Politics › Re: Nigeria Saves N4.2trn On Manufactured-Goods Importation In 2012 - Aganga by nduchucks: 1:47pm On Apr 28, 2013
@taharqa, I don't have time for foolishness today and if you have the capability and intelligence to engage me in a focused manner, I'd recommend that you do so.

Here is the statement I challenged, in case you missed it:

Aganga: The good and exciting news is that the fall was as a result of a sharp decrease in the value of import from about N9.8tn to about N5.6tn by the end of 2012. That was a decrease of about 43 per cent in savings of more than N4.2tn, which has gone to the increase in the foreign reserves of our country.
I presented my case to support that the quote is a bold face lie and explained why it is impossible to increase our foreign reserves due to a decrease in the value of import. If you cannot show us how that is possible, then get lost.

I am not here to argue that the foreign reserves have not increased, I am saying that Aganga's statement in the quote above is a bold face lie. Any increase in our foreign reserves is due primarily to the price of oil and other factors NOT including a decrease in the value of import,.

ACM10: You'd be glad to see Igbo-Yoruba feud continue ad infinitum. . .wont you? That's why you pop up every now and then to inflame the hatred. Cos your people stands to benefit. . .huh?
ACM10, nkuku nwanne amalomye, you appear to be a dullard from your post above. Who are "my people" who stand to benefit from this non existent Igbo-Yoruba feud? You small boys can blow yourselves to smithereens online, if you wish, but be advice that JTF will be waiting for you when you take your foolery to the streets. dolo

Pathological and bloody liars have started again o!! They continue to use the ignorance of their constituents and praise singers such as many on this thread including Sincere9gerian/taharqa to attempt to make themselves look good.

Given that I don't enjoy writing epistles like one Gbawe or Sam_Ikenna, I'll briefly support my statement that these people are bloody liars, by explaining what constitute Nigeria's foreign reserves - this should keep the jobbers and other goons from waywardly and willy nilly criticizing my stance.

Nigeria's foreign reserves are made up of three components — the federation, the federal government, and the CBN portions.

The federation component is made up of excess crude and royalty accounts, which are only looted shared (used) as the need arises. It is clear that the sharp decrease in the value of import in Aganga's claims did not increase this component

In the case of federal government component, it is made of up funds belonging to some agencies of government, such as NNPC for its Joint Venture funding. Here again, clearly the sharp decrease in the value of import in Aganga's claims could not have miraculously increased government agency funds. It is insane to make such a claim.

The last component is the CBN portion which is made of up monetized funds. The funds are dollar inflows, which the CBN receives and keeps on behalf of the three tiers of government. The money in the foreign reserve accounts becomes practically CBN's. This it uses in conducting its monetary policy, in defending the value of the naira from time to time. So I ask Alhaji Aganga, how did this sharp decrease in the value of import become miraculously monetize and end up in CBN's coffers?

We can see clearly than the said decrease in the value of import could not have increased any component of Nigeria's foreign exchange and the CBN portion in particular - since this is the component which most Nigerians associate with foreign reserves.

Alhaji Aganga, please carry your lies elsewhere, go and learn how to lie properly from Ngozi. mumu

Dede1: As long as Ibo is used in text on this forum instead of Igbo, I have every liberty to use Yoruba or Yooba. By the way, I am not surprise and can not be fooled with goofy moniker of IKenna351.

I usually do not associate with sites such as nairaland but people such as you have forced me to navigate through the site once a while. Nigeria is stuffed with people of the same mindset such as you who always think it will be their ways or no way even when they are grossly in error.

We need to free our mind and develop thick skin in Nigeria in order to grow. Nigeria should not be and I pray it does not last more than two years. Nigeria is an accident. If you really want to curb tribal bias in Nigeria, I suggest you wipe out other ethnicities baring one or disintegrate Nigeria to form ethnic nationalities.
Dede1, according to the senior moderator, OAM4J, you have done nothing wrong. I reproduce OAM4J's post after a long discussion in a thread which included contributions from all of us, Seun, OAM4J, and others. This Ikenna352 cannot willy nilly change rules, we are not his children here.

OAM4J: Haven gone through the links supplied by our 2 senior members Dede1 and Dayokanu, I wish to still plead that we refer to Nigeria South Easterners as Igbo and South Westerners as Yoruba only.

But we will no longer hide or ban those who refer to Yoruba as Yoruba and Yooba, and Igbo as Ibo, Ebo, Iboe, Eboe, Eboans and Heebo

Other variation outside these proven ones will be removed and might warrant a ban if convinced its not a typographical error but a deliberate attempt at ethnic slur.

Unless Of course our oga at the top says another thing otherwise.

Thank you.
If Oga at the top has changed the rule, we need to know. So Ikenna352, did Seun tell you to reverse OAM4J's decision, if not, stop bothering us with this issue.

The appropriate response by the US government is to donate assorted drones to Nigeria right after the 2015 election and to throw in a handful of advisers.

This action will do more to guarantee security than supporting any candidate. Shi kena

Mallam, truthisbitter, I'll tell you the bitter truth. You appear to be one of the misguided youths who waste their lives on starting useless threads on nairaland instead of starting a local revolution or participating in the development of their localities.

Your generation will be worse than your fathers' at the rate you people are going. Lets hope I am wrong about my observations.

Ikenna351: @ OAM4J,

A member complained here in this thread, Desola, seeking for a public apology from me, for wrongly banning her. I tendered the apology and adviced members to desist tribal slur in that same apology. But why you went and removed those 2 posts is what i dont understand. Her complaint shouldnt be hidden, the same with the apology. Where else. Isnt that what this thread is for? Please, OAM4J, you are acting as if you are the only mod in this section. Its very wrong. You dont get to decide yourself alone how your co-mods carryout their functions. I was pulled into this Section because of the mess this section had turned into. At the beginning, i quietly asked you to stay out of this, so that we dont allow tribal bigots to create conflicts between us, but its like thats what you wanted. Please, dont frustrate my work here. I have been staying away from other mod work in this section and concentrating on reducing tribal hate. Meaning, am not here to challenge you. As soon as sanity is restored, believe me, i will take my leave.
The above post is a disgrace and I say shame on you Ikenna351 for disgracing your co-mod publicly. This is one of the posts which, if you have any brains, should have been made privately or in your moderator section. I am disappointed in you and you don't deserve to be a moderator of this section. I hope Seun takes immediate corrective actions to deal with you. What nonsense!!

By the way, this is a complaint thread and I will not appreciate the bastardization of my post in any way, shape, or form. DO NOT HIDE THIS POST!!

mikeansy: Youths of North East or North West have no unique right to have any special infusion of money in their area.

In fact all of Nigeria require infusion of money and people will not and must not be given special treatment because they engaged is terrorism.
I am 100% in agreement with the above. Our best hope for what you stated above, in my opinion is a regime change. This administration is not cut out to move us closer to where we need to be. I'm sorry to say that GEJ, while a good and decent human being, is unfit to rule this country.

We can not build a society by rewarding terrorism . . .thats dangerous and most people from other parts of Nigeria will see through this.

The fact that a mistake has been made in SS does not mean it must be repeated in North East. It will not happen,

If anything what we need is Devolution of power and let the local people in North East source their own money to pay themselves benefits or pay benefits to terrorists if they so please!!!!!
I also agree with the above in principle, but as a practical matter, we need to end the violence first. The Amnesty program if implemented well, will do just that. The fight for true federalism will require the help and dedication of good progressives like you and Insha Allah, we will get there.
Politics › Re: Boko Haram Is NOT A Hausa/Fulani Phenomenon, It Is A Kanuri Thing by nduchucks(op): 2:44pm On Apr 21, 2013
mikeansy: NASS assembly will defeat any attempt to sneak in a welfare state for terrorists in the name of amnesty

if the amnesty is all about ending violence and bringing criminals to justice thats a different story

but if it is all about paying youths from any part of the North some welfare benefits just because they have the temerity to bomb their fellow citizens am pretty sure Southern and North Central Legislators will vote it down.
A major part of the amnesty is all about ending the violence and bringing the criminals who refuse to disavow violence to justice. I'm glad you've stated that NASS will not have any problem with that, and I thank you for latently declaring your support for same.

I'd also suggest to you that to make this plan work, amnesty must be followed by massive infusion of money development activities, much like we saw in the SS, and training programs provided for hopeless youths who are easily brainwashed and recruited by mischief makers. The funding required for such a program is minuscule compared to the funds looted daily by the usual suspects. It is not helpful to call programs which will save lives and end violence "creation of a Welfare State".

mikeansy: Mikeansy as SAN? not sure what that means!!!!

Biafra has nothing to do with anything and I know when the war ended thank you very much

but what I also know is that poverty is not unique to any part of the country and can not be used to justify terrorism and pure criminality.

You guys can bully Jonathan to form committees but we live in a democracy and any silly welfare state proposed by the Presidency will need ratification by the NASS.

The rest of the country will have their say at the NASS. It is that simple!
You can try to deny or minimize your status as a lawyer with SAN designation, that's your cup of tea.

It is quite funny that you believe that NASS will prevent the implementation of a well thought-out Amnesty program - NASS will defeat the Amnesty program the same way it defeated the Amnesty provided to MEND. cheesy

kettykings: @ Ndu chuks thank you so much for this Boko Haram Organogram the problem is that their is no source or link for further verification of information , another surprising thing is the rapid rise of Jerry Gana to such prominence in the Boko Haram heirachy.
Why are you exhibiting gross laziness by asking for links and sources of the information contained in my post? Are you the only Nigerian alive who does not know that (1)On October 19th, 2012, a Boko Haram commander, Shuaibu Bama was arrested in a sitting senators domain. Senator Ahmed Khalifa Zanna conceded according to media reports, that upon the Nigerian security forces beating up his family children, the kids brought out the commander, who happens to be his sister's son/nephew. (2)Senator Ndume was arraigned On Terrorism Charge (3)Prof. Jerry Gana bailed out the late Muhammed Yusuf when Yusuf was arrested and brought to to Abuja?

My friend, use google and more importantly read up on Nigerian history before you comment on these kinds of threads else you'd appear to be a dullard.

@ekt_bear, you at least, are honest.

@mikeansy, you of all people, a whole SAN, continue to bury your head in the sand so that you can continue to feed your hatred for the Hausa/Fulani. I remind you that the Biafra war ended almost 50years ago, and its time to bury the hatchet.

In fairness, let me note that the states under the Kanuri flag are now known as some of the poorest states in the federation and world, though traditionally, Kanuri was one of the richest dynasties in Africa. As per Nigerian politics, they have been progressively losing a foothold on power since the Abacha days.

At the end of the day, these people are fellow Nigerians. We must restore their dignity and invest heavily in their region so that peace and prosperity will reign. I wish I could write an epistle like the usual suspects but I'm a man of few words. Lets give peace a chance.
Politics › Boko Haram Is NOT A Hausa/Fulani Phenomenon, It Is A Kanuri Thing by nduchucks(op):
The past few weeks have revealed to me, that some of the brightest nairalanders are merely common bigots. Reading comments concerning Boko Haram Amnesty reveals that majority of the commenters threw common sense out of the window because they somehow believe that the Hausa/Fulanis are behind the Boko Haram mess and will be the beneficiaries of the proposed Amnesty.

This NLers ignore the fact that Boko Haram has attacked the Emir of Kano several times and routinely kill Hausa/Fulani, Igbo, Yoruba, Christians and Muslims alike.

It suffices to state here that (1)Senator Ndume recently arrested and released, (2)Senator Ahmed Khalifa whose sisters son turned out to be a Boko Haram commander, (3) the one and only Shekau, (4)Dr. Ibrahim Datti Ahmad, President-General of the Supreme Council for Shari'a in Nigeria who recently rejected membership of Amnesty commitee, have only one thing in common. What might that be?? They are all Kanuris.

I reserve the rest of my comments for a later time. In the meantime, view the picture below and think. Hausa/Fulanis have nothing to do with Boko Haram.

Real and Political Boko Harams deserve no Amnesty but sympathisers can be released unconditionally that I agree.
These kinds of negotiations are not meant for emotional Dan Daudus who are uninformed. Both the Sultan and GEJ are privy to more details than you do.

Lets allow the Amnesty Committee do its duty.

And for the women, they are adults and they are boko haram member who have committed crimes such as murder. So you expect them to be released because they are women ! So women have the right to kill !!
