Sultty:It's not really as cheap as people assume. Though quick to construct but you need to pay attention to the hidden costs. One of the hidden costs of a container is the cost of transportation to your site and the cost to rent a crane to set it onto the foundation. If the interior finishes are EXACTLY the same as what you'd get in a traditional brick and mortar build then its cost comparison of being cheaper or not will only be felt in the amount spent on the foundation, carcassing, and the roof. To set the records straight, most people will not see it as a home to live. |
luvablesam:He's moving with trend sir. Just be sure there's no compromise on the quality of the iron used and the roof design is solid. I'll upload something cool shortly. |
davodyguy:Sakara oloje ni! |
davodyguy:I like people who are very detailed. |
Adedward:The interesting part is I can use any type of material. The difference will be how I use it. If a project is on tight-string budget, the job of a an experienced builder/contractor is to make things work and not to scare your client away. There are few projects in my portfolio that fall into budget build category that eventually turned out great at the very end. _____ Pic 1 - Cheap Large Windows (The Reserve by NextHome, 2014) Pic 2 - Cheap Tiles The owner of this project earn as much as N3.5m per flat per annum on her building since 2015. We simply went for good enough. For over 5 years, she gets about N12m+ from her 66m investment.

Wow! Our first construction journal on kobocity.com (wholly self built) Here: https://www.kobocity.com/d/80/94

Today, I carried out a preliminary site survey at a site in Lagos. I am super-excited to see developers and construction pros adopting alternative building methods and solutions in the naija real estate landscape. Fresh project looming in Jesus name. Amen You’d love every bit of this construction.

EgunMogaji2:Nice one. Sir, please don’t forget to drop tithe for your congregation o. |
djsjxjfjdisjdjb:I’m not the builder. We were just engaged to provide a service - concreting. If however, you want something cool, we can come up with a great design that match your dream and lifestyle. |
djsjxjfjdisjdjb:Yes it is. |
bixton:New project will eventually become old one day ![]() |
folmus:Baba you forgot to mention that there were issues that we didn’t envisage along the line and we handled it like mature men do and not like a slave and boss transaction. Thanks for your business sir! |
DFAMEGUY11S:Hey bro, I be Nigerian with a difference and I appreciate you and all others doing great stuffs on here. Keep up the good work. I understand the huge risks and challenge of your business even when you try to do everything to make things go smooth and I can only give you few advice on how to avoid issues with your clients in the future. The best we can do for ourselves is to equip each other with knowledge on how to become a better businessman. This is for those who have something to offer and not the wannabes. I’d encourage you to up your game by working with reputable logistics company to handle your deliveries to other states. The logistics company pays for damages if there are any issue with the product while it was being transported to your client. It’s comes at extra cost but be upfront with your client and let them make a choice. Don’t take too much on yourself! You’re not a transporter and I’m sure you’re not equipped for it. Find reliable company to work with and make your client smile all the time. I once paid 25k to transport a window from Lagos to Ibadan, the driver decided to load more package with the window and ended up scratching the glass. He decided to deliver it late at night when no one would see the scratch. Buy a van if necessary to serve your repeat customers better. You’re doing well bro! I notice what you’re doing. It matters a lot. Well done!

@Dijita Smiles. Nairaland is such a funny community. You talk, they’ll attack you. You keep mute to have a clear understanding of what’s happening, they’ll still have something against you. Na here we dey when I invited my junior folk who’s a police officer to help me handle a “omo onile” issue on one of my client site, the clients rep took picture and the client started sharing it on nairaland that police has arrested me. You need evidence. I’ll present 100s within the shortest time possible including the person who took the picture; the name of the officer in the picture even his office. . A liar (whether homeowner or landowner, diasporan or resident, local or foreigner, rich or above average) will do anything to make his/her lies look presentable. Here’s the thing: A userid that you don’t know and has never had any dealings with you raised an allegation against you. The first thing to do is not to offer explanation but to investigate the issue. You need to know who is accusing you; his motivation and prepare your defense before you start talking like a parrot. Unfortunately, on the same day the allegation was raised, n3xt and brabusng ID were banned. Nairaland ban takes 24 hours. Nairaland admins can confirm this. So how can you deny or offer explanation on something you don’t even understand and coming from userid who you’re just e-meeting for the first time. Now, let’s accept n3xt beat about the bush for 48 hours and take it as the right thing to attack. Do you feel good supporting someone who raised an allegation of fraud without a proof? A simple Yes or No response will suffice here. It’s almost 2 weeks that we have been trying to substantiate a baseless accusation (a usual tradition here) and guess what it’s still the accused who get bashed for not defending himself. (the usual naija jungle justice tradition)@Dijita Sir, may I ask for the 100th time to help us ask the accuser to explain how brabus defrauded him and present facts and not some stories. |
Blessedsunny2:Thanks. |
Blessedsunny2:How much? |
beamNIGERIA:Do we really have to do a meeting over that? It’s the logical thing. Besides, it was spelt out in black and white (the scope of the job and the roles of the parties involved). Here’s one thing I know “When you come up with a N3m lie, you’ll either need another 3 million lies to cover it up or do character assassination.” When you start seeing “all na packaging ” “he hijacked...” “he’s posting old projects...” You should know what to expect. Talk wetin him do... na him be my question. How he take collect N3m from you if you’re not the fraud! I remain Brabus and I’m here everyday! Abeg it’s a long day... I need to relax for another exciting day tomorrow. _____ Na here we dey wey dem accuse brabus of N5m fraud but the person suppose come show us the evidence of N5m collected back from Brabus na. boyestic:Thanks. We all must learn how to correct in love. |
Amastermovic:Ohk! Thanks. If I'm doing volume, I believe I should get a good bargain. |

My dad told me ”Learn to shut the door of relationship gently because you may need to use it later.” I think we’re all guided by our moral compass. “I’ll show him who I am.” “He’ll leave to regret ever knowing someone like me.” “You’ll rot in hell.” “I’ll collect my N10 change from that motor boy.” “I’ll snuggle life out of his business.” Moral compass is an internalized set of values and objectives that guide a person with regard to ethical behavior and decision-making. ______ For a power-seeker, revenge is a way to remind others you're not to be trifled with. Hence in an uncontrolled community or state where the rule of law is weak and everyone is everything, revenge provides a way to keep order. |
Focusmind:On the flip side, the house has an atrium which allows natural lighting inside the building even when all windows (dining, main lounge, kitchen, family lounge, ante room, stairwell) are closed and blinds shut. This reduces the need for excess superficial illumination. |
wesellubuy:Thanks for the feedback. We’ll add your review to his page on kobocity.com @mountmoriah me too go soon buy market ![]() |
Focusmind:Thanks Baba! Point well noted. My client is right here reading everything (the good and the bad) ![]() No. 3 is just an accent wall. We proposed to use burnt bricks there which is the signature of the estate where the proposed design will be built. The design is mix of elements. The client is wanted us to create something that won’t make his built too distant from the estate’s prototype designs. So on the ground floor, we have gray concrete wall, slat door, burnt brick accent wall, glass (about 5m x 2.2m) and fin (concrete wall screen) - a modern replacement for the traditional pillars. _____ The marked green area below will be glass.
|
BashyBuilds:Great! You must be a very great finisher. The client fall into the category of those with BIG taste when it comes to finishes. Now that I know, there are couple of stuffs we can do together. You’d definitely know Mr Olumide (the contemporary door maker) then. |
BashyBuilds:Welcome back chairman. I saw this build below in your portfolio. Shey na you design and build am? The house be like say na the project wey I design and built in Diamond Estate, Sangotedo in 2013 https://www.nairaland.com/1207845/paper-brick-construction-semi-detached-duplex Everything just look same including the position of the electricity pole.
