In addition to the points above, why not think of how to make (prospective) employers notice you? This can be done via networking basically - seminars, friend-meet-friend, linkedin etc. Think of yourself as a brand rather than as a product that needs marketing. It's what you've showcased that has made you tested and trusted that endears peeps to you. Don't get my explanation twisted o! Am just a believer of - 'make the best use of what you've got'. 1 Like |

Jarus: I don't see it as a problem. I can do, and think you too should be able to.Same here. It all depends on your passion and your judgment of your capabilities to execute both. Whilst we are all different and have variations in assimilation, If I were you, especially since I have a 'nicety' for IT, just take a look at the CISA book, go through it and estimate whether you think you'd be able to easily digest what's in there with the weeks you've got after ICAN exams and CISA exam date. ... Kockane: ABEG don't forget to mention honesty.Which company is not concerned about the ethical views of their (prospective) employees? Even if you assume it's expected, still mention your PERSONAL VALUES and link it with the coy's CORE VALUES. Every responsible coy wants to reduce operational risk/fraud and legal fees/time that would be wasted by the (in)actions of a 'corrupt' employee. |

Inasmuch as am also pissed off with all of these networks (at least, I've used 3/4), their 'excuses' also goes to show you how we shoot ourselves in the foot in Nigeria. Making things difficult for ourselves seems to be a hobby. We keep making businesses difficult to operate especially without adequate infrastructures yet we are soliciting investors. It's like govt handing out a fine to a driver that didn't adhere to traffic light rules whilst the traffic lights are not working. 1 Like |

@Ajanlekoko mentioned some vital points here. There just has to be a balance otherwise it'd get to a time where your certificates are too 'experienced' for the job you wanna apply for. Imagine? So, like someone mentioned, in Education for example Msc etc are certainly needed. This goes to show you that you need to understand the career path you're taking and know the 'requirements' that are useful in that line. Unfortunately, Nigeria is not an 'equal job opportunity provider' if you understand the context I used that in but if you can get a job, you can also advance in your studies. Some people choose to select jobs that are 'less stressful' to enable them have this time. Personally, am a student of knowledge so I don't think you ever have to stop improving yourself, you actually have to manage yourself. If you're gonna climb up the ladder, you'd at least know how the bottom of the ladder is/was otherwise if you think your MBA would automatically know make you know how 'your subordinates' operate when you're up there, then the org culture go get -ish. |

I support @Daresh too. It's how you make the most out of your qualifications that matter. It appears this lady in question is living in a 'confirmation bias' state of mind. She seems to be in the search for the so-called 'education gap' that would further widen her relationship gap. Let them have a talk over it I'd suggest and let her express her 'fears' to the man and from there both of them should decide if they're or they can cope with this seeming 'inferiority complex' in their relationship. It seems some people are yet to realise that marriage doesn't need GCE or PhD qualifications, it's the co-operation and will of both parties to make two to tango that matters. |

By now, I'd imagine that you'd know how to LIVE WITH THEM. People are different and for the fact that for over 2 decades they've been with you, you ought to be matured enough to handle them by now - their likes and dislikes in summary. Perhaps you should stop seeing yourself as the 'kid' but a woman. Whilst your parents might have dogmas that you don't share but still try to make peace with them 'cos you know when you 'get your freedom', you'd eventually live by your household rules. Am emphasizing 'manage' 'cos when you get married too, you'd still face another individual with different '-ishes'. So, stop running away from 'problems' and find solutions or reduce the 'damages'. Don't forget you'd still need them (i.e your parents) anyway even when you're outta their house. |

Your first job might come through that nerdish looking chap or the mouthy babe.This can not be over-emphasized. Networking is highly crucial. Do not make the mistake of 'seclusion'. However, just 'use your head' to choose those who add value to your life and for those who are 'bad boys' or whatever negative term you want to ascribe to them, just know how to maintain a balance with them for who knows, they may come in handy one day in situations you'd never expect. Every individual is useful, it's how you tap into them, 'explore' and make the best use of them that matters. |

What is noticeable about your posts are your concerns about the pay package. It appears you've got better offers or something.  It's almost like if the pay ain't worth it (according to your standards) you'd rather spend your money on the masters program. Actually, you can commence and complete your registration online at ACCA's website. However, Finaquest is popular at Abuja for tution services. I remember they also got the tuition learning certification from ACCA last year or so. Under the settings, the only thing you should do is just input your APN in the internet settings e.g. 'internet.ng.airtel.com' for Airtel, 'etisalat' for Etisalat etc depending on the network. Don't bother entering anything else, just the APN of the network, that's all. |
