Also if never made any sense to remove the subsidy before alternative were put in place.
Except of Tinubu wanted us to get used to sufferings of 600naira/Litre before rescuing/healing us with a little less cost(like 400naira/litre) from our refineries.

Politics / Re: Governor Obaseki's Convoy Trapped In A Flooded Road In Edo State (Pictures) by nairamaniac: 7:37am On Jul 24, 2023
kokorokoman:
hahaha, you know nothing Jons, the Stella Obasanjo Women and Children Hospital was constructed fully by edo state govt and was named after Stella Obasanjo because she is a daughter of the state.
The Benin bye pass was a collaborative effort between the Federal and state govts, go confirm from people that know about edo state.
From your previous posts I knew you do not know anything about edo state, you are among the bandwagons that started showing interest in politics because of the social media frenzy that came with the 2023 general elections.
These are just few of lucky igbinedions projects, I have a list of over 60 more.
Please list projects started and commissioned by obaseki in seven years and I will list yahaya bellos projects in just one year in office so you can compare them.
Anybody that sees you ranting on edo threads will think you know a thing about edo state.
Kids.
That I don't know if the Stella Obasanjo is federal or state doesn't indicate that "I know nothing". Morover my first statememt about that health care made it clear that Im not sure who built it.

But as per the bypass, that cuts across all entry highways into benin, I can tell you hundred percent that the Governor had no financial input into it. Stop lying.

That project was tooo big for Edo state or Lucky to make any financial contribution to.

That project was strictly aneni's push when he became minister of works 1999. I had known about the project before Lucky even became Governor. Cos humbly enough Iv been friends with both ini umoru's kids and anenih's, which isn't big a deal anyways.

I still insist that most of those projects you credited to Lucky were mediocre projects which didn't meet up to expectations when finally completed.

You should even be ashamed of some of these things you credited to Lucky.

That "Lucky increased subvention funds*
Yet it did not reflect commesurately with the infrastructure/welfare of AAU within the period.
Pls stop mentioning funds giving by politicians in lieu of subvention or whatever. That the easiest route to syphon money.
What you should be saying is how the funds finally reflected in the project.

The fruit juice factory u mentioned was a total failure, even before the expiration on Lucky's tenure.
Nothing was extracted from one single orange/agbalumo.

You mentioned *resuscitation of Bendel brewery*

Who hears you saying this would think Bendel brewery was was propelled to the level of Grand-drink Factory in Rivers state or Hero in Onitsha.

At this day and age you are still mentioning 27-CLASSROOM BLOCK as a Governors achievement?

You should be ashamed on behalf of Lucky.

You are talking about ECTS at Ramat park?
Oshiomole did more to that office and sector that Lucky ever did.
Dont even make my argument seem to want to be like a praise to obaseki, cos IV made it clear that they are useless in there own different ways.
But do you want to compare what lucky did with ECTS to what obaseki has done with Central park?

Lucky was a disaster. Even little/cheap projects ended up looking like elephant projects cos they were toooo big for him to handle; The ikpoba river dredging comes to mind. Spent billions trying to do God knows what with the river, under the bridge.

I still tell you, Lucky's 1st-3 physical legacies were:
1. Iyekoba housing estate(of which all occupants scattered all the buildings immediately they acquired them even from Lucky's tenure).
Also remembered that Lucky only tarred road from ADP junction and stopped at that estate.
That road was just a tiny single lane road. Untill Obaseki expanded its width and extended it from ADP to iririh, Ebo, okoromi, ogbazagbon, to sapele road.
This extension mind you is over 20KM.

U mentioned Edo house?
I want to believe you are not referring to the building on akpakpava? Near cbn.
But tell me it's not that building.
People hearing you would think it's one gigantic/profitable edifice.
Pls stop this praise singing of Lucky.

Lucky was the worst sooooo far of them all.

This is so funny, the same water storm project he said was a fraud and promised us he will probe the project but till today, no probe, the project yet to see the light of the day.
A govt that can't complete a water storm project in eight years, a project he met half way.
Make una dey shame na and you are telling me about six ponds.

How does it make sense to compare obaseki who has not built a block of classroom in seven years to lucky Igbinedion that built colleges of education.

You are comparing obaseki that decreased AAU subvention funds from over 200 million to less than 50 million to lucky that Increased monthly subvention to AAU from N4million (1999) to N100million (2007)

You are comparing obaseki that is yet to build a pure water factory to lucky Igbinedion that established Edo Fertiliser Blending Plant, Auchi, edo Chemical Plant, Ikpeshi. Cassavita Plant, Uromi. and the Fruit Juice Factory, Ehor. and the resuscitation of Bendel Brewery Ltd. And Bendel Cement Company, Okpella through technical partners. (Note, it was Chief Odigie Oyegun who sold Bendel Brewery to Churchgate. Lucky Igbinedion vowed to return the legacy to Edo State.)

Construction and commissioning of a two-storey 27-classroom block at the state-owned remedial education institution, Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), Benin City. Construction and commissioning of an auditorium/lecture theatre at the College of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi and the College of Education,Ekiadolor.

Lucky Igbinedion renovated and built four hostel blocks and the increase in monthly subvention from N3 million to N10 million for the College of Education, Ekiadolor without shutting down the school like obaseki did.

Lucky Igbinedion bought brand-new COMIL Volkswagen Buses and established the Edo City Transport Service (ECTS)
Construction of a modern corporate headquarters and garage for the ECTS at ramat Park. But obaseki came and gave agbero uniform without any form of input in the improvement of Edo transport system.

Lucky Igbinedion established the Stella Obasanjo Women and Children Hospital in Benin City dedicated to paediatric and gynecological cases as a referral institution with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Then also was the construction of a women maternity ward within the premises of Central Hospital, But obaseki came, has never built a single maternity but he shut down the renovated central hospital boasting he will probe the project only to later privatize it and hand it over to his friend from delta state.

The construction and commissioning of the Benin Byepass through a collaborative effort between the Federal Government and the Igbinedion Administration during lucky Igbinedion govt.

The construction of the Edo House, which till date yields revenues to the State was done by lucky Igbinedion.

Rural Electrification that covered nearly all rural Edo areas, including such out places like Somorika.

Establishment of Edo State Institute of Technology and Management, Usen.

These are few of lucky's project he never made noise about because of his govt lack of good PR.
Mind you lucky Igbinedion met a rotten state from the military that the preceding military adm was owing edo civil servants abiut 2 years salaries that lucky came to clear.

Obaseki is just a Grammer speaking dead wood, everyday "industrial clauses" and yet no single thing to show, mind you, withing just 6 months of obasekis first term he had already borrowed more than the total debt the three previous govt of lucky, osunbor and oshiomhole owed.

Make una continue deceiving una selves.
I don't know it alll. But some of these projects you credited to Lucky are false.

I always saw the Stella Obasanjo as a federal hospital done by Obasanjo.

Them the bypass you mentioned. That was completely a federal government project with aneni as Minister of Works at the time.

Imost of these other Lucky's projects u mentioned are shabby. As shabby as the buildings in Iyokogna housing estate.

Those facilities did not last anywhere. You may have been right on some of what you mentioned but definitely some here where between fiction, wash-wash and imaginations.

sentiments will lead you no where, it is impossible to compare obaseki to lucky igbinedion, lucky igbinedion is light years ahead of obaseki.
Sometimes I wonder if you guys are normal.
Obaseki is not just the worse governor in edo history but the worse in the history of Nigerian politics.
Where in your existence have you seen a governor campaigning with a renovated stadium and renovated state secretariat?
Since you were born have you ever seen a governor campaigning with a pedestrian bridge?
Comparing obaseki to chief lucky igbinedion is a big Insult to lucky igbinedion.
Obaseki ruined edo education system from tertiary to primary to the extent communities now employ teachers by themselves, students now take chairs to schools by themselves an example is uhunmora secondary school, army day secondary school in Benin city.
You said obaseki has done more quality of roads, you are a liar, what quality of road when the only few kilometers of road he did got washed away within few weeks, example is the ohovbe road he did at agbor Park.
A man that ruled a state for over one year without a single commissioner? Have you heard that in Nigeria before?
He has handed the state specialist hospital to his friend from delta state and poor edolites can't even access that hospital anymore.
He shut down tertiary Institutions for years in the name of renovation, shut down new buildings built by his predecessor at new Era girls school for just no effing reason.
This useless man has taken edo back to the 1990s Era again.
This same flooding issues would have been addressed if he had continued the oshiomhoke water storm project but he has refused to continue the project.
Upon all his borrowings nothing to show.
If you claim his better than lucky, list his projects he has started and completed in seven years and I will list lucky igbinedion projects let's compare them.

It's either you are blind or you can't read.

I said QUANTITY not QUALITY.

Or you soak tooooo much garri during these hard times.

Firstly I hate obaseki as a human being or a friend. He's a snitch and has emotional-insecurity issues.

Talking about storm water project, let me make it clear with u. Oshiomole didn't go further than connecting the drainages to the underground table-water and already-existing moats.

Obaseki has build more than 10 ponds.

He bought existing properties from owners to build those ponds.
1. Godwin omonowo(the who estate)
2. Erediauwa road(off sapele/off upper sakponba road.
3. Powerline, Abuja quarters (Near BUI)
4. Off airport road(Pass thru ogiesoba street)
5. Off central road(back of oba eware school)
6. Off rueben agho(behind greater tomorrow)

These are tooo mention a few.

He did a good job. But to me I score then below 50%. As he didnt protect the shores/edges/pavements of these ponds.

With time, erosion would wash out the edges of these ponds. He should have used either interlocking tiles or concrete floor to protect the edges.

But comparing oshiomoles work to obaseki in respect of storm water project would be very silly/naive of you.

Oshiomole did not direct any of those floods to any newly made facility.

Airport road was easy, cos he directed all the floods to ogba river.

He tried to do the same with all the floods going to 5junction-moat, but it was a failed ploject.

Very failed project.
Obaseki had to start afresh with that 5junction moat to consume the flood.

As for lucky: he is the worst both as A HUMAN BEING and as A GOVERNOR.
Lucky's biggest legacies should be.
1. Interlocking times on IGUN Street.
2. Lucky way(side of ramat park.
3. Iyekoba housing estate(which every current tenant have demolished the rubbish lucky built there).

Say no more my friend.

We are not saying we can stop her curioisity. But we can control the addiction to spending valuable time watching/streaming such things.
First of all the girl would need a long holidays indoors with no access to smart phones at all. That itself is a subtle rehabilitation.

She would realise that she can easily/quickly graps her school work when she's away from any possible access to porn sites.

When she sees her scores/performances in periods she's always from porn and compare to when she's addictively into it, she would mostly likely know what's good for her time/her brain.

This worked for me while growing up as a video game adddicts.

Trust me I had access to world-class game consoles and computers as a kid.
Hardly could any of my friends afford what I got.

But when my parents started giving me access to these things only during weekends and longvacs, it helped my concentration levels more.

It would be dificult at first.

But with time, you would adjust and find values in the encouragements your elderly ones(adults) are giving to you.

No, the matured minds wdnt tell her about the sex positions. But they would let her know that her body may be developed for sex. But her mind, responsibilities and fatalities that comes along with sex are alll above her age&pay-grade.
Also, one other reason some kids stay away from certain vices is making them know the value Of being CLASSY.

I personally never smoked or drank beers whole growing up cos I saw it as something for the drivers who drove me out in my parents cars to school or outings.

My parents made me see it as something kind of local. Which worked till I was even above 20years of age.
And when I started drinking much later, I never got to points of abusing it cos I had a very low regard for drunkards and chronic smokers while growing up.

As a parent, or adult you can actually make a teenager know the value of being CLASSY/CLEAN, which could transform into being Decent.

See samantha, there is one word that matters alot from AN ADULT to A TEEN/CHILD;
The WORD is TRUST.

When a Child has complete trust for the adult, the child would trust that process of maturing.
One good reason teengers sway more towards their peer group than adults that mean well is due to Lack of trust in the adult and whatever the adult actually wants them to later become.

A lot of her agemates mostly discuss about it because they're at a stage whereby they'll soon be transitioning to adulthood and they're curious to know more about sex.

And those movies and music videos would only make the teenager more curious about sex, hence she'll still go to those porn sites.

Only she can stop herself from doing it.

Samantha, an elderly one can help a teenager transform into a sexually active adult without pornography being in the entire transition.
See, partaking in sex without porn or masturbation is very very possible and more healthy to the mind and valuable use of time.

No one says she shouldnt be curious about sex.
But you can be curious and satisfy your curiousity by talking about it with more matured minds/elderly figures.

You can't prevent a teenager from having access to pornography in this era and no one can rehabilitate her until she decides that she wants to be rehabilitated.

And porn is everywhere nowadays, it's in music videos, movies, and telenovelas.

Especially your Nigerian Afrobeats, they praise sex too much... Even if the op tries to rehabilitate her, she may pretend that she's listening, only for her to go and watch it with her own data.

At the end of the day, only she can help herself by deciding when to stop.

Never say never or can't.
As long as she's still a teenager, the mind can be channeled into other tasks and aspects of Life.
Besides it's better to try than fold hands and give up before the race even starts.

What you see movies and music videos isn't as raw as porn from websites.
No comparisons.

I was just going through a phase and it soon passed... A lot of teenagers at that age are curious about sex and it's a normal thing.

So the op should just let his niece satisfy her curiosity and the whole will soon pass.

I can't remember the sections I used to visit because it's been a while.

You are sooo wrong here. For the fact that the phased just came and passed without damaging effects on you doesn't mean it would be the same for everyone else.

Perhaps if a guy or guys had enguaged you during the phase, it may have been a totally different story today.

Curiosity begets actions/practicals most times.
I personally feel OP should rehabilitate her in one way or another, albeit nicely without disgrace.
