Yes it's very bad considering the kind of people that brothels attracts. You'll have jobless criminals hanging around the vicinity and they wouldn't mind robbing members during evening programs. And then there's the regular police raids that occurs in such places. What if the raid occurs when you just dismissed an evening service? It means all the males present in the church wouldn't be safe, they would be forcefully arrested and tagged as criminals. Did I forget to mention the issue of frequent fights between gangs and rival cult members. Just imagine having a vigil and fight breaks out in the middle of the night, nàked ladies and half nàked men running inside the church to take cover, sound of gunshots echoing though the night...that would be a very traumatic experience for your members. I wouldn't support such. If you want to evangelize to prostitutes, send mature female members there to preach Christ to them, but situating your church right on their door step, is way out of line. |
It depends. If the Church is large and has enough financial resources to effectively manage their daily operations, then by all means the instrumentalists should be encouraged with honorariums no matter how small. If the church is just a small local church struggling to run their services because of lack of finances, I believe that the instrumentalists there should just play freely for God. |
Nice2023:This Nigeria you're talking about died the day APC came into power. Most wealthy people who opt for abroad these days do so because of the growing security concerns in Nigeria. Kidnappings, robberies, ritual killings...etc. You may have all the money you want, but are your kids safe when they leave for school? Are you safe when driving on our kidnappers riddled roads? Some days back we saw the mutilated corpse of an 8 year old child on the front page. If you can provide for yourself, you should be worried cos you've become a target to criminals. This is why people leave. |
OBTMOS:Enugu is relatively peaceful. |
pocohantas:Tinubu didn't do anything special in Lagos. The best governors Lagos had during this dispensation of democracy was Fashola and Ambode. There were no working like street lights and traffic lights on almost all Lagos major roads and connecting streets during Tinubu's administration. Oshodi, Eko isale, Mushin...etc, were grooming grounds for touts. You can't pass these areas from 8pm without getting robbed cos there weren't street lights to illuminate the surroundings. Tinubu had problem with all his deputies from Femi Pedro to Akerele. They all complained of how he constantly ignored due process and wanted things done his own way. Tinubu started the politics of imposing his candidates on lagosians. Whoever he chooses becomes an elected public office holder in Lagos State regardless of whether or not the people want the candidate. Is that the kind of person you were expecting to work? You can't give what you don't have. Tinubu is more like a mob boss. He grooms thugs for his political assignments, he has no concern towards the people. He's only interested in enforcing his policies on the already improverished populace. |
vybzkartel:Most of you don't know how to manage your relationship with your subordinate. That's why you keep experiencing insubordination, blackmails, lack of punctuality...etc. From them. You should know that it's not every girl you must smile and joke with. If you have a female employee whom you're laughing and joking with, she'll never take you serious. You must know when you draw the line. For this girl to make such claims about you, means you spend ample time laughing and joking with her. |
RussellRutherfo:Welcome to Nigeria. |
pocohantas:What state are you from? pocohantas:You see this agbero menace in Lagos eh, if unchecked they would start collecting money from people for walking on the road. There was a time I went to bariga market to buy fruits. I was shocked when agberos were collecting money from these mallams that push kegs of water in carts to sell. I was like how much are these people making that you're collect money from them. To be honest, I really felt bad that day. pocohantas:Yea...most times women are always singled out, cos they know that a lady wouldn't have time to drag with them. She'll just give them whatever they're asking for and leave. But guys wouldn't. Especially rugged guys, dem go won claim omo adugbo. pocohantas:It's part of the 40 million youths job Tinubu promised. His kids are flying in presidential Jets and attending State sponsored seminars, while the youths are left to shake people up. There's a junction close to were I stay. Recently Keke started passing through there (maybe because of holdup). I was shocked to see that agberos have already stationed themselves at that junction to collect tolls from them. Tinubu has really given them jobs. 🤕 pocohantas:Lol... poor market women contributing money for someone who can comfortably buy everything they're selling and wouldn't even shake. Talk about worshiping your oppressors. Truly, Nigeria still has a long way to go. |
Men...what a half. We need to be more coordinated up front. This 1-0 is a very shaky lead. |
pocohantas:Lol... maybe he thought you're a politician's babe, so you should have money to give to him. ![]() Yea, it's not done in the east. Even in Okwor (one of the biggest market in Ebonyi State) they don't even charge people coming to buy goods. I was surprised when I discovered that they do it at rice Mill in Abakaliki. I just pray they don't start it in all major markets in Lagos, cos with the way agberos keep multiplying daily for this Lagos eh...even me, I'm beginning to get worried. |
pocohantas:Lol The only thing that didn't make me complain is that the money is very little. So just close eye and give them. |
pocohantas:I believe it's part of the channels all these politicians use to settle their thugs who worked for them during elections. As you paid for the ground, did they allow you fence it? ![]() |
pocohantas:In Abakaliki rice Mill, you pay after buying rice. That one they'll even give you ticket sef. If you buy one bushel of rice, you'll pay ₦50. 2 bushels ₦100... like that. (One bushel is 25kg that's half bag) You must settle them at the gate. If not they won't open it for you to leave. |
Treadway:Lol...I live in Lagos and I said standstill not go slow where vehicles would keep moving but slowly. You should note that in Lagos, standstill occurs mostly where there's a traffic light, or when the road is totally blocked. If you're an experienced driver, no matter how long the line is you should be able to see the first 3 cars ahead of you, so once their break lights go off, you switch on your engine...it's as easy as that. Unless you're driving a danfo, a jalopy or a car that over heats unnecessarily, I don't see why it shouldn't start at first attempt. If you're conversant with that Yaba tech/Waec road some years back. The right hand side of that road used to flood unnecessarily even during dry season causing serious traffic. Most times whenever I'm driving through there at night, that's what I do, I just switch off my engine cos it's usually a standstill. Then I'll keep monitoring the break lights of cars ahead of me, once they go off, I'll switch on my engine and move. |
Treadway:The rule of the thumb is that you switch off your engine on any standstill that exceeds 60 seconds. That way you'll be able to preserve your precious fuel. |
tuoyoojo:Some places even sell less than 605, I bought 601 at one fueling station around ikeja last 2 weeks. tuoyoojo:Covering a distance of over 50km on a daily basis is on the high side. Even people who live at ikorodu and shuttle the island don't cover such distance in a day. Lagos is small anyways. I still don't get it. If you're spending 7k daily on fueling based on covering over 100km per 9 liters, you'll be exhausting over a 100k per month to refuel your car... that's extremely high. For me, I just fill the tank, then use it until the pointer gets to "E". That way I'll be able to calculate how many days/weeks it was able to carry me...It would also help me know if the car is consuming too much fuel. Cos once I refill, I can easily give an estimate as to when I'll by fuel next. If you keep on topping your tank so that the pointer can constantly remain of "F" believe me, you won't have an estimate of how long a filled tank should carry you. And you'll discover that you're spending more money on fuel, because fueling station attendants would keep ripping you off. Let me explain...from that pic you posted, I can bet that if you drive into a fueling station now and buy a topup of 7k that pointer wouldn't move an inch. It would be as if you didn't even buy fuel. So your 7k is gone. Most of these rouge attendants throw a quick glance on your pointer before selling you fuel, so as to know how to cheat you. Some if you've already switched off your engine, they'll say, oga move front small, that's just to get you to turn on your ignition so they can have a quick glance at your fuel pointer. Once they see it's on F or almost F, they'll configure their machine to sell insufficient fuel for you. And if you notice and complain, they'll tell you that it's because the pointer is already on F, so topping it wouldn't show much. I used to top up like you do back then. But I discovered that sometimes, whenever I topup, the pointer wouldn't even move. When I noticed this, I started buying full tank, then use it until it reaches E before refueling again. And to be honest, I've been spending less on fuel every month. |
IyaTola:If you're spending 52k to fuel your car every week, it means that one kazeem (road side mechanic) has stolen your catalyst. Better take that car to a mechanic to get another one so as to reduce your fuel consumption. You should not be spending more than 45k per month (not per week) on fuel. Let me use the Lexus RX350 2010 to explain. It's fuel tank is 65 liters. And with a full tank, it can cover up to 630 kilometers. So if you buy fuel at 605 per liter X 65 liters = about 40k. If the distance from your house to your place of work is 15km, it means you'll be covering a distance of 30km per day. 630km ÷ 30km would give you 21. Meaning you should be able to cover 30k for 21 days. If you remove weekends you'll see that a full tank should be enough for you for one month. And mind you I'm using a V6 engine to calculate this. It would be much lesser if it's a 4 plug engine. Also, try to avoid buying your fuel in bits, today you buy 10k, tomorrow 5k, next tomorrow 8k...if you buy fuel that way you'll be cheated cos the attendant would just be selling you air instead of fuel. Just wait until your fuel gauge drops to "E" then fill your tank to the brim. When I was using my former car (muscle) a filled tank can carry me the whole month. Cos where I stay to VI was less than 15km. |
The logistics cost of bringing it to Lagos is why it was very expensive in the market. If you buy it at a cheap rate in Kano, and bring it down to Lagos, by the time it hits the market, you'd find yourself selling the same rate as those in the market. To hire a trailer that would transport your goods from Kano to Lagos might cost you up to 600k. When you add the amount you'll settle police, customs, agberos...etc. You'll slide into depression. |
Jonathan's government wasn't as bad as this, yet thousands hit the streets to protest thus forcing the government to reverse subsidy removal. Today some people's salaries isn't even enough to transport them to work for 30 working days, yet they prefer to suffer in silence. Even our Police officers who wouldn't hesitate to teargas protests are even worse. Most of them can't even boast of 20k lying idle in their account. As long as we remain silent, things would continue to get worse, the only language this government understands is violence. ASUU understood this that's why they were able to even get some of their demands met as compared to other federal government parastatls. |
LewisHamilton15:. @bolded. You couldn't even take care of her while you two were together. You promised to pay her whatever she spent, and still couldn't afford to do so. Yet you want to claim a child. Do you know what it takes to train a child in this Tinubu's administration? Do you know how much nursery and primary schools charge these days? You've not even talked about feeding, clothing, medical bills...etc. If you don't have any stable means of income, better leave that girl alone and focus on your life. |
Sell food stuffs....cos no matter how harsh the economy is, people must eat. Get a shop and stock it with rice, beans and garri. Don't sell on credit, no matter how close you are with the customer, if you do, just get ready to start recording losses. If managing a shop is too stressful for you, you can become an online vendor. Run ads on Facebook and Instagram on things like female hairs, makeup, wears, undies, household items, babies and kids wears...etc. Focus on Lagos for now. Once orders have been placed, have your dedicated plug you can always buy from at a cheap rate and resell to your customers. You'll definitely be making reasonable cash. |
From that pairing, if we defeat Angola, we'll play the winner of South Africa vs Cape Verde in the Semi finals. Not bad if you ask me. If Nigeria is serious we should win this tournament, most of the strong teams are already out. |
Love800:You're not getting it...I'd rather pay a professional caterer than have a family member cook for me. How much does a caterer want to charge you, at most 5-7k per plate. Your family member would charge you double the cost of the food so as to make profit, then keep half of it for themselves. Would you call that saving cost? |
In 2021, I did a business with a man in my church. He contacted me to get buyer for him to sell roofing rods that was sent to him from abroad. The rods were much almost filled the warehouse when I went to see it, I was impressed cos it was worth millions. I negotiated my percentage with him, and after days of rigorous calls, I managed to get a buyer. I Introduced the buyer to him and waited patiently for the magic words "Send me your account details" Then this man started showing me his true colours, first he lied to me that the buyer didn't pay, that he (the buyer) just inspected the rods and left...I called and discovered that the buyer indeed paid, (even though he didn't empty the warehouse, made a satisfying buy) And based on the amount the buyer paid and the percentage I negotiated with the man, my cut was supposed to be 200k. I sent him a WhatsApp VN, telling him how disappointed I am with him. That they're the ones always telling we the youths not to be lazy, yet they deprive us of the fruits from the efforts we make. He then told me to borrow him my cut that he has a family emergency to take care of that he'll pay me back. Can you imagine....Since he was the owner of the business, the money was paid into his account by the buyer, so I didn't have much of a choice than to let him have it. Oya pay me back na, uncle no gree. He started telling me that isn't he the one who brought the business, that he has family needs to attend to. Bla bla bla. Oh! So me I don't know what to use money and do abi, 5 months, down the line and this man hasn't given me a penny. I reported him to the pastor because he use to teach Sunday school. After the pastor called and talked to him, he gave me 50k. Oya pay me the remaining 150k...for where, it took another 4 months of calling and texting. He even blocked me on Whatsapp. When I couldn't take it anymore, I just came to his house to para for him. I saw his wife and reported the matter to her, that evening, he sent me 100k. Making it 150k. Till date, he never balanced me the remaining 50k. I just left it for him cos I didn't have the strength to start dragging him for that one again. The truth is that many Nigerians are just greedy. Most of the time, these people would have the resources to pay you, but greed wouldn't allow them do it. |
Love800:If you give the contract to a family member, you'd wish you hadn't. Meat would finish before they even start sharing the food. Most people prefer to hire outsiders cos they'll be answerable to them if anything goes wrong. |
BABANGBALI:Lol |
This year's AFCON is really a shocker. No team wan gree for anybody. ![]() |
EreluRoz:What's your age definition of older men? |
For my wife... If she likes it and wants it...yes. Anything outside my wife...no. |
motta:All these aren't necessary. Just pay someone to cook the food and package in take away plastics, then put in a plastic bag. The bag would contain malt, bottle water, small chops, a smaller Plastic plat of salad and moi moi. 1m can cook you over 50 plates of this kind of food, and you'll still have some reasonable amount of money left. If you negotiate well with a good caterer. You can even tell her to make rice and swallow so that guests can choose their preference. The plastic bags containing the food would shared right there in the church after the white wedding. Everyone would just collect their bags, take pictures with the couple and go home. You've avoided paying for hall, MC, decorations, DJ...etc. |
Seun obviously wanted to give the job to a female. Unfortunately, none of the females who indicated their interest impressed him. |
How others see you doesn't matter. What matters is how you see yourself. |

They are not in Balogun or I didn't encounter them.
