Even if we discount the “rigging” by as much as 70 per cent to keep voter turnout in the two regions at 30 per cent (compared to South-west’s 32 per cent turnout), Jonathan would still have polled 14,722,489. He would still have defeated Buhari by over 2 million votes. So why the orchestration of violence and killings over a lost case? This is mere conjecture and unfounded speculation which misses the point of the protests completely. The point is not whether GEJ should have won but that the rigging should have got his candidacy disqualified. This writer also assumes that the violence and killings were orchestrated by CPC, an unfortunate and disappointing stance. We all condemn the violence, but we must not allow the action of irresponsible few put us in a position to continue to accept the rigging machine of PDP without protesting, preferably peacefully. I'd be glad to read the author's article next week after PDP rigs Ogun Oyo, and Lagos. Based on the author's logic, we should just roll over and let it be, because violence is bad. olodo |
^-- Thanks for your concern, but I am equally concerned about you people as well. |
Ystranger:shatap dia. What makes you think I don't have vital interests in the south west? We shall stop Tinubu, one way or the other from enslaving additional SW states through his alpha Beta company. PDP will clip his wings in Lagos and Lagos state will be N2billion per month better off. This is in the best interest of all Nigerians. |
My Predictions for some SW states: Ogun - PDP Oyo - PDP (no contest) Lagos - toss up (I'm inclined to say PDP because of latent rigging) |
obbaj2010:@obbaj2010, May God give you the strength to bear the losses. The most unfortunate thing is that the government knows the radical Imams and their politician co conspirators who are always behind these unnecessary attacks. Additionally, the government knows or should know when these attacks are in the process of taking place, yet they do nothing to prevent them. This is the real shame. I hope the new president is strong enough to deal with this issue with utmost urgency otherwise, he himself may not survive for much longer. He will not find it funny when suicide bombers start attacking NASS and even aso rock. |
Dede1:One wouldn't think that Shell D'arcy would need to request funds for exploration, given the fact that both Shell and D'arcy were financially able to raise those funds with ease in international markets or directly from Britain. Is this another one of your attempts at getting back at the Yoruba people for their part in the civil war, or can you substantiate you statements with facts? |
Lets hope it was a random act of robbery. The Hausa community living on Marina Road in Oron, Akwa Ibom State was Thursday evening attacked by unidentified gun men numbering about seven. The attackers were said to be armed with guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons. Three of the Hausa people attacked sustained various degrees of injuries from machete cuts. They have since been treated and discharged from a clinic in the town. |
Dede1:The cure you speak of is readily available and can be implemented immediately to checkmate the violence. If our Igbo President, Azikwe Jonathan, has enough guts, all he has to do is round up the radical Imams, financed by Iran, and leaders of dangerous religious sects, such as the ones attempting to perfect their skills at making IEDs, throw them in jail for life, and the ailment you speak of will disappear overnight. The rioting Almajiris get their instructions from radical Imams known to the federal government. GEJ and his administration along with his Igbo heads of security apparatus, are incompetent and lack the guts to solve the problem. I am beginning to suspect that their lack of action is intentional. How else can you explain allowing very predictable post election violence to occur with impunity? We need to treat these people as the terrorists they are and deal with them with full force. Same treatment needs to be meted out to rascals and other terrorists such as MEND. |
seanet02:You don't seem to realize that Aje Okuta Ma Mu Omi, refers to a very tough and strong person who is not a weeklin or a coward. Using the term here defeats your purpose does it not? Dede1:Would you be willing to admit that the proceeds from groundnut played a major role in the development of modern Lagos? What was(were) the primary source of foreign exchange in Nigeria between 1960 - 1967? Please enlighten us. |
Beaf:I must have hit a raw nerve. Pele o. olodo Come o, have you seen ekt_bear anywhere? ![]() |
Beaf:Let's hope the president and his men deal with this issue promptly. Given antecedents, one could assume that nothing will happen until one of these people show up in NASS as a suicide bomber in a few months. |
I hope you all realise that once you choose to become plaintiffs in such a case as you are contemplating, you will no longer be able to hide your identities. Your antics of hiding under a NL screen name and spewing garbage will suddenly go out of style. To show us that you people are serious and not just flexing useless cyber muscles, tell us your full names and locations now now. Let's go, Jakumo the jewish writer, Beaf, PapaBrowne , wetin be una pa particularss?? If you can't do that, then shatap, get lost and stop jerking our chains. |
Will somebody get it through the skulls of these government agents in charge of security that surviving members and leaders of the religious sect who were training themselves on bomb making need to be arrested immediately and locked away for years?? As soon as these people perfect the act of bomb making, the dead will no longer be embers of the sect but innocent Nigerians. GEJ please act now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These people have destroyed the beauty of my dear Kaduna. That town used to be a melting pot of people from different tribes and religions, living together peacefully and happily. |
Dede1:Your solution as stated in the bolded text above will never be actualized. As I told you elsewhere, I maintain an optimistic outlook of Nigeria. Insha Allah you people will be shamed at the eventual success of our dear country. We will survive the growing pains with distinction, and we shall remain intact as one nation in the process. As soon as we get a good handle on the dutch disease, the shaming of you secessionists and pessimists who call our dear country cesspit, shall commence with full force. |
Kobojunkie:Na gode, thanks a million. I'll have to blame it on NL's spell checker instead of my Igbo Language skills. ![]() |
@GenBuhari: GEJ got 22 millionish votes Buhari got 11 millionish votes Some (well, a lot) of GEJs votes are obviously fake. Some of Buharis are probably fake. Subtract off the unknown fake votes from each person. . .how do we know who won? I'm guessing that GEJ couldn't have given himself up to 11 million fake votes, and so it is probably reasonable to guess he'd have won. . . but I have no way of knowing. I don't know exactly how the books were cooked, I only know they were cooked.
Fair enough. I'm sure you'd agree with me that in more sane environments, the party who cooked the books would be disqualified. Under normal conditions, the election results should have been thrown out, PDP disqualified, or at the very least a rerun should have been ordered. |
Hey dude, stop trying so hard to quote Igbo proverbs, 'cos it makes you look/appear childish and irritating You are nothing but a hausa/fulani desert rat, phucking f@ggot. If you like change your moniker to ikemba, you're still a coward like your desert dwellers up north. Your people are the biggest cowards and the weakest in nigeria. It is because of this know fact of cowardice that you gay mofos have cornered the military and are using it to commit genocide in places like the middle-belt and niger delta. Allow equal representation in the military and let see who the boys and men are ![]() I'm not pleased that you phucking hausa/fulani cowards have ran across the niger bridge to asaba. I would have love to see you cowards stay and fight in onitsha like men that you claim to be. Amadioha magbu kwe ghi dia! Anuofia
@alex_101, onye ara ka obu. Nkita ara. Despite that, A hurum gi nanya like a brother. olodo. |
Katsumoto:Haba, no one in his right mind will suggest that any Nigerian, Southerner or Northerner is not a innocent victim. Many of the posters here are assuming that southerners were the only innocent victims to have been killed in the post election violence we've seen across the North. The victims include Southerners, Northerners, Christians and Muslims. Mosques and Churches were burnt. The victims were basically Nigerians who do not belong to the political elite. Granted Emirs and other elite, lost their residences to fire. The violence was completely predictable and I lay the blame squarely on the government and their rigging agents. They continue to allow these violent acts to continue despite knowing the radical Imams and political handlers who continue to instigate these violent acts. Why the heck can't they go out and arrest these people, lock them up and throw the keys away? Why can't they aggressively pursue a educational policies which would set these Almajiris free? |
Dede1:Your solution smacks of the desire to self destruct at all costs after having lost a ill advised war of the past. Our people talk say Ochu nwa okuku nwe ada; you people plotting against innocent victims will fail. |
@paddy_lo, Get lost!! Flee flea. |
R.I.P our dear copatriot. |
Onlytruth:Ignore at your own peril. Constructive criticisms are healthy. How do you plan on getting rid of your governors and other elite who would be threatened by the new comers? Who will finance this new settlements? Who will audit the contracts awarded to construct this project? Its OK to dream sha. I believe your idea will not come to fruition in the next 20years as long as the current corrupt governors and elite remain in place. Better to come up with a plan to get rid of them first. Where are the Ojukwus of today? Ikemba is dearly missed. |
omenala:Apologies, but you come across as a dullard. |
Friends, beware of wolves in sheeps' clothing. nuff said. Let me just add to the criticsm of so-called Northern leaders. They have indeed failed Northerners and indeed all Nigerians, but if we must castigate them, we must also include their co-conspirators from the West, East, and South in the castigation. These political elite have everything in common, they benefit immensely from the oil wealth and other resources of Nigeria, they do not care about the poor masses, and continue to oppress the most marginalized Nigerians i.e. the almajiris of the North and the common man of the ND. Over $15billion have been spent by the Federal ministry of education in the past 12 years. Is that not enough to provide adequate and free education to every single Nigerian? The average salary plus fringe benefits of senators/reps is well over $1million/year, yet they have not found it necessary to inact laws which would mandate, primary education. You people should direct your anger towards your leaders who hail from every area of Nigeria and leave the almajiris out of your criticisms. The almajiris are victims and deserve our understanding. When you subject any human being to the kind of oppression and neglect that they have experienced, the behavior you get from them is completely expected and predictable. The real murderers are the riggers and the authorities who expected the recent violence but took no action to curtail it. The blood of every Nigerian who was killed is in their hands. |
A new Nigerian hero is born. Kudos. |
@whoever pointed out that the same onions imported from the North can be imported elsewhere, well done. Nobody will starve if the country splits. You just buy onions/tomatoes from Arewa Republic. And if they refuse to sell, buy from Benin Republic or Cameroon
The challenge is not whether people will starve if the country splits, it is whether the split can happen peacefully. I'm of the opinion that we cannot archieve this split peacefully. We may have to agree to disagree on this particular issue. |
phreakabit:What's your prolem? Our Yoruba people talk say, ewo lo kan mi ni'inu oku iya Adele? meaning wettin concern Ashawo wey get condom with gonorrhea. Pick a particular point I made which you are in disagreement with, and provide a superior point and I'll appreciate that more than your childish and bigoted rants. @Beaf, wettin be ya own? ![]() @monasor28, truth is bitter - expect vicious attacks for your write-up shortly. |
Sun of god:I'm sorry to say that you sound a bit ignorant here. The Northern region is blessed with an enormous amount of mineral resources, agricultural potential, livestock potential, which when properly developed would enable the region to become self sustaining and major exporter of assorted goods. We have the potential to be the textile capital of Africa because we can produce enormous amount of cotton very cheaply. Dangote is already doing wonders with cement. Remember that groundnuts from Kano along with Cocoa from the SW were the main exports which sustained the country just a few years ago. To say that the North without the South would quickly become another Somalia is a bunch of Balony. I recall recently that there was chaos in the South simply because of scarcity of Onions. Please do not underestimate mutual dependencies. |
Dede1:I maintain an optimistic outlook of Nigeria. Rub that statement of yours in, as much as you like, Insha Allah you people will be shamed at the eventual success of our dear country. We will survive the growing pains with distiction, and we shall remain intact as one nation in the process. As soon as we get a good handle on the dutch disease, the shaming of you seccessionists and pessimists who call our dear country cesspit, shall commence with full force. It is worse than suicidal for ndigbo to be clamouring for spliting the country at this point. I mantain that the East is not big enough and the resources therein are not enough to sustain the population if just 50% of you return to the East. Given the current limited resources, kidnapping is the order of the day. I don't even want to think of what will be the order when you people return to the East. SAI ONE NIJERIA. |
Beaf:Beaf, you should also be amused at the “stuck on you” mantra of your President GEJ, because he shares this notion of one Nigeria with most well meaning Nigerians. I predict that GEJ will not convene any National Conference which you say everybody wants. I hope to one day hear you condemn the terrorist acts of groups such as MEND, who have been proved to be responsible for kidnapping of innocent Nigerians and foreign nationals, killing of innocent Nigerians, bombings, bunkering, and other atrocious acts, with the same zeal with which you condemn disenfranchised Northerners who are protesting recent massive and unnecessary riggings . While you are at it, use your Jomo Gbomo email account to warn the President that if he does not convene a national conference within weeks, you all will unleash unprecedented amount of terror upon the country. olodo |
Beaf:Hausa-Fulani is not leaving anytime soon, nor threatening to leave. You should be worried about your own people who would be promptly crushed by federal forces under GEJ's control, once you start talking about spliting the country in any serious manner. Beaf:Beaf, you are delusional. By your reasoning, GEJ belongs to the hegemonistic Northern cabals because he is the number one proponent of keeping Nigeria together. The fact that you believe that splitting Nigeria is urgent or even solely dependent on the wishes of few of you terrorists is disappointing. You have no idea how much influence and control some super powers have over your affairs. GEJ is not the revolutionary that will split this country. His cozy relationship with the USA should be telling enough for you, unless as usual, your head is buried in quicksand. Rakumin dajij @Kilode!, I gbadun your points. Carry go. |
