naptu2: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/jega-promises-credible-guber-election-anambra/This is quite different from essentially arresting El Rufai. There is no excuse for what SSS and GEJ did to the man in his hotel room. |
It is clear that PDP and APGA have teamed up to stop Ngige by using state tools controlled by Obi and federal muscle orchstrated by GEJ. If Ngige pulls this off and wins, PDP and GEJ should start making arrangements for relocation out of Abuja come 2015 or earlier. |
The rigging process has been activated and even Dora Akunyili is warning publicly that the system must not be made to disenfranchise anybody. She told journalist at Agulu after her accreditation at Agulu Ward 2, Unit 002, that’s she is worried about the inadequacy of the Independent National Electoral Commission personnel to man the polling units. She said the requirement which compels every would be voter to be present not beyond 12.30pm for the purposes of counting was not in the interest of the system as many may not be able to come back after accreditation at exactly 12.30pm. El Rufai's constitutional right to free movement is being infringed upon to thwart his election monitoring activities. GEJ and Obi are not leaving any stone untouched in their attempt to stop Ngige. Desperation is the only explanation for arresting official election observers. Results in a few hours, but I wouldn't be surprised at whatever results we are given. I fully expect this election winner to be determined by the courts. |
This is definitely FP material. |

PhysicsQED: Regarding #5, I think that I mentioned this a long time ago on a thread where me and Katsumoto discussed this coup, but it's already known that multiple members of the federal and regional governments were aware of an imminent coup - that Zik chose to stay away when given the opportunity might mean that he knew that his position as president made it especially unlikely that he would survive such a coup (had it been carried out successfully), but it doesn't mean that he stayed away because he had in-depth, secret knowledge of the particulars of the coup beforehand, or that he had private discussions with the coup plotters beforehand. That would just be guessing/insinuation, butI don't buy the explanations given above including the one by Max Siollun, a well known biafra sympathizer. Katsumoto's thoughts make more sense than those expressed above. Ifeajuna's (Zik's cousin) ethnic cleansing was unmistakeable. |
I couldn't resist posting this quote by katsumoto, who finds a way to truth when he is not otherwise defending Awo's misdeeds.
I am not here to win any awards. I will only tell it like I see it. I have argued, based on the literature that I have read over the years, that there were two factions in that Jan coup. Nzeogwu and Ademoyega provided the noble 'we are going to get rid of the rot in Nigeria' end while Ifeajuna and others were on an ethnic mission. I give my reasons 1. Nzeogwu was recruited by Anuforo and Nzeogwu recruited Ademoyega. Ademoyega was the last to be recruited while Nzeogwu was the second to last. It is conceivable that Nzeogwu and Ademoyega were not privy to earlier agreements and plans 2. Nzeogwu's socialist views were well known before the coup. He had gotten into trouble with senior officers who were concerned about his very vociferous views. 3. The selective manner of carrying out the assasinations. No one has ever said that Okotie-Eboh, Akintola, Bello, Balewa, etc were saints but in the first four years of the government, there were Northern and Eastern members in the coalition. The position that there were no corrupt Igbo pliticians is laughable. 4. The constitutional crisis of January 65 which resulted in Zik being told the limit of his powers after he tried to use the military to dissolve the government. 5. Zik's disappearance from Nigeria while his cousin Ifeajuna carried out an ethnic cleansing. Zik's disappearance all the more curious considering that Nigeria was hosting its first Commonwealth PM's conference and Zik was Head of State. Also, Zik's personal physician leaving Zik in the caribbean after running out of patience with a healthy patient who refused to return home. 6. The killing of non-Igbo officers while Igbo officers (except for Unegbe) were spared. 7. After killing Balewa, Ifeajuna traveled to Enugu to see Michael Okpara (Eastern Region Premier) in the early hours of the 14th before escaping to Ghana. I have provided evidence to support this before, if you want to see it again, I can oblige you.
|
I dey laugh o. |
Shouldn't we welcome any action which gives opportunity for full participation in the electoral process, to Anambrarians? Woouldn't all parties benefit from this? |
Bribery is wrong and extortion is damned wrong. On the other hand, most of you people can't feed your dogs on the salaries of these low level policemen, let alone your family of 2 or 4. In the meantime, the funding which could have gone into better salaries for important professions as Police and Army, are being extorted and shipped abroad by your leaders, while you low lifers are left to villify yourselves, while they are vacationing in Dubai and Aruba. Someone said "Like father like son", but I think its more accurate to say "Like Godfather like son" where OBJ is the godfather and GEJ the son. Either way, the father, godfather, and all sons, belong in jail. Nonesense!! |
Eziachi: Well, if you were around in 60s you may understand why that generation of Igbo and Yoruba like me were programmed to believe that they are brothers. Please be show clarity when you inform us about past conditions. I am sure you do not mean that you were programmed to believing that Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa people were brothers. The truth of the matter is that you people lived as brothers and sisters! No one programmed that. |
For once, put the typical |
All criminals must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. These arrests remind me of the arrest of IBB's son when OBJ felt threatened by IBB. Mohammed, IBB's son, did not spend a single day in jail. |
If this is a prelude to 2015, we need to lobby our legislators ASAP to pass a law which will enable absentee voting. That option would come in very handy. ![]() |
I don't believe the naivety of many of you people. This story has too many holes as it is, and it is difficult to reach a rational conclusion about the truth of the matter. I'll simply state that, anyone who thinks that APGA, PDP, or even APC, is planning to play by the rules with 100% certainty in Anambra, should have his/her head examined. Each one of these parties will go to any length including using hoodlums and rigging, to win this election. May God preserve the lives of our youths who will be used as foot soldiers for miserly (N5000 - N1000), because they have no jobs or hope. |
Arysexy: nduchucks u want the truth to be hidden? google cud help u. that thread should be on FP by nowI stand corrected but you must admit that the OP on that thread did not provide a source as at the time of my post. The only apology should come from you for falsely accusing me of trying to silence the truth, but I don't expect that kind of decency from you. Enjoy. BTW: I wouldn't have complained about a story such as this one which was not distorted and contains a verifiable link. |
May I suggest that you kids take your effeminate cat fights out of this thread? Old men acting like kids, shame on you. |
Dear Mods, Thanks for a great job in keeping this section sane. While hiding posts and banning offending posters are good tools, I believe you also need to move certain threads to the dust bin or lock them permanently. NL has become a great source for news to many of us, and a thread which posts outright lies and deceit as news, should be removed as quickly as offensive posts are hidden or offenders are banned. Please trake a look at this thread and do the needful. What is projected as news on that thread cannot be verified on any news outlet. Cheers, Ndu_Chucks |
Most of you would want law enforcement agents to give you a break or the benefit of the doubt when caught driving without correct particulars, so you should be ashamed for being the judge and jury for this police officer, who is charged to protect you, by the way. How are you sure that he did not roll up tobacco to save of cost of cigarettes? Many of these fine officers have given their lives to protect you. Not all of them are criminals. Give the man a break! Most of you who have concluded that what you see in the pic is weed, are most likely d ope heads and weed smokers anyway. |
Prof Corruption: 1. Don't deviate and argue in an obtuse manner. Akintola could have said anything to justify his position against the party. Where is the evidence to support that? You said Awolowo interfered with his government, the onus is on you to justify that. Provide the evidence! Who did Awolowo ask him to put in his cabinet? Name names!Oga, stop dribbling yourself. Answer the question you were asked: please tell us specific actions by Akintola or point out Akintola's policies which you considered against party interest. What specific policies of Akintola violated party principles? Its OK to say you don't have an answer. Maybe Katsumoto will come and bail you out soon. I'm surprised you haven't posted 6 or more smilieys as you do when you run out of ideas. ![]() |
Prof Corruption: 1. how would you censure a leader who violates party manifesto/ideology in parliamentary system? Yorubas did not elect Akintola directly as premier. His mandate to lead came from AG, the party that reposed confidence in him to execute its policies and manifesto. Since Akintola was against his party's ideology, he had a choice: resign. It was between him and AG. He lost the confidence of majority of AG members and was subsequently removed.^^story story. According to Akintola himself, rather than face his task in the House of Reps, Awolowo was behaving as though he was still the Premier of the West, dictating who should be appointed to what cabinet position, what policy should be on the government's agenda and how decisions should be taken. Akintola refused to be a puppet and this was the genesis of Awo's attack. You keep saying that Akintola was removed for ideological reasons, please tell us specific actions by Akintola or point out Akintola's policies which you considered against party interest. The excuse you are making for Awo, is a ruse. I am waiting for you to be specific - it is not enough to state that Akintola was working against party interests without providing a single shred of evidence. We don't believe you and your ilk, prove that Akintola did those things or go away. Akintola like Tinubu understands the importance of puting personal ambition above selfish interests unlike Awo. Deal with it. |
@seyi, I highlighted siilarities which had and would have great historical ramifications, if people would calm down and read carefully. I'm a bit busy today but I'll be back to talk about how the whole country is paying for Awos's selfish ambition of becoming the President instead of building bridges like Akintola tried to do, and Tinubu is currently doing. GEJ is getting ready to do the same thing - this kind of history should not repeat itself. BTW, you can open a thread on GEJ/AWO dissimilarities. You will write tire. |
Katsumoto: Ok Alhaji. What is the real issue? You have to be honest now. Please educate me on how anyone's 'fixation' on Awo can affect elections in Anambra. Please be frank. ![]() |
Katsumoto, I find it interesting that you decided to use an interview given by sam Aluko, a well known and unrepentant Awoist, to support your position, yet you ignored Akintola's own account on Awo's interferance in his governance as reported by an unbiased author. Go and read pages 89-90 of the book whose link I posted for a balanced view. I will in due time address the last point as i promised, but be warned that many outsiders are reading your posts. I was shocked to see that even well known bloggers can see through your antics. Imaging the accurate write-up about your userid here. Akanbi_edu, why are you paying so much attention to me. se mo gba buredi yin ni? ![]() |
Wow, na wa for the last few pages. One of the golden rules of marketing and business 101 is "Perception Is Reality", thus if one is marketing a very effective pharmaceutical for instance, and the consumers believe that the drug is giving them headache everytime they use it, though the headache may be self inflicted, the sales figure on the drug will invariably fall. The bottom line is, very many posters have a negative perception of sexkillz, and something needs to change if Seun understands the principles of marketing I described above. It is actually silly to ask for evidence in this case when the perception is crystl clear, and as they say, perception is reality. Seun seems to believe that with the help of OAM4J, sexkillz can change his rude manner of communicating with forumites. I am sorry to say that it is very unfair to ask sexkillz to change his personality or who he is, because he wants to be a moderator. It is not possible to change a tiger's tigritude without a major medical procedure and/or constant administration of heavy drugs. Any change will have to come from sexkillz himself. I'm of the opinion(not that it counts) that sexxkillz should be left as a moderator, on the condition that he controls his tongue and be respectful to users of this section. The least sexkills can do is to help Seun by making an immediate change to his way of communicating and if he is unwilling to do that, he should graciously resign. There is no need to, on the one hand, please your boss by helping to reduce bigoted posts and threads, while on the other hand, you destroy the goodwill of Seun's clients, with silly and childish remarks. A word or two is good enough for the wise. ![]() |
TerraCotta: Yup--all you have to do is shun myths and baseless rumours, pick up a few books, read and understand Nigerian political history and economy, and I'm fairly confident you'd be an Awolowo admirer too.I took you up on your offer, and I found this quote by Awo, and I am not impressed: “But when I went what did I see? I saw the kwashiorkor victims. If you see a kwashiorkor victim you’ll never like war to be waged. Terrible sight, in Enugu, in Port Harcourt, not many in Calabar, but mainly in Enugu and Port Harcourt. Then I enquired what happened to the food we were sending to the civilians. We were sending food through the Red Cross, and CARITAS to them, but what happen was that the vehicles carrying the food were always ambushed by the soldiers. That’s what I discovered, and the food would then be taken to the soldiers to feed them, and so they were able to continue to fight. And I said that was a very dangerous policy, we didn’t intend the food for soldiers. … So I decided to stop sending the food there. In the process, the civilians would suffer, but the soldiers suffered most. –Chief Obafemi Awolowo.I couldn't believe what I was reading. SMH |
Katsumoto: Are you done with your comparison? Do you still have other points you want to raise?I am yet to address one more point. In a couple of hours or later I will show you why Awo's selfishness is responsible for the corrupt climate and the backward condition which we find ourselves in Nigeria today. If it'll make you feel better, in this case I hold Awolowo and Zik responsible. |
Utterly disgusting and disrespectful thread created by an unrepentant troll. How about go compare Ahmadu Bello to Osama Bin Laden? - at least those two had a lot in common.
This boy must be an Ijebu or another Awo worshiper. Carry on with your name calling and enjoy yourself. The truth is, you always feel inferior to Oyo/Ibadan axis yorubas so your reaction is understandable.@Kats. Go ahead and lick your wounds by opening whatever thread you wish. You will not see your kind of emotional outburst cum revisionist tendencies from me. What is clear as a whistle is that Awo interfered. |
Katsumoto, when you are cornered, you start posting epistles which have no bearing whatsoever on an arguement you have already lost. No one is asking for your irrelevant lectures. The bottom line is that Awo interfered in Akintola's governance. You can post the whole encyclopedia if you like but it will not change that fact. Literature and newspaper accounts are filled with reports where Akintola himself attested to the interference. Don't be lazy, dig those reports out as well. |
tawa89: I don't know if Awolowo is similar to GEJ but there's one factor prof corruption and Katsmoto keep hammering on, that's the need for Akintola to follow the Ideology of AG. Now, let me deal with this point holistically, Akintola decided to be his own man by trying to assert his own authority and choose a different political path from the one Awolowo laid out for him. This singular action brought the disagreement between both of them which resorted to the Vote of no confidence and reinstatement of Akintola by the courts. So in summary, Awolowo interferred in Akintola's administration when he felt he was derailing from AG's manifesto.Thank goodness we still have one or two reasonable people who would not allow unnecessary emotionalism and partisanship tp becloud their common sense and simple logic. |
