Seconded but please study hard about it ,use genuine fluids and don't abuse it else you will cry like someone i know with an A160.Get an educated mechanic and not a kazeem.All the best and call me to come taste if the ride is in Lagos

I dont have that type of scanner and I dont a Merc Mech around all na Japanese things and beside the ob2 I want to use now was working well on my previous lexus Is ..

It will work for the purpose you want to use it for.

Thanks for this info, but a colleague of mine said he uses Visco 2000 in servicing his ride, pls how good is this oil considering what u recommended?

It's d red top engine and it's 2002

The engine never dies.Just change your fluids and fuel filter regularly.Get good synthetic oil,5w30 or 5w40 twice a year and you are good.Change fuel filter too when you service.You will enjoy the ride.

Synthetic oil is good and he should be particular about the viscosity

He can use total...I have never used total in my cars...this my second Benz...I drive c class now an ML and I don't and haven't used total....if it's good okay for him

I cant understand whats with Nigerians and counting age of cars.If a 20 year old car is in pristine condition so he should use palm oil in it?

Visit ladipo (Ojekunle), ask for prices of the parts. Especially those modules. And make your decision. Coming here won't help you, they will confuse you.

So he will be using price of parts to make choice? How many parts? You are the one confusing him.Coming here has already helped him.

My brother said the car mart close to his house has the 2003 c320 and the 2005 c240 4matic. Maybe I should pick the 2005 c240 then. Or should I just stick to the 2003 c320.
Why I mentioned my marital status is to let you know that I don't need the space in the e class for now.

Better to go for the 2003 C320 than the 2005 C240

The suspension and shafts of the 4matic are more expensive and the C240 is a lazy V6.

Hi, Mercedes Benz owners and specialists...
I got a 2010 c300.(w204)..vehicle was containerized and the auction site regarded it as 'run and drive'...even tho, a search on the Vin history showed 'engine damage(water)'. After getting the car outta the container, the tagged 'run and drive' vehicle refused to start. I had to have it towed to a mechanic's workshop. Now, the mechanic says it's best I change the engine..
I'd love to know how much the engine costs...both the full engine and the one without the alternator, kick starter, injector nozzles etc. i.e Borale. Thanks.

You need to have a second mechanic look at that car.You will waste money getting a new engine and gear.But the sad thing is if you are billed 40% of what it would cost you if you go get a new engine and gear you will not want to pay.

Also note that if its flood problem replacing engine and gear alone wont solve the problem.Sorry but in the past year i have seen 3 Mercedes like this get fixed without replacing engine or gear so am speaking from experience.Hala me only if car is in lagos lets have a second look at it.

It's always good to have the automatic compressor.
Just like many things in life it has its ups n downs.
The pros:
The automatic compressor cools better than the manual.
You dont need to introduce sensors,hangers or pay extra labour for electrician.
The cons:
You can't repair; once it gets faulty you will have to replace.
It doesn't tolerate any form of abuse....low quality gas can make it to park up.
It has a mind of it's own....it can decide when to engage or not

The manual on the other hand is more rugged...it can tolerate any form of abuse...it will engage even without gas in the system.

You can disassemble it,repair or change faulty parts inside.
The manual is cheaper.
Cons.
You will need to introduce sensors,switches e.t.c
You will pay extra for electrician.
You will have to bypass ECU to get it to work.


There you have it....the choice is now yours to make.

Doing 180km/h (speed limiter) weaving thru traffic or potholes without touching brake.
Doing over 100km/h around very hard turns without touching brake but skimming on your accelerator pedal while your tyre squeals.

I love taking on Japs at bends,as they are slowing down i am accelerating to 140km/h and at flat outs am gone.

Presently, I am considering any of C180, C200 or C220 2000 -2004 model.

Like Odubee told us that year (C200 kompressor Red top 2001 -2002).But that's like 18 to 20 year old now.But if you don't mind extra fuel cost just close eyes buy 2005 C320 and your life will never remain the same.

You didnt say anything about oil.A mercedes scanner is not for personal use and the one for personal use cant scan the gear.Pay for the scan and lets see the result.

Could anyone there help me out. I recently bought a MB C240 4matic, I was using it quite ok. I came to realize that sometimes the gear will stuck on the 3rd, without changing transmission. I have to switch it off completely, and on again before it works normally again. I took it to the mechanic which he recommend a flush out of the gearbox and a change of the filter and a new transmission oil, which I did. The problem still persist up till now. This is a car I bought and starting to love. And now this. Pls someone should help recommend what next to do. Thanks.

Did a little DIY though.

Bridged the hose with a smaller hose and clips to hold it in place.

Brake was back to normal and engine misfires disappeared.

I'll be replacing the hose unit tomorrow.
