MRFIXER001: It will come down with time, as an engineer have come to realize that the price of building materials increases during the ending of the year. This is so because more people tends to build during that time, the demand placed on it is always high. Contact the nearest depot in your state, you will buy it at cheaper price. Like #2800/bag
He should tell them he got the order from MRFIXER001 right? If this works, I need the trick too o
Cement is produced right behind my house - just about 1km away - and we still buy #3,000

A lot of people do ask questions concerning changing a building already with an aluminium parapet to polystyrene parapet and we do tell them is possible. I will be sharing some pictures of a recent conversion recently done for a client from this forum.
Picture 01 and 02 are the initial building wit the aluminium parapet covering. Picture 03: The building with aluminum parapet removed from it. (Note: The removal was done by the client, we only advise the client's roofers( carpenter) on what to do and the distance that will be left for roof eaves Picture 04: The building after the aluminium covering was removed.

nnadychuks: Use window blind please. That traditional curtain causes heat and it takes too much space. Don’t paint the wall. Use self adhesive PE foam panels. It’s 2500 per square meter. I have here in Delta. I Waybill anywhere too

Thenext: I would like to give feedback on my transaction with mountmoriah regarding the woods i bought from him yesterday. I saw his post here on nairaland that he is into wood business, lo and behold his post came at the right time that i needed to make a final decision on who to supply me my decking woods. I contacted him via whatsapp and he responded within a seconds and we finalised the deal within 30 miunutes. I linked him with my Engr. for further discussions and both agreed to go on with supply within 5 minutes. Mountmoriah supplied my Engr with 1by12(600 pieces) and 2by3(300 pieces) the following day, the woods are very good and very complete. Mountmoriah has been one of the best supplier (if not best) in term of responds to customers and sticking to agreement. Please kindly patronize him for your wood supply
And he made our verified suppliers list! Congrats @mountmoriah
Stevo30: What is the type of foundation called? I have seen some pre-independence buildings with this type of foundation. Most building in the former 2 division army Barack in Agodi, Ibadan has this type of foundation. Infact children use to play under it. Why is it not favoured by builders now?
It’s not the builders job to determine the foundation type nor the owner’s decision. The decision is beyond both.
There's lot. May God give me the energy and the appetite to share something on this topic. I've done a lot of these type of roof including a recent one which has a roof top garden. The client saw the design in Madrid and asked me to replicate it so we use EPDM rubber membrane due to its excellent resistance to environmental factors.
uncleteeh: Well, I don't prefer this so called contemporary roofing styles, especially where there are parapet walls, our maintenance culture is so bitter in this country. Our climatic condition isn't very favourable for most building materials. Besides, I hate to see the structures I design looking pale after few years.
For example, try visit Dugbe in Ibadan, there's a particular structure there that is looking so bad due to the introduction of parapet walls.
Note: parapet walls are walls that extent beyond the roofing sheet.
Let's do this in the other room! kobocity.com
I'm for hidden flat roofs. It's such a big deal and it reveals the true creativity in an architect. Any jack can design pitched roofs, only creative minds can bring out the best in flat roofs.
