OdefaGirl:I'm not an Abacha defender. But if you believe that Abacha is the only thief that ruled this country, I have nothing more to say to you. |
sangresan:Lol, that was when the going was good. After Ken Saro wiwa's death, they all closed down their embassies. In fact US sanctioned Nigeria. Next time read deeper. |
Hope they won't send southern soldiers there, cos this war is none of our business. |
This is one of the reasons why despite everything people say about Abacha, he still remains one of Nigeria's best leaders for me. During his tenure, US, Britain, France...etc, all closed down their embassies in Nigeria and left. Abacha's children schooled here in Nigeria. Abacha himself never toured Europe and America, he ruled in Nigeria, lived in Nigeria and died in Nigeria. It's good to see other African countries getting rid of European parasites. They don't mean well for you. All they do is come to your country, build their military base, find a way of accessing your resources and ship it back to their country whilst leaving you in abject poverty. |
What is dead may never die! Rip Saint Obi. |
If Tinubu continues this way, he won't have any money to run the government. Imagine having about 70 cabinet members at a time when the country is literally bleeding. How would their salaries be paid? |
I'll say yes, then she'll go and see my parents and collect marriage and groom price list. She'll bear 100% of the marital expenses in both the traditional and with wedding respectively. After the wedding, I'll remain the head of the home and she'll bear my name. |
SGL1:There's a saying in the business world that Nigerians don't refund money. An electronics dealer would rather advise you to add some money and get a more expensive product if the one he sold to you wasn't good than give you a refund. Same with a phone dealer and a car dealer. So the issue of that woman making a transfer to your account is total out of question. She wouldn't do that, in fact you'll have to keep your eyes open or else she'll rent out that house to another tenant and still wouldn't give you a refund. About fixing the roof in January, that's a lie from the pit of hell, cos January is dry season. Roofs are usually fixed or repaired during rainy season so you can easily detect and fix the bad spots. Besides, it would be easier for you to know if the carpenter did a good job cos rain would definitely fall within 48 hours of him finishing the job. If she's saying January, it means she has no intentions of fixing that roof. |
scoobyblogspot:But that's where I'm coming from. For me to drive to that spot where the road is blocked, means that backwards is much safer. |
Please I want to ask. The oil Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar... etc has, is the same oil we have here in Nigeria? Cos with the kind of oil and other mineral resources we have in this country, it's almost impossible to believe that Nigeria has one of the lowest GDP per capita in the world. It's citizens are languishing in abject poverty. |
I'll hit the brakes, put the car on reverse, drive backwards on top speed until I get to a safe spot, then reverse properly and get the hell outta there, cos it's obvious that kidnappers are lurking in the bushes. |
There are some rules to adhere strictly to when searching for a house in Nigeria. 1. Always look at the ceilings and walls of each of the rooms in the house. A wall or ceiling that's constantly being exposed to rains would have a different colour from the other parts of the wall or ceiling. 2. Go on weekends or in the evenings to check out the property. That way, you'll meet with adults who would tell you the pros and cons of the house. 3. No matter how the agent mounts pressure on you, never be in a hurry to make payment until you've confirmed that the house is good and doesn't have any issues. On how to collect back your money, I'm afraid that there's nothing you can do rather than to wait for someone else to rent the house. Cos even if you choose to involve the police, the money was paid into the bank account of the landlady who isn't in Nigeria so there's nothing the lawyer can do. Alternatively, you can call a carpenter to have a look at it and tell you the total cost, if it's within your ability, you can call the landlady to inform her that you'll be fixing the roof and she should deduct it from your next rent if she agrees. Have the lawyer sign an undertaking with his letter head bearing the name of his firm that the money you spent on the roof would be deducted from your next rent. Once that is done, you can fix the roof and move in ASAP. |
What are they protesting against? They tribalized the just concluded election, they should enjoy the fruits of their labour. |
Bloomberriez:So what do we do if greedy sellers starts swapping non inverter ACs into cartons of inverter ACs so as to sell them more expensive to unsuspecting buyers? |
Dcass:In 2021, my pastor announced to the church to raise money for a sister in the choir who's shop got burnt. Members were able to raise a reasonable amount of money for her and she was able to rent another shop and stock it. Sometimes being an active member of big churches, social clubs, associations... etc, comes with its own advantages. Cos as a member, your group would definitely go the extra mile to ensure that you're back on your feet if anything happens to you. Dcass:To this your question, the answer is very simple. You said you have the skill already, what's stopping you from going to standard tailoring (fashion) shops to look for jobs. If you must know having a machine without building strong customer base is as good as not having a machine at all, cos no one knows or has seen your work. And clients rarely give their expensive material to tailors they know nothing about. They prefer to patronize the ones they're already familiar with. But when you work, you'll have the opportunity of building your personal clients, cos your boss would definitely entrust clients materials to you. So by the time you raise enough money to purchase your own sewing machine, you won't have to start struggling for clients, you would already have a number of loyalist to build from. All you have to do is to message them the address of your new shop and they'll come with their friends to patronize you. If you're waiting for a stranger on Nairaland to give you 95k in this Tinubu's era, you had better wake up from your slumber. |
Dcass:What about your church. Like meeting your pastor privately for help? |
She came all the way from Calabar for a surprise visit without buying common bread or even banana and still had the guts to finish the last milk in the house...what kind of liability was he even dating? She should come an see how her mates stock their guy's refrigerators from their pocket on monthly basis. That girl might be above 25, but she's not matured yet, dating or marrying an immature and entitled girl is one of the fastest way to die before your time. The guy did the right thing by calling off the engagement. Such red flag shouldn't be ignored. Cos that girl wouldn't mind starving him to death if he looses his job and she's the one providing for the home. As a guy, any girl who can't make sacrifices or spend her own money on you isn't someone you should even consider for marriage. Cos love is meant to be reciprocated, if it isn't, then you're the only one in the marriage loving yourself. |
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! |
Hotfreeze:A billionaire paying his company driver 40k per month. That's wickedness. |
Hotfreeze:What's someone who's salary is 40k doing with a car? |
