PoliticsRe: South South And South East Are Brothers by NaMe4:
OredoPikin:
rigging tactics grin grin
oga river is PDP nd PDP is rivers
there is no other existing party there
APC is seen as a fulani party in the SS
even oshiomole as my gov despite the work he did in edo as gov, when it came to presidential election we all voted PDP both in 2015 and 2019

can u mention the year that wike have to so badly rigged election for PDP in rivers?
it was just an easy victory
S'Southerners have NEVER been vile, myopic or socio-politically desperate and NEVER will.
Our culture never promotes such also. Rather we are cultured to be accommodating, even to a fault.

Preference of candidates in 2015 and 2019 was based on capacity of the candidates, not party or tribe.

In the just concluded elections, 2 of the 3 senatorial zones in Edo State had individuals under the platform of the APC voted as Senators. Likewise multiple HOR members.

And in the forthcoming governorship election,
APC has individuals with verifiable records suitable for the position.

So, the notion - 'APC is seen as a Fulani party', definitely not in my State!

Shikini:
Oga, I am also from South South - Dad (Rivers), Mum (Akwa Ibom), Wify (Cross River).

Where in South South are you from?
You may even be Yoruba posing as South South

Being 'vile' for political expediency is not restricted to any zone:

Buhari called for blood blood and his team threatened everybody including our own GEJ.

Amaechi was very 'vile' to GEJ

Asari Dokubo nko?

What about Nyesom Wike ... vile to Amaechi, vile to traditional rulers, vile to leaders of his own party, vile to any opposing voice. Are Amaechi, Asari and Wike not from South South?

So, between GEJ and Buhari who performed better since you now say the 2015 elections was based on capacity?
Wike, Amaechi, GEJ or whoever having contrasting political views or interests has nothing to do with the statement I made.

I replied a fellow who stated ' the SS views APC as a Fulani party' and I gave examples of elected political office holders in my State and the good prospects under the same APC for the forthcoming governorship election.

Maybe in simpler terms: the South-Southerners are politically and culturally mature and do not myopically and senselessly throw away the baby with the bath water on account of some 'perceived hate' for a particular party or tribe.

ba7man:
Now this is the real Unity begging.

You can hardly find a South South individual making such statements claiming alliance with the southeast.

Rather, it's the southeast folks that hide behind south south names to try to deceive people of the non existing unity.
Fact!

PoliticsRe: Links Between Kalabari And Igbo 4 - Brief History Of Kalabari by NaMe4: 3:32am On Jul 07, 2023
Did the Kalabari begin to exist from the late 1800s?

What was the history of these people prior to this period and what key events took place during the previous centuries?

How come disagreements between Kalabari clans suddenly existed post 1800?

Why is the history of the Igbos and their 'relationship' with other ethnic groups in the Southern region always centered on the post-1800 periods?

Without any form of bias, search for these answers and understand the true history of these various ethnic groups. (Not lazy searches from sources such as Wikipedia where anyone can type nonsense and keep there).

Odibembem:
Exactly, my point. I have often asked some Biafran agitators to initiate Biafra referendum from their various houses of assembly in d SE but they refuse claiming that referendum must include all d states of the South South, they know that no state in d South South will ever agree to such rubbish, forget there are some fringe hallucinating youths who subscribe to IPOB among our people. The SE don't just associate with d SS and claim we don't exist for nothing, it's with an aim to overun and overwhelm us in d event if d unthinkable and it's sad few among us don't get d drift though I know many here claiming they are SS and are happy to be subjugated by SE are not really from SS. The SE has ambitions which it can never achieve without d SS cos she is landlocked without access to sea and she lacks d resources and landmass required for a successful nation state. But d SS is not stupid, we will not allow d SE to achieve their ambitions on our backs, we carried Nigeria for so long, we would never carry SE on our backs as replacement. We are a free people, we are not sons and daughters of a lesser god. We are not inferior to any region, God forbid. We have gotten d presidency, we will get it again before d SE if they don't change this their arrogant and covetous attitude.
There is no single person genuinely from any South-South indigenous tribe who would decide to be a bastard, shit on his heritage and support one confused biafra fantasy of some strangers.
Virtually all of these impersonators online are easy to identify.

PoliticsRe: Why Won't South East Leave South South Alone? by NaMe4: 9:05am On Jul 01, 2023
Odibembem:
U are wrong, SS and SE have never been one right from time. We in Midwest axis of Edo and Delta were with d Western Region till 1963, we were never with Eastern Region. CRivers, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa were only with Eastern Region when d Richards constitution divided Nigeria to regions in 1946, before then they were separate on their own. The SW after d creation of MidWest stopped making claims to MidWest, why is d SE still claiming SS? Intermarriage is not perculiar bw SS and SE, lots of intermarriage also bw SS and SW. If u want to be subsumed and subservient to d SE, that's your business but no true son of his father would allow his identity to be subsumed by another no matter how small maybe. In Delta d Itsekiris are very small in population but they would never subsume themselves under Urhobos or Ijaws or Yorubas who are close to them. Learn to stand and maintain your identity. There are Fulanis in NC and NE but u never hear NW claiming that NC and NE does not exist. It is sacrilege for a Berom man from Plateau or Tivi man from Benue to claim that cos they were all once in Northern Region, that they are same with NW and that NW should come and subsume their identity. Sacrilege!

“HURIWA is giving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu 72 working hours to order the arrest and investigation of Asari Dokubo over his suspected link to the violent phenomenon of unknown gunmen in the South-East or HURIWA will call our her members for a protest in Abuja next week over it.
Is Asari Dokubo the one enforcing sit-at-home?

With the forceful 'house arrest' imposed on residents in the South-East, HURIWA suppose don 'shut down' Nigeria with protests.
PoliticsRe: How Awolowo Opposed The Creation Of The Midwestern Region in 1963. by NaMe4:
Constant repetition of 'Benin province and Delta Province', when there was nothing like 'Delta province' in the first place. It was only Benin Province with Divisions eg Asaba Division.

Expectedly, there would be some resistance to the creation of a new State (MidWestern State) from an entity (Western Region).

Today, two States have been created from the Midwestern State, with peaceful coexistence and mutual respect between the States and with their brothers from the former Western region which is most important for growth and development.

Despite existing agitations for Oduduwa Republic, I've never heard of any aspiration for land grabbing the 'Midwestern State'.

These are some relatively recent documented evidence of smelting 'technology':

Interesting. Seems we're all linked together somehow.
Anyway the Olukumis in Delta/SE too were originally Yorubas. Olukumi means my friend in Yoruba. They're referred to as Lucumis in South America..Colombia, Cuba etc Those sold into slavery I believe.
How do you think they got to South America?
Through Slave Trade.

Are they Yorubas? Yes.

Why were they in the same location with some Igbos, Igalas, etc in a geographical area now called Anioma in Delta State?
Because in the period between the 12th Century to 18th Century, those areas had camps where slaves from various locations were assembled over time before being shipped in batches to the Americas.

But some cunning persons will attempt to turn history on its head.

That's why you have people from these areas in Delta State who know their origin and heritage and will always state they are not Igbos, despite constant attempts to bully them.

These are just pure facts even though it may hurt some. But we have a lot of insincere folks.

PoliticsRe: An Igboman Was Once An Oba In Benin Kingdom(how True Is That) by NaMe4:
OfoIgbo:
That is my point... Remember that I had already written that the Oba title originated in Nri, and it is still born today. People in Enugwu-ukwu must have heard of the late Oba Nwandu. In fact, a cousin of the current Eze Nri is known as Oba Agbalanze (Prince Emeka Onyesoh). The title has been in Igboland (Umu-Nri clan to be exact) 100s of years before the first Oba of Nri ancestry was installed in Benin, and the current nomenclature's OBA IWEKA.
Put simply, it was the Nris that introduced the oba title to Benin, by installing an Nri titled man as the first Oba. Now Iweka means ANGER IS GREAT presumably in the land that he was installed as the don.

Akalaka is reputed to be a Benin prince that established Ikwerre, Ekpeye. Akalaka means DESTINY in Igbo.

Ezechima is reputed to be a Benin prince that established Onitsha. So how come these Benin princes all seem to have Igbo names? Because the first oba was an Nri man and his early descendants were Igbo, and Igbo was the language spoken at the Oba's palace to start with.

Add all these to the findings of early Portuguese explorers, most probably led by Prince Henry the navigator, in which they saw Nri people in the Oba's palace, and a picture begins to develop
ABSOLUTE TRASH!

PoliticsRe: Asari Dokubo: If Not For British, I’ll Still Be Selling Igbos Like My Father Did by NaMe4: 8:07am On Jun 21, 2023
Ogene001:
Benin kingdom = Benin city
This is different from Benin Empire which included other Edoid tribes, yorubas, igbos
Very False.

Bini, Benin, etc were all coined words by the Portuguese.

More accurately and historically, they were the Edos (Arrioba Edos), and the Kingdom -Igodomigodo. All the same people.

Benin City, the present capital of Edo State was the Center of the Benin Kingdom where the Oba's Palace was located and still is located. Today, due to creation of States eg Delta State, it is now located in Edo South.

The geographical area we call Benin City today was the capital of the ancient Benin Kingdom.
PoliticsRe: Asari Dokubo: If Not For British, I’ll Still Be Selling Igbos Like My Father Did by NaMe4:
Ogene001:
Benin sold yoruba slaves in staggering numbers. Owo was a mighty kingdom probably larger than Benin. But Oba Esigie defeated them after surrendering himself as a Portuguese stooge. He packed people from Owo like sand an sold to Portuguese who carried them off to plantions in Brazil. It was that period that Onitsha people fled towards the East and founded many towns in Delta State before crossing the Niger
Onitsha people from where? Owo?

Of course, Owo town was not bigger than the Benin Kingdom.
Many of you mistake present-day Benin City (capital of Edo State) for Benin Kingdom.
PoliticsRe: Asari Dokubo: If Not For British, I’ll Still Be Selling Igbos Like My Father Did by NaMe4:
Truth may be bitter.

One of the reasons history was removed from our educational institutions. Unfounded sentiments, but history remains fact.

That's why the Yoruba as a collective people remain a respected tribe, able to find restitution as a people, embrace their history and today, are a formidable people to reckon with.

Ogene001:
Yoruba that was defeated by Benin, Dahomey and Fulani? Na fake propaganda una de use whitewash unaself. Ijaw never ventured into Igbo hinterlands. They only took advantage of their coastal region to become slave Marchant and they sold all tribes coming from the interior through the Niger
Exactly my point!
But an average Yoruba man today cannot be taunted by his history. Rather, they embrace it. Today, they are well celebrated and recognized in places as far as Brazil.

But for the Igbos, a lot seem not to know about their history, rather a lot of misinformation have been passed down from one generation to the next. That's why many would be perplexed by what Asari stated which were facts!

AntiMarxist:
That's true

But unlike in your case, the slave trade in Lagos depended on war captives during the Yoruba civil war and that against the Muslim north.

Many northerners were also exported for sale but unlike what transpired in your dead end corner, there was no pretext for war. An Okoro going to the farm will be hijacked and sold by his own fellow brothers . Some were framed for crimes they never committed and sent to the long JuJu shrine from where they will be made to walk through the cave only to appear at the other end to meet a canoe convoy of Jewish slavers from where they will be transported via the Ebonyi river down to Calabar or Bonny.

You do know Ebonyi river was named after Ebony .

Ebony being black wood in Latin in what can best be described as how your Jewish slave masters saw their cargo - like stacks of blackwood in the hulls of their slave ships.

Pity.
All these events are pivotal parts of history which unfortunately, have been hidden from many generations through fables & fairytales passed from one generation to the next.

And this ignorance has been a root cause of the friction the Igbos have always had with other groups in Southern Nigeria , notably around the coastal areas (known as the slave coast during that era) where slave camps were situated. With the abolishment of slave trade in the 1800s, these camps were recognised as communities, allowed to integrate with pre-existing communities.
