Lol...this op is funny..like someone said. It would take hours for a house to burn to that level. So there should be pictures of the house while it was on fire. Also the op should take a picture close the house like another person suggested. There are so many scammers these days. So it's very difficult to know who's telling the truth. Anyways...I want to drop this piece here for young people cos this is one of the reasons I do tell young people to be active in church. I've witnessed this incident in my church twice and those two times, the pastor made an open announcement to the church and members rented another accommodation for the people. The second person was a family man, someone even bought him a set of new cushion chairs, another gave him flat screen TV. In fact the speed at which they put him back on his feet, made him shed tears when he came to thank the church. If you know you're broke and things are hard, try and belong somewhere, so that when things like this happens, you'll have people who would come to your aid. Our leaders don't care. |
sweetrace:Lol...I've worked in an office and I can tell you with all confidence that office girls are not exempted from depending on men. Many of them beg their male colleagues for lunch, some rely on their male colleagues with cars for transportation assistance, of which they wouldn't even contribute a penny to assist him with fuel despite him carrying them to their closest bus stop year in year out. Even the ones in relationships aren't left out, they literally look up to their guys for almost everything. I've dated an office girl before so I can tell you first hand that there isn't much difference between them and their jobless counterpart. Only a handful of them are independent and wouldn't depend on their guy for survival. To most Nigerian girls, depending on men for survival has nothing to do with being jobless. Most girls just believe that it's a man's responsibility to take care of them, shower them with gifts, spend of them...etc. so whether or not she's working, she has already programmed herself to be on the receiving end in any relationship she finds herself in. |
GloriousGbola:Abi? I was expecting them to notify me through SMS. It's well anyways, I've learned my lesson. |
This is a good advise, but the problem here is that so many Nigerian girls program themselves to depend on men for literally everything. You'll be shocked to discover that some 35-40 year old girls still call guys to beg them for irrelevant things like money to eat, money to make hair, assistance in paying rent, assistance in business...etc. How then do you expect such person to singlehandedly raise a child, pay school fees, buy clothes, drugs when sick, take the child out for weekends...etc? It's very rare to see a successful single mom in Nigeria who works hard and takes care of her kids without depending on anyone. Many single mothers out there depend on prostitution, others keep a handful of men who would be supporting them from time to time, not knowing that such act would definitely have a negative impact on the child. So for me, I'll say, if you're a lady between 35-40, unmarried and still depending on male support, avoid bringing any child into this world, cos with this our horrible economy, you obviously cannot rely on begging to train your chid. |
pocohantas:Lol... sometimes exchanging words with people can be brain draining. You're trying to explain something, someone would carry his depression and dump on you. I don taya. 😒 |
I don't know why Africans are so addicted to poverty. You have 3kids already and you're still planning to get married to someone who has shown you that she's not ready to shoulder any kind or form of responsibility and you would probably have 3-4 more kids with her. Have you asked yourself how you intend to train 7 children in this economy without any kind or form of support? You have no business with marriage. If you're a responsible and loving father, your concern should be your children, and how you'll cater for them. |
blaquemyc:Why are you directing your anger towards me, did I tell you that my parents are living in an uncompleted building and I'm waiting for them to die before renovating it? I only answered the question that was asked, cos it's common with most average and below average Igbos. And would you blame them, most of them are struggling to cater for their families in the city, so renovating a property they might not visit for years might be a waste of resources to the considering how the economy is. If you want to singlehandedly renovate your parents house, no one is stopping you. But passing judgement on others for not doing so without knowing if they can afford to do it is very wrong. Besides as a parent, it's myopic for your retirement plan to be your children. Cos they too might have their own responsibilities that's weighing them down. |
In Igboland, parents are buried by their children in their house. So it would be disgraceful to the children of all the guests arrive and the house is looking like something that barely made it out the Biafran war. That's why they try to renovate it and upgrade the look. |
Calitoscassius:I'm not applying for a job on Airpeace. I booked a 6:50am flight, which they changed unexpectedly. The email I provided when booking the flight wasn't the email linked to my phone, so I didn't get any notification of the mail they sent. They should have at least communicated to us via SMS since the delay was from them. |
fineberry:And you lived off campus in a student lodge? |
Amazondepth:Na their way be that. The worst is they'll send you an email concerning the delay, knowing that most people barely check their emails. How much would it cost them to send their customers an SMS to notify them of the delayed flight and apologize for the inconveniences? Very disorganized people. That's how they delayed my flight earlier this year. Rather than send me a text message, they sent me an email to notify me of the delay. Unfortunately I had already used Uber to go to the airport as early as 6:20am cos it was 6:50am flight. Only to get there and they told me that the flight has been delayed till 4pm. I was just weak. |
fineberry:Did you school in a private university? |
Acidosis:I'm just glad they didn't accuse obidients of writing that name. |
fineberry:Don't tell me that your lodge mate hasn't knocked on your room by 12am to ask if you have condom. Na normal thing for student hostel. |
The thing here is that girls hardly delete numbers of guys who asked them out. They keep it and use it to manipulate them into assisting them either in the present or future. There's no reason to get angry, if I were you I would have just read the message and ignored her. Your silence alone would have been the perfect response to her. |
fineberry:It's during my schooling days I experienced this in my lodge. Someone must knock on your door to borrow either onion, Maggi, pepper, matches, indomine, garri, gas cooker, pure water, condom...etc. ![]() Students sha Sabi borrow. |
Curse777:Nope it's not. Colonels actually do write exams and have to pass them before becoming brigadier generals. It's from Major general that I'll agree is political. |
Curse777:Brigadier General not Colonel. |
IconicR:Then you're safe. |
IconicR:Croaker fish and catfish is farmed here in Nigeria. Infact, catfish are sold life. So they're fresh. I'm talking about fishes that are imported and stored in cold rooms. |
prettyangel10:Your BVN cannot be used to access funds in your account. Your BVN is more like your Bio data. As for the OTP, if you gave it to them, I'll suggest you immediately contact your bank. Go to Google and search for the customer service number and call them asap. Alternatively, you can delete the app from your phone and deactivate your ATM card. That way, they would require another from OTP to re-access your account. |
IconicR:Ice fish isn't healthier than fresh meat. Most of those fishes, stay in cold rooms for over 7 months, during which power failure, faulty generators...etc would affect it's texture, thus making them unfit for consumption. I read somewhere that the lifespan of frozen fish shouldn't exceed 5 months. Unfortunately, in Nigeria, there is no authority to enforce that law so merchants can even store their imported fishes for up to a year, meaning it would exceed it's shelf life by the time it gets to the retailers and then consumers like you and I. So technically, we're eating poison. May God save us. |
Nigerian women worship money. As long as you have lots and lots of it, they won't mind being your 20th wife. Most of them attacking 2face, would happily spread their legs for him if the opportunity presents itself not minding that he's a married man, but would attack and blame him for sleeping with other women. I saw a post on a popular Facebook group I belong to where someone asked "would you prefer a wealthy womanizer or a faithful broke husband". I was shocked when more than 90% of the replies from the females said they would go for the wealthy womanizer. That what do they want with a broke faithful husband. Who faithfulness help. Our girls are just hypocrites that's all. They crucify married men for womanizing, but would openly agree to marry a womanizer provided he's financially loaded. Thus encouraging him to continue womanizing. To your question Nigerian women are not against polygamy, they're infact the major facilitators of polygamy. |
jetwonder:Do they sell laptops in alaba? I thought alaba was for electronics and computer village was for phones and laptops? |
OdefaGirl:Abacha lost his international privileges after executing Ken Sarwo Wiwa. This was because, the international community begged him to spare him, even the Pope came to Nigeria to talk to Abacha. But Abacha killed him along with some of his said conspirators. After the execution, the US placed several sanctions on Nigeria, making it impossible for senior military officers to travel to the west. As for his loot, Oyibo people don't reason like we Africans. That money was a boost to their economy, so they allowed it. |
With our overcrowded population, companies are moving out of this British experiment in their numbers, thus plunging more people into the unemployment market. Yet people are still defending the very leaders who are making their lives miserable. |
I was listening to one of IBB's old interviews with channels TV on YouTube...and he said something that struck me. He said soldiers usually take advantage of a collapsing economy to stage a coup. And most times the masses wouldn't protest cos they're feeling the heat of the economy, and would welcome them (the soldiers) with open arms with the hope that things would change for their good. I also read an interview of a former chief of army staff Gen Dambazu here on Nairaland who said some powerful northern retired generals told him to overthrow Jonathan when Yar'adua died, but he choose not to follow their advice cos he felt that Nigeria would face serious sanctions from the West if he does it. Tinubu should understand this. He literally witnessed all the coups in Nigeria from January 1966 till Diya's I'll fated coup of December 1997. Nigeria isn't Lagos. If he tries to monopolize power, he might loose that seat. He shouldn't give the military any reason to come back. I know so many people might say they would prefer the military. But we should know that the military we have now is totally different from the crop that ruled Nigeria back then. Our army is highly politicalized. Meaning there wouldn't be any difference between them and our current crop of corrupt politicans. |
Baba don finally join cele church. ![]() |
sageb:Imagine putting an apostrophe when spelling your name. Looks weird to me. Since they're Igbos, he could have just have just named the child Ikechukwu which still means God's power. |
If Nigeria ladies want to scale through this round, they have to improve on their game against England. Creat chances, hold onto possession and convert those chances to goals. Our performance against Ireland was very poor. |
