Maradona is 1million times better
A paraguan player said after they defeated argentina that maradona is not a coach. I know both are bad coaches , but I have a feeling that maradona is worse .

Reason being that unlike Amodu , maradona has top class players who are willing to give their all for their country. However they have failed because of maradona's poor technical ability.

Amodu on the other hand is techinically deficient but has an added burden of low- grade and unwilling players

Nigeria and Argentina are two countries that look likely to miss the next world cup. Analysts believe the problem of these teams lie largely on poor technical qualities of the coaching crew.

While Argentina has gathered just 6 points from a maximum 18, Amodu's SE though in the weakest group of the African zone have struggled in practically every match.

who do you think is better, AMODU or maradona?

The Ogoni's under the leadership of Saro-Wiwa fought the multinationals on two fronts: shutting down oil explorations in Ogoni land (this involved will involve some form of violence) and sensitising the international community of their plight(intellectual).

hmmmm, ghana has been a peaceful country for years, but recently the incidence of robbery is gaining popularity and most ghanian believe that nigerians are involved in this act, and the few ghanians that are also in the act are said to be lured into by it by nigerians.
If Ghanians are so fickle that they need Nigerians to lure them into armed robbery then that is their problem. But this excuse by Ghanians about nigeria being behind almost all crimes is not smart.

I used to visit Ghana and had to seek honest opinion of some Ghanaians, about crime and while they acknowledge that nigerians are involved, they also appreciate that much of the crimes are commited by Ghanians without any nigerian support.

The genesis of crime escalation in Ghana was when kUFFOUR suceeded Rawlings who was seemingly ruling Ghana with iron-fist even as a civilian. Ghananians appreciated the liberal disposition of KUFFOUR but later discovered ,they had not adequately prepared for the attendant lawlessness that accompany Kuffour's liberality. Hence crime was on the rise. Some Ghanians even state that their politicians are just marginally better than ours in terms of corruption.

Now that they have found oil , we will really see how they manage the greed the defines African leaders in the midst of state prosperity.

This will never happen. There is complete and utter opposition and anger in Ghana from all quarters against this move from what i am hearing.

Atta Mills must be out of his mind. Absolutely never. Why must we allow known criminal elements and destabilizers of economies into Ghana? Even america with their capacity to monitor individuals in their country will not allow a convicted criminal into their country.

Why can't they undergo rehabilitation in their own country? Are they being rehabilitated for Ghana life or for Nigerian life?

God Bless the journalist who brought this to the attention of the Ghanaian public. That Mills government should just wait. 2012 is just around the corner. we'll see who is boss then. nonsense.
This is the mess a man gets outside his home , when he fails to harness his resources and maximize the utility therefrom. Dude dont break a sweat, this will never happen. Yes , not because Ghanians object but because I believe the agitators are far smarter than what those in government think.

But I shed tears for this country because if we did the right things we know where we would be.

I see all these insults from Ghanians as a blessing in disguise. One of these days we will all look ourselves in the eye in this country and force development anyhow.

SportsSiasia Releases Final U-20 Squad; Udoh,christiantus,oseni,nkume Dropped by naso2(op): 5:42pm On Sep 10, 2009
Nigeria Under-20 coach Samson Siasia has  left out several key players from his squad for the FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in Egypt later this month.

The notable absences in the final 21-man squad include Spain-based defender Kingsley Udoh, who was the tower of strength when Nigeria won the Under-17 World Cup two years ago in Korea, Russia-based striker Ganiyu Oseni, as well as Karlsruhe forward Macauley Chrisantus, who is nursing an injury.

Siasia will instead be taking a chance on several players from the Nigerian domestic league like goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye, Kano Pillars midfielder Mohammed Shehu Shagari as well as the leading scorer for champions Bayelsa United this past season, Stanley Ohawuchi.

The full squad:

Goalkeepers: Ajiboye (Wikki Tourists), Uche Okafor (Kaduna United), Olateru Oladapo (unattached)

Defenders: Nwankwo Obiora (Real Murcia/Spain), Nurudeen Orelesi (unattached), Raheem Lawal, Ibok Edet (CD Athletico Baleares/Spain), Daniel Adejo (Reggiana/Italy)

Midfielders: Lukman Haruna (Monaco/France), Rabiu Ibrahim (Sporting Lisbon/Portugal), Yakubu Alfa (Helsingborgs/Sweden), Oluwashina Abe (Sunshine Stars), Mohammed Shehu Shagari (Kano Pillars)

Strikers: Daniel Uchechi (West Ham/England), King Osanga (Heartland), Kehinde Fatai (FC Farul Constanta/Romania), Sone Aluko (Aberdeen/Scotland), Odion Ighalo (Granada/Spain), Gbolahan Salami(Sunshine Stars), Stanley Ohawuchi (Bayelsa United), Harmony Ikande (AC Milan/Italy)

http://www.goal.com/en/news/89/africa/2009/09/10/1492028/nigeria-drop-key-stars-from-final-squad-for-fifa-under-20

While I respect sia1's disciplined approach, I think he should have considered Udoh Kingsley since the young man has been with the team and his inability to travel early with the team was due to NFF's ineptitude .

What do you think?
SportsRe: Okocha To Join Super Eagles Coaching Crew In Technical Capacity by naso2(m): 6:42pm On Sep 09, 2009
While it is very evident that we are in a very bad state, we must not loose sight of the fact that Tunisia might actually slip and we will still not be able to take advantage.

In CAN 2008 we were at the brink of not making the quarter finals and  were too engrossed with the likely accord match between CIV and MALI and saw  that as  the only problem. Some even went ahead to state confidently that ,since Drogba's wife was a malian Nigeria stood no chance.

When the match proper started CIV was already 2 goals up but Nigeria was still struggling to get a single goal against Benin. In the end a miracle happened , we defeated Benin and qualified.

We know the qualification is no more in our hands , but lets avoid a scenario where Tunisia will drop points and we still will not be able to take advantage.

No one gave the USA any chance in their last group match in the just concluded confederation  cup, but they did what they had to do against Egypt  and fortune smiled on them.

Lets sack Amodu and get someone that will at least guarantee the remaining 6 points. Anything can still happen.

I think this is the best thing I have heard since the sunday show of shame. Yes if they(mozambique) can backup their words with action then its good news for nigeria. why?

1. If they can come to nigeria and pull a good result , that will save Nigerians the agony of last day frenzy as we had against Angola.

2. But if they cannot get a good result in Nigeria, it will mean that their only hope of nations cup lie in their last match against Tunisia where they will at least give their best. I can not confidently say Tunisia will not beat them even at their backyard, but they(Tunisia) will work for their money unlike the case of RWANDA against ANGOLA which was simply prearranged.

Haggui said that he recognized that the Tunisian national team put in an impressive performance by showing the mental fortitude to come back from a goal down twice in the match, but preferred to focus on the future rather than gloat.

What we accomplished was a national duty. We owe a lot of things to our country and our people. It’s the national flag that we defend. Our team keeps improving from match to match. May the future be even better than this.”

Tunisia have a two point lead over Nigeria and still must face Kenya in Tunis before traveling to Maputo to face Mozambique in their last match.

Nigeria Coach Shuaibu Amodu Begs NFF For Another Chance
The embattled Nigeria coach has asked the NFF technical committee to give him another chance even though the country's World Cup hopes now hang in the balance after a home draw with Tunisia.
Under-pressure Nigeria coach, Shuaibu Amodu, has pleaded with the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to give him another chance to ensure Nigeria still qualify for next year's World Cup.
Goal.com has learned that Amodu met with the technical committee headed by Taiwo Ogunjobi on Monday morning during which he asked that he be given another chance to guide the Super Eagles.
He asked that he be given more support, while blaming the players for not beating the visiting Tunisians in a must-win game on Sunday.
At the dressing room immediately after the match, Amodu, in the presence of the sports minister and other top officials, accused the players of lacking tactical discipline.
Officials told Goal.com that a full technical committee meeting will take place on Wednesday.
Goal.com also learned that after the game, the Eagles argued among themselves in the dressing room, blaming one another for the 2-2 draw, which has compromised their chances of featuring at the 2010 World Cup finals.

semid4lyfe:
Abegiii, U guys should cut Amodu some slack jare.

A coach can only go as far as issuing instructions on how to play to his players ~ I mean he won't get on the pitch and play for them. Coaches all over the world have been known to berate their players for not delivering on the pitch of play and IMO,that was clearly the case yesterday.

Must a striker be told to shoot at goal when in front of the post?
Must Taiye Taiwo be told to close mark a striker and run with that striker when he made a run to free himself?
Must Adeleye be told to pick up a striker who had beaten taiye taiwo with a clever run?
(Watch the replay of the 2nd goal by the tunisians & y'all will see Taiye and Adeleye ran to cover the post instead of charging at that tunisian striker). Simple judgemental error, if u ask me. The mere presence of a dèfender would have put pressure on that striker and forced him to pass the ball into open play or at most he'll have gotten a corner.

Finally, Must a coach tell his players to hold the ball and stiffle out the opposition 5 minutes to the end of the game?
The answer is N0.

Our players with the exception of OSAZE were just too immobile on the day. They all expected the ball to be placed at their feet and never made runs into open spaces to free themselves like the tunisians did.

All these things are elementary things in football and pros don't need to be told these things by a coach.

Finally, finally - for that second goal,I blame
1. The player who passed the ball to Kanu when he had clearly been closed down by two tunisian players(think it was Nsfor-not sure). He had other options like passing back to the goalkeeper, taiwo or adeleye. Root cause of the 2nd goal IMO.
2. Kanu for loosing the ball. A little more ingenuity and he could have wriggled himself out of that tight situation.
3. Taiwo for loosing a player he should have been marking( and running to cover the post when he should have been charging at that striker)
4. And Adeleye running to cover the post when he should
have been picking up on that striker.

Make una just leave sports ministry, N.F.F out of this one becos the little successes we have achieved in football has been with the same bad sports administration.

Blame Amodu for lack of playing formation, bad team selection if u will, but to me it was clearly a case of the players (with the exception of osaze) failing to deliver.

Yes, I agree there was no tactical formation but we could still have fumbled and wumbled and gotten the desired result yesterday.
A coach led a team to battle with a strategy that  failed and you are saying it was not his fault. We have virtually fumbled and wumbled to get all the results under Amodu's leadership since this campaign started. If a coach will not help define the team then let him refund the salary and go home. Abi na only Nigerians God create?

All these mistakes you pointed out that led to the late equaliser by Tunisia were made over and over from the beginning to the end of the match, we were only lucky the Tunisians did not take their earlier chances. Remember the penalty?.  If a coach  finds his team playing this badly from the beginning of a  crucial match of this maginitude, Is he not supposed to give them the strategy to correct the lapses?

Why do you think  teams assemble players days before a match of this kind, is it to just mark register and kick the ball around? Is it not for mental, physical and tactical conditioning? Whose reponsibility is that?

Which  NFF are you talking about?

Is this same NFF that left out siasia (a coach that was ranked  15th in the world by FIFA last year  ) without a job and gave all coaching Jobs in the country to mediocre coaches.

Is it the same NFF that found it too difficult to replace Ladan Bosso until they were  harassed by Nigerians to do so?

Is it the same NFF that has been blindly praising Amodu until we got to this mess of permutation again?

Abeg Oga make we talk true the wey things  be.

FIFA- It was apparent, your full back Adeleye needed cover as he was left for dead on several occasions, why did you not change things around, any sound coach would have made adjustments

Amodu- FIFA i am sound ke!! we fashioned a game plan for defensive cover and midfield football, we did not scout the Tunisians well, the VHS tape was sent at the last minute so we had barely 1 hour to counterract their game plan

SportsRe: Nigeria (2) Vs Tunisia (2) on Sunday 6th September by naso2(m): 2:41pm On Sep 07, 2009
The Tunisian coach had a formular that was too confusing for Amodu to understand let alone counter.

I blame Amodu 100% for the loss. Amodu said  before the match that the boys are professionals hence should know what to do as if the tunisians who are professionals as well do not have a Coach.

Coaching is like training a child , Charity they say begins at home. A good coach would correct most of the defeciences of his team in training and not wait for the big occassion for emergency measures. But a bad coach will not even know where the problems are. A bad coach will not be honest with his players , but will be talking like a politician just as  Amodu does.

Making changes though a measure allowed by the rules for correction of defects , is not supposed to be a coach's first and only option in a match. There are  lots of things a coach can correct in the team even without making changes. Nigeria started and ended the game with a faulty marking style. But i doubt if amodu noticed.

Although I will blame Taye taiwo (for not keeping tab on his man for the second goal), I do not think the defense was our main problem yesterday. The defensive midfield was none existent. Olofijana and kalu uche were  not just working, and  were causing the defense to be under tremendous pressure. Mikel though average at least was instrumental to the second goal.

The presidential task force is another failure where educated people think like like children, they narrowed motivation for players that are already millionaires in dollars to just raising winning bonuses. What a shame.

Amodu should have been sacked long ago, but I know the NFF , they just need the heat to subside and you will hear that they will sink or swim with AMODU.

This team reminds me of chelsea under Scolari.
