Meldrick: My dear, wake up!!! You must have left Nigeria to the US in the 60's and you are not aware of the happenings. Iam hooked up to the internet from my own home with my personal laptop. I bought my laptop during the first three months I began working in my company.
I have an uncle in the US who is now a citizen. Some years back he sent some coats to two of my other uncles in Nigeria. He indeed was feeling like a yankee super star but my uncles here in Nigeria were just laughing at him because those were coats you will see in okrika at yaba in lagos. He inded thought life was as bad as the foreign media and people like you paint it. When he came to Nigeria to inspect the progress of his building, reality dawned on him because he saw that the people he was sending coats for wear good suits and were doing good jobs. He became startled (and let me use the word) flabbergasted when he realized they had gigantic structures in Lagos. They were doing good jobs.
As am writing now, he is thinking of relocating and my other uncles wanna fix him up with a good job here. My advise to you all out there who are posing with the labour of others is for you to come back home and enjoy the freedom of been in your country rather than complaining of money growing on trees. Men and women like Martin Luther, Rosa Parks struggled for blacks to have a decent life in US and today you are there posing. Why don't you come back home and be the Martin Luther of your country.
The only Nigerians respected in the US are those that have made impacts in their own home and affected the world at large not liabilities to the US who come to enjoy basic amenities meant for true Americans. my brother, help me tell her |

chiogo: Honeric, you just don't get it.
In Nigeria, you can work your ass off and still not be able to buy a laptop or even get a job to begin with. In America, if you don't have those things, it's not due to lack of opportunity but laziness to take advantage of the opportunity. simple! wrong! lots of folks can afford a laptop in nigeria even when i was there but they for some reason think that it is super cheap here and will can buy it easily as we buy breakfast |

@ topic
yeah, i get alot of those calls, i need a laptop, i usually reply, me too but the fact of the matter is some of us don't help the situation, they use credit cards to buy alot of things they will pay for, for the next one year and take those things home to show off, naturally those poor folks think money must grow on trees here |

Ebonyeyes: Duhhhhhhhhhhhh Re-read my post, I said the guys do yahoo and the girls sell sex because conditions are hard in the country . I sympathize with both parties who have to do those things though I dont condone both activities. unfortunately i was referring to ur general pattern of posting which is a crusade against men, so my point is why do u understand the girls prostituting conditions and u don't understand the condition of a cheating man, hypocrisy i tell ya! |

manak: thanks na2day,pls when u applied did u apply based on work experience or based on qualification?, and also how long does the interview actually last? they just look at the formed u filled and asked u questions based on what u write, so if u are working u write it there and i stay all day at the embassy for my interview, u might have a short day there than i did, the interview itself is not long depending on ur confidence and God's gracious mercy |

Ebonyeyes: Funny how you conveniently forgot to highlight the yahoo/kidnapping/marrying-for-papers business your gender is world-wide famous for. I dont condon it but I understand where they are coming from. but u don't understand where men are coming from? it is called hypocrisy |

Ujujoan: It is his respondibility in an indirect way! His wife is his first responsibility, her famil is secondary. He's not MANDATED to do that but if he can he should. If he refuses then he's just being wicked! welcome to the 21st century, there is no direct or indirect responsibility of any kind for a husband to pay his wife's family fees, medical bills or any shitz they have even if he is a billionaire in dollars and it is not wickedness, it is called "catching up to the ideals of the 21st century nigerian girl". if u want him to do so, marry an 18th century nigerian man and make sure u do not quote him ur 21st century rights as a woman |

aomom: yur rite but helping others is the key thing! see some1 mum died, at the burial they were like hu will like to say things that she remebers about her i tell you something nobody got up to say jack! that is beside the point, i am talking about the double standard NL girls have, it is ok for them to change their traditional role but when a man does the same they want to raise hell. the man need not pay a cent! |
