Family › Re: When Does Child Training Become Child Abuse? by Nekai(f): 3:38am On Sep 09, 2011 |
Pennywise: No right thinking well adjusted parent would want to unnecessarily inflict pain on his own child. Punishment (and reward) are known means of proper conditioning or character moulding. Its usefulness has been validated by science (behavioural psychology), it is approved by the religions (spare the rod and spoil the child), it makes sense on the basis of empirical evidence (dem no train am well or dem spoil am for childhood).
Any thing that can be used to advantage can equally be abused. It doesnt mean it should be abandoned or the right taken away from parents because there is no institution or authority that can replicate this role. The consequence is a whole generation of youth that lack ambition, are ill-mannered and irresponsible, unbridled immorality and criminals. This is the story of UK and the US of the 21st century. The knife-related daily crimes in the UK is a direct result of this kind of systemic failure. Fortunately that society has matured in a way that ours hasnt and are better placed to deal with its challenges.
If our lazy lawmakers chose to copy their laws in their bid to appear 'civilized' and sophisticated it might mean the end of family life and societal harmony as we know it. Exactly! The way I see it is that if my child isn't trained at home, the streets/ploice, ect will not hesitate to teach those lessons. I guarantee they will not be gentle either. |

Why do we women tend give our hearts away before a guy gains our trust? If you would go halfway around the world to see if he is trustworthy, then it is obvious that you are willing to invest too much. You should be focused on getting to know him as a person. He could be a great person that is serious about being in a relationship but what if he is not right for you? When you focus on where the relationship is headed before you are comfortable with who he is then it seems like you just want any guy that will settle down, and not him specifically. |

Romance › Re: Should This Guy Marry Anymore After Three by Nekai(f): 7:07pm On Jul 16, 2011 |
I wonder how the replies would differ if the OP's friend was a woman with three kids by three different guys. . . @ Topic, he should have the white wedding of his dreams. Why not? I really don't see why any woman would take a chance on him seeing that he has at least 3 children to cater to (and a couple that he rejected), but if he finds a woman who would look past his situation he should go ahead. It's his life and his choice. |

ronkebp: My dear, enjoy that attention now, a time is coming you will be on your own, in your own home and you will not have anyone dictating to you. Moreover it is part of our culture, just because you are 18 does not mean you need to be treated like a 25-35 fully grown matured woman. You are still your mothers' baby, no matter how old you are. Agreed! It's hard to imagine now but you will long for this treatment one day. |

Family › Re: Can You Let Your Child Get A Once In A Life Time Illness by Nekai(f): 4:25am On Jul 07, 2011 |
Yes, but it depends on which illness. With proper nutrition and a normal immune system many childhood illnesses are harmless, and some are even beneficial. Chicken pox protects against shingles. There is a study that shows getting the mumps protects against getting ovarian cancer. http://www.vaccineriskawareness.com/Treating-Childhood-IllnessesPersonal choice. I do think I would cry if I ever had to see my child covered with chicken pox. |

Romance › Re: Why Do Girls Ditch The Good, nice Guys To Go For The Bad Guys Instead? by Nekai(f): 10:34pm On Jun 30, 2011 |
stagger: When I was a cool guy, I never got the attention from girls. They always flocked to the bad guys. Noticed it from my secondary school days.
I neither drink nor smoke, but when it comes to girls, I am now a baaaaaaaad guy. And trust me, I am really bad with them. All the girls I have manhandled in bed keep calling me for more. I just blank them, and they keep calling. You can't feel the swagger and stagger of my dagger and not call for more. |
Romance › Re: Whats The Difference Between Lust, Infatuation And Love? by Nekai(f): 10:30pm On Jun 30, 2011 |
upendo 98: My thoughts
Lust = Takes care of the physical body only Infatuation = Confusion between love and lust Love =Takes care of body, soul and spirit I choose love bcz Love =death (that is what you mean by sacrifice) Best eg. a)JC b)Romeo and Juliet in shakespear Lust is about you. Love is about the other person. Infatuation is about the other person you only think you know. |
Family › Re: I Urgently Need Ur Advice On My Husband And His Ex-girlfriend by Nekai(f): 8:35am On Jun 30, 2011 |
jennykadry: There is an Icon for tongue in cheek. That first advice or supposed ''tongue in cheek'' was uncalled for and i'm sure even the poster would have had the same thought. No sane woman will want her husband to become an overnight therapist to his ex. What about his wife's feelings? Why is the ex not communicating with her own husband?
Some men need to be slapped. This is embarassing.
BTW I don't believe your first post was tongue in the cheek @ Bolded: After rereading the first piece I understood how you (and possibly the OP) could have been confused about the intent, which is why I excused you for not knowing whether it was posted via my "brain or my a/n/u/s", and clarified myself. It is of no benefit or detriment to me if you have believed anything I have written. Back to the topic at hand. . . . |
