Mekky2010: Are u by any means suggesting they should have simply watched a repeat of Agatu? Aren't nonsense. I am unaware of the number of people arrested for Agatu massacre . brize: yes they take the law in their hand by protesting, yes protest is breaking the law in Nigeria, yes One Nigeria, nigeria will not break, instead of nigeria to break we will kill our selves so that our lord and saviors the britain will rejoice... Yes they created us for their own selfish interest and as a Nigeria we must defend their interest and despise ours..... Zoo indeed, what a zoo Love Machine: What about the fulani herdsmen who have been killing farmers in their own land, what has the law done to them?Blind follower. You people should learn to focus on the issue at hand. The only issue here is whether or not these people were arrested for allegedly breaking the law. The answer to this simple question is Yes. They should go to court and prove their innocense; this is what the rule of law is all about. Y'all need to come out of the bush and leave jungle justice to savages. BlackTechnology: Say Amen if you think you are right
May the same fate that befell the 2 kidnapped women befall you. The thing is your prayer will have zero impact on me, because the toothless and wicked god you are praying to is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. dolo |

Mekky2010: What a country, protesters are arrested while murderous vampires receive pat on the back...at times I am forced to use the Z word for Nigeria. These people were not protesting. They were arrested for law breaking activities - they have no business taking the law in their own hands. |

I personally do not see much wrong with this tax proposal.
The services we need from the government have above average costs per GDP than most other countries with similar population. We can no longer rely on oil revenues which breed laziness and monumental theft by the usual suspects.
We need to be willing to pay the price for the services and infrastructure we desperately need. A fraction of what you people pay for megabytes used to get on the internet, for primarily useless activities and trolling is a small price to pay.
Abi how do you people expect the government to replenish funds used to support programs such as the N500million grant for 1000 young professionals? Awoof don retire o; its a new day. |

Sealeddeal: Revenge I think is part of negotiation process. It's been a long time I heard of Fulani herdsmen violence in Jos. The Jos people has forced them to listen. I am saying that we, in SE can never negotiate with anybody for our lands. I said earlier that Cattle rearing is a personal business of the people doing it and I have said also, that literate/illiterate businessmen I know all acquired the place they do their business. Fulani herdsmen should seek for a grazing zones and rent it and pay tax and loyalty. That's the solution to the whole issue. But if they continue to kill to intimidate, revenge will be the appropriate response. Oga, I doubt that you own a square foot of the land in question. Please stop disgraceful yourself and read the Land Use Act from the link I posted. |

Ikechu12781: You pissing me the hell off..shut up. Who's innocent? Your effeminate emotionalism does not negate the fact that the urban sprawling and your lack of city planning are primarily responsible for the encroachment of the herdsmen's historical grazing areas. Until you are bold enough to make this admission and work without pride to resolve this national problem, you people will be resisted with both daggers and other choice repellants. |

Sealeddeal: The Miyetti Allah cattle rearers association has rejected grazing zones without proffering any solution. The Fulani herdsmen are not seeking for solution. Wharra pity. You people do not realize that when you negotiate, you start from a position of greatest strength and when the dust settles, you get the best deal. |

Iykopee: How does it even make sense to u the herdsmen shud have reserved areas for grazing in anoda mans land? What happens to their own land in the north? Listen man, this problem wont end unless the herdsmen start buying up lands and using same as grazing field. Nobody is gonna give up an inch of his land to herdsman for free.... U had better stick to reality. It is very difficult to have a reasonable discussion with folks who are ignorant of the law, the constitution of this great country, or the Land Use Act It suffices, for now, to inform you that any governor can grant customary right of occupancy in respect of an area of land in excess of 5000 hectares if granted for grazing purposes, to any singular herdsman and waive any fee. Flee emotionalisms and think outside of the box. |

Sealeddeal: It's not uncommon for villagers to meet and discuss problems affecting them. The major reason why herdsmen has continued to kill is because they have never been sentenced to death for their nefarious acts and Nigeria has come to a time when people will now act to defend themselves. The bolded speaks volumes. Most "villages" do not have 76 inhabitants. You continue to run away from the glaring fact that you people were congregating to mount an attack on herdsmen, most of who are innocent of any crime. The authorities correctly arrested you all before you become judges and juries. I also note that you may not be sophisticated enough to objectively address the root causes of this problem and proffer some solutions. Your solution is to murder herdsmen who are yet to be found guilty of anything. Wharra shame! |

Sealeddeal: Is the primary thing to do in occasion of violence not to arrest the perpetrators and bring them book? Are Fulani herdsmen not supposed to be judged by the existing law of the land? Why are they not being arrested or tried? Why is it not part of your solution. Mind you, Cattle rearing is an individual business and not the business of the state and even illiterate businessmen and women pay for their shops and not got it through special legislation. Fulani herdsmen are criminals and must be treated as such As I stated elsewhere, the kind of myopic view you posted will not resolve the issue. You can arrest hundreds or thousands of people but if the root cause of the issue continues to be ignored, the arrests will be an exercise in futility. All criminals should be arrested by the authorities and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The law enforcement agencies in your state should do their jobs. Having said that, when vigilantes gather around to illegally perform law enforcement activities, they deserve to be arrested and prosecuted as well. That they are 76 or 176 in number is irrelevant. |

Iykopee: U ended up not saying sometin meaninful neither did profer solution to the issue.. I'm tired of educating you people on this issue. Don't be lazy and use the search button to located tens of solutions we've proposed over the years. For the benefit of the remaining lazy coots here, I'll repost a comment I made a year or two ago, y'all can search for the rest: It is very easy to trivialize a very difficult and complex problem, but that will never be helpful. The herdsmen have very legitimate problems which affects their lives and livelihoods. At the same time other Nigerians who have become involved in conflicts with the herdsmen also deserve justice.
Your representatives in NASS need to get off their butts and come up with legislation and address this issue wholistically. They need to fully understand the root causes of these problems (much like they understand how much to budget for their official vehicles) and find reasonable solutions.
One would expect such solutions to include reserving land areas across the country (much like a 'herdsman' highway) and rendering those areas exclusively for the transportation of cattle and family of the nomadic herdsmen who also have a constitutional right to free movement across this great country.
You people have your own highways where you transport your goods and families peacefully; the herdsmen deserve nothing less. As long as their needs are neglected by our government, I'm afraid the trouble will continue. |

Section 36 (9) of the constitution.
(9) No person who shows that he has been tried by any court of competent jurisdiction or tribunal for a criminal offence and either convicted or acquitted shall again be tried for that offence or for a criminal offence having the same ingredients as that offence save upon the order of a superior court . According to the above, particularly the bolded portion, it is safe to assume, in this dispensation, that Tinubu has nothing to worry about.
