It's a disgusting copy of what these desperate bloggers do.

And that's weird. Nairaland is one of the most visited sites in africa, with millions of unique page views monthly.

There's no need for such things.
Honestly.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: How I Lost A Job Because Of A Customised Facebook Name by NaLaugh: 2:18pm On Apr 06, 2016
Jadonjack:
I'm really not gonna bore you with how the whole interview went but it actually was going well until I was asked to give my facebook Id....

Considering how the hr was enjoying my response to his questions, I happily told him my facebook Id. Putting the name in the facebook search box, nothing of such was shown, he(hr) then said I shld spell it and I did that without a second thought(I never knew customising a facebook id is a job seeking crime). After spelling daniel omoniyi(not real name) as dhaniehl homohniyhi, the man said " I'm so sorry, we can't hire you".
I was so confused that I had to ask him why, and he said " your facebook id look unserious and fake, please use the door".

This is one of the little things we job seekers do not pay much attention to. If someone had opened that account for me, perhaps I will be looking for a way to kill the person now.

Still trying to get over losing a job over "just" a facebook Id.

Lesson learnt anywaiz.
I don't think the lesson has been learned.

People who intentionally spell words incorrectly to sound "cool," usually end up losing their ability to communicate effectively in business settings.
When I look around Nairaland, I notice Nigerians have become the kings of "shorthand" writing.

This wouldn't be too terrible if the "short version" was actually shorter than the correct version. In essence, people just spell as many words as possible in gibberish. e.g typing "anywaiz" instead of "anyways."

Regardless of how prolific you are, constant use of incorrect alternatives WILL affect you. I'm sure you have seen the effect firsthand.

You might think the HR person was being mean or petty, but in reality he made a good call.

However, don't let it get you down. We live and learn (if we are willing). Good luck. smiley

CelebritiesRe: ★ Yemi Alade’s “mama Africa” Album Tops Itunes Charts Worldwide by NaLaugh: 3:13pm On Mar 26, 2016
Good for her, she's doing well commercially.

Although, the use of "worldwide" in the thread title is inaccurate.
itunes has a category known as "World," which deals with traditional/folksy type music from outside the US.
It's not a "worldwide" category, as in all albums in the world (I'm sure you can tell from the other albums in the screenshots).

I'm not sure why they named that category that way, since it seems to cause this same ambiguity quite often.

Bluffly:
Excuses. Tell me why the boy is well clothed. There is nothing like beach case here. Is beach for females alone? If not then the boy should have been dressed beach like too.
What gains do I get in making "excuses" for them or anyone? undecided

All I've said are FACTS.

FACT 1 - This is a standard, normal, everyday, routine (need more synonyms?) outfit most females were around a water destination here.

FACT 2 - I'm speaking from firsthand observation and not "I hear say."

Now, whether you choose to label it decent or indecent is your prerogative, but that doesn't make it "abnormal" in this society.

If you walk down the street (assuming you're in Nigeria) and see a few girls in tight jeans, do you think twice about it? Most likely not.
However, if that happened in Saudi Arabia, it would be a different case, and their forums would probably tag it "graphic."

The point is, all societies are different, bro. It's really not that serious.
FamilyRe: Mother Of 2 Wears Bum Revealing Outfit In Public (photo) by NaLaugh:
Do you people even realize they're dressed for a water destination? (even the little girl's outfit indicates this). undecided

They're either walking to/from the beach, pool or a water park around the corner.

The beach is literally on my street, and every summer, people of all ages, shapes and sizes walk down the street with their kids, dressed this way.. EVERY day.

The US isn't Nigeria. Then again, even in Nigeria, I'm sure ladies wear bikinis at the beach and pools with their kids.
The "holier than thou" level in Nigeria is too damn high.
