Tell me what is Yoruba cause?. So, they will not fight for a hungry Ijaw or Fulani or Igbo child?. That is how you hope to achieve something in this nation?
Yoruba cause is multifold and for the purpose of relevance here, it seeks to advance the collective interests of the children of O'dua.
Here is what it is not, . . .it is not a caretaker for the children of Ijaw, Fulani or Igbo.

If the children of those tribal groups should ever need a surrogate care, Yorubas will embrace that responsibility with diligence and pride. Until then, they should be navigated to their respectve designated milk nipples.

debo, na u I see so? lol! How things dey go for your end?

I know you have heard what Pat Roberts said of Haiti. He said things of Haitians he never said of the vitims of Tsunami in Thailand, even though both countres share similar colonial past. Take that statement, add Reid's to it, add Clinton's on top of that, pile Limbaugh's to it, stack to it the statement of Jerry Falwell, Evangelical who owns Liberty University and made a statement similar to Robert's but directed at the vitims of Hurricane Katrina, add to that Trent Lott's utterance . .what you have is a continous and persistent beat-down of black people, from media, politicians, religious leaders and . . .people like you who, though black, fail to see clearly through the code. You cling to the brilliance of your mind but what value is your brilliance to the collective black cause when you attack my position as foolish and idiotic? lol!

JeSoul, have you watched FOX lately?

. . .hold on, let me re-phrase the question. Have you seen what FOX is doing with Sarah Palin?

This week alone she has appeared on O'Reilly, Beck and Hannity. It was strategic!! Trust me. . .Palin has become what Gingrich was in the 1994 REpublican strategy, the KINGMAKER! She never needs to campaign for a candidate or explicitly endorse one, she only needs to show up on tv and speak the conservative code for communicating approval of a running politician and that would seal their fate.

She has repeatedly said she is watching the MA election and is proud of the TeaBaggers. That, . . .is the code! The spike in poll in favor of Brown is not isolated.

Anyone wanting to predict outcome of the election? Follow Palin!

On a separate issue, in another of your neighborhood state to the South. . .what do you think of Harrold Ford's hint to run against Gillibrand for the New York seat in Senate? He is a carpetbagger, not a teabagger. . .lmao! Now, there are light skinned folks that arre humble and do not allow the kind of political privilege and crowning Harry Reid recently praised on Obama to get in their head. . .they carry their person with humility and modesty. Not Harrold! Harrold Ford is the opposite of that, in fact. . .the mothrfkr goes around pimping his lightskin and fine hair to the plantation owner, so to speak! I hope he runs and I hope he loses as woeful as he did when he ran in Tennessee.

Don't forget. . .watch the polls but watch Palin.

So Pat is sayng that the enslavement of black Haitians is Godly? . . .and when they kicked the French out the land was voided of divine grace?

If this statement had come from a Imam, he would be labeled extremist. Pat Roberts is one in a line of many evangelical pastors that have made such disgusting and hateful statements against black people. There is a track record. . .Evangelicals are racists and extremists!

I do not support blacks fighting for al Qaida and I would encourage blacks under the sheperd of Pat Robertson church/es to quit in protest and find God elsewhere where their color is respected.

no2, be open minded . . .everything is cool!

tpia, in Islam, the blood of a muslim is precious. In Jihad, some muslim bloods are dispensable. Sharia forbids close associations with betrayers. Afonja didn't know the Jihadists would march that far down and besiege first Bida, and then Ilorin. His senses were reawakened in their ambition and he sub-plotted a counteraction. His response was not fast enough. . .the Jihadists successfully occupied and planted flag in Bida. They were massacred in Ilorin and they retreated. . .but Afonja had already surrendered his flag to them. So militarily they lost Ilorin but politically they owned it.  If you look at the Ilorin Emirate you can see the structure in their administrative council. I'm not sure which side killed Afonja or why. . .but its clear that he wasn't trustworthy to both sides.

I was woken up at 4am and asked to respond to the Afonja question.  What a life!  Look, you better make it worth my time!

. . . Offtopic, but Negro, say it ain't so, surely you're not hoping for 40 acres and a mule for AA's are you? not expecting reparations check to be handed out soon?
why not dear? . . .for grace, add a candy apple caddy to the stock!

lmao. . .hey, on a serious note, no I'm not! The political reimbursements I'm talking about go far deeper than material compensations of land deeds and livestock. It goes back many years when Robert Kyl, a Black international law expert attempted to establish declarations in UN that will conclude on Jim Crow laws in US. Many older generation Blacks know that story and even though its not in everyday conversation, whites are wary of a Sharpton or Jackson in White House in many ways that an Obama does not raise their apprehension to that high level.

Lazy, thanks for clarifying your position. I disagree that the underlying factors for Obama victory was obvious. If it was he would not have won the white house. The journey had to be shrouded using mainstream media's help. Just because you understand it does not mean everyone else out there did.
Foreign AffairsRe: No Dark-skinned Black Allowed! by NegroNtns(op): 8:31pm On Jan 12, 2010
lazy,

. . .doesn that then constitute a double standard, a selective tolerance to racial infractions? If that's the case, then its not Reid who is in the wrong. . .its the collective Black voices who are shielding him from censure.

Mark my word, this episode will come in future to mock Blacks. Obama said Reid was praising him. Not only that. . .Reid, with this statement has vindicated the conspiracy theorists who all along had maintained that the mainstream was allowing in Obama what they would not allow in Sharpton or Jackson because he Obama had no legacy right to demand any political reimbursement from America because he did not rise out of that slave legacy. Blacks generally in the nation are now awakening to that truth but not comfortable admitting it.
RomanceRe: My Boyfriend Has Speech Problem: by NegroNtns(m): 8:13pm On Jan 12, 2010
Ikamefa, I can't believe my eyes shocked

poster, when he wants sex or is hungry, does he stammer?

jokes apart, here is a good solution. this works for everyone intersted in developing a uniform rhythym in their breathing. This is what controls speech. if you watched enough of sarah palin interviews you can notice that her random speech pattern coincides with a shortness of breath, even though she is not a stammerer.

this is what u do. . .find a wide girth belt or a firm support of continous length and tie it around the rib cage just about the same latitude with your diagphram or breast plate. with that fastened tigtly in place practice conscious breathing for about 5minutes per session. then follow that with another 5minutes of speech.  if you like recite the alphabets or sing a song.

the chest cavity is like a drum diaphram. you get the best sound of a drum when its tuned.  by fastening the belt you are tuning your cavity. with time you will become conscious of the various chords to strike and without the belt around you, you will develop good speech skills and can manipulate your breath pattern to give you that desired output.

notice barack obama when he speaks. . .uniformity in his expression, placid and calm exterior. . .that's because he is breathing naturally without effort.  some people don't have that gift and must put effort to do it consciously.

Out of all the many outlets for fostering positive diplomatic relations between the two countries, the story of an exchange for prisoners is an interest to you. . . and you dare expose us to the nonsense! You violated my sense of idealism and pursuit of noble cause.

I think you owe Nairaland $1,500.00 for this violation.

lmao!  JeSoul, I like your response to the post, and yes you are right that I bleed black but I'd like to add that I sometimes crossover and support others outside my race if I see truth in their argument.

Montelick, thanks for that feedback, I will be mindful and not generalize unecessarily. Much of your response to the post is an analysis taken after the horse has left the gate, so to speak! But even inspite of that, you cannot convince me that Burris was the only incoming new Senator with allegations of wrong doing back in their home state.

In Roland Burris case, the allegation of corruption did not surface until much after he was sworn in as Senator. The point in the case I referenced had to with when Blagojevich was still in office and Burris had been selected as replacement and Reid opposed the choice on the ground that he would not be an asset. Reid's preference was for a white replacement. If that had happened, then entire Senate membership would have been white and hispanic . . .void of black representation.

Regarding the 'liar' incident.  . .again, a retroactive analysis!  Obama was pre-empted. . .there was no way, unless in a bias emotion to discredit the President, could anyone see the facts at the instant that speech was being delivered. If you didn't see the facts until afterwards then you didn't know there was a lie. So to accuse him of lying during delivery was rude and biased. . .I never  said it was racist!  But I used the occasion as a measure of weight for what could come now that this can of de-sensitivity has been allowed.

To both of you here is a question, Louis Farrakhan was taught musiical instrument by a Jewish teacher. He has Rabbis in his inner circle of friends. Yet he once misspoke when he called Judaism a gutter religion. For that one time, he had remained blacklisted by the Jewish community ever since.  Jimmy Carter, a former President of US, the architect of the Camp David agreement and supporter of Jewish cause is blacklisted by the Jewish community for saying Israel is paracticing apartheid against Palestinians.  He recently offered apology and they shunned him saying they don't believe he is repented.  This is ONE standard! The Jewish community don't give a f--k who it is, they hold everyone to the same expecyation - zero tolerance for anti semitism!

Why do Blacks always have to be the ones that yield their collective interest to others?  If you wonder why I am a foot soldier for Black cause that's the reason. . .I oppose our default mentality.

I join the rest of you with praise and admiration for the bravery and actions of these ACTIVISTS. May this be the beginning of positive transformations for our Nation.

The marches are going to become popular and grow and with it, the Government will respond with need to manage security. We should expect to see confrontations and brutality, injustice and frustrations. This will all be in attempt to kill the spirit and dissolve the activism.

On that note, here is a question; How do we prepare for that inevitability and keep the spirit alive and strong?

In the theory of COLLECTIVISM, it is said that the common problems facing individuals are ones which they sare with others. The SOLUTIONS, corresondingly, are most effective when pursued collectively.

To that end I'd like to throw a question; do we have ownership in what they are doing on the ground? If the answer is yes, what form should that ownership represent. . . .material aid, propaganda front, contingency fund, patriotic bond ?

What are your thoughts?
Foreign AffairsNo Dark-skinned Black Allowed! by NegroNtns(op): 1:58am On Jan 12, 2010
At long last!!! Doesn't this remind of whites only water fountain? If you are black with nappy hair you are not welcome here!

Now we know why the gate was left opened for President Obama to advance his political aspirations. Had he been a dark-skinned black man with a Negro dialect, then those aspirations would have been nipped and the mainstream gate shut in his face.

Harry Reid said it. . .I'm only narrating!

Reid said America is ready for a Black man as President and OBama is a fitting person, he has the characteristics that are acceptable of a Black man - he is light skinned and does not speak like a Black person. . .but that acceptance could change if the candidate opted to speak like a Negro.

Black democrats were choreographed on a script drafted to defend Reid. This is not first episode with Reid. It can be recalled that a year ago as we debated Rod Blagojevich nominating a black replacement for President Obama's vacated senate seat, I repeatedly pointed out the inapppropriateness and the racial undertone in Reid's opposition to Ronald Burris. Burris is a dark skinned Black and spoke like one of us. Reid is not from ILlinois, he is from Nevada but yet in ambition for a victorious sweep of the 2010 elections he dared say that Burris' presence on the ballot would not garner support for a win. What Reid was saying and I , at the time interpreted, is that Burris is not light-skinned and has the mannerisms of a Negro and is thus not an acceptable candidate for an elite membership in the US Senate. The House of Rep maybe. . .but not the Senate!

Democrats, and particularly the President, in defending Reid's comment have created a free-for-all stage for any and all to mock and denigrate Black candidates and under the guise of support for Black cause.

So to speak. . .if you support Black cause, then you ae allowed to express your racism.

Republicans were not yet a majority and one of them had called the President a 'liar' on the floor of joint congressional event. . .What should we expect if Republicans win 2010 elections and gain majority, how much insults would be hurled against the President's race?

I'm only a narrator! I say out loud what many of you will not dare voice.

Yes we do. If one man believes evil was worth dying for, he shames the rest of us who talk about good and yet shrink at the prospects of sacrifice. The irksome fundamentalism in the heart of this upwardly mobile 23-year old drove him and by extension Nigeria into global headlines for all the wrong reasons.
There are evils everywhere and in every nation. A Black man should be dying, bravely and sacrificially, for the apparent evils in his nation, not in Arabia. Let Arabs recruit their own blood sons and daughters to sacrifice life for their cause.

For Umar Farouk, does the state of evil machinations in Nigeria not sufficient enough to irk his fundamentalism beliefs? He could have targeted politicians in Abuja to drive home his point.
Foreign AffairsRe: War On Terror. . .the Economies Of Scale. by NegroNtns(op): 1:00am On Jan 11, 2010
Hey Press, thanks!

There is no harm or bad intent on my part. . .US has always been a police state, overly or covertly. I read a lot of papers on the COINTELPRO projects of the 60s when Edgar Hoover headed the FBI and what they did both in inflitration and direct attacks on Black Panther, SNCC, and all other Black Movements. They have capability to exercise and manipulate power in ways that the ordinary mind cannot imagine. So I am quite aware and intimate with their abilities to deploy such resources when they pick up a scent.

My phone line, email, online posts, blogs, bulletins and articles. . .as well as my home, is open to them for surveillance anytime they want. I have no agenda but I will not deny my spirit the need to voice a thought when such thoughts become manifest in my mind. In all things religious, I distance myself. I am a spiritualist, not a religious person. In all things political, I stand for and will die for the cause of the black race. So it is very upsetting to me that al Qaida will recruit a black person to murder himself and other innocent people for an Arab jihadi cause. Come to think of it, they do not discriminate who their victims are. So we all have a common enemy. . .al Qaida! Truth hurts, but my soul hurts even more when my truth is shut down.

Again, Big Thanks!

THE 6 COUNTS. . .Any Plea?
-----------------------------------------------

First, here is the indictment, taken directly from the authorities. Follow the link, read the charges then come back here and read some more.

http://detroit.fbi.gov/dojpressrel/pressrel10/de010610.htm
-----------------------------------------------

1. Charges were filed in a jury indictment against Umar Farouk. I hope he would not face a jury trial.

If he is tried by jury, the law require they be his PEERS. Who in America are his peers? Anyway, no problem! It won't matter if this is an open end or a close end definition, I am sure there are plenty and more than sufficient precedence to reference for an overrule of the objection but. . .lawyers love to throw spaghetti on the wall and see if it sticks. lol!

2. The only charge that carry a single penalty of life sentence is the one accusing him of using 'weapons of mass destruction'

Well, if I were AG Eric Holder I would word that charge differently. How would Umar Farouk know he was carrying a weapon of mass destruction? He must have pre-knowledge and cognition of what item and substance is a WoMD. Does he have that awareness?

For answer we only need to look at airport security check points to see what items of personal belonging are confiscated on a routine daily basis from his soon to be PEERS. Ordinary household items that to us are no more than simple firecrackers and that hold no significant hazard when handled safely are actually classified by Government as WoMD but citizens are still clueless about the hazardous nature of these substances and plan on boarding aircraft with them untill they get to the security agent at the gate who intervenes by seizing the item and sending the traveller along with their new awareness to their designated terminal.

So posession of WoMD is common occurrence at airports but thank God for the dilligence of security personnell, they never make it past the gates, unless a flaw occur in that inspection process. Even at that, it can be guaranteed that there will be no episode on the ground or in the air and the entire travel time will be event free. The same level of confidence cannot be attributed if there were pre-motivated designs to conceal and escape detection towards the aim of causing an eventful episode on the ground or in the air, as was the case here with Umar Farouk.

So while he, the Defendant, could decidedly be convicted on motive. . .the Government is culpable in security lax and cannot prove beyond reasonable doubt that Umar Farouk is knowledgable and cognizant of the fact that he was indeed carrying a WoMD, anymore than it could prove that the general citizenry of America are knowledgable and cognizant of every classified item or substance designated as WoMD by their Government. To the extent that a subset of this citizenry will be seated as jurors in the courtroom and in their capacity, as required under the provision of due process, as PEERS of the accused. . .it is fair to invoke the civil rights act of 1964, which makes it unconstitutional to discriminate against individuals on grounds of color, religion, race or nationality and therefore make the case that any conviction of Mr Mutallab on this charge without equally prosecuting and convicting Americans who are known to have in the past, at current or in a time in future, approached airport security posts with classified and designated items and substances of WoMD would therefore be an act of discrimination and miscarriage of justice.

3. On the charge that he endangered 287 lives.

He can comfortably call two high profile witnesses for his defense;
(a) the US Government
(b) Northwestern/Delta Airline.

He did not use false identity to travel. He traveled under his own name, passport and visa. What does this mean? A lot!! He can use this evidence as argument to counter any accusation that he was trevelling in concealment or to avoid detection.

American Intelligence Agencies knew who he was ahead of his travel and had no problem with him entering an airport, boarding an airplane or flying in air and more so had no objection to his entry into US soil. Umar Farouk is not responsible for safety in the air and must not be penalized when air safety is violated. He is responsible for his personal acts in the air and if he has acted in ways contrary to and in violation of the contract of carriage between himself as passenger and Delta as Carrier, then that's what he should be prosecuted for. What are the terms of that contract and has there been a violation, and to what extent are violators penalized?

Northwestern, shortly after this incident filed a lawsuit/complaint alleging the Government's failure to detect and prevent the bomber posed risks and endangered its passengers. If the Judge would allow its admission in the case, that's a material evidence that should be subponaed by the Defense.

In addition, all inbound travellers into United States are expected to conform to certain rules and regulation of entry. What are those rules and in what capacity has this Defendant violated them?

Umar Farouk could argue that he was inadvertently enabled to get that far in the plot by the gap left open in what should have been air tight security barriers and thus did not willingly intend to carry out the errand but for hand of fate when his encounter at numerous security points repeatedly failed his expectations. Testament to that is the fact that he was travelling with transparency and openess.

. . .The Government's back is on the wall. This guy, Umar Farouk is gonna end up with a plea deal and go for 20yrs. Obama need political approval and so he will play it with tough love. . .no possibility of parole for the convicted felon!

Court Adjourned! Honorable Judge Negro Nations exiting the chambers. lmaoJ

JeSoul,

Thanks for looking out for my well being. wink

Judging by the way America is fighting this war on terror, the scale is tipped in al Qaeda's favor. Contrary to released broadcasts of al Qaeda being decimated in number and capacity, the reality on the ground proves otherwise.

Between the incident of Dec 25th and today, a mere two weeks. . .America's response in monetary value alone is already in billlions of dollars. What is the cost to al Qaeda, using any measure of value? Zero!!! That action has not cost them to loose any life, property, territorial control or operational asset.

al Qaeda understand this handicap on the American side and are exploiting the imbalance in the scale. I am only a messenger of truth. . .I connect the dots and narrate the play. I am not an actor in the script.

You ever watched the movie 'The Magician' ? lmao!

1. For every act of terror strike launched against the United States,

a. how much does it cost al Qaeda if a strike failed?

b. how much does it cost America if a strike succeeded?

2. Could al Qaeda embed a strike launch with multiple but disparate targets or motives?

a. to kill population
b. act as agent of change
c. influence policies
d. force resource deployments
e. shepherd social adaptations
f. disrupt and divert diplomatic/political advantages

3. Could al Qaeda penetrate the security perimeter at a global summit of World Leaders?

a. to embarrass and discredit security guarantees
b. to abduct and or take hostages
c. to kill and cause massive shift in global political dominance and status
d. just to shock and awe the globe and force the creation of impulsive but chaotic and confusing reorganizations.

5. What are the likelihood that al Qaeda has gained new knowledge that just showing up with the obvious tools of terror will create just as much and far reaching consequences and thus may see advantage in scaling down or completely steering away from suicidal bombers and adopt more strategic methods employing mind games and cyber to execute terror?

a. planting fake backpacks in high traffic areas at large gatherings.
b. running through security check points at busy airports during peak schedules.
c. monitoring and broadcasting maritime presence of tankers and vessels.
d. broadcasting specifics of an upcoming large event.

I'm playing devil's advocate. . .the list goes on and on and on. . .

it will even be more devastating if and when al Qaeda catches on with the Global warming buzz! I think there need to be robust security apparatus to safeguard those interests. This is crucial. . .very crucial! Here is why.

None of any targets so far struck or attempted by al Qaeda is registered on the global investment market. Carbon trade is different in that aspect. Attacking an oil vessell that spills its fluid cargo at sea is catastrophic both for the sea creatures, the oil industry and the global warming cause. . .worse, it could capsize the odds on the carbon bets and crash the market and the dollar value.

Like I said, just using power of imagination. . .das all!
PoliticsAl Qaeda And Nigeria. . .an Imminent Disaster! by NegroNtns(op): 7:01am On Jan 06, 2010
al Qaeda started off as a jihadist movement with grievance aimed against the presence of western states political structures on Arabian soil.

With successive operations, al Qaeda grew and expanded. A lot of their campaigns ended in defeat but much more were executed with successful completion, dating back to early 1990s; . . .in New York!

Without doubt, we must credit Henry Kissinger and his foreign policy strategies in the 70s for the Middle East. Kissinger's meddling seeded what would later result in the fatal loss (assassination) of Anwar Sadat.

At the time, in the 70s, Egypt was the arms bearer. . .the unofficially crowned protector of Arabian land. Politically, militarily and academically. . .Egypt was primarily the gateway and the frontier through which diplomatic negotiations back and forth were carried out between West and Arabs. There was a secondary frontier. . .when Egypt proved difficult the West would approach the Arabs through Turkey.

The Prime Minister of Israel at the time was Golda Meir, a woman. She had crushed Egypt in the 7day war and now the terms of the surrender and recovery were negotiated and mediated from Washington and by no other person than Kissinger, manipulating Sadat to yield to Meir.

The defeat of Egypt and the losses of territorial land to Israel weakened Egypt's position and consequently the Arabian political ambition. With no state asserting Arab interests against the West, movements sprung up.

The plot to assasinate Sadat was carried out by disgruntled citizens, members in a brotherhood, opposed to his softening diplomacy and a perceived diplomatic warm-up to Israel. al Qaeda's second in command, Ayman Al-Zawahiri was an activist in that brotherhood movement. His encounters with the government were numerous and his notoriety ultimately capped when he joined camped with Osama Bin Laden.

The weakening of Egypt as a frontier and the assassination of Sadat gave the West a new ammunition. They exploited fears and sold to the rulers and Sheikhs a false sense of security promising lasting reign on the throne. To make sure that Saudi is safe from possible invasion from Libya or Iraq they convinced the King to allow the station of a security detail. Just few marines to guard his Kingdom from attacks. That few, proud marines grew to become a barrack and a military base. This bold move to reside infidels on the soil of the most spiritually sacred territory in Arabia infuriated activists and rebel groups.

As you will recall, that barrack was the target of many truck bombs some years ago. This was the beginning of al Qaeda using suicide bombing as an acceptable and justifiable method of operation.

Umar Farouk is not the first non-Arab to be recruited for suicide bombing. . .but he is going into the records book as the first Nigerian to be so employed. Many more are coming behind him. Here is why I said that. . .

1. By accident or otherwise, the West has aided the global expansion of al Qaeda and made the latter a model and a pseudo-franchise for regional rebel groups to advance their grievances against the West. This franchise is selling fast at the global level. It cannot be denied that MEND was emboldened by the successful actions of al Qaeda. An accelerated ideological firestorm produced in Iraq but re-branded to fit regional needs. A pseudo-franchise!

2. For a Westerner (American, European), social identity begin and end in the articles of their Constitution. Particularly in America, the Amendment Articles of Rights is a constant navigator and guide for the individual citizen against the complex bureaucracy of Government power.
For a Northern Nigerian Muslim, social identity begin and end in the Quran and particularly in the articles of faith. This is not to say that Muslims in Southern Nigeria are not ardent believers in the faith and The Quran. . .it is a waste of my time and yours to focus on them for this topic; when it comes to ideological assertions, they are in a state of inertia. Not even al Qaeda can move them into action! This is different in the North. . .there are willing rebel groups waiting for just such sponsorships to launch a war against infidels, be they fellow Nigerians or Americans or Europeans.

3. The creed for Jihad is a simple word - Allahu Akbar! Its a magical word. When I read the Quran, I encounter mysterious words, such as ' Alif' 'Lam' 'Mim'. They are keys and codes to certain messages. There are many of these words in The Quran but in my experience, none is as powerful as 'Allahu Akbar'. When you say this word you basically make a declaration for whatever the aim is. . .and the mystery is manifested in a surge of physical strength and spiritual reinforcement in the individual embarking upon an act. It is a good tool for starting a project or an act. In Northern Nigeria, children graduate Islamic studies first before their enrollment in tertiary public schools. Their beginning is saturated with the creed. . .nothing in the Western academy can ever erase it, nothing, never! This is good and exemplary for the rest of Nigerian societies who might want for their toddlers an early mind setter to counter the brainwash of the Western education system.

4. Westerners have a formidable and uphill task if they ever attempt to block al Qaeda from recruiting followers in Northern Nigeria. We only need to look back couple of years at how Westerners have responded to unrest in the North. Back in the 80s, the British Cultural Museum and Library in Kano closed its doors and evacuated its staff out of harm's way when Mai Tatsine launched a cult war against authorities. . .it was so turbulent that in Kaduna, three hours away by road, the US embassy evacuated as well. Mai Tatsine was fighting the mainstream Muslim society and did not discriminate who was killed in the line of fire. . .even MOPOL could not calm the city and neither could the military detachment sent from Kaduna. For more than a month Kano was hot! We have seen many repeats of episodes paralleling that tragedy by different religious rebels in the North. They do not need training in creed. . .its already ingrained in them. They die for their leader's cause. . .with little or no knowledge of what that cause might be. So they are already suicidal. They just need to be coached and refined in manners so they can camouflage past security profile point.

Increasingly Northern Nigeria is becoming Arabicized. What happens to Arabs in distant Yemen, Iraq, Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, etc. . .may draw more sympathy and sense of allegiance and ownership; and as a matter of fact elicit their direct response than what befalls their brothers and sisters across the Niger and Benue.

It is high time for proactive action. We must assume that al Qaeda is indeed already nested up there and we should approach the danger with the intent to correct, rather than confront what could turn out to consume all of us irrespective of tribal identity, religion or origin.

OP, are you bringing news or discussion?

This is cold news by the way! Bring ideas and discussions, introduce an angle that heats up the brain and trigger logical response. . .not some dead boring article that we can find on our own., unaided!
