It is far from free, there are many restrictions placed

There is no valid reason why they should not be arraigned for such contemptuous forgery of the hallowed Senate rules, except petty ethnic and political bias.

As expected....about 3 days ago a guy on a thread said he wants to sell his 10000$ Which he said he bought at the rate of 302 but that he wants to wait till it gets to 400naira per dollar,I adviced him that he should better sell it at that moment when it was around 350 because anything can happen on Monday which is today because I believe that the market might possibly fall in between the official price and the last parallel market price and that should be around 250-290.guess what??the guy said I am deceiving myself...that he is very intelligent and he believes that the dollar price will even open higher on Monday which is today....I hope the overconfident ignorant fellow his reading this...the annoying thing about some people on nairaland is that they feel they know it ALL and they are not ready to hear the opinion of any other person especially if it is coming from a woman....smh...
You missed the point, the common man and many importers cannot get dollars from the interbank market.
You should watch out for the next two weeks before you think he made a wrong decision.

It doesn't prove anything,

Crime › Re: Campus Beheading & Cultism-you Might Not Like What This Nigerian Lawyer Is Propo by neocortex: 10:16am On Jun 20, 2016
stefanweeks:
I support the lawyer.

Legalizing the confraternity will enable us hold its leaders and members accountable for their actions.
By so doing, we know who to hold whenever laws r broken if handled transparently
If I may ask, who are its leaders ?
It is easy to say "legalize it" without considering the
ramifications of such an action.

First, the government will have to grant all the cults group
total amnesty such that any crime they might have committed
will be waived.

Secondly, the known "leaders" will need military escort to prevent
being gunned down as forgiveness is a sin in these cult groups.

Third, the lawyer failed to understand that violent cultism isn't just
about schools and institutions, there are many groups whose members have
nothing to do with schooling.

Also, these groups have patrons with limitless financing power, why will a cult
group abandon its lucrative contracts in favour of legal status ?
With the fact that Nigerian society have no history of holding leaders(even non-violent ones)
accountable let alone a cult group, of what use will be cultism legalization.

You can't solve an armed conflict by legalising the activities of the players,
cultism is neither drug nor guns.

I think where the government got it wrong is treating cultism the same
as armed robbery and kidnapping because it is much more than that.

Every complex problem has a simple answer but they are always wrong.

Not saying it's a must to have an iPhone but if you can afford it, please do and save yourself the troubles of owning a droid . My 2 cents.

Boss13:
All economies in the world are complex. Though some have their peculiarities. The G8 for instances make and influences policies to their advantage. We live in a dynamic world and not one that is static. Hence, policies must be adapted or change to suit challenges as they arise. The United States lowered interest rate to boost productivity, offered incentives to business owners and also made bail out to Banks. The Eurozone has the lowest interest rate and even a negative yield on Government bond.

The CBN, in view of the challenges currently being experienced, has decided to review the policy on FX. This policy made be reviewed or withdrawn if abuses are noticed or the required positive change is not felt. Hence, it is not a trial or error economics, but one to addressed the current challenges and dynamics of our environment.
I hope that doesn't happen because it will spell disaster for foreign investment for a long time,
unstable forex policy is the greatest fear of investors.

lol..fine question...but more alarming is that even the NOTHING isn't eternal for science proclaims that the world will come to an end..its only logical that whatever will DIE has a beginning...and also logical that whatever has a beginning is CREATED

--hence whatever concept of God we hold we perceive Him as eternal..hence not created and will not die----
An eternal god though convenient is itself illogical except you have an extra-universe experience
of how the universe is everything you believe is mere speculation.
Perception isn't reality, it is the most cheapest commodity on earth.

My argument? Come on bro, don't be ridiculous. Go and argue that with George Stanciu and Robert Augros.
So you don't even understand what you typed, you just accepted it because George Stanciu and Robert Augros say so.

Bro are you a physics student? if no then back off! If yes then is mind(consciousness) material or immaterial?

If you get that correctly then relate it to what you stated above which one can exist independent of the other?
If you have a remote idea of what physics is about you won't be here arguing for an immaterial mind.
That is the purview of speculators not scientist.
I think you are confusing science and philosophy,
don't be deceived by " a scientist say so", there is a wide difference between
a scientific fact and a scientist opinion.

I will recommend you get an elementary physics book to clear your misconceptions.

I'm not even in the mood for argument.
As i have said, go and argue that with George Stanciu and Robert Augros. Or better still get their book on "The new story of science" maybe you will understand better. Before coming here to display your ignorance.

And as i have asked earlier if you are not a physics student don't even bother reading the book because you will not understand it.
This is quite ironic as someone who couldn't differentiate between science, scientific interpretation and opinion have no business
talking about physics.

Bro i don't know what you are talking about. There is only one God.
Yet you are hesitant to prove your one god, what are you afraid of ?
Christianity Etc › Re: What Renowned Physicists Say About God's Existence by neocortex: 8:05am On Jun 19, 2016
Dejideji1:
nothing comes from nothing.
This statement renders your argument invalid.
There can never be a "first mind" if the mind itself is "something"
because that will imply that that the "first mind" came from nothing.

I believe you are a christian and you are very sure that yahweh the god
of israel created you , you have no business promoting the heretic
view of some scientist who aren't so sure about where they stand.

Since you believe yahweh is real all you need to convince any atheist
is prove its existent by showing that he is capable of doing what is
being ascribed to him just as elijah was reported to have done.

Understand what I am saying, you do not convict without evidence and I am sure they have no evidence. At best they have video footage which will not say anything because it doesn't record audio, so you are taking the word of an attendant? A country that preaches innocent till proven guilty, a country that upholds that principle to the extent O.J Simpson walked? I am sure they are likely guilty as f*ck but C'mon you dont tarnish the image of members of assembly of a sovereign nation based on hearsay! Even if you beleive it to be so you do it behind the scenes!!! it's not proper

Let me be clear this is not about innocence or guilt, it's about proof and embarrasing a country without proof which is what theyve done because these men represent us.

Even you have qualified your statement by saying "if true" so why make a public statement unless you have solid evidence and they can't have evidence because whatever conversation happened assuming they actually had contact could not have been recorded unless it was a setup! When a stranger asks for directions, do you say hold on let me press record on my phone or is your phone always on record in case a lawmaker asks you for directions to prostitutes and like I said video if they have wont have any audio, so you tarnish the image of a country based on hearsay? no no no! totally out of order!!!
Why are you concluding that there is no concrete evidence ?

In case of sexual assault, the accused is assumed to be guilty until proven innocent
and this has nothing to do with senators being Nigerians, even high profile sexual assault cases
that happens decade ago are being prosecuted successfully.

"concrete" evidence is irrelevant if a prosecutor is serious with the case.
Video evidence isn't needed to convict someone of attempted sexual crime.

Three senators with names not Nigeria were accused so stop juxtaposing both
as they are widely different.

All I see on this thread are people with vested interest doing all they can
to launder the senators images.

If none of the senators sued the US government for defamation, then they
are definitely guilty as charged.

One of the systemic problem with Nigeria is covering up crimes just to save
a non-existent face.
No country ever move forward by shielding its bad eggs.

If you ask me, I think it is possible there is some element of truth but I beleive the US bleeped up by making it public because I am almost certain they have no evidence, it's a question of he said, she said and in that respect it shows they don't think much of us (I don't blame them we dont help ourselves) but it's undiplomatic. Who on earth revokes the visa of 3 federal assembly members based on the words of a car park attendant? I mean c'mon!!!!!!!! You may not respect the individuals but you show respect to the office they hold.
There is no respect for law breakers!
It is a similar offense that led to the downfall of Dominis kahn from the IMF.
It is logical that the law should side with the weak not the powerful, because the
powerful can defend themselves.

Whether they are attendant or garbage packers they are humans and shouldn't
be harassed.

you are obviously a comedian or deluded!!

what do you mean by ""our education system is bad" is meaningless unless
one become specific and make an objective comparison with nations of
similar wealth and population."?

get your head out of the sand even in America there are mushroom universities handing out degress that are worthless! There are international acceptab;e standards for education and schools are ranked based on certain criteria, employers also know from experience that students from certain universities tend to perform and others don't. So you can award degree all you like and you can spend 4/5 years in a university saying you are getting an education but if your University is not rated nobody will employ you in a meaningful position, most Nigerian universities are not ranked. it doesn't matter that you degree is better than a degree from Federal university of Utuoke.

and the staement that people send their children abroad because they can afford is misguided. Does the man paying N200,000 for school fees sound like a rich man? people send their kids abroad because they know the value of education in giving their children a head start in life since everybody wants the best future for their children and they know a Nigerian degree is worthless and so do everything they can to make sure they get a good education. A man who used to pay 200K and is struggling to pay 400K fees for his child in ghana has clearly sent his child to Ghana because he knows what we have is crap!

Why Did Dangote advertise for graduates to be truck drivers if a Nigerian degree have any value? If you think a Nigerian degree has much value it is because you haven't left your village.

The plight of the Nigerian graduate is that your education is only as good as the sytem that produces you, the next time you hear a graduate can't get a job after 4 years, understand that it's not because there aren't jobs, it's because his degree is worthless and not fit for purpose!!!
Sorry I assumed you could comprehend.

Being garrulous proves nothing if you made no relevant point,
it only shows a lack of .

You could have saved yourself the stress of typing this epistle by providing
a prove that ghana or whatever university educated graduates are better
than their Nigerian counterparts in the workplace.

If you understand the dynamics of demand and supply, then dangote
employing graduates as drivers will be of no surprise to you.
What would happen to havard degrees if most graduate have one ?

I bet you are one of those who thinks a degree should guarantee
the owner a million dollar job after graduating. That is where you get it
wrong.

I still maintain that the worth of a degree is based on perception and nothing
else.

This is not about the home front I am sorry. The Gender Equality bill is not about the home front.THAT is what we are talking about. No one is talking about husband wife and washing plate. We are talking LAW
It is the rule in Northern Nigeria than Most girls are not educated and married out against their will NOT AN EXCEPTION.Let us not whitewash our reality
Then Uche Jombo shouldn't have replied because it is needless because
no where did olori even suggest girls shouldn't be educated.

I have checked throughout this thread and I have not anyone who
says girls shouldn't be educated and no Nigerian law also prevent a girl
from being educated.

Why do you think the senate rejected the first bill if it
is about educating the girl child ?

I don't want to believe that you can even think the senate rejected
a bill because that seeks for universal girl-child education.

There is more to the bill than girl child education or forced marriage as Uche jombo has shown.

This is probably the old tactic of using a great cause(girl-child education)
to introduce a non-desirable element(Family subversion).

Finally, if you have an inkling of how a traditional islamic society is run , you will know
that common laws means nothing when compared to religious sentiments.
Until religious leaders start speaking in favor of education, the law will have no effect.
