i think, i need to wait for the 7am GEJ's broadcast before i set out towards freedom park (Ojota), cus we can't afford to end this fight the way they want it! For me i have weigh my options and have decided to keep fight up. Reason is that for me and my like minds, it's nolonger about 65 naira pump price but Transperancy and Accountability in Govt and Govt MDA's. If NLC backs down, i wouldn't back down!

my follow Nairalanders, as much as i don't support the removal fuel Subsidy without actually coming down hard on the corrupt petrol officials and the marketers, but the Govt instead took a simpler route to impovrishing the poor more!

Politics / Re: NLC Cannot Embark On Strike-national Industrial Court by ndigbo: 10:10pm On Jan 06, 2012
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has assured Nigerians that the mass rallies scheduled for next Monday will go on, and urged them to ignore the rumours of a ‘black market’ injunction possibly purchased by the Goodluck Jonathan government from the National Industrial Court (NIC). “The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is not aware of any such injunction, we were not served any paper of court appearance, we were not present in court nor were we represented in any capacity,” said Acting Secretary General Owei Lakemfa, in a statement.  “Also, the NLC was not served any court summons nor were we served any court order.” He urged the Jonathan administration to listen to the people or face their justifiable wrath.  He observed of the government, “They cannot make the simple analysis that the whole populace is angry and that Nigerians do not need any group to ask them to protest an evil policy that seeks to impoverish them. He pointed out that the forces outlined in the country are simply the Nigerian People against the Jonathan Government, and is not an industrial relations one, or between an employer and an employee. “So if the issue was taken before the National Industrial Court, then it is the wrong place to shop for a black market injunction,” he said.  “To obtain an injunction from a court that has no competent jurisdiction is to try playing ping pong with the judiciary.” He reminded everyone that the constitutional and fundamental right of Nigerians to protest cannot be annulled.

Politics / Re: Fela Durotoye On Fuel Subsidy Removal: Brilliant! by ndigbo: 9:51pm On Jan 06, 2012
I have told anyone who cared to listen, that i personally wouldn't be going to Protest Fuel Subsidy on monday, but the under listed!

A contract of N7 bn ($43.75m) awarded for the VP's new residence and an additional N9 bn ($56.25m) is being requested to complete it.
They disburse N250 billion per year in ‘security votes’ to the President and Governors and they can spend it as they choose.
Almost N1 trillion allocated to security last year with nothing to show for it.

Items in the 2012 budget:
approximately N1 billion for ‘feeding’ the President and the Vice-President
N1.7 trillion wage bill for the Federal Government
N675 million on power related expenses at the Villa and VP’s residence
N1 billion on miscellaneous expenses which include honorarium & sitting allowances; welfare packages and publicity & advertisements.
N11.25 billion on foreign travels.
These expenses are criminal and unsustainable.

While we understand that N1.3 trillion is a lot of money, the fact remains that not all of it was spent on the subsidy. The government itself admits the process is fraught with holes and run inefficiently, however, rather than deal with the corruption in the system, the government has taken the lazy option without any thought to cut its own costs.

Politics / Re: Bomb Explodes In Maiduguri Boko Haram Factory & Killed 3 by ndigbo: 5:20pm On Dec 18, 2011
henryskywalker2003:

This news is sounding a bit fishy on some of the details. Am not disputing the fact that there was an explosion and it could actually be from the said boko haramist but think for a moment about this. The explosion killed them and destroyed the house yet they still found "explosive substances in containers and already wired drums of explosives" that didn't go off in a chain reaction to the initial blast or to the resulting fire. I think JTF and GEJ is trying to use this incident to their advantage cos lately, the haramists themselves have been quiet for a while. I think GEJ wants to use this incident as a propaganda to push forward his proposed budget allocation for security.
Just my 2c sha.

you beat me to this post! It couldn't have been better!

Romance / Re: All "players" Get Caught! True Or False by ndigbo: 12:39pm On Dec 17, 2011
coogar:

not all players get caught - or lemme simply say the notorious players don't get caught.
only the amateurs, wannabes or the pseudo-players get caught.
the notorious players are professional about their tasks - they come out of their venture unharmed and undiscovered!

the notorious players plan, plot, strategise and calculate the risks to the 5th decimal place.
if the venture would expose him, he wouldn't even go into it. every move has been mapped out and he knows his escape route even before he starts the project.

in the end, you would just hear myths & rumours. . . .nothing concrete!
their escapades can only be whispered under the breaths of their victims.
the fact is - a real player can't be caught.

you are just right on point! angry

Politics / Re: Subsidy Removal:GEJ Ready For Mass Revolt by ndigbo: 7:43am On Dec 12, 2011
if we take note here, the percentage of us calling for REVOLUTION is critically on the high, but the truth of the matter remains that we Nigerians sadly Very docile people! We prefer suffering, smiling and complianing to God forgetting that he(God) wouldn't do practically every thing for us! We need to put efforts in registering our stand to this Government that seem to have lost contact with the general Public who put them there. The only way out (my personal view) is MASS PROTEST! But again i fear for my country men they would never raise to the occassion! Imagine a poster saying he will have to stock his kitchen should in case those of us jeering for revolt would make true our stand!

Politics / Re: Can We Have Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland? by ndigbo: 7:00pm On Dec 04, 2011
NRI PRIEST:

@POINTB,EZEUCHE,(should be disqualified. Reason; There a comment he made about the Aro involvement in the "SLAVE TRADE" which was very arrogant and demeaning. He foolishly boasted that the Aros where superior because they conquered a lot of Igbo towns and took people captive and sold them into "SLAVERY". He was asked to apologise for it but he refused and stated it makes him proud!! That guy doesnt have the DECORUM of a noble man!!  I will not regonize him if you guys go ahead and crown that fool!!
He is not remorseful about uninteligent and atrocities of his weak foolish forefathers who sold their fellow neighbors into SLAVERY and brag about it!!
Ezeuche,must me DISQUALIFIED now!!
If you crown that fool I will not cease to make mockery of you guys and constantly disrespect and insult him.

Andre Uweh and Onlytruth are our target.

Like I said earlier, the only reason why IFYALWAYS name should be there is only if you are forming an organization where you need a "chaiman" or "chairperson". I am of NRI lineage and our tradition reads against crowning women kings!!!

@ EzeUche i will urge you to publicly apologise to us all for being proud of the ARO's putting thier fellow humans thru Slave Trade for whatever reason might have had! You really have to show that you are equal and above tasks that would be accrued to you or whom ever finally get the title of Eze Ndigbo Nairaland.
