michlins:The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten. I made a 27 foot galvanized tank tower for a client several years ago (2013 to be specific). All efforts to move the tank tower to my clients site proved abortive so we had to make another tank onsite for him. I left the tank tower on ground for 4 years and decided to install it in one my personal build in 2018. Guess what? The tank tower is still standing strong till date. _________ You can’t try this with all those cheap galvanized pipes that are currently in the market. I wish most people building today would pay more attention to the quality of materials used on their projects instead of price. |
Jasobry:Keep it simple. Good gates aren’t needlessly expensive, they’re just functional. |
Nice one. |
RobbStark:This cantilevered slab you mean?
|
sonnie10:Borehole get level though. I paid 550k in Ibadan around 2018 but the depth get as e be. |

New Toy from DEWALT | Chalk Line Reel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaKLY-q68DY There are several tools in construction sites, but there’s no tool quite as crucial and yet under-appreciated as a chalk line. I decided to pick this tool because our new and upcoming project call for a perfectly straight line over several meters.

PAPAFEELERS:I can only tell you that marine board is now N13,200/board. I got it 8,200 in March, 9,500 in April, 10,300 in May. Now, it’s over N13k I can’t give a definite price for other boards due to unstable market price. |
SouthSouth1914:Says who? I can share the video of controlled implosion of the partially collapsed BOI building, Marina under Fashola regime in Lagos. It was professionally handled on a Sunday morning. |
Greenarrow01:Yes. 16m Though we’ve worked on fence, started security house and sandfill the compound after my last update. I’d be happy to share the beautiful installation of the steel trusses for the roof and every other things in-between.

jabolo:My response: There’s limit to what a builder/contractor can do on a project (no matter how good the intentions are) especially when there are no documents or drawings guiding the proposal and the contract sum is fixed. I made a proposal to convert the crawlspace into utility space for other use but the idea didn’t fly. I did something similar on the project Seascape Villa, 2015 - a beach house designed and built by NextHome. The crawlspace was used to build a septic tank (Installation pics below) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jKLuyZ6UpA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg8olmxUjK0 Left as it was, it could end up being overgrown with weeds or plants, more likely a 'snakespace' lol.My response: Smiles. I agree with you completely on this but I believe the space can still be used for other ancillary building functions and fumigation/pest/weed control is also an option. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the rest of the build. If you can kindly share details when these are being marketed, if not already, some folks on here will keep an eye out.My response: This is a private project. I have an almost similar design brief for Lagos, Abuja and Ibadan by another client. I’d let you know once things get off ground. Thanks.
