ralfudoh:In your initial post, you said 99% of Nigerians use fake documents. You also said it clearly that Nigerians are not honest. You get called out and try to now act all nice and start praising Nigerians? I will ignore your rants. Whatever makes you sleep well at night.
|
ralfudoh:I am actually searching for the truth in your post. I will address key points from your previous post. 1. Visa is not a right, It is a privilege I completely agree. So because visa is not a right does that mean the process should be unfair, inconsistent and inefficient? Do you see so much complaints in the UK student thread? Most people are complaining about the process not the outcome. If people are rejected and the process is fair, there will be little or no complaints. 10 different applicants will apply from different parts of Nigeria and they will all be refused for generic reasons. These 10 different applicants will pay and apply for GCMS notes and they all get similar generic statements. Does it not occur to you that there is something wrong with the process? To add salt to injury, applicants are even refused within 3 days. Are you saying they verified documents within 3 days? ![]() Is IRCC not paid processing fees? 2. Nigerians come to Canada and don't go to school and they use fake documents Another myth peddled around without facts. Austacus, Wheyme, Myself, Asapant, vestment all study in Ontario. There is a woman on this forum whose husband attends my school (moniker witheld). There are about 5 other people on this forum in my school (I cant remember their moniker). Lonelydude, graduated from University of Western Ontario last year and he has a fantastic job with a very good pay. We keep in touch on a regular. Sleeky is in Newfoundland, Bracha I think is in Brandon. There are a couple of other Nairalanders spread across different provinces all studying. All these people are Nairaland members I got to know on this forum. They moved to Canada from Nigeria and they are studying. I specifically mentioned Nairalanders so you know I am not telling you stories out of the blues. Did all these people use fake documents? Do you need me to tell you other people outside this forum who I know personally and they all moved from Nigeria to Canada and are still studying, some graduated, some are working and doing well in Canada? Because you all hear 2 or 3 students moved to Canada and did not go to school, bloggers post it and you all assume that is the norm with most Nigerian students. 5 Nigerians are doing yahoo, drugs, crime in Toronto. It makes headlines. What about the thousands of Nigerians doing exceptionally well? Do you use the same energy to celebrate Nigerians, definitely in the majority, that are doing well in Canada? The sad fact is negative news spread so fast and then people assume that is the norm. We don't celebrate Nigerians who are in school doing well. We are too focused speaking about the few people spoiling the country. 3. Nigerians struggle to get their fees paid when they are in Canada I can tell you for a fact that at least 80% of Nigerians that come into Canada go to school, pay their fees and complete their education. They may struggle, there may be challenges but they get the fees paid. Which International student does not struggle to pay their fees? I have paid a total of 33,000Cad, is that beans? My parents are not politicians, government workers or contractors. Indians struggle to pay their fees as well. Almost all nationals struggle. kini big deal. We struggle but we get it paid. IRCC only asked to show money for 1 year and by the way, who just leaves 33,000Cad in their account doing nothing? 4. Nigerians are not honest. We have dishonest people everywhere in the world. I mean no disrespect, If you have dishonest people as friends, please change your circle of friends. Dishonesty has nothing to do with Tribe, nationality or race. It is all about the person and his/her principles. I hope you have a good one. |
Meek127:(1) Getting a study permit inside Canada is not hard. All you need to do is pay the full 1st semester fees of your second program and have about 3,000Cad in your account and you are good to go. (2) Almost same documents you used when applying from outside Canada. I don't know what you mean by recommendation letter. (3) You are advised to apply early for your second study permit Inside Canada. You can apply as early as 90 days before the expiration of your current study permit. CIC also strongly recommends you apply at least 30 days before the end of current study permit. How early you should apply for a second program depends on how competitive the program is. My advise, apply as early as possible. This is May, some students already applied for winter 2021 ![]() (4) You are bringing money, why wont they accept you? Bro, they need you more than you need them. forget all this shakara wey dem dey do for students outside Canada. You can either apply to the same university or change schools. It is legal, acceptable and very common. (5) It depends on the program. If it has a coop, why not? (6) My second program is in a college. 8 months PGC. Although I got admission for a 16months masters, I did not follow through. 2 things I considered were cost and age. By the time I would be done with the Masters program, age may no longer be on my side towards getting a PR. |
Meek127:Hello sir. |
ralfudoh:as per the bolded, they are actually not nice things to say. I am not bringing this up for argument. You made your points and I respect them. I pray Canada starts the Nigeria student express route ASAP. This will probably limit the inconsistencies associated with the current study route process. All the best to all applicants. |
Pee2Jay9:To avoid derailing the thread, all the possible routes and other information you need is in the link below https://www.nairaland.com/5471101/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled |
librangyps:My opinion, you don't need the following Toefl, Gmat reports, waec (Your Letter of admission LOA is enough). If these documents were listed in your LOA, then you can include them but if they were not listed, totally not necessary. Cost of living estimate from school website: Not necessary. IRCC already know you need at least 10,000 Cad in your SOA. Siblings birth certificates is not necessary. You already listed them in the form and they are not your sponsors. |
Tstunt:I meant distinct documents. |
I noticed 3 applicants submitted almost 25 documents for an online application... wetin happen? That's way too much documents for an online application. You can do that for Paper application, not online. Do you know the reason why most of you are being refused is because the visa officers cannot even see and clearly read your documents because you have had to shrink and shrink those documents to fit? You all are submitting too much documents. I can't even understand why anyone needs to submit 25 documents for an online application. Please I beg you in God's name, for online applications, submit only few necessary documents. |
librangyps:The bolded, you cannot be refused because your program will be online. You can submit your application, get your visa and defer to next session if you do not want to be taught online. I think I mentioned it some days back on here, most schools are considering having fall classes online. |
SonofGod2000:The bolded, where do you people get all this information from? ![]() I do agree though that some people are making cool cash in Nigeria and have no reason to be in Canada or at best, they should relocate to Canada with a PR and not a study permit. |
Vakkai:Sternberg college does not offer PGWP eligible programs. I may be wrong but please ensure you double check. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/designated-learning-institutions-list.html#wb-auto-21 P.s If your plan is to study in Canada and come back immediately post graduation to turn Nigeria's health care to paradise, then you are good but if you plan to stay in Canada post graduation, please check that school again. All the best. |
mcobex:The bolded, bro you hit the nail on the head. However, IRCC needs to look thoroughly into the study visa process for International applicants. I know all countries have visa officers that make mistake but these Canadian Visa officers, the mistakes they make is on a whole new level. |
How love turns to hate This marriage of a thing, I don’t even know if I will ever be ready for it. God help me. |
Zika123:Are you in Canada? You can travel during school scheduled breaks. If you need to quickly travel to see your sick mum during school session, you need to get a letter from your program coordinator or international office. Just incase those officials at POE wants to act funny. |
Ujeinijobog:10 schools Honestly, If I were in your shoes, I will not because I have nothing in my account. However, including it will not harm your application if you choose to. Its solely your decision to make. You have fully funded scholarship and your mum will take care of living expenses. Make sure you include all other necessary documents and your application is good to go. I wish you all the best. |
dommakavelli:Welcome home, I love that ![]() lekiboboe, your question has been answered. |
Adetayoade1:Oh yes you need a USA tourist visa to travel to USA. You will apply for it. I had mine before I moved to Canada. |
Chimzy4real:You will understand better when you come in. Visa is for traveling in and outside Canada. Chimzy4real:Yeah, type of visa and being inside Canada is different. The most important document you need as a student inside Canada is your study permit. Once your study permit is valid, you have nothing to worry about. Your study permit must not expire before you either renew it or switch to another visa type, usually PGWP, while in Canada. |
Phatkayconcept:Don't be sorry for asking questions bro. That's all lies. Many international students travel back to their country once they are done with their program. On completion of your program, PGWP application takes 3 -4 months. So many students spend that time in their country to chill and then come back to Canada close to when their PGWP will be ready and it has no -ve effect on your PR. The most important thing is for your visa to be valid upon return to Canada. While having your programs, you are also allowed to travel. I travelled to USA last year and yes I will be in Nigeria towards the end of the year when it is very safe to travel. Lots of international students go to USA for summer/spring breaks. However, don't leave Canada to Nigeria while still a student except you have a very good reason. Those immigration officials at POE will ask you funny questions when returning. |
At the moment, I am in Canada and I don't even have a visa. I will apply for it anytime I want to visit Nigeria. |
BoBo83:Yes you actually don't need another visa to travel since you still have a valid visa to travel out of Nigeria to Canada. Your study permit will be issued to you at POE. The study permit you will be given will be for the entire duration of studies plus extra months. Just make sure your visitor visa does not expire before you travel out of Nigeria. The visa they give students outside Canada is simply to travel in and out of Canada. The study permit is the document that contains the actual work permit and it is the document that allows you to study in Canada. That study permit is only issued at POE and it is a separate document. It is not going to be on your passport. When you get to Canada, you can then extend your visa till the expiry date on your study permit. Just so you know, your visitor visa can expire in Canada but your study permit must not. Any time you want to leave Canada to any country (except USA) and your visa has expired, you simply just extend your visa and CIC will give you a new one till the expiry date on your study permit or passport. |
Ujeinijobog:(1) Your mom's SOA is more than enough. You should attach yours as well. (2) Yes include her CAC documents even though she has no tax returns. I did same when I applied. If you don't have it, you don't have it. Include scanned copies of her International passport, any travel stamps on the passport as well. Include birth certificate to show relationship as well. (3) Yes you can use scanned copies (4) My opinion, if it is land, it should be registered. That is what confirms full transfer of ownership to you. However, I do not know if IRCC actually confirms if it is registered or not. I think some people have actually used unregistered ones before and got approved. (5) Please attach your SOA as well. |
mcobex:Spot on bro. |
Adetayoade1:Hello sir, (1) Please don't stress yourself about address. The popular VI address is fine for SOP and reference letter. The Visa officer, Deputy High Commission of Canada, 4 Anifowose street, Victoria Island Lagos, Nigeria. (2) Can he give you an official letter to show proof of employment? Letter of introduction, employment letter to state duration, roles and responsibilities in the company and so forth? If he can, he may also state in his letter that he gave you xyz amount monthly. If you don't have a salary account that's fine. Attach your normal savings or current account plus your sponsor's to the application. There are numerous reference letters via google search. You can get sample headings from there and guidelines on content of such letter. |
Nkechi48:(1) If he can explain why he wants to sponsor you, you are good to go. Third party sponsors are accepted by cic. (2) You mean home ties? Yes a job is a good home tie if they can give you study leave letter. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. If you have properties, attach documents, if you don't, don't fret about it. If you don't have properties, your major focus should be convincing the VO you are a genuine student. Also, show proofs you are financially capable of supporting yourself while in Canada. This is where who your sponsor is and why he is sponsoring you comes into play. |
Wunaarroon69:There is a huge possibility that fall lectures might even be online. Some schools are deliberating on it. I honestly don't know how they can ensure physical distancing in Universities and Colleges. There is no real safety anywhere in the world until the vaccines are out. If you are allowed to travel this fall, I suggest you come to Canada. Agreed, online classes are just there when compared to normal classes but having 1 out of 4 or 5 semesters taught online is not too bad. Also, think of the upside of having online classes in Canada. Too many benefits. |
Nkechi48:You are not disturbing, please ask as many questions as possible. If I don't answer, my experienced bosses here will help out. The bolded, just contact the International office of the school via email, calls or apply directly on the school's website for the program of your choice that is still open. Most schools in Canada allow international students to apply directly for programs of their choice. I hope this helps. |
Nkechi48:(1) It depends on the College. I think some colleges accept NECO. Not really an issue. Please contact the International office of your preferred school for confirmation. (2) To the best of my Knowledge, both colleges are good. Any program that gives you the option of work placement/ Internship/ Coop is always a good one. There is always the possibility of being retained if you impress your bosses. p.s I think Cambrian college is 8 weeks placement for IGBC. Please double check. I actually prefer at least 4 months work placement but 2/3 months is not bad as well. Other things to note when choosing colleges are ease of securing jobs post graduation for students, location (which city is the campus located) and just incase, schools flexibility for tuition payment. All the best. |
Nkechi48:Oh that makes sense. Your dad is your sponsor, you are good to go. For the bolded, I already touched on that issue some months back. If you don't mind, click on my name and search through my posts. |
Adetayoade1:Good morning bro, If I understand your question clearly, there is no law that forbids one from changing sponsors. The most important thing is to convincingly explain to the VO why that person wants to sponsor you. |
Nkechi48:Yes it does. It is what most people on 1 year visa do. I finished my 1 year program last year August, took 4 months break in between that allowed me work full time, made some extra cash and then started my second program January and will be done by August this year. You are allowed to get 150 days break between the end of your first program and the start of a new one. Once you are done with both programs, you will get 3 years PGWP. But you need to know that you will apply for a fresh study permit again for the second program. You need to carefully consider this; who is your sponsor? Will your sponsor be willing to give you their financial documents the second time when you need to reapply inside Canada? Just so you know, the same documents you will use in getting 1 year visa from Nigeria right now is the same documents needed to get 2 years visa. So why not just get the 2 years from Nigeria right now? If I may ask, why are you so interested in going for a 1 year program? |
