semid4lyfe:I believe you can do better than this, except your name is AMODU SHuAIBU. Siasia took the U-20 TEAM IN 2005 played the qualifiers, went to Benin and defeated every team to win in Africa, he went to Holland and played till the final lost to argentina, He started the Olympic 2008 qualifiers and made it ahead of teams like Ghana and south Africa. Overage players did not show up,some other reliables of the team did not show up , he improvised and produced a formidable team that won 4 matches and drew 1 match and lost only to a star-studded Argentine team in the final narrowly. Voted the 15th best coach in the world for the year 2008 and second best in Africa. If because of this Egypt experience(which could have happened to even the best coach in the world) you term him a failure, I may want to submit that you simply do not understand football. QED |
Builder:Did you say bet your life? thats too risky you know? Either you like it or not Siasia will go far and do well in coaching. The team did not do well but SIA1 is still the best coach in the country. He has at other times accepted responsibility for the flop of the team. So what are you talking about? The only problem in that team was the inability of the strikers to take their chances. We are all pained by that but remember it takes an intelligent coach to even have an approach that will beat the opponents backline and create scoring chances. Best of luck SIA1. One day you will surely coach SE its a matter of time. Haters can rot in hell. |
@babapupa Thats the governor of my state, if him like make him commit suicide. Infact make him jump enter ocean. The truth is they must all account for monies collected for public good. While the FG and the oil companies have the largest chunk of the blame for the underdevelopment of the ND, I believe people like sylva must not be shielded in any way. They must be accountable. I must however add that Bankole's statement that Bayelsa collects 9 times what Lagos gets is miles of tangent. He is supposed to give facts and not sensational statements to get public applause. |
@sagamite My friend, I am not saying Amodu is a good coach just because he has not lost a match. I am saying he is a good coach because he has not lost a match and his previous history is good.I hope you know if we draw our next match against Kenya and Tunisia loses , our world cup hopes would have gone up in flames even with Amodu’s unbeaten record. We have simply played badly even for the matches we won under Amodu. Even Eguavon was not this bad. I can't fault his team selection and if he had won Tunisia 2-1, then he would have been a hero. In the Tunisia match, the football played in the second half was the best attacking football I have seen from SE since 2001. They were on track until the slowpoke Taye Taiwo cost us the WC.Wrong. May be you need to get the post-match briefing of Amodu where, he said we were lucky to have had a draw in that match, because we were once saved by the post and Tunisia had a clear penalty that was not given. Was it not in the second half where Eyeama and the entire defense line was rounded except that Tunisia could not find the net? Was it not in the Second half that Adeleye almost scored an own goal under constant pressure from the Tunisian attackers? I don’t seem to understand you but if both team took their chances Nigeria would have lost clearly. I am not seeing the problem of SE as Amodu, I am seeing it as lack of a creative player (and none exists that can be invited) AND the mentality of the players. What creative player? How many good teams in the world have creative players in the mould of okocha? Who is the creative player for Ghana? So of all the players in the local league Amodu cant find a creative player assuming that really is his problem? Who was the creative player for Siasia’s Olympic 2008 team?. On mentality , Amodu has simply lost the respect of the players because his presence makes no difference technically. A coach is supposed to bring the boys up to speed mentally before any match, and if there are players that constantly fall short, he is supposed to show them the door. There a times a coach will engage the services of seasoned psychologists to bring the mentality of the team. But first he must recognize the where the problem in his team lies. Our problem is tactical/technical naivety which has come with its attendant side effects. A team that can go and beat France in France but can not beat Tunisia or Mozambique in Nigeria. What does that tell you?It tells me that the France’s match was simply a fluke. SIMPLE. They played their heart out against France but will be doing big man, mo ti lo waju, football against Mozambique (not chasing the ball or marking closely because they think these as "small boys"So if a team plays with its life in a friendly and gets unserious in a in a wc qualifier I should be blamed? The team was so unserious even 5 minutes to the end of the Mozambique match which would have handed Tunisia the WC ticket automatically. There is not much the coach can do once they are on the pitch. TT has been caused by someone in his family and needs salvation in one of the places on Lagos-Ibadan expressway. For how many matches will a coach remain helpless? The fool cost us the WC, not Amodu. Amodu did his bit from the attacking football I saw. All he can do is remove the uncommitted waste in the next match.Ok. It was Amodu that scored the Osaze and Eneramo goals but was not responsible for the TT flop. I laugh in arabic. My friend it is a team game with a fair share of assets and liabilities. Watch that match again and you will see that the Tunisian attackers were always catching our defense line napping , while they(Tunisia) simply owned Ike uche. What does that say to you? superior technical approach by the Tunisians. The only time I saw him lacking was vs Tunisia away, which was an appalling match tactically. TT cost us the WC.Tactically, that was even one of the matches that Amodu was average. At least he starved Tunisia of scoring chances. Can you compare that to the match against Mozambique in Maputo? Or against Serra leone in freetown? AMODU MUST GO. |
@sagamite I hold you in high regard in this forum. But I must confess you are WRONG as touching Amodu. I responded to your claims on Amodu earlier, you may want to look at my response. I simply do not know where to start addressing this your recent post as there are contradictions everywhere. AMODU MUST GO. |
Ope o. Atleast we go rest for house for 2 weeks before NLC and Govt. go bring am back to 75 naira. Lagos stress too much , we need this strikes once every quarter. ![]() |
@poster Most times we make the mistake of seeing the most vocal and exposed people as the intelligent ones. You may be wrong. Her problem may just be exposure , abi english dey hard am small? However if you are sure of your checks then look at are siblings, if the "mumuness" runs in her family then make you run o. Before person go born pikin wey go dey struggle with nursery class at the age of 10. The world is now very competitive . No start your pikin from negative o,because the next generation is meant for the superintelligent kids. QED. |
Theblessed:You are so wrong my dear. Yes we know the politicians are just reading another baseless manifesto but this analysis is wrong. |
The ABURI accord failed because of differences in interpretation of the coverage of the accord. Certain decrees were abrogated in line with the accord. Hence I think it is wrong to say the accord was totally discarded. The war did not broke out the next day after the accord, hence like I asked earlier , can anyone here give a clear sequence of events after the accord that culminated in a full scale war? pleaseeeeeeee |
semid4lyfe:I agree with you that Tunisia can not beat Mozambique in Maputo. But also note that this Amodu's team CANNOT beat kenya in NAIROBI |
^^^^^^^^^^^ You are wrong once it ends like that we would have qualified with a +5 while Tunisia will still have +4 goals difference. |
sammytb:So in your dictionary , the football aspirations of a country of 150 million people should constrained by the technical limitations of one man? abi? Who asked him to try? Na him papa get Nigeria? let him leave the scene for more capable hands before I open my eyes ![]() |
Afam:For the benefit of our readers, dont you think you could have bettered peoples understanding of the issues then by supplying superior information to counter his claims, rather than this path of insults? Just my point though. |
Sagamite:Yes Amodu has not lost any match, but considering the strength of the teams in the first round and this second round can you mention just one match that this Amodu's team has played well? In this WC qualifying series we have played 11 matches under Amodu just mention 1 match. You said the one in Tunis showed lack of tactical nuances which you blame Amodu for. Infact that match as poor as it was is still one of Amodu's best matches. Did you watch the match against SA ? Yes even great coaches have off days so do poor coaches occasionaly have great outings. Amodu is neither here nor there. He is a poor coach and poor all the time. The team does not have a soul. When you play a world cup qualifying match where news would have reached the Nigerian bench that Tunisia scored as early as the 6th minute and a Nigerian team was playing as if it was a training match ? When it was clear that a draw would have given Tunisia a ticket since they would have gone 4 points clear? After the shabby showing against Tunisia in Abuja some weeks ago? ha Aside osaze and may be Ajilore there was no effort whatsoever from the players. Abeg make we talk true we did not deserve to win that match and Amodu doesnt know jack. Ogunjobi almost became the coach. The few times the cameras picked amodu he was simply acting up. Nothing more. Amodu only gets the players together , have some workout sessions and pick eleven players without any workable plan. He has once said it that the players are professionals hence should know what to do. Even the lampards,Beckhams,John Terrys of the world know they need sound technical input from a coach to do well When Chelsea was doing badly under scolari even his favourite striker ANELKA voiced out the need for a change tactical as they seemed clueless against big teams. Guus came and chelsea defeated all the teams( Arsenal and Liverpool) that had disgraced them in standford bridge, he just did not have an opportunity against Sir Alex again. Abeg make we dey talk true. Abeg |
okeey:Which world cup, have we qualified? This team can not beat Kenya in Nairobi , even with 13 players. Get it? |
Ladies and Gentlemen , I hereby move a motion that the title "SUPER" be dropped from these useless bunch of players forthwith . You are free to just call them chikens, fowls etc. But no "SUPER" please because "super chickens" would definitely do far better than this bunch. Make God help us make CIV catch this kind our team na im be say e go reach 5-0. I mean am. |
yes we now only need to beat kenya in nairobi by 1-0. I am almost sure that Tunisia can not get anything better than a draw against Mozambique. The question now is can we beat Kenya in nairobi expecially when Kenya will be playing with their lives for a nations cup spot? To beat Kenya we will need a combination of bribe and MTN/FIFA wayo. Definitely not these players. If by chance we qualify, then AMODU must be sacked , even before the nations cup. There are a lot of good foreign coaches out there that are` looking for a WC opportunity. |
Please can anyone give a chronological sequence of events after the Aburi meeting? please. What I understand is that relations broke down after the Aburi meeting , not because of a pre-meditated scheme by the FG to renege but for differences in interpreting the resolutions at the meeting. We can not feign ignorance that the primary motivation of the other members at the conference was how to win Ojukwu back to the fold while Ojukwu was bent on weakening the centre and Gowon's overall influence, and(or) to intiate a ploy to make the secession bid less painful. We must be sincere enough to acknowledge that for the entire Nation to accede to demands in mould that Ojukwu wanted it, then there should have been provisions for other members to prepare better by wider consultations in their various constituencies and not the 1or 2-day meeting that birthed the declarations at the meeting. |
emyah:You see, that is the problem. If you do not yet know that Kalu is one of the problems of not just the Igbo nationality but Nigeria, then you are better not start any Biafra agitation. Kalu is one of the few Igbos that rode on the back of the pugnacious relationship between the East and the North to attain his status both politically and economically. I hope your applause for him has nothing to do with his political party which poses to specially represent Igbo interest becuase chances are that , he will soon jump ship and reunite with his ilk in PDP. You have still not answered my question on what you want to achieve that you cant start now. |
emyah:So in this your seperationist theory, the only way Igbos can develop and become the envy of all is when we split the country and a state of Biafra is born. Tell me what do you intend to achieve then, that you cant start now? |
Rosabelle:SPOT ON. I HAIL U 4 THIS. |
check Inec website a day before the elections and you will see the results there. |
citizenY:Omo you too much ![]() |
when I remember patricia etteh water runaway me eye o |
why the man no go get mouth when UCHECHI,IGHALO etc don fall Siasia hand. Amodu is the biggest beneficiary of the Egypt 2009 demise |
sley4life:pump it somewhere else? ![]() Tell me ,which area of our national life is doing better than sports presently? |
The Haruna issue is just about the main blame I have for Siasia. Sincerely some other refs would have called for an infrigement for the way the German charged Haruna. Before the match I stated that our ability on the ball was going to cause some problems for the Germans . It actually did except that Siasia seemed not to caution the boys when it appeared they were over doing it and taking unwarranted risks. What Haruna did was common in the match from the beginning. Our central defenders found it easy to dribble the german attackers without considering the attendant risks. It is however unfortunate that we learnt our lessons with about the last kick of the match. |
shesi:So you now know better than all five chelsea coaches (Morinho, grant, scolari, hiddink, ancelotti) that have left him in the chelsea first team? Rubbish. To your anguish whenever Mikel leaves chelsea it will be for another big club in Europe. What you should be trying to find out is what this foreign coaches see that people like you need to grow up to understand. How many goals did Makelele score in his entire career? myhouse:Okocha is a good player no doubt, but with all these accolades have you tried to find out why Okocha never had any look-in by any big team in Europe? Okocha did not step into anyones shoes in Nigeria so is it not necessary to produce another player in Okocha's mould for us as a nation to play good football. Okocha has his style with its attendant strenghts and weaknesses, so does Mikel. I hope you get it. |
Well the general outlook of the SDP ,NRC elections was the best we ever had, however that was just during the elections. The post-election era was so short-lived that the inherent self-serving tendencies of the average Nigerian poltician had not started blossoming What I simply mean is : 1. How sure are we that the ruling party(may be SDP) would not have embarked on measures to slice the opposition to the minutest size in a bid to perpetuate certain elements in power? 2. How sure are we that politicians in the opposition would not have gravitated enmasse to the ruling party in a bid to quench the thirst for lucre. We all know that one of the biggest problems of our democracy is the lack of credible, sustainable alternatives. Some however argue that constraining political ideology into just two strands like the SDP and NRC, had long term damning effect on the nation, since it was only a matter of time before people started seeing that the parties were not fundamentally different afterall. |
ono:First we need to confirm if every ethnic group has atleast one representative in the National assembly. I doubt. SapeleGuy:A status where all ethnic groups pull equal weight is simply impossible. There is no way the "i plenty pass you" will be eliminated. Yes even in the most advanced democracies. However if we consider things on the grounds of fairness, then we know a lot needs to improve. Fairness in terms of what every group is bringing to the table and what they get in return from the collective pool. |
Nonsense. |
Truth is, whenever human life is wasted emotions run high. I know how aggitated I have been since I heard of the youth corper that was raped in the north. It becomes easy therefore to understand pressures (internal &external) that would have served as levers for decisions Ojukwu took then , when Igbos were being wasted . Certainly Ojukwu needed to consolidate on the confidence the people the then eastern region had in him. From the report though , I must confess that "yoruba fear fear syndrome" contributed somehow in escalating the issue. With FAJUYI murdered right there in Ibadan, it is unthinkable that Ogundipe will not show seniority or at best resign. However Ojukwu's statements of doubts, as to the level of comprehension the other members of the SMC had of his demands that they innocently acceded to, is some form of indictment on his sincerity and understanding of the impact a full scale military confrontation. First Ojukwu wanted everyone to agree that military option was to be ruled out in any confrontation purely on the understanding that the Eastern region was no match in military might with the federal forces. He then went ahead to exploit his intellectual superiority to make demands that surely would have been turned down if Gowon were a little more intelligent than he actually was. But surely Ojukwu should have known that Gowon would somehow get the gist and renege. I know people will want to fault my line of argument, but I see this way. If I have an older brother that is stronger and I know that I will definitely be the loser in any confrontation , I will only chose to exploit his ignorance if I am sure he will never get the true picture thereafter. It behoves me therefore to properly explain my demands. One could argue that it is not Ojukwus role to school Gowon but that is not really the point here. In closing I am happy the document states categorically that there is nothing new a sovereign National conference will delibrate on, that we have not done before. Lets not waste precious time on another conference. |
