Good job. |
Fire15:For the records. |
NaWetinDey:Word of wisdom |
garfield16:I get you. The question remains "If we believe there are saboteurs in the system, should we get Chinese to come and do the job for us?" We will still use our own people. So let's stop the blame game. Get to work. The govt already have the mandate and campaign season is over. |
garfield16:Bros, this is how I can explain it in a layman term. If you put a rookie in charge of an hospital, there's a tendency people will be sent to theatre for mere headache. Why because a rookie is in charge. Now, you can only complain about foul play if you put an expert (a round peg in a round hole) in charge and things go south. Have you ever taken your car to a rookie mechanic before for diagnosis and he told you you need to buy all the parts of the engine to fix a cold start. That's the situation we have in Nigeria. I can still remember when we have Barth Nnaji as a minister for power in Nigeria, I knew we were getting there until he was ousted. I hope you can still remember that man. Mind you I be Yoruba o! Bros, Buhari is a big error to the New Nigeria programme. We are taken aback. I'm sure you know it didn't take OBJ more than 500 days in govt under Ndukwe (minister) to issue econet the first GSM license in January 2001. That's the govt we left for this caricature govt. And this is coming from a president who's just coming from the prison. Buhari has always been a dullard even at the NEC meetings. So don't expect a miracle. And don't insult our intelligence by calling it sabotage. By who? Do you mean we should now bring people from China to run our country for us. Tell me one thing concrete that this government has done in 310 days. |
prophetfire:Let any sane Nigerian take me up on that subject and I'll make them see reasons why this govt is dead on arrival. I'm sure most people don't know that the major problem with Nigeria infrastructure are with the civil servant especially those in this ministries. Ministers can only act on information provided. He's not the technician and he's not trained as one or ever worked as a trained engineer. It'll take decades for a lawyer to learn the nitty-gritty of engineering. |
garfield16:We have a very big problem in Nigeria. Who's sabotaging the govt? Ask yourself this simple question? Is Nigeria a mere local govt that the govt of the day will put only one man in charge of power, works and infrastructure? A country of 180 million people. Isn't that approach a good recipe for failure? Did you think the Lagos superman can achieved the same feat in a state like Ekiti which is purely civil servant state. The IGR of Lagos state is almost 13% of the country's which is more than enough for any man to perform wonders coupled with the fact that the once Capital city has been well developed to attract investors. So the govt has a little to do. Worse still, the junketeering head of state is doubling as the minister of petroleum with all the attending challenges and issues. No who's sabotaging Nigeria. Be realistic for this once. |
modath:I think it should be that Nigerians are fortunate to see that this government is unprepared for the task ahead of them. And it's manifesting early enough for us to make the needed decisions. They've been playing the defensive all along. Anyway, let's digress. I'm actually more interested in the Dangote thingy. Tell more something I don't know. For the records, the logistics of running such a massive refinery hasn't commence. So don't rejoice. Try and visit the proposed refinery site and tell yourself the truth and not some conspiracy theories that can only work on paper. They're yet to finish land reclamation and no single building has been erected. Do you think the refinery workers will work from the space or everything will be built in a day. So don't rejoice yet. I know Dangote will rather prefer to sell to nations that have business friendly economic policies unlike clueless ones we've got. I'm sure you can see that the site was strategically positioned near the Atlantic. All other companies that tread that path are selling their stuffs to neighbouring African countries eg. MainOne, Glo submarine cables etc. @ Modath, baba don get a taste of Naija presidency for the 2nd time which I believe is a long age dream for him. I think it's fair to tell him the truth that we no feel am at all. Integrity or no integrity. Nothing seems to be working at the moment. We are only living on past glories. People are wiser this days. If you think otherwise, ask Jonathan. We are no longer going to be fooled by last minute rush. Bubu already got his chance. Let's see how he'll use it. Thanks. |
Dee60:How much time is required?
|
Everyday! Another story!
|
There's hope for Nigerians at the next bus stop. I'll rather have us start discussing the future of Nigeria and say no to all this same of same people running this country aground since the days of Lord Lugard. Enough is enough. No light. No fuel. No money! We are presently at 20% of the journey. May God give us the strength to finish well. It's just a pity!
|
EgunMogaji:Good job. With two 4" Drain, you're good.
|
@ EgunMogaji, have you poured your slab yet? I'm just thinking it would be nice if you can introduce a drain for rainwater runoff in the courtyard or better still leave out the drain-off points for proper installation at a later time. There are stylish linear types which will be a perfect solution for your courtyard. There's no prob if you leave out the space though. All the best. |
Are you scared of Omo Onile (illegitimate) land deals in Lagos state like me? Will you be interested in getting land from any of the Government New Town Development Land Schemes in Lagos? Then, know where those legitimate government lands are and who's in charge. http://nexthomedesigns.com/2016/03/30/lagos-government-schemes-know-your-scheme-officers/

Lagos building permit requirements and price depends on the scope of your project and the rate of each local government area where you want to build. In Nigeria, it can be cheaper if you know how to get the building permit yourself in stead of letting your contractor do that (the last is more likely to be asked for some grease money).
