How can one individual write that crap and claim to representing all yorubas from around the globe? You go siddon for another man land dey wait make time pass make you claim citizenship and you can still shamelessly spew absolute junk calling your fellow Countrymen 'foreigners' in their own Country? I believe many of the Igbos were given birth to in the West, including Lagos, so you aspiring to be awarded citizenship in other continents have no basis to refer to these people as foreigners in their own Country. Secondly, no matter the negative experience we must have had with Igbos at one point or another in the past, we MUST do the RIGHT thing NOW which includes condemning any sort of threat to freedom against any group of people. Besides, the writer managed to rightly point out that there will definitely the many individuals from this same group who live peacefully and contribute to development; then why persecute the WHOLE tribe? |
Had a similar idea. I'm in full support. mikolo80:Good proposition there. |
A thinking and very wise individual @ OP Jwonder4eva:What I and many other Nigerians wish for is a Country where as you stated, individuals from one part can live peacefully and prosper in any other part of his Country. Despite the fact that I will not support any hateful comment or agenda against any individual or group of people, I think we have to look at this issue through unbiased lenses. First, it is actually a fact that while non-igbos find it extremely difficult to thrive within Igbo regions, better conditions are encouraged for Igbos to prosper when they venture into other regions. I think you have to look at the truths in this statement. I think you should appreciate this fact when you take into account the Igbos you find occupying key positions in the governance of many States. In fact, even on this forum, when certain individuals mention 'Igbo States' they now include Rivers and Delta which we know Igbos only migrated to in the past. I believe this is one of the reasons why the unfortunate hate-influenced speech by the Oba is supported by many. The yorubas wouldn't want their cultural heritage to be subdued and eventually Lagos would be termed one of the 'Igbos States' rather than a free Nigerian State. Recall, that did not stop them from supporting an 'Igbo man' to contest and win a seat in the national assembly. We all know at least for now that an Ijaw, urhobo or yoruba man would not be allowed such privilege in any Igbo State. For a prosperous union the relationship has to be symbiotic. Besides a New york man would not go to California and intend to make it ' New York Annex', while making life difficult for the Californian in New York! |
I doubt if it's the same person. They just have similar neck tattoos. Look at the tattoos closely and the different angles in which the tattoos incline on both necks. |
astana1:Oga, e Don do. No go burst an artery. Leave Igbo pipu matter Abeg! Since yesterday, haba! |
Igbo own don finish o! Na wa! |
OsunOriginal:So are the Igbos supposed to be scared now? E be lyk say Igbos plenty for that Lagos well well and their votes fit cause havoc lol. But why the perception that ALL the Igbos in Lagos will vote for Jim Agbaje? |
kropotkin2:Bro, El Rufai will still garner enough votes from S/Kaduna. mubarak23:E go hard! Just recall the presidential poll, then project. You can only imagine what the gubernatorial poll would look like. |
![]() I don't think anyone would have difficulty knowing who the governor would be in the next four years. El Rufai |
raumdeuter:Bro, observers from outside would see flaws, point them out to you in order to make improvements. Not everyone who points out facts on this thread has anything to do with Lagos. And certainly, not everyone who expresses his/her disappointment here is Igbo. If true, What that oba uttered was just despicable! No matter how much he wishes to nurture personal hate against a group of people, as a privileged public figure, he has no right to incite such in those who care to revere his traditional title. |
Khalessi:Bro. What these groups gain from their mutual hate still eludes me. It doesn't add one naira to their pockets, doesn't better their lives! Most still in poverty and penury and the worst part part, they keep disturbing the peace of other Nigerians like they are the only ones in this Country. I thought the foolishness was restricted to kids online, but it seems they learnt well from older folks. I don't want to believe a traditional leader said that cos even a sane 10 year old will not utter such. |
Live on AIT |
Funny! That one go mean say make e begin dey prepare congratulatory message for d next opposition. Believe it, Nigeria has changed! Well-meaning Nigerians who are on a steady increase would condemn sectional governance without thinking twice. #NeverAgain |
Good. Meeeehhn I dey feel this change already! |
Day11:Cool down. We cannot take that from him. We'll definitely give honour to whom honour is due. |
I wonder if he would be accepted into the APC if he intends to join the party. Would it be wise? |
Please we would like to see a considerable number of new names in this new administration. Not a new round of recycling the old peeps in a new party. Anyway, I'm trusting GMB to deliver and call on well-meaning Nigerians to put their hands on deck. |
Congrats Everyone |
Orubebe? ![]() Ok! That agent of the opposition party? |
This one go mark people scripts, sign certificate! Smh |
His name just came in. . . Prof Orubebe! |
Baba don siddon for ground o Hope things won't get messy |
See yawa o! |
@ OP I would have expected 'Congratulations to ALL Nigerians'. As whatever affects one Nigerian affects ALL Nigerians. GOD bless Nigeria! |
Though majority of Nigerians yearn for a better leadership irrespective of who wins this election, it would be better to wait for the final declaration of the winner. Until then, I still leave my # open. |
Listen o Returned from recess |
Waiting |
suwailad: . |
SomebodyLovesMe:But you should also remember that it was not a case of SS putting a candidate forward. He was selected as the running mate to his predecessor and had to take the mantle following his boss's demise; which was constitutional. So I don't believe there should be difficulty in any section of the Country bringing a qualified candidate forward in the future. I believe it should based on other attributes than region. |
O boy, election don finish o! |
Warms? Na wit slapp? |
Just my thinking... elections may still hold tomorrow o! so we should shift the public holiday to Tuesday |
