mank1234:How much are we looking at? Our strength lies in our number. ![]() |

davodyguy:This is not bad at all! |
Nero2424:It may be possible. The client who did that was a very big importer in Lagos. _____ Are you looking at 40ft container for roofing sheets alone? Or including other stuffs? |
Nero2424:It’s possible. I did a project here few years ago. The client ordered everything from roofing to bathroom fixtures and wardrobes from china in a 40ft container. I think it took 60 days. _______ Also there are Chinese companies talking to us directly on our projects. But we are doing this for a mini-estate requiring over 10,000sqm

Fortunately, we can spend few nairas on nairaland to advertise the new platform. |
EgunMogaji2:It’s cool but I’m looking at a platform where we can have full control. FB Group is limited in my opinion. I tried something before but it was on a free platform (Proboards). It’s more like an advanced version of nairaland.
|
EgunMogaji2:We take it one step at a time. If there’s any platform you think we can replicate. Pls feel free to share. We have great guys who’d do amazing job on this project. Whether CChub or the likes, we have them. Here’s one of our wonderboys in Oke Bola being interviewed by the Google Team.
|
EgunMogaji2:This is long overdue. We had this discussion about 7 years ago. There are far bigger platform than Nairaland that are well moderated. I game if I see anyone who’s interested. Let’s start with a premium platform for DIY homeowner/hobbyists. Our job is just to design the framework. There are smart guys who will do the job for cheap.

bayo2018: megacontrol:Here’s a very good example: https://www.nairaland.com/6335460/imota-rice-mill-nears-completion#97509682 Land is still being sold around +/- 500k around this project and the prospect is very high. |
DrGoodman:Smiles. It won’t take me 2 minutes to do a video but “I won’t do it.” Hold on to what you chose to believe bro! |
megacontrol:- Changing Roof - Windows - Adding a slab when you realize new houses around you are stored buildings - Installing POP Ceiling - and so on. ______ As at the time I was building a particular project, a man in diaspora was also building a gigantic structure next to me. Fast forward to 3 years later, the man’s daughter came home and she drove down to the gate of the house that I built believing it should be owned by someone in diaspora. When she realized it wasn’t their building, she turn back in despair and eventually they were forced to rent out the building. |
bayo2018:It’s not a bad ideaif you can afford it. The cost of updating features in the not-too-distant future might cost you more. |
michlins:Joking right? I think you should come in and try one good job. You’ll change your song. |
Jasobry:Go to Jibowu. |
Jasobry:It’s expensive but not something unachievable. Everything is just about the quality of wood. |
Jasobry:It’s far more expensive. Maybe five times more. |
rajput4real93:What thickness? 8cm or 6cm? 6cm - #400 8cm - #450 |

EgunMogaji2:You cannot take our place sir. I have 8 years unfinished. ![]() Oke Bola!! My root!!! |
beebah247:It’s not important. The second we treat trolls as an inescapable part of our community, we have given them the permission to terrorize our territory. That’s why I kept asking “Is this the best approach? Are these our best feet? Can’t we maintain decorum while such issues are treated? Must it always result to an eye-for-an-eye?” I condemn tribalism. But I detest trolls. Values are promoted by what we do, not what we wrote down in our vision/mission statement. |
coldcandy:OMG! #entertainingdistractions Nairaland Freedom Fighters!!! Always winning on Nairaland. Tbh! We are better than this! |
davodyguy:Just imagine the difference #2,000 brought to your project. Most of these stuffs are dirty cheap if leverage on the values gotten from this thread. _____ Cheap tiles can be made to look very good when the installation is ![]()

davodyguy:My guy is quoting 100+ for the particular one I posted and I was like “for wetin” 30 - 50k seems more like it. |
What’s the current price of this toilet? Thanks. cc: Rotecch77, Dfameguy11s

Dijita: ![]() The Poor Tribe Revolution I’ve learnt a lot in 2 days. Blood dey hot for naija! |
Long Post!!! The issue is not so much whether the OP did or said hurtful things to a tribe. It’s pretty much inevitable if we chose to leave things to continue the same way. It’s much about how we try to understand what triggered the reaction. Before I react in situation like this, I’d try to find perspective. I’m sure you’d agree the OP didn’t just jump into conclusion. He listed out some of his past experiences from different suppliers. Going out of his way to use the same people he’s complaining about shows he’s not tribalistic and he actually respect “your people.” You know how painful it is to be mocked for taking a decision against other people’s wish and still got betrayed. The closest thing to it is to be insulted over an offense you didn’t commit. E.g. “Nigerians are fantastically corrupt”, “Lazy Nigerian Youths...” etc The second thing I’d do is to acknowledge and voice the unspoken. For a man who just lost some thousands of naira (I remember you called it “just N130k”. Pls make una dash me o if you get am plenty o ), I think it’d be nice to show compassion and see how you can turn the silent worries of the aggrieved into an actual discussion that can have many potential benefits for him and your people and not to issue him an ultimatum. A lot of times you’ll realize that what you believed to be the truth wasn’t the whole picture when you have one-on-one discussion with an aggrieved person. The man just wanted his complete order which wasn’t coming from “your man” (the supplier). Everyone defending tribes here failed to address this. We simply dispel this as unimportant and felt appeasing the internet gods is. We are quick to crucify the aggrieved man for over-reacting and shield our own as if nothing happened. That’s unfair. Some few years ago, a woman (my tribe) gave a long list of the things her husband (another tribe) is doing wrong, how the in-laws have been so terrible and it almost turned into heated argument right at my place. I asked the wife “Do you want to be right or want to be married?” Then, there was silence in the house. If we truly want to avoid a reoccurrence in the future, I think it’s fair to talk to our people about how to manage customers and not shield them in the name of patriotism. For those using Brabus as an example, he was openly castigated by his people. They were not shielding him. In fact his closest friend testified against him in court but the truth eventually prevailed. He won! (even though that story didn’t make the headlineIf we continue to exhibit this type of character (pitching tribes against one another) every time something bad happen, it reveals insecurity disguised as patriotism. We can handle this maturely instead of launching deliberately offensive or provocative online post with the aim of upsetting other tribes or eliciting an angry response from thread users. It speaks volume about who we are and what we stand for. The truth is that the approach taken whether we admit it or not, has a meaning and a target. You are inherently saying, “This cause you’re pursuing is worthy of mockery.” I’m speaking as a matured Nigerian and not a Nairaland warrior. I love everyone! _____ @davodyguy Sir, When it comes to how we respond to betrayal and assaults, our tactics can and will always vary. It may involve anger, humor, love, tolerance, blocking, or maybe even some productive discussion. Nothing says you have to forgive your offender for hurting you especially when the behavior is a pattern. But sometimes a friendship is too important to let go. In this case, our co-existence as one big family ![]() I know you go still enter Idumagbo next month to buy some materials. Recognizing that you’re both human and that you’ve made mistakes too can be enough to help you move past it. I’d appreciate if you can pacify the aggrieved here. I dey ground dey type this message o baba I’m not issuing an order.Thank you sir! ______ Good morning all and have a great week ahead! |
