezed: i wonder why grown ups cant read in between lines be4 commenting, the research team stated it clearly that it is 'time of death' in the day, like the hour, not the date as in the month or year.. And like every scientific rule or law, with this one not an exception, it is usually in an ideal condition, in other words, time of death when some one dies a natural death not pre-, like that of accidents
my brother they just want you to swallow this one first and you can guess what follows next
