Yep,

It is large, which is y I provided a link wink

He is a brazilian. Showed his skills at the last U-17 championships. If you really want to read about him, you can start from the sun's sports section. In the column, they spell out in english what he was doing in the video. As they say though, a video is worth a million words (get it? a picture is worth a thousand words and a video is worth a thousand pictures cool cool)

Good luck!!

frankiriri,

woooow! i remember when it was 50 Kobo shocked

I use a stockbroker. My broker says that it is veeery hard t get as demand is veeeery high. So it is best going thru them as they buy in bulk after which they sell it piece-meal to their clients.

So, if u don't hv a broker already and you really need to buy transcorp stock, you might wanna go that route wink

I hope this helps.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Is Christian Dating So Difficult? by my2cents(m): 3:45pm On Nov 28, 2006
Letz get real. whether or not he agrees with my post, when chidebe refers to dating as an xtian being difficult, he is more or less referring to the fact that it is harder to get into the pants of his wd-b date. Even if he doesn't have "bedmatics" in mind, the way guys operate these days, it is getting tougher (can you blame them? cool) to convince a girl that dating won't turn into an eventual "wild monkey dance", with a relationship that has a potential of going nowhere immediately after.

But wetin I sabi? Just my 2 cents.
InvestmentRe: Impending IPO Of Dangote Sugar Refinery by my2cents(m): 3:41pm On Nov 28, 2006
freelance,

u cant just flat out say pple shdnt invest in mutual funds (aka "unit trusts" in naija). They have their place. Those who are sort of risk-averse should consider this. Of course, there are commissions involved and the rate of returns aren't that high, but with a sound investment strategy, that shdnt be a problem. Besides, with a unit trust, you are the owner of a basket of stocks which helps spread your risk around, as opposed to say, investing in 2 or 3 stocks only. Worse-case, you can invest directly (stocks) and indirectly (unit trusts) at the same time.

What should be of more importance is how the unit trust is performing against the ASI. I would personally recommend unit trusts to anyone who is into the market for the first time. As always, any stock market investments should be seen as long-term and investors should be aware of the risk of losing it all. In other words, don't be trigger-happy cool

But of course, wetin I sabi? Just my 2 cents wink

onydchic,

Inasmuch as I don't like trumpet-blowing, there are times when it is necessary, especially when dealing with the "who does this guy/gal think he/she is? Just coming in here and talking crap. Don't they know I am a 'webmaster'?" type of pple. In other words, atimes it is necessary to put pple on their levels.

Even the meekest of individuals do blow their tops from time to time. Personally, I assume everyone I interact with is better than I am until they prove themselves otherwise (and blv me, this happens more often than you would think cool).

Personally, I don't see anything egotistical about any of the comments so far, but hey, thatz my opinion I guess. By telling me more about yourself, I will then determine the level of respect as far as the game goes, to give you. Also, by so doing, it also serves, at least to me, as a marketing tool. The less you tell pple, the less the biz u shd expect to get.

In the end, wetin I sabi sef? My 2 cents as always wink

AdvertsRe: How To Make Money Selling .com.ng by my2cents(m): 2:20pm On Nov 26, 2006
I say - send a message to whoever is preventing us Africans from registering a domain using a name that was given to us by ICANN or whoever wink

If you can't register .com.ng, either register .com, .org, etc (which is probably what oyibo wants) or come up with the technology to enable us name, register and host our own domain names. When oyibo sees this, by law of demand and supply, demand for what he does will fall and so will his prices. In essence, he goes out of biz.

As long as we as Nigerians have this "How we go do now?" mentality, oyibo will always be taking advantage of us. On another note, it takes place even in the airline biz. Right now, it is cheaper to fly from the US to Egypt than it does to fly to Nigeria. Yet, especially this time of the yr, you need to look no further than the long lines, and pple checking in 13 pieces of luggage (at $175 per extra luggage shocked shocked) at the int'l airlines to c that we are suckers for going home, especially during "high season". Typical responses to y they submit to such slavery is "how we go do now? I hv to go home". If we all decided not to go, or better yet Naija had a reliable airline that plied not just new york city, prices would definitely go down. Hey, it happened during the short-lived world airways years.

Ok, I am off my soapbox now. Sorry for switching lanes on you all like that, but hey, I just had to get it off my chest cool

Crownvilla,

You are right. The currency was changed to prevent the choppers from easily exchanging it to forex.

As far as the exchange rate, even if you're wrong, I myself am old enough to know that there was a time (1980 to be specific tongue) when the exchange rate was 80K to $1. It was so favorable to us that oyibo used to come to Nigeria to spend vacation. Our arrogance was reflected in the statement by a one-time 1970s minister of finance or so -"Our problem is not money but how to spend it".

Then came "Austerity" and "I'm checking out". Oh, how times have changed sad
TravelRe: Most Romantic Holiday Destination In Nigeria? by my2cents(m): 1:53pm On Nov 26, 2006
Assuming this isn't the case, the only pple who should be suggesting here should be those who have been to enough places to make a **factual** comparison. In other words, if you have only been to one place or worse yet, only heard of certain places, don't open your traps cool Don't make suggestions based on ignorant bias either grin

Of all the places that we have there, I myself have only been to Obudu Cattle Ranch. I am not about to recommend it as the most romantic place to go to because other places may be more romantic.

my 2 cents, QED cool
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Drogba: I'm Better Than Thiery Henry by my2cents(m): 1:50pm On Nov 26, 2006
To me, it all depends on when the video game was made. Drogba is good. but lets face it - last season, going back at least 3 seasons, Henry was much better. Video game companies can't just go in and change their source code just because Drogba is doing much better this season.

Drogba should find solace in the fact that if he continues this way, even if he never scores again for the remainder of the season while Henry does a complete turn around himself, come next yr, the next video game(s) to come out will have him rated higher than Henry smiley

Either way, I don't like the trumpet-blowing.

ProgrammingRe: Basics Of PHP Programming? by my2cents(m): 6:27pm On Nov 22, 2006
In general, I would like to say that we be careful when it comes to how we approach teaching newbies.

If they want to learn, say, C++, then we should teach them C++. We shouldn't say "check out JAVA cos it is an OO language". This might scare them away. Even in school, the teachers don't teach this way.

If the dude wants to know PHP, teach him that. Don't use it as an opportunity to blow your own trumpet unawares.

my 2 cents.

This may come a little late, as due to the magic of time difference, I am writing this at 11am GMT, but here it goes:

5th row, after the block that says "magnet white boards - no chalk dust", y is there extra white space? It seems, at least to me, that you should balance out the contents of that row. So either increase the widths of the other boxes proportionally to cover the space, or put something in it. Right now, it is throwing off the grid effect you have on the page.

Also, I would, again just me, not insert that blue stripe in the middle of the page. I don't think it's necessary. Perhaps you could finda way to put it in that white space I mentioned above? wink

Other than that, looks good to me. smiley

Though av always liked networking,
well may, i think u just answered ur own question cool

In general, you always want to concentrate on what you know you like. If for whatever reason though (poor pay, etc), you decide not to pursue networking, then focus on the next best discipline with comp. sc. (CS) and learn/know it well.

but as a graduate of computer science, i think i ought to be vast in all d branches of i.t
I would strongly advise that, like the kung fu masters, you not be a jack of all trades and a master of none. Sure, it is good to know enough of everything to be dangerous, but when it boils down to it, you should concentrate on one or at most 2 disciplines and master it well.

I hope this helps.

Well, don't feel bad sis. Granted it's a man's world, there is nothing wrong in being in whatever male-dominated field you may find yourself. In fact, you should use it to not only encourage fellow females to the fold but to prove a point that what a man can do, a woman can do better (well, in some cases wink)

At my current employer's, there are 25 of us in the department. Only 1 of them is a woman. We call her our "mother". Very smart and indeed acts like a mom when it comes to helping those who need help in coding or say, settling disputes amongst co-workers.

Keep the faith baby girl!! cool

So, are you implying that there are those who say PS is bad? I am a bit confused.

Not to spk for everyone, it could be such factors as - high cost, availability of opensource graphics programs, or even the fact that cos Mr A started in say Fireworks, therefore it must be good for Mr B - have made some pple come to such a conclusion.

I personally have been in the game since 1999 and have been using PS. I am aware of other programs like fireworks, but must confess that having used PS for such a long time, I am not about to switch boats now. By the way, all the places I have worked to date have all used PS. Does that mean PS is the best? Maybe. I am not a designer but again, all those whom I have worked with use PS.

heck! doctors call the fake archetypes quacks, does that mean every doctor is a quack?
Kambo, with the above quote, I am happy to see that you have backtracked on your generalization. Ur statement reminds me of that person long time ago (sorry I forget the name, but if you google it, I am sure you will find out wink) who came up with a problem of induction that states thus, "how many white swans must one observe b4 one comes to the conclusion that all swans are white?"

Be careful about generalization. Your opening remarks up top smelled of it hence my defense of my brothers-in-arms, as horrible as some (note, I said "some" and not all cool) sites may seem.

No shakes my man. Just as there are bad web designers/developers, there are also (dare I say it? wink) bad app developers - those who write procedural code with a OO language, those who don't unit test, those who don't use appropriate error-handling, to mention but a few grin
