I wont be surprised if Uwem Akpan takes home the prize. Lets see what goes on. |
Why would anybody relocate to Maryland, because of the opportunity to have a Nigerian channel on your television? That one pass me! |
Wao, I wont mind working for ECOWAS, though not as a messenger, if I moved back to Nigeria. Working in an organization dedicated to uplifting West Africa's economy is admirable. |
Nigeria is home for me. I miss the tranquility, the bustling activities of my homeland, the rapport, even amongst strangers, the lights out, where I would stay outside listening to folktalkes. I miss eating suya, playing with my siblings, watching Television, playing with my friends outside, and sneaking back in, minutes before my parents returned from work. Perhaps, I am living in the past, but I am aware of the changing environment, but people are surviving back home. Nigeria is home for me! ![]() |
I mean, do you really consider it a coincidence that Jesus Christ fulfilled all these prophecies, pertaining to the Messiah? I dont believe in coincidences. things happen for a reason! |
@seun, your posts reeks of ignorance and blasphemy! The lady has yet to make up her mind, and I advised her, that she should concentrate on having a relationship with God, who would then lead her to the right partner. What exactly is your problem with Christianity? |
Let your relationship with Jesus Christ take precedence over this courtship. He will lead you into a better relationship. |
Car before house in Yankee? Says who@mp007. I'd think the opposite is the case that you just summed up. In America, housing is sort of on the luxury side, hence the hordes of homeless people, back home, shelter is not that much of a problem, if you live in a city, so you can save up and buy a car. But either way, shelter takes priority, whether in yankee or naija. |
Not coercion, that's just my personal views. |
Either you convert to my religion (Christianity), or no marriage! |
Shelter before a ride. As the adage goes, a man's house, (not Lamborghini) is his castle. |
In addition to establishing good roads and industries in a city, tourism is a catalyst for the future economic growth of any society. Tourism is the mainstay of Kenya's economy and their economy is more robust than ours, where we are solely dependent on oil. Nothing wrong in exploring other alternatives. Economically, I'd say Duke was a visionary leader. |
Wao, what a name, Uyayak, dont know what it is, but used to hear about it. It is a spice that my people, the Ibibios use for preparing their meals, like soup. |
It is always the woman's 'fault' back home when there are no kid(s) in the marriage. I think that Africans need to wake up to the reality that it is not entirely their fault, but there are other factors involved. And I dont think that marriage should come to an end due to childlessness. Have faith in God! |
Militia, what is your problem with Duke? Is it his duty to build hospitals for the likes of Stella Obasanjo (R.I.P) and the ousted governor of Bayelsa, solely for their cosmetic vanities? Calabar, from my understanding is undergoing an economic renaissance courtesy of the projects that Duke laid in place. Can you say so for your own state? |
Both parents own the child, but the heritage of the child is traced through the father, not the mother. The child bears the father's last name, and their heritage is traced through the father. |
Why are some of us afraid of Nigerians in that Dallas/Houston area, and the DMV area? I'd like to think that living amongst Nigerians is more fun than living apart from them. |
It was quite shocking when I read the news on the internet. Tragedy has really been on the trail of some of these wrestlers. |
I prefer automatic, anytime, any day. Manual is too complicated. |
Mustay, dont even compare those two, tatoo and tribal marks are completely different. One involves the deep laceration of the skin, that is visible, while the other is less visible. |
Moreso, I have noticed is that some Nigerian guys, when they arrive in the US, they start behaving like rappers, trying to yarn rap/ebonics, sporting cornrows, all acting thuggish. Rap music is associated with negativity, and were it for me, their CD's would be garnering dust at Tower records. |
Yeah, it burns fuel, from what I heard, but its purpose is to refresh you, during the stifling heat. Dont you want to drive in comfort during heat, knowing fully well that your gas would eventually run out, AC or no AC? |
I have zero respect for rap/hip hop music. |
Now, who is telling the truth? |
Vanessa Williams' the former beauty queen had her brother, Chris as her best man, during her wedding to Rick Fox. |
Interesting question. I have also observed that too. Francophone countries appear to be totally reliant on France for the growth of their economy, while their Anglophone counterpart are striving for self reliance. A glaring example would be to compare Ghana with Ivory Coast. While the former has almost succeeded in making a turn around in their once gloomy economy, thereby undergoing a renaissance, Ivory Coast, is now a shadow of its former past. |
Even the title of the novel is disrespectful, but Achebe is not the author. |
Nice. |
I had a school mate who went by the alias, "Mutee". The guy was rival with a junior student, who was trying to establish himself as the school's musician. |
