@Onlytruth. Wrong priorities. . . and at this point I must agree with the point of view Ndu Chuks holds about you. Reading from the pages of posts, you like come across as someone who considers all angles. In truth, you hide from the truth. In reality, you stand with convenience. My post doesn't ask people not to vent or air their views. On the contrary, it attacks the manner in which it is put forward. You cannot want people to listen to your plight while showing open hatred to another race. It's as simple as it gets. I am looking for simpler ways to put it but I cannot find any. I have not seen you speak to the people with which you share common views to watch how they express it. Instead you complain about how and why they can air their views. That's convenience. That's hiding from the truth. Don't fool anyone. It's in your interest that people understand your points else you won't begin airing it in the first place. However, you cannot complain about tribal subjugation whilst showing open hatred for other tribes. Simple. Mind you, I hold no allegiances. |
udezue:The problem is I am not a northerner. . . Once again, you have assumed that by not accepting your points, I am a northerner and your venom must rain on me. . . . and that exactly my friend is what LogicPower is trying to put forward to you. You cannot show open hatred towards a race or tribe whilst trying to educate the public about the wrong your people have suffered. People will not listen to you. |
All those apply if we are simply discussing a ‘one-off’ miss. As an intelligent person, you should be able to distinguish between a one-off, and persistently poor performances that have constituted themselves into a trend. So all I am saying only applies if it is a one-off miss. Let's go over what I said again. That Torres' miss is shocking? That the miss is terrible? That all players can miss in that situation? What could my utterances possibly be even if it wasn't a one-off miss? He deserves to die? He deserves leprosy? He deserves to be locked up forever? I don't really understand your point. Because whether or not it is a one off miss, you can't come up with worse words than I have chosen. Secondly, my posts have acknowledged over and again that Torres has been misfiring. Hence the words "give time" "improving" . . . However, while Torres has made it easy for folks like you to conclude that the 'miss' is a consequence of a trend of below par performances, the videos posted show otherwise. On contrary, the videos show that anyone even players in blistering form can miss the chance. Therefore I reserve the right to argue that Torres' 'trend' is unconnected with the miss. My argument is supported by the POV of a non-Chelsea fan - a football psychologist - on the internet. (Sorry I cannot find the link). He highlights that the miss had nothing to do with form. He also says it's nothing to do with lack of confidence. He says with lack of confidence and lack of form comes immense problems with decision making. He says, 1. The pass to David Luiz for the first goal against Leverkusen when he could have turned for a shot. 2. The pass to Mata for the second goal when he could have tried a curler. 3. The pass to Ramires he could have converted. 4. The goal he scored. 5. The way he rounded the keeper. He points out that in each of these crucial moments, he never over-hit the passes, neither did he under-hit them. He cites how he takes his goal with exquisite technique. Especially how he thought of it in that moment in time. He cites the run for the ball and how he rounded De Gea. He says if anything at all, he was excited for a split second that he could go from not scoring at all to perhaps scoring 2 in a single game. The bottom line of his post was that all these do not point to someone suffering from lack of form. He cites that there are several other factors contributing to Torres' inability to score. While I am not saying all he's said is true, there is a lot to borrow from them all. It's not just simple to say 'Oh he'snot scored in a while . . . so that's why he missed' Infact, Torres has never missed a sitter since he joined Chelsea. |
What Logic Power said about Udezue is true. You cannot show open hatred for people from other tribes whilst trying to make a case of unjustness for your own people. It immediately throws your case out. Mind you, I hold no allegiances to either side. |
This thread needs to be 'stickied'. Mr Seun - your part in cleansing the nation of institutionalized corruption. |
Maybe we should arm them both with Atomic Weapons and the take them to the Atlantic where they totally annihilate each other. That would be killing two birds with one stone . . . wouldn't it? ![]() |
azpekuliar:That boy alongside Jack Wilshere, Josh McEachran, Jonjo Shelvey, Raheem Sterling, Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck, Danny Sturridge, Alex Chamberlain, Nathaniel Chlobah etc are real good prospects for England's future. Back to Chelsea, Ross Barkley and Kevin De Bryune deals in January will be fantastic. However that £20m thing is ridiculous considering how much Ashley Young went for. The rebuilding continues though. That said, I can't help but feel sorry for Everton. Another young boy departing before they can reap the fruits. |
debosky:What part of my argument holds no water? That Torres' miss is shocking? That the miss is terrible? That all players can miss in that situation? That Torres is not a £50m player? At best, £25m? That it is just a miss and everyone should get over it? What exactly about my point holds no water. Me thinks you need an argument and trying to find a hole where there isn't one is a good place to start. |
Everything seemed to be going fine until the last paragraph. President Goodluck Jonathan, who was represented by Vice President Namadi Sambo, blamed the unstable power supply experienced in the country on poor pricing. According to him,[b] Nigeria has the lowest electricity tariff and that is why it has poor power supply. [/b]Jonathan also said that a new monthly bill of N11bn had been approved for Power Holding of Nigeria’s workers by the government.Oh Please! Insubordination Vandalism Un-professionalism. Corruption Appointment of wrong ministers Ineffective solution for billing and payment of bills. To name a few. How can he come to the conclusion low tariff is the sole reason for poor supply? This man never ceases to amaze me. |
FBS:Who cares what Benitez thinks? Here's one for you, AVB was asked the same question and he said "it happens in football". So because Benitez coughs means what? Means. He is just another dude asked a question about a topic in vogue. Can someone translate the above pls and I can't see anything funny in there. It is hilarious because you are jumping from post to pillar. FBS: That miss is inexcusable. . . I will take a concussed and malaria infused Drogba over Torres. Nateevs: Even if he doesn't score? FBS: Because I now he will score. Nateevs: Okayyyyy. . . . but Torres scored. FBS: What is the relevance of the goal? Nateevs: I see. So right now it's about the relevance of the goal not "Give me Drogba because I know he will score" So my argument is unless you are claiming Drogba would have "scored" a hat-trick or Torres is to blame for not scoring 3 goals, it is extremely hilarious to see anyone go from complaining that a striker doesn't score to complaining about the relevance of their goal when they eventually score. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE MISS MR! It was horrible. END OF. . .The miss is shocking. Very shocking. I almost rolled off my chair. But I am not going to call for a "concussed and malaria infused" Drogba because of a miss that could happen in football. Are you telling me Drogba is beyond missing a goal? I'm sorry but why this essay?Essay because your argument reeks of bias for head to toe. Now you are arguing about shape because you saw Ibime's post eh? Coming form a Drogba fan, you should know all about losing the ball cheaply and putting pressure on the midfield and back four. You are not claiming that's a Torres invention by any chance are you? Yes it is ok that he missed the chance because it happens. . . not because he is improving. Get over it man!. The miss was shocking. The miss was terrible but it happens. John Terry missed a glorious chance to win us the CL final. Di Matteo missed a glorious chance to put Barca out of the CL in 2000. So what? We continue watching football. We continue to support those who able to put in a shift next time. Quit this yeye argument and tell me your squad for the Carling Cup abeg. ![]() |
@Russellino. It is expected that the war veterans you interviewed (who will most likely have fought on the Biafran side) will laugh off such suggestions. Because they laughed it off does not mean it was a rumour to push anti-biafran agenda. If you do not believe the article over lack of substantial evidence, you must apply the same rule to those who laugh off the same sentiment when there's no laudable evidence as yet to suggest it didn't happen. If you seek the truth, you must keep your mind open as opposing camps will say things their support their respectively allegiances. |
I will be horrified if Josh does not get a start. He has to start. The game is Wednesday not Tuesday as I stated earlier. |
Game tomorrow against Fulham and I am hoping we give Josh, Romeu, Lukaku and Bertrand some game time. Hopefully we will line up this way. Hilario Ferriera, Alex, Luiz, Bertrand Romeu Anyone Josh Kalou Lukaku Malouda |
Ibime:Yeah. Happy? |
Yes you are missing a lot. We lost 3-1 not 8-2. We have 10 points from 5 games not 4. We are 3rd on the table not 17th. We have conceded only 4 goals not 12. We have a goal difference of +2 not -8. We look like on the path to greater achievements, you don't. See how much you are missing? |
Just saw a new one now. I'd 8-2 be an Arsenal fan right now. They've been getting the stick 4-3 weeks now. . . ![]() How cool is that? |
debosky:Are you thinking top 4? |
proudly9ja:Top 4? Hehehehehe. Lemme give some stats. Only two teams in the history of the PL have ever conceded more goals than Arsenal at this stage of the PL. I will stick my neck out and say Arsenal to finish outside top 6. |
Before you turn this into a fight, it's clear you have lost on this argument even before you started. Check this out! FBS:This is hilarious FBS. It's not about how relevant the goal was. You said you would have had a concussed and malaria infused Drogba over Torres. I asked why. . and you reply was "because I know he would score." Then I said, well, Torres scored. Now you are coming back with how relevant the goal is. Unless you are claiming that Drogba would have scored a hat-trick, we can ask the question "How relevant would Drogba's goals have been?" You are beating a man for not scoring and beating him with the same stick for his goal not being relevant. . . after he scores a goal. What sort of argument is that? FBS:2 goals in a gazillion minutes can only be shocking if his last goals were before the minutes started racking up. He scored a goal yesterday. Until he stops scoring again, you have to regard what's happened to him as a loss of form. In terms of goal scoring form, he is not better than any of our strikers. In terms of keeping the shape and flow of the system, he is better than all our strikers. You marvel at the way we flow in the our games lately. Well, Torres is an integral part of that. If you bring Drogba in, you ruin it. Choose one. FBS:I remember my argument. Except Drogba had not scored a goal then and he distorts the shape of the team. And your defence then was that he was creating chances. Well, Torres just scored a goal, missed a chance to score another and created two beautiful chances in the game that others could not finish. Also he keeps the shape of the team. At this moment, it is one better. Just like I was calling then for Drogba to be dropped after it was clear he would not cut it again, if Torres goes for 5 games without scoring again, I will begin to ask for Danny and Lukaku in his place. All I ask you to do is if you believed your argument was valid then, apply it now. FBS:Of course that should be the question. You are acting irresponsibly. Like Torres is a player you borrowed off Arsenal. It is in our interest that he improves. How can that not be the question? You are sort of suggesting that players who are bought for £50m can and should never go out of form. Sorry Dude, £100m players will go off form. He didn't value himself at £50m. He is at best a £25m player even by current market's standards. So if you are expecting a £50m performance from him, wake up and smell the coffee, you are not going to get it. However, will he score goals? Absolutely he will. And yesterday's game proved again he will. As to the miss your toddler would have converted. . . Why don't you go over the videos I posted? |
Does anyone know where Arsenal will finish? |
coogar:I have the David Villa one up there. It's crazy. This is the Kanu one. [flash=425,300] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jQG73v7X0U[/flash] |
FBS:But Torres scored. . . Did you forget that? FBS:I am defending his horrible miss because he scored. . . . FBS:He hasn't scored in a number of games because he has been out of form. In his last 3 games, he has created three goals and scored one. If Ramires was half a decent player, he would have converted Torres' chance yesterday. It is not enough to talk about how many games he's gone without a goal. The more important question is "Is he even improving?" and I think you will find my friend that the answer is yes. However, I sense another "Drogba is the best" argument is coming up even though you were the one arguing last season when Drogba was in a horrible form that "Even when Drogba is not scoring, he is creating chances" Me sense double standards. Are you trying to argue that Drogba is above a miss? |
Ibime:What I believe is that AVB is looking at it in more ways than an ordinary fan. Some strikers are able to create chances for themselves but they interrupt the flow of the system. They could go on to score a ton of goals but the team suffers. I have heard him talk many times on CTV and his philosophy is "team first". If the team scores, everything else is secondary. According to his interviews, it doesn't matter if the person can dribble the whole of the opposition, if he ignores his primary role - team role - he drops in the pecking order. The same reason you will never hear him talk up or talk down a single player in a press conference, no matter how well or how bad they've performed. . . . Team first, on and off the pitch. If you ask me, as long as it wins us games, I back him. |
FBS:Even if he doesn't score? |
Come on guys don't over play the Torres miss. [flash=425,300] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g79O4rpMTFo[/flash] [flash=425,300] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iZX_khnvok[/flash] [flash=425,300] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuIqr5nFssQ[/flash] [flash=425,300] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJBgN-0SvUI[/flash] I think you will find that these misses are worse than Torres' one. |
debosky:How you make statements about points boards at this point in time beats my imagination. Have you got no shame at all? I even saw you make suggestions about intelligent coaching. Do you think Wenger was excused of applying intelligence when he went to OT without being conservative knowing fully well his team could not match United and conceded 8 goals? You are complaining about a manager who is very early in his career - almost half the age of Wenger by the way - and in his first game against United in the PL. BS at best. Even Fergie with all his years of experience came to SB with an inferior team and decided not to go conservative and got spanked 3-0. . . Is that to say Fergie is not intelligent? You are a disgrace. Bolton, Tottenham, Sunderland, Stoke and Chelsea next up. Let's see how much intelligent coaching you have in the next five games. |
Fifthly, I believe Ashley Cole's recent loss of form is linked to AVB's desperate attempts to cop Alvaro Perreira.Brilliant piece of punditry there. On Torres and Ramires, We have seen Torres do it before. There are reasons to suggest that he can recapture that form. I can bet top Dollar Ramires is an adopted Brazilian. He must have somehow found himself 1950 Mercedes Lorry towards Rio Dejaneiro. There are some players who were not born with the gift and he certainly is not one of them. AVB should not out of desperation shoot down the confidence of Lukaku by playing him on the wings. It's bad enough knowing he was going on loan just days after he signed. I am not expecting him to carry Chelsea on his shoulders because ignoring how huge he is, he is a kid. To put things in perspective, he is 2 months younger than Josh McEcahran. |
Who says NL Chelsea fans aren't cool? ![]() Nice one guys. |
[quote author=kay_pumpin link=topic=673205.msg9172191#msg9172191 date=1316371899]One question though, when Lampard was on in the 1st half, why was he playing so deep to the point Ramires was always ahead of him for every break? Also why can't Boas see that a Ramires/Mikel/Mereiles playing deep and Mata(in a Cesc role for Arsenal)playing at the tip of the midfield is the way to go?Lampard's career is so yesterday, even a football neophyte knows that.[/quote]Nincompoops like Ritchboy will make you believe Mata is nothing but a winger. On Lamps, the funny thing is to many it looks like it happened overnight when the signs had been there for seasons. If we had refreshed like I had been pleading, we would have had someone right to replace him. AVB is trying to deploy Lamps deep because he no longer has the pace. The system requires that shape be maintained. Going forward and defending. If Lamps is allowed to bomb forward, it will create problems given we are playing a high defensive line. In this system, Lamps needs to be a pure midfielder. Make those passes, find your attackers and let them do the scoring. If you can get a goal, do so. However, Lamps has not been this type of midfielder. . . never has been. I still rue the fact that we didn't get a Modric type midfielder in the summer. I still believe we need one in the big games. |
dayokanu:That's because you never watched Yak's miss. |
debosky:One could think you guys lost 2-1 to United. Your punditry is of immense value bro. What do you think Wenger learnt about United in donkey years of perennial weeping? Go fix ya problems. You guys are 17th on the table, playing Bolton and Spurs next. I for one will be happy seeing you guys battling for points with the likes of Wolves. It will tell us what seasoned mangers like Wenger has learnt from United. ![]() |
