Roof Insulation? Yes! An airtight breathable membrane will be placed between the roofing sheet and the structure of this roof. This moisture resistant materials will serve a lot of purpose in this build. More discussion on Sound Insulation on NextHomeBuilds forum.

Chekitaut:Ok Sir. We'll definitely have a order to fulfill in not too distant future. Thanks, Brabus. |
@ vicol, Wood is to wrought iron mongery as Glass is to marble or stones. I'm using frameless glass balustrade for this build. Wooden flooring won't flow here. |
quoting vicol, (my response in quote box) Nice work, Please i intend doing something similar to what you have here. Kindly help with the following information; 1. What is the thickness of the plate, angle rod and the pipe? Please find below the information requested.2. Please can you post the drawing with dimensions if you are ok with that? I'll share later on this page. Check back here. I'll update this post shortly.3. Why not polish wood for the steps as in the picture? Thanks. I'd love polish woods but I have my reservations for chosing marble finish over woods in this particular build because of the design requirements. |

Chekitaut:Nice. What if I need more stone dust? 90 tons or more. |

twinskenny:Yes, you're right we should behave as Romans while in Rome. For a build that is owned by a diasporan who's in love in good gadgets and gears, having such a setup that support both won't be a bad idea except you'll be suggesting that the client should get completely new devices that support 220V. And for what reason? Shavers, Clippers, Computers, Game Gears, Mobile Printers etc are personal stuffs you may not need to be buying every time. So a system that supports what you're already used to won't be a bad idea. Me thinks ![]() Even if I live in Antartica and I'm building in Nigeria, I still wanna be able to use my 110V mobile printer without extra attachments. Likewise my business allies without having to go haywire looking for an adapter. That's why it is called "Home" in the first place. Simple things cut it for me. |
allCopacetic:I believe you understand what I'm implying by saying the 110V devices/gadgets will be useless if the setup is not properly planned. Been an electrical man, you won't see any biggie in having step down transformers in between your device and your mains but not for a novice like me. I dread that setup like hell cos of the kids. There are too many risk with the setup (mismatch, clumsiness, risk of electrical shock etc) even though many people are using it. So, a clearly marked socket is perfect for me. And a simple travel dual voltage converter in critical areas will do it for me. If possible, a step down transformer from the mains to clearly marked 110V sockets in each area of interest will do the magic for me like they do in the multinational companies. What do you think? Bros, there are so many stuffs I see around, and found very useful but choose not to get cos of the need for a step down converter. In my designs, I try as much as possible I eliminate possible point of failures. Clumsy wiring is one of those things I dread so much. I'll rather have a mix of the two voltage planned into my build than to keep buying a transformer every time I have a new 110V device. |
Demainman1:I remembered you asking me the "iru" question in open plan kitchen. Now, it's "Iyan" question ![]()

44chux: 44chux:Sure. Same way you can have some 110V gadgets that are useless cos you are on 220V. I have the hotel styled 110V/220V Twin Voltage shaver sockets by MK in my baths and couple of universal travel adapters for quick use in other areas (equipment room and the kitchen). I knew this was standard installation in Total FinalElf office in VI and many other multinational organizations.

Request Pls I need prices for various building materials in Port Harcourt. Cement, iron rods, Chippings, sand, woods, plumbing and electrical materials etc. Specific location: NTA road Pls send mail to <bosun@nexthomebuilders.com> Thank you. |
Demainman1:Your budget will be determined by the level of sacrifices. Budget +/- N2m - N2.5m for basic yet good finishes. |
Demainman1:Demainman1, for a twin 2 bed N1m is not going to get you anywhere but you can do it this way. Plaster the whole house and concentrate on finishing one unit. No frills or thrills like (tiles, POP, kitchen cabinets etc. Just simple and basic finish. I've suggested how to to do it sometimes ago here https://www.nairaland.com/2816304/need-low-budget-cost-building#41226818 Though, it was a 4 bed bungalow then. Well done! |
Following with keen interest. |
In relation to land measurements, the above divisions constitutes some fraction of an acre which means a plot can be 50 x 100ft / 15.2 x 30.5m – 463.6sqm (which means there are 8.7 plots of land measuring 463.6sqm in an acre) 60 x 120ft / 18.3 x 36.6m – 669.8sqm (which means there are 6 plots of land measuring 669.8sqm in an acre) 100 x 100ft / 30.5 x 30.5m 930.25sqm (which means there are 4.3 plots of land measuring 930.25sqm in an acre) Sizes of Plots Further Explained Here |
