In your first post it appears you dont know what it was about, however, in the 2nd quote you said you thought this has been settled.
My question is why asked what happened when it appears you are aware they both had issues?
folmus: Now you see yourself. Please, those affected have resolved the issue but you want to shoulder what is not your issue.
Tell me, how my response fuel the saga.
Am not talking to those affected at this point... Am pointing out how you are adding gasoline to the issue... Go back to page 1984 and read your comments all over again.
redcliff: why would you put someone else's number on here without his permission?
I wouldn't want anyone who I've transacted with putting up my number here, I rather remain anonymous. Now you can tell that the owner of the number live somewhere in the west suburbs of Chicago.
folmus: Guy, why are you quoting me? You should quote the person that accused you.
I thought this is an old issue.
You know it's an old story but you be acting like you knew nothing about the whole saga just to fuel the whole thing all over again. That's not necessarily.
vickzie: does it also apply to payment for services rendered. a client is owing me a substantial amount when dollar was 360, now that money is worth half the value it's worth then, mind you client is a diasporan, earns in $, now he's gonna spend less $ to pay me up whenever he deems fit, he gains, I loose. mind you this was a gentleman agreement, no contract.
Next time charge your client in $, its a more stable currency.
Someone gave me 5M in 3 installment because he intend to buy cars but i told him he has the option to pay me in $ to buy the cars or pay me in =N=.
He choose to pay me in naira, This was when =N= was about 350. I made him understand his money is deposited as naira and whenever he gives me a go ahead to buy the cars I will work with the current exchange rate.
Ive used his money for my project long ago and replaced it when a $ was =N=500. If he changes his mind as asked for his money, I will give him =N=5M.
Thats what I did to stay on a safe lane because right now his 5M is not enough for all the cars he intend buying.
uncleteeh: Sir, this is where we get it wrong. Architectural Plans ain't meant to be bought, a design must always be uniquely done for a particular survey plan. A lot of factors must be considered before an architect designs.
Abudu2000: okay let me tell u a little secret, most architects and engineers have apprentices, alot of thempr even IT students. They need them for clients like your neighbor that like to underpay. My CEO is a masters degree holder in civil engineering, he's like a god in this job he will never, I repeat never sit on his chair to analyze any job that isn't worth it when there alot of important steel jobs waiting to be touch. Even I won't bother, so such jobs are pushed down for the boyz to practice then checked by the engineer and the errors corrected, is that what you want? When u engage a professional, pay him well for his job and you will get your money worth. If that was how you are being paid in ur own job u won't be able to afford the drawingsinthe first place.
If the job is done by Temps/Newbies and checked for errors and corrected by engineers, I would go for it as longs as am building a family home or small service apartment. The only time I wouldn't want newbies is if its a massive project.
There is no guarantee your boss will attend to it even if the client paid more.
I will buy a ready made 5 bed duplex plan for sale if I see one and like it.
n3xt: For small projects, you can order from brick maker.
In my case, we hired the machine from hydraform guys and produced on site.
What would you call a small project? My proposed site has the same soil type, am thinking it will be cheaper if I already have the soil need to mold them on site or can source for it within.
bixton: You will definitely use regular blocks at the foundation level(substructure stage). At your DPC level you will introduce a beam( plinth beam) which is where you start to lay the interlock brick blocks. As a measure to cut cost you can mark out the areas where you want the bricks to be. It can be bricks eternally only and regular blocks internal. Remember this bricks are maintained by proper polishing from time to time so it maintains its colourful nature.
spyder880: From Enugu with bricks, this is the house of one big man, the bricks are looking neat and fresh where it has a cover, but turning dark and ugly where its exposed to rain. I remember that I nearly invested in this brick making machine two years ago. We have very good brick making soil in some parts of Enugu.
Did you work on this project? Can this brick be molded on site or is it done only at the block factory?
n3xt: The quality of materials used. Most companies using this technology just assume once you have laterite or clay and brick producing machine, you’re good to go.
I believe if a company like HFP is producing the bricks, it’ll be made to industry standard.
You probably would be correct. I inherited my grandfather's 1.5 bedroom mud house in my village built with red mud in late 1800 or early 1900 and it is still that red colour up to date. I decided to live the house standing to preserve history.
twinskenny: what of maintenance? Does it require any special maintenance? Saw our around my area and the bricks has become darker over time
I've never done any maintence on the bricks for the past 10 years but again I don't know what that would be like in a tropical area like Nigeria. Maybe someone who lives in Amem estate would know.
EgunMogaji2: I think it's really cool but as with most things in Nigeria execution lacks attention to detail. In the USA brick houses, even facades commands premium pricing.
Very true, the bricks houses are most expensive that the regular wooden houses and more resistant to elements.
I’ve used it and seen it on some projects including the Amen Estate. There’s practically nothing spectacular about it tbh. It was super cool during the build but years after I just can’t feel it anymore.
Anyway, there’s a company in Ogun state that sells good price though. I’ll share the info when I have it.
______ The only thing I enjoyed while using this bricks is the interlocking idea. I really wish building blocks are made that way.
Dude this is super cool, I live in a house built with brick; l keep loving it everyday. Let me know when you have the contact... If it's way beyond my budget I will add regular block to cut cost. Hopefully I will achieve that dream look
Focusmind: It is not. I thought of the idea before starting my project as I so much love bricks and natural stones as exterior wall rendering. If you have the money, fire on with the bricks. It makes the house everlasting and differentiates your build from the rest within the neighbourhood.
If only I have some idea what the difference will be. I'll keep digging until am able to find a side by side comparison. Thanks for your time.
mountmoriah: have done that sir, am also mountmoriah on kobocity, and to be candid I love that name kobocity, whoever coin that name he is intelligent, kobocity will soon be known throughout the whole world, I check kobocity on Google trend it is growing rapidly
Thanks
This your username is so unique, I hope it isn't what am thinking?
cococandy: Whatever led to the stroke probably led to the cardiac arrest too. Hyperlipidemia is a silent culprit.
If he spoke with the kids just this past thanksgiving, that means he probably was still having a good relationship with the kids. How do people know she told him he wasn’t the father? Only her knows who the true father is.
People should stop saying that’s what killed him when that’s not an empirical measure of cause of death.
From the write up, it's obvious they are not together anymore, I mean saying he call the Children at least 2 times a months show there is a red flag somewhere. It's should be atleast 15 times a month.
Excuzeme: Shut your dirty mouth, you are not a Northerner, just another Troll using multiple I.D's to waste your own time here. All of you using multiple I.D's to post rubbish here, can cry from today till tomorrow, you wont get any apology because You are Nobody.
@Davodyguy did not insult any Igbo person, he even said specifically that "ALL TRIBES have criminals among them" and why you guys think ALL TRIBES mean Igbo tribe, is best understood by yourselves?!. I am still looking for the word "Igbo", in his post and until someone shows me, they can point fingers at themselves, if they feel guilty. You cant bully him into making an apology, when he has not done or said anything wrong.
If the matter touch you and you are feeling guilty, change your ways
Please keep posting all your nonsense, it wont stop anyone from asking or answering questions about building. The joke is on you and your nuisance value. After all your insults on other tribes, did you hear anyone of them fighting you or asking you to Apologise?
The Motto of Guardian Newspaper says: Conscience is an Open wound. Ofcourse, if you are guilty, you will always be afraid, even when no one is chasing you.
It's obvious the same person is trolling with different accounts, you can tell if you read all his post closely.
His Nobody! his nobody!! but talk of hosting a new domain is in progress, it simply means you guys are making nobody somebody.
If NL Admin can flag his MAC addresses he will need a new phone or computer to visit this site.
All that being said, stereotyping is unhealthy; I would avoid it in a public discuss.
n3xt: It’s possible. I did a project here few years ago. The client ordered everything from roofing to bathroom fixtures and wardrobes from china in a 40ft container.
I think it took 60 days.
_______ Also there are Chinese companies talking to us directly on our projects. But we are doing this for a mini-estate requiring over 10,000sqm
Am looking at 40ft container for this.. The last time I asked I was told by a clearing agent that I will need license to be able to buy stuff directly. Am not sure if anyone here have heard something similar too. Who knows maybe Aliexpress agents can't handle it.
Is there the possibility of buying stone coat roofing sheets directly from China through Aliexpress?? Assuming am able to pay for it. Am looking at starting a new project and had once thought of just buying stuffs from China directly.
n3xt: - Superior Insulation - Better sound absorption (you’ll have to do over 1mm gauge of aluminum or install fiberglass insulation to match this). - Strength of concrete - Fire resistant
One of the major drawback of flat roofs in contemporary builds is insulation (heat or sound).
______ You don’t have to believe. You just need to ask for the address. It’s adjacent COWLSO building in Lekki Scheme II, Lagos.
Well, looking at the prototype you posted here it still look beautiful, my initial thought in your previous post was some very low quality house on a 60M land.
Before stone-coated, there was Nigerite Super lightweight. Then, longspan roofing sheet. Later, Steptiles. Not too long metcopo, shingles, shakes, Gerald, polycarbonate, SIP, acrylic and so on...
Everything is only a matter of time!
_____
I did a project in Lekki, Lagos for a high profile Nigerian here and he decided to use Nigerite roofing sheet. He cares not about who’s looking! His land costs about 60m
______
In similar vein, I did a 8.5m roof in 2015. Guess What! It was a longspan roofing sheet. That amount will almost deliver a duplex (carcass) in some location.
Everything is a matter of choice!
Are you able to find out why he chooses to use Nigerite on a 60M land? Not making any sense to me. People have preferences but this one am finding difficult to believe.
