Some of us have successfully become hypocrites no thanks to dis govt. If there's a bribery and corruption allegation against anyone from d opposition, we want to swallow hook, line and sinker. But if similar allegations surface against the ruling govt and it's party members, it's simply a fallacy and most of us would scream conspiracy to high heavens. Wen would we realise most of these allegations and stories are jus a battle for supremacy between politicians because both the ruling and d opposition are all one and d same ppl.

wat other scenarios is the US not used as a reference. give an example. they are a developed country and whatever goes on there, directly or indirectly affects us. so tell me Why they cant be used as a reference point?

My point is we are willing to make these references wen it favours us but to hell with wat dey stand for wen it dey negate our actions. Take an example on most of the govt's actions so far. Can any of these govts repeatedly disobey and ignore court orders? Would any of these govts actually make arrests without as much as having evidences or even having carried out investigations first? Would any of these govts make arrests without having as much as an arrest warrant? Why won't we also make references to these other govts wen our govt does d exact opposite of wat these other govts would have done. My comment is borne out of the fact dat most ppl only make these references wen it's convenient for their arguments.

I don't know about the authenticity of the news but d way some of u are always quick to point to scenarios in the US in particular and some other world powers is baffling. U always use examples from the US and other western powers in situations where u need to justify SOME actions but yet fail to do so in justifying other actions because "We're not there yet". Every working system is as a result of a smooth running of all it's key components. U shld as well b ready to cite these same nations as examples wen there is a public outcry for some other actions of the govt. I clearly remember one of the govt spokesperson saying nothing was exchanged in return for the gals which we all knew was a big fat lie in the first place.
