musiwa33: So Nigeria should not be a member of the united nation because you need sovereignty to be part of the united nation and nigeria has no sovereignty .

Only nation with sovereignty should be at the united nation. but Nigeria should not be at the UN in the first place. because it never had sovereignty . the nigeria military later use the word. but originally. Nigeria is not a sovereignty nation but just a union. 3 unit have sovereignty in Nigeria that make up Nigeria.
Musiwa is not as crazy as you people would like to believe. When Nigeria became a member of the UN in 1960, she was indeed not a sovereign state. The country gained independence from the British government on Oct. 1st 1960, and became a republic three years later in 1963.

As Musiwa stated, Nigeria should not have been admitted in the UN, IF only sovereign states are admitted. In principle, only sovereign states can become UN members, but because membership only requires the approval of the Security Council and the General Assembly, several sovereign nations are not members, and others who are not yet sovereign could be members (e.g. Nigeria in 1960).

BecomeRichr, abeg bring map make wesee the sovereign nations who are not members of the UN
No matter what, this dance shouldn't have come outside, Amechi sure should have shown a brotherly love and respect no matter what, you can't slap back your elder/father irrespective of how wrong he was, hence the word respect is found in the dictionary.
I disagree with you my brother. These so called elders are responsible for the rot we find ourselves in. They need to be slapped, back handed, left and right hooked sef. The so called elders do not deserve our respect, in fact many of them need to be stoned.

PointB: He stood up for what he believed in. Now that doesn't make him infallible.

When you go about insulting people and calling them names; you are not solving any problem, you are fomenting crisis, and should accept responsibility for your action. That is what is happening to WS now. Let him deal with it by measuring his utterances like a statesman.
For once in your entire NL life, you utter sensible words.

oyb: No problem. I'm sure nigerians are engaging their constitutional rights on twitter to call her a uselss good for nothing daughter of a theving drunkard adulterer murderer.

She will bé cursing that constitution now- no soldiers to go and rough up anyone who looks at her cross eyed
You, of all people should know that libel is a crime and is not protected by any constitutional right to free speech. What many of you are doing here is committing libelous acts under the guise of free speech, while cowardly blabbing in anonymity. I for like catch you sef and squeeze all de naira wey you don hide, out of you, while arranging for una jail term for libel.
Politics › Re: Yerima Persuades Senate To Support Underage Marriage In Nigeria by nduchucks: 5:38am On Jul 18, 2013
I'd like to point out that this new 'law' is a carbon copy of a similar law in the USA. The US law allows ladies under 18 to get married with the consent of their parents - the new constitutional amendment does just that .

oyb: This 'lady's' father muzzled the press. He locked up an editor of tell for over 12 months.tell became an underground journal. Try again
The lady is a Nigerian citizen whose constitutional rights are protected under the law, regardless of her father's actions. You people must learn to fight to protect and defend our constitution if you are politically mature. Effeminate emotionalism will not help you in this regard.

I didn't bother to read most of the posts on this thread but would like the critics of Ms. Abacha to note that their own freedom of expression is no good if they cannot respect this lady's rights to free speech.
Politics › Re: Patience Ignores Protocol & Exchanged Pleasantries Before Jonathan by nduchucks: 8:40pm On Jul 17, 2013
Inasmuch as Patience should have not been this forward, I'm not sure there exists any protocol which calls for the President to be the first among the two to greet those receiving them at a nigerian airport. If this were a foreign trip, you people may have a point.

If any of you can provide a copy of the breached protocol, i will apologize, until then,I say you all are the ones out of protocol by being disrespectful to our first lady.

Politics › Re: 'Brigadier General' Al Mustapha Should Replace Lt Gen OA Ihejirika As COAS, ASAP by nduchucks(op): 2:20pm On Jul 16, 2013
@Katsumoto, I challenge you to read the judge's opinion on why Al Mustapha was set free. Even in a currupt justice system, one can find pockets of justice snd fairness, as we found in this case.

You typically support your positions with sound logic and facts, so I am surprised that you keep calling a decorated soldier a hit man. Soldiers are trained to kill and sacrifice their lives for your freedom. Calling a good Nigerian soldier a hitman is hitting below the belt.

You are using the name boko haram loosely. BH is already in charge of most of your political institutions. The so called BH who are currently being hunted down by JTF are less dangerous than the ones in Abuja, Rivdr state and elsewhere.

What did you smoke today? You want to replace a disciplined officer with a common hitman? Try something else.
What happened to you and your respect for the rule of law? Did you read the opinion of the judge who set Al Mustapha free? How dare you call the man a common hitman while the real criminals are currently selling your inheritance to the Chinese without any protest from you people.

confusion247: I think you are wasting your time on nairaland, kindly go down to army headquarters and send Ihejirika parking. Your own way to fight corruption is to retire army them rather than prosecute them. sentimental bigot!!!
You want to prosecute corrupt Army officers in Nigeria, ko? Please enumerate the number of corrupt Army officials, politicians, and other government officials who are currently serving very long prison terms. I'd rather line them up for target practice and stone the mofos.
Politics › Re: 'Brigadier General' Al Mustapha Should Replace Lt Gen OA Ihejirika As COAS, ASAP by nduchucks(op): 12:48am On Jul 16, 2013
manny4life: That Nigeria did not have structure back then was a testament of our failure, the army now has good structure and balance. To assume the position of a Chief, in a good army structure, the top tiered ranking officers are only competent for such positions. You cannot retire Major General, Lieutenant Generals and Generals of the army only to leave a mere brigadier who was acquitted of a murder case to be the highest ranking army official.

Sorry bros, but this argument I'm not buying. Even in the US, Col and even Brigadier Generals are NOT part of the Joint Chiefs let alone being the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
I hope you noticed that I put "Brigadier General" in quotes in the thread's title. Now,please answer this question honestly: If Al Mustapha is made a Lt General, would your objection to my wish reduce? Is Al Mustapha's name more problematic to you than any Army structure? Are you a closet "tttttttrx"?
Politics › Re: 'Brigadier General' Al Mustapha Should Replace Lt Gen OA Ihejirika As COAS, ASAP by nduchucks(op): 12:29am On Jul 16, 2013
Ngwakwe: Now I understand, Ihejirika is my man while Al Mustapha is your man and by unwritten constitution the North is born to rule hence any other tribesman with a higher rank must give way for a coup plotter cum murderer to assume leadership of the Army and by extension to overthrow GEJ
I suppose you have not yet learnt that I have zero tolerance for for thieves and incompetent people put in leadership positions in Nigeria. Many of the Generals who need to be weeded out are from both the North and the South. You have no idea how they are enriching themselves while hiding under the skirts of fighting BH.

No confusion here buddy. Your man and other rogue Generals should be retired and cleared out for competent people
Politics › Re: 'Brigadier General' Al Mustapha Should Replace Lt Gen OA Ihejirika As COAS, ASAP by nduchucks(op): 12:03am On Jul 16, 2013
manny4life: You funny o, if Gen. Ihejirka as a Lieutenant General holds that position, what makes you think a lower ranking one-star general will assume such position? Abi is the ranking not - Brigadier, Major, Lieutenant and then General of the Army?
You missed the point. I remind you that Lt Col Yakubu Gowon and later, Lt Col Joseph Akahan were COAS at some point in time even when there were higher ranking officers in the army. Its time to retire a whole host of Generals including the Ihejirika anyway.
Politics › 'Brigadier General' Al Mustapha Should Replace Lt Gen OA Ihejirika As COAS, ASAP by nduchucks(op): 11:40pm On Jul 15, 2013
Justice would be fully served when Al Mustapha is fully reabsorbed into the army and given his rightful rank/position - Brigadier General/Chief Of Army Staff. Ihejirika has done enough harm to that office.

If GEJ does not have the stomach for that, Governor Al Mustapha or Senator Al Mustapha would be just fine, come 2015.

Sincere 9gerian: As laudable as that may be, it will be easier for the camel to pass thru the eye of the needle than for such to happen. The present structure is IRREVERSIBLE, except any of the following occurs:
- there's another civil war
- the country breaks up
- crude oil dries up or loses its value
You excluded two important items

- there's a coup which rids the country of most of the 'owners of Nigeria'
- Buhari becomes the next Nigerian President
Politics › Re: Obahiagbon To Patience - "Wole Is Far From The Problem, Your English Is" by nduchucks: 5:12pm On Jul 14, 2013
GEJ and his wife are in over their heads. If anyone is an embarrassment it would be Patience and GEJ - a simple google search would reveal this fact.

GEJ and Patience need to leave peacefully and let competent people run our country. Frankly I don't give a damn if the next President is from GEJ's village as long as the embarrassment he and his wife continue to bring to the country stops. This is becoming unbearable.

As for Asari, I remind the fool that he is not immune to being permanently silenced by being thrown in jail or other means. mumu

Billionaires: Too much money in the hands of Federal Government ? Does this mallam know how much the American Federal Government has under IRS alone ? Most of these governors in Nigeria think they know, but they know nothing. I hope GEJ will grant us Resource Control so some governors can start planting groundnut and cocoa.
You are the ignorant one in this matter. The IRS you referenced above cannot spend a penny more than what Congress has appropriated to the agency. Additionally, the Federal government cannot willy nilly deep into the funds collected by the IRS, the way that GEJ and fellow thieves do. olodo
