PoliticsRe: APC Mega Presidential Rally Kaduna State Live! by NaMe4: 6:13pm On Jan 19, 2015
There's obviously no chance for PDP, at least in Kd.

Without sentiments, the performance at the State level has been woeful.

It's crazy in Kd right now. Lots of youth on the streets sweeping cars with brooms, performing stunts with bikes and cars, awaiting the arrival of GMB

RomanceRe: Ladies, The Terms Tall Dark And Handsome Originally Referred To White Males by NaMe4: 3:16pm On Oct 29, 2014
tpia6:
In africa where almost everyone is one shade of dark or another, its silly to keep parroting tall dark and handsome when referring to a black man.

Please refer to your cultural standards of beauty in this regard.

Traditionally, tall is not one of them, neither is dark and neither is handsome ( unless you are a nilotic).

Let us not be more european than the whites plz.
grin grin grin

I have always laughed whenever such statements were made in our own clime.
The idea of tall, dark and handsome conceived in the west (by caucasians), originally referred to white men with a dark shade to their complexion. Eg George Clooney, Sean Connery.

But trust black man! E go copy pass the original sef!

Even African mixed-race individuals are referred to as dark by default!

Without Sabotage, Corruption and Moles in Nigerian Military, Bokoharam would fizzle out in just a month.

We all know this

But Would the Junior Soilders also suffer for Carrying out the Instructions from Thier Leader? hmmmmmm
I wonder if it would have been termed mutiny if the junior soldiers had ignored the order from the colonel.
PoliticsRe: Alex Badeh On The Emotional Outburst That Trailed The Condemned Soldiers' Fate. by NaMe4: 7:39am On Oct 10, 2014
My brother, most of those being sentenced were those who reacted when 'moles' gave out their colleagues to the insurgents.

The 'order' which the court martial intends to maintain is that in which the common man would be prevented from speaking out despite fully bearing the effects of the 'big man's' negative activities, which is a general occurrence in the Nigerian society.

AfricanApple:
there are lotta girls out there who would love to spend on their bf, but they know if they do, u guys will begin to look down on them and will think they want to track u down with d spendings. as I small reach like dis I know wetin I don do for guys, not bragging thou
Even if their bf spends crazy on them?

I'm not saying she must reciprocate, but the thoughtfulness in doing little things which would involve spending would go a long way in defining the sort of individual the lady is.

Though, if she doesn't have what to spend, that would be different.

Thanks op. I was perplexed when I saw that headline a day ago.

It's virtually impossible for Camerounian army to invade Nigerian territory up to Konduga town. Konduga is next to the State capital after Dalori.
RomanceRe: Why Nigerian Ladies Should Never Settle For Less by NaMe4: 4:41pm On Sep 21, 2014
Kachisbarbie: The lady never said we should settle for less - I guess y'all misunderstood her...she meant, we shouldn't be blinded by physical looks, sometimes marriage goes beyond the physique...just marry someone you wanna wake up to everyday (and vice-versa)...that's just it
-Never settle for less - always settle for the best, but then we can't satisfactorily define less/best...no single human out there is less

...and please this cliché of 'ladies being in loveless marriages' as a point is fast becoming boring/stereotyped.

I think the problem we have these days arises from poor comprehension...the lady used words like- Obsessed, Most...she wasn't in anyway speaking in an affirmative, even though her points came out harsh...It's all about choice - If you wanna wait for yo Lamar - Voila...don't forget that Lamar has his own 'required requirements' - I hope you meet them too.
That your 'Lamar' might be some other ladys' 'Kevin Hart'

... why is there so much pressure/focus on the female folks and their choices in life?...I just don't gerrit
-they say 'marriage' is overhyped, yet it is one topic that gets so much attention...let it slide pls

P.S : The fact that you called her post 'stupeed' is unprofessional and...I don't know what else to call it... undecided...we can't all be of the same school of thought - respect her own reasoning.
-If you have to counter her, go back to her post, read/understand it properly...then counter her.

how exactly, would you come online and call someones' husband a PLAN-B (What's even wrong in a PLAN-B, What's a Plan without PLAN-B?...nne sometimes PLAN-B done sure pass @ one pt in our lives), and an available that became desirable??
Jeez...I know this is a forum, but before you 'submit'...take a moment to review your choice of words...Thanks
Just Brilliant!
Car TalkRe: Help My 04 Maxima Keeps Burning My Coil by NaMe4: 12:44pm On Sep 17, 2014
Out of six coils in a nissan murano, only one coil burns out almost immediately it is fixed (no. 6). All others are perfectly okay. Help!

Did a scan and got the following codes:

P1800 VIAS S/V CIRC
P0335 CKP-SEN/CIRC

Although going to the electrician to check the negative terminal.

But could the burning of a single coil still be from the brainbox?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Over-hyping Of First Class Honours In Nigeria by NaMe4:
Seun: That's either the stupidest thing I've ever heard or a lie. Graduating with a first class is a strong advantage that employers value. You say you have not been able to get a quality job, but has it not occurred to you that you may have gotten one if you finished with 1st class?
Making 1st class in University is a personal choice. One may choose to relax or get involved in other activities apart from academics with the aim of still getting very good grades.

Besides, first class would not make up for experience or determine the need for further academic pursuits OR in a country like Nigeria, guarantee a government job based on merit.

For multinational and private firms and establishments, yes. But there is a limit to the number those can take in.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Over-hyping Of First Class Honours In Nigeria by NaMe4: 9:05pm On Sep 01, 2014
Gorimakpa: My dear you are still in a relatively good situation. You have been in the labour market for only three months, which I do not consider long enough to provoke angst or despondency......

As incredible as it sounds, I intentionally did not make 1st Class because I already knew the implications in a country like Nigeria. It puts too much pressure on you and makes it more humiliating when things don't go your way after graduation. I easily made a 'strong 2.1' even with more than enough social life and extra-curricular activities. In spite of my 2.1, I have not been able to secure the sort of job I have always wanted, and I do not think it would have been any different if I made a 1st Class; probably would have been more humiliating and difficult to bear. Countless times I've done well in aptitude tests and interviews, only to later find out that some barely-literate dolts (with due respect) who can hardly string a decent sentence in English got the jobs through their connections and other back-door means. Sometimes when you interact with the characters that get employed in these great establishments (NCC, NNPC, NERC, Nigerian Breweries, etc), feelings of humiliation and sadness overwhelm you because you know that under normal and fair conditions, they are no match for you.

I happen to have a high standard in terms of employment, with a preference for government MDAs or multinational companies. All the small one-man company jobs or bank/marketing jobs that I have come across are just not my kind of thing, so for some time now I have opted for self-employment - earning a decent living by providing niche services with my own knowledge and skills. The income is not bad at all; certainly better than most of these small companies and even banks can pay entry level employees, with plenty freedom and flexibility for that matter. Sometimes I earn up to N100k for a week's work; other times I earn much less or nothing at all during dry spells, but it's all good. I am still looking out for my dream jobs - especially federal government jobs. Unfortunately, class of degree or even competence are rarely considered for these kinds of jobs. You can be a dullard with a pass degree for all they care, as long as you can get one senator or traditional ruler to intervene on your behalf, you will get the job. It's really sad, but there has to be a way somehow, one day.
Simple truth! Applicable to every sector in the Country run by government and sadly even involves the medical/healthcare sector of all places.
HealthRe: Should The Title Dr. Remain Exclusive 4 Physicians In Dis Era Of Modern Medicine by NaMe4: 8:57pm On Aug 25, 2014
Theodarl: I don't hv to tell u that the sky is blue on a sunny day. I hv not mentioned anything about my profession. Y would u assume I am a health worker? U hv just reacted like a regular physician. Maybe u r one. I think u should consult ur dictionary if u don't know the difference btw nomenclature n title. Dr is a title not a nomenclature. Other health proffesionals r addressed with the regular title Mr. If u r open minded and not biased u would agree that these other health proffessionals should be addressed as Dr not Mr because Dr according to English oxford dictionary is a person licenced to practise medicine. Eg. Nursing is medicine. It is a branch of modern medicine. A nurse that has graduated from the university n registered with the nursing council is licensed to practice nursing. In otherwords licensed to practise medicine in the field of nursing. Therefore should be addressed with the title Dr. The same goes for other health workers in other areas of medicine.
So when you NURSE your wards or family member undergoing treatment at home under the physician's prescription, you have invariably practised medicine and IN OTHER WORDS, you could be referred to as a doctor!

I think I get it!

PS: I did not mention anything about your profession.
HealthRe: Should The Title Dr. Remain Exclusive 4 Physicians In Dis Era Of Modern Medicine by NaMe4: 5:51pm On Aug 25, 2014
Theodarl: The title Dr. Is well respected and very popular. The professional nomenclature for the medical doctors is physician. Every other health professional also has a professional nomenclature. Point is they can also b called Dr because they r also licensed to practise medicine.

To unrderstand what modern medicine is, pls open the link in the article above.
So from your explanation, a nurse is actually a doctor and this has been established in a few climes. Okay!
HealthRe: NMA suspends strike.....Live Update Of NMA Emergency Delegate Meeting At Abuja. by NaMe4: 1:04pm On Aug 25, 2014
Really, I'm just learning that MOST Nigerian doctors went through the university tuition-free. Maybe it depends on the part of the Country or maybe certain States. I am a practising medical doctor and I recall at least 40% of my class were not sponsored by any government. From the beginning of my education till graduation, government has had nothing to do with sponsoring my education, and that has been samefor a large number of mycolleagues.
So the argument about government sponsoring virtually all doctors holds no water as far as I am concerned.

Just a clarification though!

HealthRe: Lagos Rejects Ebola Trial Drug, Nano Silver by NaMe4:
All we can do is wait for Amaerica's ZMapp with questionable effectiveness?

I don't want to believe Nigerian medical experts have not suggested different ways of managing this disease.
We are a people in serious trouble allowing dense people run affairs for us.
Check the websites of the so-called research centers and ministry of health - redundant, no communication portals, not working!

What is difficult in inviting those who claim to have solutions to this problem to present them with sound scientific evidence and facts regarding the disease and how the drug/therapy would bring about desired effects?

Instead, everyone has sat down, open eye waiting for US to send Zmapp.
Make una dey wait!

So the so-called research labs cannot even carry out a test on a monkey? Abi another 'high-powered' committee to go purchase monkey is still in the developmenal stages?
